[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 1, “What Can the Damned Really Say to the Damned.”] Interview With the Vampire is back. The Season 2 premiere brought Louis (Jacob Anderson), Claudia (Delainey Hayles), and the ghost of Lestat (Sam Reid) to Europe as they search for more of their kind. The episode ended with a beautiful, heartbreaking monologue from Louis in which he made an important pact with his daughter, one that serves as the jumping off point for the entire season’s arc. In the video above, Anderson, Reid, and Hayles break down that scene, what it was like to film it, and why it’s so important for the plot moving forward. Louis and Claudia had a harrowing experience in Romania both before and after they found the old world vampires. After four years of searching (notice the time jump from the Season 1 finale!), they finally found ...

[Warning: The below contains spoilers for American Idol.] It was Disney Night on American Idol. The most magical round of the competition saw the Top 5 head to Orlando for some fun with their families at the Walt Disney World parks. Of course, there was also important work to be done as they prepared to take the stage and perform two songs from the iconic songbook. For Mother’s Day, the hopefuls sat with their moms and had some truly heartwarming interactions. Helping them bring their best was their country superstar mentor Kane Brown. Mult-hyphenate entertainer Jenifer Lewis added to the theme of the evening with “Dig A Little Deeper” from The Princess & The Frog, accompanied by Grammy winner Terence Blanchard on the trumpet. Princess Elsa, Idina Menzel also stopped by to accept a plaque for the song “Let It Go” which was recently certified Diamond by the RIAA. [Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 1, “What Can the Damned Really Say to the Damned.”] Interview With the Vampire Season 2 is worlds different from what we saw in New Orleans both figuratively and literally. Our vampire family is far from home in the long-awaited season premiere, which began with a four-year time jump that landed Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (Bailey Bass) in war-torn Europe during World War II. Their “four years of grim wayfaring,” as Louis’ guilt-induced hallucination of Lestat (Sam Reid) said, were done in the hopes of finding more of their kind. Romania was the latest leg of their search, and it was in this bleak land that they finally found what they were looking for. Sadly for the desperately lonely duo, meeting the Old World vampires didn’t go as well as they had hoped. They met two vampires unlike anything ever seen in the series, and they put...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Tracker Season 1 Episode 12 “Off the Books.”] “Hey, little brother,” Russell (Jensen Ackles) greets Colter (Justin Hartley) when we first see him in the latest Tracker. He’s shown up at Colter’s trailer after skipping a planned meeting (so Colter did listen to their sister), and he has something that his brother needs to hear … but is he telling the truth? When the boys were younger, their father died, after falling—or being pushed—off a cliff. Colter thinks Russell did it. But, according to Russell, he didn’t. He doesn’t know if he fell or someone else pushed him, but he’s certain someone else was in the wood that night. Their father had enemies and was paranoid, Russell reminds Colter. So why did their ...

He wants to discuss business over dinner, despite her multiple refusals. “This was an opportunity to go deeper into that story and for her to really close the chapter that was this open wound from Season 4,” explains showrunner and executive producer Lindsay Sturman as part of TV Insider’s weekly When Calls the Heart aftershow, Heart Beats. Former Saturday Night Live cast member Maya Rudolph became a three-time host on May 11, almost five months after she appeared for five minutes in an episode headlined by Kate McKinnon. Her screen time in this case exceeded 21 minutes, or just over one-third of the episode’s running time.
Scroll down to see how Rudolph stacked up against each of the show’s named performers, including all three members of Vampire Weekend. Note that our screen time data is calculated using a method that prioritizes face time, meaning that any contiguous (off-screen but in-scene) moments and practically all partial body appearances do not count. Screen time in the show’s opening credits, bumpers and goodnights are not included, nor do those portions factor into our assessment of the episode’s total running time.

The Acolyte promises to introduce us to an intriguing new cast of Jedi—and perhaps none more intriguing than Carrie-Anne Moss’s Indara. Described by StarWars.com as “a Jedi Master of great physical and mental skill,” she’s a key player in the ferocious face-off highlighted in the two trailers for the show so far, and she seems positioned as a leading figure for the Jedi during the High Republic era. However, on a show where Jedi are being hunted by a mysterious, dark force, that might not be a good thing. Here’s why we’re anxious about Indara’s fate. Disney+ She Might Be Too Powerful In an interview with Empire, The Acolyte’s showrunner, Leslye Headlund, described Indara as “the most powerful Jedi in the room.” That’ll probably make for some eye-catching fight sequences, but will it also paint a target on Indara’s back?...

When NBCUniversal kicks off TV’s traditional week of upfront presentations on Monday, picket-free sidewalks outside Radio City Music Hall will be a sight for sore eyes following last year’s noisy protests in the first weeks of what proved to be the nation’s “hot labor summer.”
Hosting a programming presentation at a megawatt New York City venue like Radio City or Javits Center is stressful enough. Executives are eager to return to business as usual in wooing Madison Avenue. Last year, the Writers Guild of America went on strike May 2, barely two weeks before the curtain went up on NBCU’s tip-off event.

‘After the Flood’ Premiere Preview: Joanna Recalls Risking Her Life to Save a Father & Child (Video)
On and offscreen loves! Joanna Marshall (Sophie Rundle) gets some much-needed downtime in TV Insider’s preview of After the Flood, premiering May 13 on BritBox. Pat Holman finds a pregnant Jo asleep when he gets home. He treats her to some tasty snacks while they catch up. “Any news on the man who saved the baby?” Pat asks Jo. Jo is stricken by her memories of the flood. “God, he was right under at one point,” she says. “All you could see was just his hands holding this baby up out of the water and then to get to me… [it’s] just the water was so fast, and when he does, he’s just gone. Carried off. Swept away.” Pat chimes in, “Which could have happened to you and our baby.” Jo apologizes to Pat for taking such a risk. “Still, last day on the beat tomorrow,” she adds. ...

From cancelled celebrity frogs to heartbroken shrimp, the vast “Smiling Friends” universe is home to a lot of strange side characters. But co-creators Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel took things to another level for the Season 2 premiere of their Adult Swim series. The episode, which sports the concise title “Gwimbly: Definitive Remastered Enhanced Extended Edition Dx 4K (Anniversary Director’s Cut),” follows the eponymous Smiling Friends as they attempt to cheer up Gwimbly, a beloved ’90s video game character who is unable to star in new games because the evil corporation known as Insane Groundbreaking Games refuses to grant him access to his own I.P.
The episode, which was previewed for fans last month after the network’s puppet-filled April Fool’s prank, is a classic “Smiling Friends” adventure that sees the gang rescue Gwimbly from his sad life of making undignified Cameo videos and help him produce his own independent game.

Netflix’s latest reveal about That ’90s Show Season 2? It’s all that and a bag of chips. Maya Rudolph and Kenan Thompson reprised two characters they first performed on Saturday Night Live nearly 20 years ago in a cut-for-time sketch from this week’s episode.
It was back in 2005 that SNL viewers were first introduced to ’70s soul singers T.T. and Mario in a commercial parody for a greatest hits compilation featuring the musical duo singing about weirdly explicit sex acts.
In the new sketch, which was performed at Saturday night’s dress rehearsal and posted to SNL‘s YouTube channel early Sunday morning, the duo is still at it two decades later, although the tone of their songs would seem to befit the lifestyle of a now long-married couple.
“I spent all day cooking for you, a sexy home-cooked meal,” Mario sings. “Beef enchiladas, Lamb Vindaloo and a giant loaf of sourdough.”
“Thank you for the delicious food.

Come on: admit it. Your money was on Saturday Night Live opening with Stormy Daniels spanking a satin-pajama-ed Donald Trump with a copy of Forbes magazine.
No more guaranteed big-laugh comedy scene could be delivered to the writers’ room if it arrived on a Lake Tahoe hotel dining cart.
But no. The show’s producers and writers wanted no part of that, deciding instead that the country needed a total respite, something to take their minds off things like no end in sight to brutal violence in Gaza, that criminal trial of a former President/candidate over sex with a porn star, and the news that another candidate’s brain was eaten by worms.
Sure they could have found a few laughs in some of that—and they did, but only for Update. For the rest of the show, the answer was go silly and go silly big.

These photos are a joke.
If you haven’t been following Netflix is a Joke Fest, you might be living under a rock — or a universe where . Roasts aside, it’s the biggest comedy event in the world … at least, since the last Netflix is a Joke Fest. From May 2 through May 12, the one-of-a-kind event brought out the biggest names in comedy, playing in venues across Los Angeles. The festival took over the city in the funniest way possible, so joke’s on anyone outside Los Angeles. Of course Maya Rudolph brought her Beyoncé impression back to Saturday Night Live this week… and of course she had to go back on Hot Ones.
Rudolph once again played the pop icon during her SNL hosting gig this week and tried to eat more painfully hot chicken wings as a guest on the talk show Hot Ones. (Rudolph’s Beyoncé previously visited Hot Ones in a March 2021 SNL sketch.) This time, Beyoncé — decked out in full Cowboy Carter gear with a cowboy hat — let host Sean Evans (played by Mikey Day) know right away: “It’s a pleasure for you to have me.

Maya Rudolph brought Beyoncé back to “Saturday Night Live,” reprising her impression to give Queen B another shot at the spicy chicken wing talk show “Hot Ones.”
Opposite Mikey Day’s take on host Sean Evans, Beyoncé returns for the challenging YouTube interview segment, cocky about eating the wings until they become uncomfortably hot. As things get more unbearable, she has increasingly difficult instructions for her assistant, played by Kenan Thompson.
“This wing is stompin’ my ass,” she says at one point. “Damn, my bones are hot. That wing was a real one. Ooh, you’re ’bout to make me sing — This ain’t Texas!

Saturday Night Live celebrated Mother’s Day by declaring what we already knew: Maya Rudolph is mother.
In her monologue to kick off this week’s SNL, the former cast member admitted that hosting the episode before Mother’s Day is a special honor because she has four kids of her own. Then Bowen Yang and Sarah Sherman came out to tell her: “You’re not just a mom. You’re mother.” In fact, she has “achieved extraterrestrial mother status,” they raved, and Rudolph just laughed it off before getting deadly serious: “You’re right.” That kicked off a glamorous,...

Maya Rudolph opened the Mother’s Day episode of “Saturday Night Live” with a tribute to mothers — in every sense of the term.
Hosting the sketch show’s penultimate episode of the season, Rudolph began her monologue by noting she’s a four-time mom herself. “But Maya, look — you’re not just a mom,” cast member Bowen Yang reminded her. “You’re mother,” invoking the term’s use in queer slang to describe powerful, aspirational women. “You were the first to slay the house down boots, queen!”

Switzerland has won the Eurovision Song Contest.
Swiss entry Nemo stormed the contest with the song “The Code,” walking away with 591 points — a combination of a jury vote and public vote.
But during Nemo’s victory performance at the end of the four-hour show the singer accidentally dropped the microphone-shaped glass trophy, injuring their thumb in the process.
“I didn’t just break ‘The Code’ I also broke the trophy,” said Nemo during the press conference after the show, where their hand was wrapped in a bandage. “I broke my thumb as well. But I got a new [trophy] so I technically have two now.

‘Expedition From Hell: The Lost Tapes’ Tracks Novice Survivalists’ Horror Trip Through Amazon Jungle
A doomed expedition through the Amazon is at the center of Expedition From Hell: The Lost Tapes. The docuseries follows an eccentric guide Mickey Grosman, a former special forces demolition expert, who brought on a group of novice survivalists to follow him on his 5,000-mile journey across the jungle and South America. Those who signed up to take this trip found out quickly they’d gotten far more than they bargained for. This may read like a premise for a big-budget summer blockbuster and hard to believe at times if there weren’t over 700 hours of archival footage from the trip that documented all the misfortunes including a kidnapping, prison escapes, and a missing person. Those who lived through this experience back in 2012 reflect on their time in the Amazon and all they’d endured with Mickey at the helm. Ahead of the two-hour premiere, Showrunner/EP Erin Gamble and...
