Despite a recent disappointing streak in the Marvel films, the next few (not including Spider-Man: Homecoming) are looking a bit more promising. This November will find Taika Waititi directing the promising combo of Cate Blanchett and Jeff Goldblum in the next Thor film, then just a few months after we’ll be getting a solo Black Panther movie helmed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed) and now the first trailer has landed.
Sporting quite and epic feel and bringing some much-needed diversity to the Marvel line-up, the cast includes Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Martin Freeman, and Andy Serkis. In related news, Coogler and Jordan are set to reteam for a fourth time with Wrong Answer, according to Deadline, a Ta-Nehisi Coates-scripted project that follows the true story of Atlanta high school teachers who cheated scores on standardized tests for their underprivileged students.

Ryan Coogler’s road to blockbuster glory began when he jumped from indies like “Fruitvale Station” to the mid-budget, Oscar-nominated “Creed.” But now he’s going all out with a massive budget and a truly epic task in Marvel’s “Black Panther.” The title character, played by Chadwick Boseman, was first introduced in last summer’s “Captain America: Civil War,” and his first standalone movie will allow the Marvel Cinematic Universe to tell a different kind of hero story.

Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan are two of the most exciting collaborators working in Hollywood today because they’re telling stories from a perspective that doesn’t align with what the industry unfortunately considers the default (ie. stories from a white male Pov). Creed, their entry into the Rocky franchise, was one of the best blockbusters of 2015, but go […]

It's always great when a director finds their "actor muse," or vice versa. Martin Scorsese has Leonardo DiCaprio, Nolan works with Tom Hardy more and more, Tarantino uses Christoph Waltz as much as Waltz's busy schedule allows, and Spielberg recently started including Mark Rylance in nearly every film. And of course, you have Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, though at this point, that relationship seems more like a loveless marriage than a solid actor/director collaborative process (so, it's not always great). Though none of these actors work exclusively with these directors and these directors don't include the actors in every film, all undoubtedly have a working relationship that both find beneficial for their creative process.
If these two didn't belong on such a list before, they certainly do now; actor Michael B. Jordan and director Ryan Cooglar. Jordan has appeared in Cooglar's Fruitvale Station, Creed, and the upcoming Black Panther from Marvel Studios.

Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan are quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most successful movie-making teams, from the indie success of Fruitvale Station, to the crowd-pleasing returns on their Oscar-nominated Rocky spin-off, Creed. (Not to mention a collaboration on Marvel’s much-anticipated Black Panther, which will see Jordan appear in a supporting role.) Now, the duo has announced their fourth film together, with Variety reporting that the education drama Wrong Answer is currently in the works.
Based on a New Yorker article of the same name, the film will center on a group of Atlanta teachers who conspired to alter students’ answers on federal standardized tests, hoping to avoid their middle school’s shuttering under No Child Left Behind. Jordan will play Damany Lewis, a “star” teacher who first covertly read the test questions in advance, and then spent hours correcting students’ answers to nudge the school over the...

If Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan are this generation’s version of Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro, that’s just fine by me. The director and actor have already teamed up on a pair of great films, “Fruitvale Station” and “Creed,” and have worked together, even if a bit less intensely, on Marvel‘s upcoming “Black Panther.” Now, they’ve got another project cooking that will see their talents spinning an intriguing true story drama.

Based on a 2014 New Yorker article by Rachel Aviv that will be adapted by Ta-Nehisi Coates, the film will see Jordan play Damany Lewis, a math teacher at Atlanta’s Parks Middle School who became involved in a plan to manipulate his underprivileged students’ standardized test scores so the school would not be shut down under George W. Holy conflicting reports, Batman! As you may have noticed, over the course of the past several days, we’ve been writing off the assumption that Patty Jenkins had signed on to a Wonder Woman sequel. The assumption came off an extensive THR piece, wherein the reporter stated that Jenkins “and Gadot are contractually committed to a second film.”
Well, THR is singing a different tune now. In a new report from the outlet, it sounds like they’re backpedaling on that statement. Jenkins, it turns out, was only brought on for one film, as she had only directed one film (2003’s Monster) up until that point, and as such was subject to the standard practice for directors signing on for one big blockbuster at a time.

When Barack Obama announced this week the latest recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest honor that can be bestowed upon a civilian, there were many prominent names, people whose stories are widely known throughout pop culture including Michael Jordan, Robert Redford, Bill and Melinda Gates, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Hanks, Ellen DeGeneres, Lorne Michaels, Diana Ross, and Robert De Niro.
The Names You Didn't Recognize On The Presidential Medal of Freedom List
Amid that glittering Medal of Freedom list, there were two lesser known names that gladdened my heart: Grace Hopper and Margaret H. Hamilton. That they are lesser known is a crime, really. Each has been a pioneer in the history of computing, and each deserves a bigger place in our cultural conversation. It is to the president’s credit that in his last group of Medal of Freedom recipients, he included two of our country’s greatest scientists,...

Chad even apologized, sort of, to Evan – or at least promised to give him $20 for the shirt he ripped off his back in a fit of rage.

Michael B Jordan is working on a new drama about the standardised test cheating scandal in Atlanta.
The Creed star is reuniting with Fruitvale Station filmmaker Ryan Coogler once again for Wrong Answer.
Wrong Answer will reportedly see Jordan play an Atlanta schoolteacher caught up in the testing scandal that saw 12 educators indicted.
The scandal began in 2009 after years of suspicion over students improving the scores on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Test. Cheating was found in around 44 schools two years later.
Jordan told The New York Times: "I'm just trying to shine lights on little situations that I feel are the problem, and telling it through art.
"I think that's my part. To have people receive something that inspires thought, and conversation, and maybe you can change the way someone thinks. I think that's where it starts.

Elsa Threatens Elaine Lancaster With Her Purse
Miami drag queen superstar, and Lea Black look-alike, Elaine Lancaster was served royally by Mama Elsa for constantly dragging her daughter Marysol Patton's name through the mud every chance he got. When Elaine tried to make nice with Elsa, the sharp-tongued mama wasn't having it and bluntly went old-school by telling Ms. Lancaster that she would hit him with her purse. When I tell you that I died when Mama Elsa uttered those words... I mean literally on the floor rolling as if the casket was prepped and ready for my burial.

My thoughts drift in and out of worldly ambitions and stupid stuff I wished was real, but it was in the latter half of that equation that the thought, “whatever happened to You Don’t Know Jack?” came about. Amidst that, oh, I’d say an hour long inner dialogue, notes like, “It was a very good game” and, “I remember it being very clever” or, “with the only slight exception of Scene It, most party trivia games these days are kind of lame.” Then, as a stray shooting star whipped on by — which I can only assume because I probably wouldn’t have seen it through the light pollution — the whimsical words, “there should probably be a new one or something...

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t ABC’s intention to have Brad Womack, current leading man of its Bachelor franchise, outfitted like a live-action Ken Doll this week, but each of his three dates conjured up the idea that the drawling hunk of plastic was nothing more than a blank canvas onto which a variety of fantasies could be projected. (Hey, if the Mattel shoe fits…)
Who spies Personal Shopper Ken, bearing gifts of shoes and bags and dresses? And there’s Nascar Ken (accompanied by Grief-Stricken Barbie)! Oh, and look, it’s Soldier Ken, rocking guyliner and Lycra camouflage.

On 'The Game' (Tue., 10Pm Et on Bet), Derwin digs a big hole for himself when trying to compliment his wife. Melanie is frustrated with Jazz (Sheila). "There is no way she can be a role model ... Anybody can be in a music video ... Is she really all of that?" she asks, clearly fishing for Derwin to assure her that Jazz is nothing special.
"If you're into the whole exotic huge ass, huge boobs thing -- which clearly I'm not, 'cause I'm with you," her husband replies. Wrong answer. But it gets worse.

Everybody knows: Don't get on Patti Stanger's bad side. And everyone also knows, the easiest way to piss her off would be to basically tell her you don't want or need her services.
On 'The Millionaire Matchmaker' (Tue., 9Pm Et on Bravo), Patti tells one client that she's not connecting with men. "Your problem is you send mixed messages. You confuse people ... It's like 'Waaa Waaa! Warning Will Robinson!'" referencing 'Lost in Space' as she flails her arms.
The woman bristles and says, "I don't need anybody to figure me out ... I'm happy being single. What?! Wrong answer, dear. Patti replies: "Then why the [beep] did you come to me? ... Get the [beep] out of here!"

"127 Hours" (USA)A tour de force by James Franco and Danny Boyle ("Slumdog Millionaire"). Many are familiar with the true story, and just as many probably thought it could never be filmed. Tonight's Big Brother gave us more bitchiness, more backstabbing, and more Kristen, which was a great start for my week (except the "more Kristen" part – more on that later). In short, I was one happy camper!
The game is on full throttle, which means that some people are on top, while others are already stumbling in their game play, i.e, making several stupid mistakes. Let's start with the moments immediately after Annie's elimination.
After Annie is sent packing, the house celebrates in their own way. Rachel is glad that she gets to stay to play the game longer… with Brendon, Enzo works on his rhyming by boasting how the Brigade "threw a grenade" on the Brendon/Annie/Rachel Threesome, and Brendon comes clean about his actual job, which makes Andrew and Ragan gloat in the diary room about their professions being safe. Plus, Annie/TheSaboteur left one more surprise...

Editor's note: A source at ABC Daytime informed us of a top secret unaired (and unrated even) episode of One Life to Live. This episode picks up where we last saw Oliver Fish and Kyle Lewis. While for various conractual and logistical reasons the episode itself cannot be broadcast – our own snicks will be watching it this afternoon via encrypted streaming broadcast, and he'll be liveblogging as he watches. So buckle up Kish fans, and refresh often for updates!
Here is the liveblog of the footage that you'll never get to see.
2:05Pm Est: Kyle is feeding Sierra Rose when a tired Oliver walks through the door. They kiss passionately (with tongue) and Kyle asks Oliver how his day went. Oliver sighs heavily, takes off his shirt and says "It's been a period of adjustment since Roxy became Chief Of Police, but with Bo retiring to run that cattle insemination farm with Nora,...

Ha!!!! Ha!!!! Ha!!!!!!! I Sooooooo Called It!!!! Your boy is Bad!!!!!!! Desperate Housewives returned in top form by pushing the storylines into overdrive this week, bringing the two top mysteries closer to what could be an explosive finish!!!! So let's recap!!!
The Set Up
Another girl has went missing in Fairview, and like Mary Alice laments, no one really has paid attention… Except the killer himself.
Susan and Mike
Mike's tested "manhood", a storyline that should have been nipped in the bud earlier, rears it's ugly head again this week and it's getting worse since Mike still doesn't get the whole partnership aspect of marriage.
After Susan sees someone trying to repossess Mike's symbolic truck (and making a spectacle about it), Mike reveals that he is behind on the payments on his truck. Susan immediately offers to help, but Mike declines to touch his wife's money and wants to work things out on his own.
