In the wake of this week's headline-grabbers like The Dark Knight Rises, Avatar sequels, a Top Gun sequel and The Hobbit, there were also many other development projects making waves. Here's a look at some other new movies you may have missed:
The Archivist— Looking to try her hand at directing, actress Robin Wright is considering a move behind the camera with this indie romancer about an American archivist trying to win back his ex-wife in the U.K. The project is reportedly being produced by Michael Stipe.
Emergency!— Will this movie save your life? Robert Downy Jr. hopes so. He's on board to produce via Team Downey and possibly star in the film based on Neil Strauss' survivalist tome of the same name. Wall Street 2 scribe Allan Loeb is adapting the screenplay.
The Little Prince— Fans of the French children's classic (or the 1974 Gene Wilder-Bob Fosse musical) rejoice! An animated adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's charming tale of a stranded pilot who meets a curious young boy is on the way from the Paris-based Onyx Films with Kung Fu Panda director Mark Osborne at the helm.
Teddy Bear— Big casting coup for Seth MacFarlane with Mark Wahlberg in talks to star in his comedy about a guy who's formed an unusual bond with his childhood toy. The project is set up at Universal.
Head On— Apply directly to the forehead? No. Not to be confused with the annoying bygone ad campaign, this biopic is based on the life of British musician and author, Julian Cope, who frontlined the '80s rock band The Teardrop Explodes before finding fame on his own with the track, "World Shut Your Mouth." Actor-writer-director David Morrissey (The Reaping) is considering Rhys Ifans as Cope.
The Doberman Gang— Dog whisperer Cesar Millan fetched the rights to the original 1972 canine comedy about doggie bank robbers. No word on who the remake's new pack leader will be.

Producers Dean Devlin and Charles Segars have teamed to acquire remake rights to The Doberman Gang franchise. Devlin and Segars acquired rights to the three films -- The Doberman Gang, The Daring Dobermans and The Amazing Dobermans -- from Byron Chudnow, who directed the original films. Chudnow also will serve as executive producer of the remake. Released between 1972-76, the Doberman films focus on a pack of Doberman pinschers trained by a small-time crook to pull off the perfect bank robbery only to see the dogs become crime-fighting heroes.
