General Hospital fans knew it was coming, but that doesn’t make it sting any less.
When Nicholas Alexander Chavez debuted as Spencer Cassadine, he was an immediate hit with the fan base. Couple that with pairing him with Trina, and magic was made.
Sprina fans were devastated when Spencer “died” after a fall off a boat with Esme (Avery Pohl). Initially, it was set to be a leave of absence while he filmed a Ryan Murphy project, but now it’s an official exit.
Speculation about whether Nicholas was out ran for at least a month, but he hadn’t spoken out until now.
The actor took to X (formerly Twitter) to put out his confirmation that his time on General Hospital had come to an end.

Is Spencer coming back to General Hospital? That’s a question Gh fans are asking after a recent episode.
Today, Gh fans saw Trina (Tabyana Ali) visit Spencer’s (Nicholas Chavez) grave after a talk with Aunt Stella (Vernee Johnson).
It’s been a struggle for Trina to accept Spencer’s death.
The fact that Spencer’s body was never found has only made things harder for her.
General Hospital fans know that when there’s no body in a death, it almost always means a character will return.
So, is that the case for Spencer? Let’s take a look at what we know.
Is Spencer coming back to General Hospital?
The answer to whether Spencer is coming back to Gh is yes. Having Spencer die was never meant to be a long-term thing, nor was it meant to be dragged out.
It was simply a way to write out Nicholas Chavez.

In 2022, Netflix and showrunner Ryan Murphy released Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story to mixed reviews and a tremendous amount of controversy.
While the series received acclaim from some critics for its performances and its unflinching portrayal of Dahmer's grisly crimes, others felt that the show went too far in humanizing the monster at its core.
Now, Murphy is preparing to court controversy again, this time with the story of Erik and Lyle Menendez.
The Menendez brothers are far more sympathetic figures than Dahmer, but the fact remains that they committed two brutal murders, which the show will likely depict in graphic detail.
Their murder trial became a national sensation when it was broadcast on Court TV in 1993, but our younger readers might be hearing the Menendez name for the first time.
So here's a rundown of what you can expect from a show that's sure to generate a lot...

Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny have joined “Monster” Season 2 at Netflix, Variety has learned.
The two A-listers join previously announced stars Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez in the upcoming season of the anthology series, which will focus on the Menéndez brothers. The season is officially titled “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story” and is slated to debut later in 2024.
Erik (Koch) and Lyle Menéndez (Chavez) were convicted of the murders of their parents, José (Bardem) and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menéndez (Sevigny), in 1996. Authorities argued the brothers committed the murders to inherit their father’s fortune, while the brothers maintained that they killed their parents after years of mental and physical abuse.
“Monster” was co-created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. Both serve as executive producers along with Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, David McMillan, Louise Shore, and Carl Franklin. The first season focused on serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny have been tapped to star opposite Nicholas Chavez and Cooper Koch in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, the second season of the acclaimed Netflix crime anthology Monster from creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan.
The pair will respectively play Jose and Kitty Menendez, the Beverly Hills couple murdered by sons Lyle (Chavez) and Erik (Koch). The new season comes on the heels of Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which starred Evan Peters as the notorious serial killer and quickly became one of Netflix’s most popular English-language series ever when it debuted in September 2022.
It was in 1989 that Lyle and Erik Mendendez murdered parents Jose and Kitty in their L.A.-area home. Although not initially looked at as prime suspects, they came under investigation in the months following and eventually confessed to parricide, at the same time claiming that their actions stemmed from years of physical,...

Nicholas Alexander Chavez will be checking out of General Hospital — but only temporarily — as he films a starring role in Monsters: The Menendez Brothers, the second season of Netflix’s Monster series. According to TVLine, Chavez will take a temporary leave of absence from Gh to shoot Monsters, though it’s unclear when the latter show will start filming, given the ongoing writers’ strike. Chavez has played Spencer Carradine on General Hospital since 2021, appearing in more than 260 episodes of the ABC daytime drama and winning a Daytime Emmy for his performance in 2022. Nick Argo/ABC How Spencer will be written out of the Gh storyline is unknown, though TVLine reports that producers of the long-running soap don’t plan to recast the part during Chavez’s absence. As Variety previously reported, Chavez and Cooper Koch (Power Book II: Ghost) will play the title characters of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

The ten episode series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (read our review Here) was such a huge success for the Netflix streaming service last fall, Netflix ordered two more seasons of the show from creators Ian Brennan and American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy. Last month, it was announced that the second season will be titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story – and Deadline reports that Nicholas Alexander Chavez (General Hospital) and Cooper Koch (They/Them) have been cast in the lead roles, with Chavez playing Lyle and Koch playing Erik.
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will tell the story of the brothers, who were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents. José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez were fatally shot in their Beverly Hills home in 1989. Erik and Lyle were not the initial suspects in the killings, though police began to investigate their involvement in the months after.

"Not for the squeamish." Uh oh. Momentum Pics has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Swallowed, the latest from filmmaker Carter Smith. It premiered at a few genre festivals last year, including at Fantasia and Overlook. Not to be confused with the other body horror film Swallow, with Haley Bennett, this one is a bit different. The film follows two best friends on their final night together in a small town, with a nightmare of drugs and bugs and horrific intimacy. "Dripping with blood and pus, Swallowed is queer body horror with all the naked flesh and shocking violations of a classic midnight movie." Starring Jena Malone, Mark Patton, Cooper Koch, and Jose Colon. This trailer seems a bit tame, or they don't seem to want to show all the gross stuff, with only a few quick glimpses near the end. Still seems disgusting. ›››

Back in 2008, Carter Smith directed what I consider to be one of the most unsettling movies ever made, The Ruins (based on the equally unnerving book of the same name by Scott Smith), so it's no surprise his new movie, Swallowed, was one of the most nerve-fraying films I saw last year (winning the Jury Prize for Scariest Feature Film at Popcorn Frights). I'm thrilled that Swallowed will be coming to VOD and Digital on February 14th via Momentum Pictures, and we have a look at the tense trailer ahead of its Valentine's Day release!

’00s teenagers and fans of particularly gnarly horror will remember The Ruins fondly; a rare, hyper-gory post-Saw squirm-a-thon that’s only won more fans in the years since its first bow. Director and photographer Carter Smith’s latest however – only his second feature since that cult debut in 2006 – is a completely different animal entirely. A thinner, cheaper, queerer and potentially more interesting thriller that shifts both gears, and genres, throughout.

The film is directed by Carter Smith, known for cult horror film “The Ruins.” It follows two childhood friends, Benjamin and Dom, who are on the verge of being separated as the former is leaving rural Maine for Los Angeles. Dom has a plan to send Benjamin off with a pocketful of cash — all they have to do is deliver a package across the border. But things spiral wildly out of control when the package turns out to be something far more dangerous than they could have ever imagined.

“They/Them,” a new Blumhouse slasher that promises a queer take on the horror genre, is set to go straight to streaming on Peacock next month. But before that, the film received a full in-person theatrical screening, as the closing night premiere of Los Angeles queer film festival Outfest.
“This is the perfect place,” Kevin Bacon, who plays the film’s chief villain Owen Whistler, told Variety on the red carpet.
“They/Them” is a slasher horror film set in a gay conversion therapy camp. “When we learned we were going to be in Outfest, let alone the closing night, we were absolutely thrilled,” Bacon said. “I don’t generally get to see my films with an audience, especially these days. When they’re made for a platform, you don’t get a chance to see how it plays. So this is really exciting.”
