Nahnatchka Khan could have another series coming to ABC.
The “Fresh Off the Boat” creator is an executive producer on a pilot called “Valley Trash,” which has been picked up at the Disney-owned network. A single-cam comedy, “Valley Trash” hails from “Speechless” writer Niki Schwartz-Wright and is set to star “My Name is Earl” alumnus Jason Lee in a lead role.
The prospective series revolves around the Harmans, a scrappy, blue collar family living in the deep Valley who suddenly experience a major culture clash when their fourteen-year-old daughter, Abby, gets accepted to a prestigious La private high school filled with students and parents who want nothing to do with her, her family or their 818 area code.
Lee will play the role of Cal, a Southern, charming, slightly rough around the edges father of two whose number one passion in life is being a great dad and a loving husband.

NBC has given a straight-to-series order to Young Rock, a comedy starring Johnson that will chronicle Johnson's younger days before he became a wrestling superstar. Johnson's business partner, former WWE head writer Brian Gewirtz, is listed as a producer on the project as well.
NBC announced the new series, which has been ordered for 11 episodes — and Johnson will appear in all of them — during the Television Critics Association press tour on Saturday.

Earlier this morning, NBC revealed it had handed a straight-to-series order to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Nahnatchka Khan for Young Rock, a single-camera comedy that tells the story of the wrestling star and actor’s colorful early years.
After a technological mishap at the Winter TCA press tour, Johnson recorded a video, in which he outlined some of the stories of his “wild” and “unpredictable” life that will feature in the series.
“We’re going to find young Rock wreaking havoc in the streets of Hawaii, when I was a teenager, getting arrested seemingly every single week, doing things I shouldn’t have been doing, but still a good kid. Then we got evicted off the island, and moved to, of all places Nashville, Tennessee, where I continued to get in trouble,” he said.

At this point, Hollywood blockbuster stalwart Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is practically a franchise in his own right, as evidenced by this weekend’s news that the actor has a TV show on the way that’s inspired by his own life.
Deadline reports that NBC has given an 11-episode straight-to-series order to Young Rock, a single-camera comedy that chronicles the former pro wrestler’s formative years. The project comes from Johnson himself and Fresh Off the Boat creator and executive producer Nahnatchka Khan, the latter of whom co-wrote the pilot episode with Fresh Off the Boat co-executive producer Jeff Chiang.
Johnson is expected to appear in each episode of the show, having pitched the project with Khan to NBC. According to NBCEntertainment Chairman Paul Telegdy, the series “will feature Dwayne as he grows up through life,” adding that it’s “Dwayne’s life brought to life by a brilliant and soulful writer like Nahnatchka.
