A DC comics staple for decades (truly becoming popular in printed form in the 1980s), the Teen Titans have since exploded in cultural awareness mainly thanks to the various animated series, especially the zany, meta Teen Titans Go! series, which spawned its own movie spin-off in 2018. Now a big screen live-action take is in the works at DC Studios.
The squad, primarily comprised of sidekicks to older, more famous heroes, was created by (at least in team form) by Bob Haney, George Kashdan and Bruno Premiani and normally features the likes of Robin, Raven, Aqualad and Kid Flash, among others.
Ana Nogueira, who is already at work on the Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow script that will bring Kora Zor-El (played by House Of The Dragon's Milly Alcock) back to cinemas, will write the screenplay.

The "Teen Titans" are headed back to the big screen — in live-action form. THR is reporting a live-action "Teen Titans" movie is on the way from Warner Bros. and the James Gunn and Peter Safran-fronted DC Studios. Ana Nogueira is tackling the script. Nogueria is also writing the "Supergirl" movie for DC Studios, and was previously attached to write a different "Supergirl" movie that ended up getting scrapped. Got it? Good.
The Teen Titans first appeared in the pages of "The Brave and the Bold" comic back in 1964, created by Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani. Since then, they've appeared in various forms of media, including animated series and animated films, including the fun "Teen Titans Go!" franchise, as well as the gritty live-action series "Titans," a show primarily known for letting Robin say the f-word.

All good things must end, and that axiom rings especially true for the quirky, fan-favorite Max original series Doom Patrol. The show releases the second half of its fourth and final season this October, with six brand-new episodes after a nine-month mid-season hiatus that began this past January. Adapting the DC Comics’ superhero team of the same name created by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney, and Bruno Premiani, Doom Patrol has leaned into the most absurd possibilities of the genre, combined with the heartbreak that comes with being transformed into a misfit hero through horrifically weird science.
However, more than just examining the peculiarities of being a superhero, Doom Patrol has the bizarre distinction of being a program caught between shuffling streaming platforms, confusing shared universe connections, all while trying to tell its own story across four seasons. And frankly, for a team as unorthodox and weird as the Doom Patrol is,...

Even superheroes can’t defeat the looming threat of a series finale. “Titans” and “Doom Patrol,” two live-action series based on DC Comic book characters, will end after their respective ongoing fourth seasons, IndieWire has confirmed.
The two series have an interesting development history, beginning as original programs for DC Universe, a streaming platform focused on superhero content, launching their first seasons in 2018 (for “Titans”) and 2019 (for “Doom Patrol”). After HBO Max launched, DC Universe was rebooted as a free comics subscription service, and the shows moved to the new streamer. “Titans” premiered its fourth and now final season this November, while “Doom Patrol’s” launched in December; both seasons consists of 12 episodes split into two six-episode parts, with the final batches of episodes set to premiere at unannounced dates.

Jonathan Crane is now locked up in Arkham Asylum
“Titans” has found its Scarecrow. Vincent Kartheiser will play Jonathan Crane on the third season of the DC Comics series, which now streams on HBO Max.
In “Titans,” Crane is past his Scarecrow days and is locked up in Arkham Asylum. As Scarecrow, Crane terrorized Gotham City using toxins to exploit his enemies’ phobias. Cillian Murphy played the character in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight film trilogy.
Crane is part of a trio of new characters that will be introduced in the third season. Savannah Welch was cast as Barbara Gordon, who is the Gotham City Police Commissioner in “Titans,” long past her days as Batgirl. Although she has a past relationship with Dick Grayson (Brendan Thwaites), she is wary of the Titans now being in Gotham. Alicia Silverstone played a loosely based version of the character in Joel Schumacher’s “Batman & Robin.

Jeremy Carver has big things planned for Doom Patrol season 2. Literally.
The first season of the DC Universe series about super powered, and always bickering, misfits ended with most of the team shrunk to action-figure size. With the sophomore outing of the series debuting June 25, executive producer and showrunner Carver thinks it’s time for the characters to grow: physically and emotionally.
Along with waging war against near-omnipotent villain Mr. Nobody, as well as an apocalyptic cockroach, the team of outsider superheroes fought their internal demons, and one another, in a season that was comedic, surprisingly poignant, and delightfully bizarre.
Bizarre is part of the Doom Patrol DNA. Based on the DC comic created in 1963 by writers Arnold Drake, and Bob Haney, and artist Bruno Premiani, the book about Robotman, Negative Man, and Elasti-Girl took an even more eccentric direction when writer Grant Morrison took over in 1989. The arrival of WarnerMedia’s new streaming service, HBO Max, may have come with a little brand confusion here or there. But it’s hard to argue that the consolidation of all of Warner’s content onto one Internet hub hasn’t created opportunities for some HBO and/or Warner fans to branch outside their usual content comfort zone.
Now Warner is set to expand that comfort zone a little more by making some episodes of HBO Max’s Doom Patrol available to all for free in advance of the show’s second season premiere. On Monday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. Et/4:30 p.m. Pt, the first three episodes of Doom Patrol season 1 will be available on DC and Rooster Teeth’s YouTube channels outside of HBO Max’s paywall

Glen, who plays Ser Jorah Mormont on the HBO series, is the latest to join a growing cast list for season 2 of DC Universe’s flagship series. It appears Glen’s Wayne will be after his days fighting crime as the Caped Crusader.
Here’s how DC is describing Glen’s Wayne: After decades of fighting crime as Batman, billionaire Bruce Wayne is just as driven to protect Gotham from evil as he was in his prime. Needing to reconcile his relationship with Dick Grayson, the duo hope to forge a new dynamic as Bruce tries to help his former sidekick and the Titans achieve success.
“Titans” is also bringing in Superboy (Joshua Oprin), Deathstroke (Esai Morales) and Jericho (Chella Man) for season 2.
“Titans” is based on “Teen Titans,” DC’s long-running young superheroes team that first banded together in 1964 on the pages of DC’s “The Brave and the Bold” in a story by writer Bob Haney and artist Bruno Premiani. Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are executive producers for the series from Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
“Titans” was the flagship series for the DC Comics-branded streaming service, which launched last August. The service’s second series, “Doom Patrol,” debuted in February. DC Universe’s expansive roster of TV shows based on fellow DC Comics characters also includes Stargirl, Swamp Thing and Harley Quinn.
Glen’s casting comes as Warner Bros. is about to start the search for another big-screen Batman for Matt Reeves’ planned trilogy of films.

“Titans” is keeping it in the family with its latest addition to its expanded roster for season 2.
The DC Universe series is bringing in Chella Man as Joseph Wilson, better known as the hero Jericho. He’s also the son of the DC Comics villain Deathstroke, another new character joining “Titans” next season. Esai Morales was cast last week as the super assassin, whose real name is Slade Wilson.
Mute after his father failed to rescue him from having his vocal cords severed by assassins, Jericho has the unique ability to possess anyone just by making eye contact. This gentle-natured yet proud hero has proven himself a formidable Titan. Liam Hall plays a version of the character on The CW’s “Arrow.”
Along with Deathstroke, “Titans” is also adding Superboy (aka Conner Kent) for season 2.

DC Universe is adding Superboy for the second season of “Titans” and cast Australian actor Joshua Orpin in the role as a series regular.
The “Titans” version of Superboy is described as the angsty Teenager of Steel searching for purpose and the truth about his past. While looking for answers, he crashes into the world of the Titans and finds an unlikely home and surrogate family as well as revelations that carry more complications than he ever bargained for.
But before you ask, this character is not young Clark Kent/Kal-El.
Orpin will be playing Conner Kent, the second DC Comics character called Superboy. Created by Karl Kesel and Tom Grummett as part of DC’s 1992-1993 “The Death of Superman” crossover event, Conner is a clone intended to fill the void left by the apparent death of the Man of Steel. Believing himself to be a clone of Superman himself,...

The cast of DC Universe's Doom Patrol talks the Grant Morrison-iverse, chaotic order, and yes...that talking cockroach.
The following contains light spoilers for the pilot of Doom Patrol, which is available to stream on DC Universe now.
When describing to friends what makes his new superhero series unique, Doom Patrol star Alan Tudyk knows the moment they’ll blink themselves out of polite half-attention, lean forward and say “wait…what?”
“When I mention the donkey that farts sky writing it stops them,” he says.
Yes, as the weird-seekers among you may know by now, DC Universe’s Doom Patrol’s pilot concludes with the donkey familiar of Tudyk’s villainous Mr. Nobody farting and releasing gas into the sky that spells out “The mind is the limit.” There’s a born-again Evangelical talking cockroach thrown in there for good measure too.

We already have The Avengers and Justice League, but none of those superhero teams feature Brendan Fraser as a robot.
Enter “Doom Patrol,” the second live-action TV series from the DC Comics-branded streaming service, DC Universe. When the series premieres on Friday, think of them as more like a “Justice League” of misfits.
“‘Doom Patrol’ is a lot more like the misfits,” Sarah Schechter, an executive producer for the series, told TheWrap. “A lot of them — not necessarily Cyborg — but a lot of them would be side characters [in other series] and [we] let them be heroes of their own story, and see all the weird, really weird, wonderful places it goes.”

The Doom Patrol, the World's Strangest Heroes, are coming to DC Universe. Here's everything you need to know...
The Doom Patrol is an odd team to give a show to. At this point, they’re probably best known in the popular consciousness for starting Beast Boy’s career and then dying. Repeatedly. But they’re kind of a big deal, both in continuity and as an artifact of comics history. Why? Well aren’t you glad we’re here to tell you!
The World’s Strangest Heroes are a dense, intricate bunch, but we’ve examined them closely and are happy to introduce you to them ahead of their arrival on DC Universe.
Who Is The Doom Patrol?
Arnold Drake, Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani introduced the Doom Patrol in the pages of My Greatest Adventure in 1963. Titans did a surprisingly good job of summing the Doom Patrol...
