Hamilton is the Canadian city frequently used in the show. Hope Valley is somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. A train ride from Vancouver to Hamilton would take about three days, according to today's trains and schedules, thus demonstrating that moving between Hope Valley and Hamilton would likely take even longer during the era in which the show takes place. I notice the the strap offering support to the gun belt worn by the Royal North West Mounted Police as portrayed on this show, changes sides. From what I understand, it should offer support on the side the sidearm is worn by an officer. The alternate to this is seems to offer support to a ceremonial sword worn by a higher ranking officer.
I have noticed that the strap is incorrectly worn both ways by the character Jack Thornton. See more
