Carrie-Anne Moss, best known for her iconic role as Trinity in 'The Matrix' franchise, is set to join Arnold Schwarzenegger and the cast of "FUBAR" for the show's second season on Netflix.
Moss will play Greta Nelso, described as a former East German spy who has a "passionate history" with Schwarzenegger's character, Luke Brunner. In the new season, Luke finds himself facing off against villains from his past, including an old flame (Moss) who threatens to destroy the world.
"We're thrilled to welcome Carrie-Anne Moss to the cast of "FUBAR" for what promises to be an action-packed second season," said creator and showrunner Nick Santora. "Her character Greta Nelso adds an exciting new dynamic as a nuanced adversary with complicated ties to Arnold's Luke Brunner."
In addition to Schwarzenegger and Moss, Season 2 will see the return of Monica Barbaro, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Jay Baruchel, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley, Milan Carter, Fabiana Udenio, and Barbara Eve Harris.
The satirical spy series, produced by Skydance Television, follows CIA operative Luke Brunner (Schwarzenegger) who finds himself thrust back into action after saving his daughter during an intended retirement mission in Season 1.
The series' first season garnered praise for its offbeat blend of action, comedy, and family dynamics anchored by Schwarzenegger's first major TV role. Season 2 will continue exploring those elements while raising the stakes with new threats for Brunner to confront.
A release date for the eight-episode season has not been announced yet. The series is executive produced by Santora, Schwarzenegger, Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, and others.

Sad news to report this afternoon. Renowned jazz saxophonist died yesterday at age 78 after a long battle with prostate cancer.
The six-time Grammy winner performed with a galaxy of stars over the years, including artists like David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, and Paul Simon, but he was also a regular face in some of the biggest house bands in late night—and then on his own show.
He got his start in late night in 1979 when he joined the Saturday Night Live band for its fifth season. When Paul Simon and James Taylor were tapped to co-host an episode that season, Sanborn served as a standalone musical guest—the only time an SNL band member has done so.
Following his time in Studio 8H, Sanborn could frequently be seen on another NBC late-night show.

John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's in LA only aired for a week and a day, but it might have had the power to change TV for the better. That's probably too much pressure to put on six episodes of a live Netflix experiment that the comedian hosted from an inexplicable 1970s living room set on a soundstage at Sunset and Gower, but that's the feeling I came away from it with. That was what TV's been missing — that fever dream that made Jerry Seinfeld suggest that Mulaney wasn't quite as sober as he now famously is, that weird combo of morning radio and late-night cable access. It's the sort of thing you wake up to at 3 a.m. after falling asleep with the TV on, and it's exactly what we all needed.

If you’ve been (im)patiently waiting for 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s return, you’re not alone. Rob Lowe, who stars as Captain Owen Strand, is eager for Season 5, on Fox‘s fall 2024 schedule, to get out there already. “We’ve been shooting for two or three months now, so I want to be able to see it already,” he told TV Insider at the network’s upfront red carpet. The Season 4 finale, which saw T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael L. Silva) get married, also featured a couple of tragedies: Carlos’ father was murdered, and Owen sat by his brother Robert’s (Chad Lowe) side for his death (his Huntington’s disease was progressively getting worse). It aired in May 2023; 9-1-1: Lone Star was not part of Fox’s schedule for the 2023-2024 season at all after the strikes, instead pushed to fall 2024. But...

Now that Jonathan Majors appears in two Netflix movies, Da 5 Bloods and , which performance do you prefer? Let’s unpack how these two roles compare and contrast.
Majors plays David, the loyal and compassionate son of former Vietnam soldier Paul (Delroy Lindo), in Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods and a bitter, wronged son in The Harder They Fall. Up front, we should say that the two movies have one amazing connection: Majors co-stars with Lindo in both, and the two actors give great performances in both.
However, as Lindo’s son in Bloods, Majors plays a young man with a much milder temper. As a college professor sporting retro T-shirts and caps worn backward, he is at first fully uninterested in his father’s trip back to Vietnam to try to right a wrong and find a hidden fortune. Yet Majors follows him there, trying to reason with...

It will be worth it. That’s what the first two seasons of Good Omens have taught us as we await the third to return. Seth Meyers has got plenty more “A Closer Look”s coming. The SNL star-turned-late-night-talk-show-host has signed on to stay seated behind the desk of NBC’s Late Night through 2028.
NBCUniversal just announced the show’s renewal, alongside news that Meyers’ production company, Sethmaker Shoemeyers, has also extended its contract to continue creating content across the network’s many platforms.

Since the writers strike, streamers have been trying to figure out an acceptable new model with which to pay creators. According to a new report, Apple has quietly come forward with what it believes could be the answer.
Bloomberg reported Monday that Apple has met with talent representatives to propose a new compensation model that would pay creators based on a show or movie’s performance, no longer paying a premium up front to buy out an individual’s backend earnings.
Bloomberg obtained a memo that suggests creators would get bonuses based on three criteria: (1) how many people sign up for Apple TV+ to watch your program, (2) the amount of time people spend watching it, and (3) how much your program costs relative to how many people watch it. The creatives behind three best-performing shows could make as much as $10.5 million for a single season of television.

But even a project that deliberately targets places where gay and trans people might feel cut off from a sense of camaraderie — many locations are scattered throughout the South and Midwest, with occasional detours to California and Hawai’i — didn’t anticipate their own art...

I spent the first 37 years of my life on the East Coast, and even there, I knew who Sam Rubin was.
The beloved Ktla Los Angeles entertainment reporter, who died May 10 at age 64, was a Hollywood fixture for over 30 years, beloved, trusted and respected. Drawing heartfelt tributes ranging from industry veterans like Tom Hanks and Henry Winkler and rising stars like Charmaine Bingwa, I’ve never seen such an outpouring for an entertainment journalist since perhaps Roger Ebert in 2013. The characters in Bridgertonhave been beloved since author Julia Quinn began publishing the series in 2000. But there’s one heroine in particular who has been lauded by many a book reader: Miss Kate Sheffield, or, in the second season of the Netflix hit, Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
Introduced in the second book in the series, The Viscount Who Loved Me, Kate is the protective older half-sister of one of the social season’s latest gems, Edwina (Charithra Chandran), and one-third of the close-knit Sheffield family. Kate’s mother died when she was young, so she was raised by her father and stepmother, Mary (Shelley Conn). Kate is single-mindedly focused on making sure her younger sister is happy, but the elder sister soon catches the attention of one Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), who can’t get her off of his mind. Fans have been looking forward to Shondaland bringing more of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton books to life on-screen. But we’d argue that few scenes are as anticipated as the Bridgerton family playing a brutally competitive game of pall mall. Season 2, inspired by Quinn’s second novel, The Viscount Who Loved Me, follows the story of eldest Bridgerton brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) as he seeks a wife. That brings him into the orbit of the social season’s latest diamond, Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), her protective older sister, Kate (Simone Ashley), and her mother, Lady Mary (Shelley Conn).
The fan-favorite scene arrives in the third episode of the season, as the Bridgerton family retreats to their country estate, Aubrey Hall, to host their annual ball. Before the full crowd of London socialites follows them out of the city, the younger Sharma women join the eldest Bridgerton siblings, including Anthony, Benedict...

The relationship between brothers Phil (Benedict Cumberbatch) and George Burbank (Jesse Plemons) in The Power of The Dog is... complicated, to say the least. The film, which recently received 12 Oscar nominations — including best picture and best director — introduces us to the ranch-owning siblings. A decades-old tension simmers between the pair, with Phil trying to assert dominance over their shared territory. Things get even more intense when George marries an inn owner named Rose, bringing her and her son, Peter (Kodi Smit-McPhee), into their already-complex family dynamics, with the unpredictable Phil seemingly intent on tormenting them both.
Crafting such a nuanced relationship between two characters is no easy feat, but Cumberbatch and Plemons were given a specific rehearsal technique to help them find their way: dancing.
In a recent interview with Netflix Queue’s Krista Smith, Cumberbatch recounted the way director Jane Campion...

Netflix’s new Hitchcockian thriller Windfallstars three actors you’ve definitely seen before — and perhaps even in the same movie together. But first, the scene: The film follows a series of (unfortunate) events that transpire when a robber is caught burgling a billionaire CEO’s idyllic vacation home. When the tech mogul and his wife show up unexpectedly for a weekend away, the robber’s plan goes awry. Windfallwas directed by Charlie McDowell and based on a story by McDowell and his leading actor, Jason Segel, and screenwriters Andrew Kevin Walker and Justin Lader.
Segel stars alongside The Power of the Dog’s Jesse Plemons in their second Charlie McDowell film — the two appear in his 2017 sci-fi thriller The Discovery — and Netflix leading lady Lily Collins, aka Emily in Paris herself. Read on to find out more about the film, which, in a taut 90 minutes, explores class, power and the...

The MTV Movie & TV Awards is taking another break. Variety has confirmed that the event, which would have normally taken place around this time of year, will instead sit 2024 out — with an eye toward returning next year, perhaps in a different, “reimagined” format.
It’s been a bumpy decade for the MTV Movie & TV Awards, which first began in 1992 (as the MTV Movie Awards). Last’s year’s event was forced to pivot to a pre-taped clip show in light of the Hollywood writers’ strike, as host Drew Barrymore bowed out and the WGA announced plans to picket the ceremony.

Bill Burr joined Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast and declared cancel culture is over, while Maher once again doubled down in disbelief about how Louis C.K. remains on the outs in Hollywood. C.K. was accused of sexual misconduct in 2017 and admitted to masturbating in front of several female comics a few weeks later. While C.K. has continued to tour and direct his own projects, he largely operates outside of the Hollywood studio system.

Jimmy Kimmel gave a hitchhiking Bruce Springsteen a lift—at least that’s what Kimmel’s daughter thought.
In an interview with Good Morning America today, Kimmel revealed the origins of Stewart’s surprise appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week, and his daughter’s reaction to the bit.
The pre-taped segment featured Kimmel and his wife—co-head writer and executive producer Molly McNearney—driving their kids Jane and Billy to school and picking up a hitchhiking Stewart along the way. The bit was a reference to a Jkl segment from six months ago, when Kimmel picked up Olivia Rodrigo, who his kids are huge fans of.
Unsurprisingly, they were less interested in carpooling with Stewart.
“We picked up Olivia Rodrigo, and then Jon called and said, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun if you picked me up and then the kids don’t know who I am?,’” Kimmel told GMA.

SpaceX made history on May 30, 2020 when it became the first commercial company to send astronauts to the International Space Station (Iss), on the Crew Dragon Demo-2 mission. The documentary Return to Space chronicles that mission and the partnership between Elon Musk’s aerospace company and NASA that’s helped transform America’s space program.
The film features spectacular images from space and dramatic footage of SpaceX’s successful launches and dramatic failures. It’s also packed with fascinating information about the history and current state of space travel. Here are the top 10 things we learned from watching.
Without gravity, the heart pumps too much blood to the head. This makes astronauts feel congested and dulls their senses of smell and taste. As a result, the Iss is well stocked with a wide variety of hot sauces, which the astronauts put on almost everything.

There’s one beloved Bridgerton character with her hand in all the goings on of London high society, aka the ton, in Season 2. Sure, anonymous gossip columnist Lady Whistledown reports on the drama, but the ton’s unofficial leader, Lady Danbury, orchestrates it. As the new social season begins, and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) declares it time to finally find a wife, Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) graciously agrees to sponsor the debutante debuts of two young ladies who immediately catch his eye: Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and Miss Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), recently arrived from India with their mother, Lady Mary (Shelley Conn).
When Edwina is declared the diamond of the season — the brightest gem among the marriage-eligible ladies — it’s in part thanks to Lady Danbury's influence. Lady Danbury always knows what’s going on. Everybody likes her, though people might be a little afraid of her. She...

There are few actors as versatile and intensely arresting as Lakeith Stanfield. Since appearing in Destin Daniel Cretton's Short Term 12 upon graduating from high school, Stanfield has gone on to work with premier talents, including Ava DuVernay, Jordan Peele and Donald Glover. Most recently, he joined his contemporaries Jonathan Majors, Regina King and Idris Elba in Netflix’s thunderous Western The Harder They Fall.

Lily Collins’ character in Windfall is a woman of few words. So few, in fact, that she doesn’t even have a name — she’s known as “Wife” while her husband (Jesse Plemons) is “CEO” and the robber they stumble upon in their California mansion (Jason Segel) is “Nobody.” But about 10 minutes before the movie ends, Wife makes a big decision. Huge. The audience may not know exactly what is about to happen, but a determined look in her eyes makes it clear something is about to go down. [Be warned, major spoilers ahead.]

Money may talk, but real wealth whispers. And Anna Delvey’s constant name-drops? Those are more like screams into the void. In the new Shondaland drama Inventing Anna, Delvey — masterfully played by Julia Garner — is constantly mentioning famous people, places and, of course, fashion labels in the most ostentatious way possible. While her actual bank balance is a well-kept secret, Delvey makes sure the world knows that her parties are populated with real estate moguls and world-renowned artists, that she’s been to all the hottest new restaurants and that she only gets the most expensive designer pieces as gifts for her friends. In fact, Anna drops so many names, it’s hard not to trip — and to wonder just who all these people actually are.

Anya Chalotra has been a professional actor for just five years, yet she managed to land one of the biggest roles in Witcher history.
The British actor kicked off her career with stage plays, bringing her talent to the legendary Globe Theatre in a 2017 production of Much Ado About Nothing, then following up with stints at the Theatre Royal Stratford East and Royal Theatre for productions of The Village and Peter Gynt. Only in her early 20s at the time, Chalotra managed to juggle these roles with school, but the stage work would lend valuable experience that would ready her for the major leaps she would take in her career later on.
In 2018, Chalotra earned her first TV role in Wanderlust, where she played Jennifer Ashman, a student who attends school with Tom (Joe Hurst), the son of Toni Collette's character, Joy. Though it was a small role,...

There is no shortage of progressive, original holiday programming on Netflix this year (you’re welcome). Case in point: Single All the Way, Netflix’s first original gay Christmas movie, stars Michael Urie as Peter, an unlucky-in-love Los Angeles single whose family back home in New Hampshire decides to play matchmaker. The film is actually kind of revelatory, bypassing predictable (read: tired) coming-out narratives and instead illuminating what it’s like to be queer in a supportive family. (Maybe even too supportive? Watch it before reading any further.)
In another new holiday flick, Love Hard, a dating and relationship columnist thinks she has finally met her match; he just happens to live 3,000 miles away. Hijinks ensue, but, most importantly, the movie remixes/flips traditional rom-com tropes by making catfishing seem like a good idea. Both films are a total joy — you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll definitely call your mom.

“What if you could make your peace with your own history?” It’s the question that Director Shawn Levy couldn’t get out of his head after coming across Jonathan Tropper’s script for The Adam Project. The director had just finished filming Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds, and the two were looking for a new project on which to collaborate.
The Adam Project seemed like a perfect fit. The film’s initial premise as a sci-fi action adventure about a surly Air Force pilot who time travels back to his 2022 childhood in an attempt to save the world appealed to Levy’s desire to pay homage to Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, which produced classics like E.T. and Back to the Future.
