For those who remember, the game show Press Your Luck relied a lot on good timing. In a very roulette-like manner, contestants would watch squares on a board randomly be highlighted until they prompt it to stop in order to get the prize it halted on. An amazing episode in 1984 would have a contestant endlessly receiving good luck as he won big money every time he called, “Stop!” His fortune would be called into question as he would get accused of cheating on the show. Deadline has now shared the first look at Press Your Luck — a movie that will depict the events of that episode and all the controversy surrounding it, starring Paul Walter Hauser as the fateful contestant.
The synopsis, according to Deadline, reads,
“Set in 1984, the film follows Ohio resident Michael Larson, who steps on to the set of game show Press Your Luck harboring a secret:...

Paul Walter Hauser has added another project to a packed upcoming slate.
The Emmy and Golden Globe winner, who in the last few weeks alone has been tapped to play Chris Farley in Josh Gad’s biopic and has joined the cast of both “Fantastic Four” and the “Naked Gun” reboot, is to lead “Press Your Luck,” a drama-thriller based on the true story of Michael Larson. Protagonist Pictures has unveiled the drama-thriller — from Plenty Good in co-production with Fabula — alongside a first look image and will handle international sales, while CAA Media Finance represents North American rights.
Set in 1984, “Press Your Luck” follows Larson, an unemployed truck driver from Ohio who stepped onto the game show “Press Your Luck” harbouring a secret: the key to endless amounts of money. But his winning streak gets threatened when the executives in the control room start to uncover his real motivations.

Tom Green has cancer. It is early 2000, and he is about to go under for surgery, and guess what? He’s recording the whole thing because he would like to educate you on the world of testicular cancer, and if you can see his internal organs while doing so, so be it. And so there he is at 28 years old in a hospital gown, making jokes while medical professionals get ready to chop off one of his nuts. “This is going to freaking suck,” he says. But, if we know anything about him, nothing is off limits for Tom Green. It was the ultimate combination of tragedy and comedy; you have a young man in his prime facing death while telling the world’s greatest testicle joke. This comedian turned cancer into performance art, which made me believe God might have a twisted sense of humor… kinda like Tom Green himself.

If you've ever watched a "Jackass" movie or episode, Steve-o explodes off the screen as a man who enjoys his life. Why, then, does he seem so hellbent on jeopardizing it?
With the possible exception of Johnny Knoxville, no member of the daredevil troupe has performed gnarlier stunts than Steve-o. Over the years, we've seen him shimmy across a tightrope over an alligator pool with a raw chicken dangling from his underwear, wear a Peruvian jellyfish as a sombrero, and sustain repeated genital trauma via all kinds of inventively stupid methods. On the serious side, he battled drug addiction for over a decade before getting completely sober in 2008.
You might think clear-headedness would instill a strong sense of self-preservation in Steve-o, but subjecting his body to all manner of punishment and indignity is what he lives for. Indeed, when the Jackass boys are on a break,...

Four episodes into Disney+ and Hulu’s Goosebumps, two characters take a beat to reflect on everything they’ve been through. “You know, our parents are sleeping together, there’s a ghost kind of haunting us, and I’m vomiting up worms, and now we’re having like a sleepover or something,” one says. “Yeah, throw in a long-lost sibling and a rich grandmother and you’ve got a soap opera on your hands,” the other cracks. And that’s without even getting into the clone army or the prophetic camera or the weird new teacher or decades-long mystery binding their families together.
It’s a lot for any one show to handle, and Goosebumps stumbles. Where the R.L. Stine books dished out zippy, mostly standalone adventures, Rob Letterman and Nicholas Stoller’s series adaptation increasingly gets bogged down trying to deliver supernatural horror and angsty teen drama and a...

What a tough film to stomach.
Buying Back My Daughter gives an incredibly unflinching look at sex trafficking and certainly earned every bit of the trigger warning it put out at the start of the film.
No matter how cognizant we become of this pervasive issue, it never stops being shocking and abhorrent when we even glimpse what the trafficking world looks like, particularly for young women.
Meagan Good starred in, and executive produced this piece, which was undoubtedly inspired by far too many tales to give voice to regarding this particular stain on society.
She put forth an impressive and understandably heartwrenching performance as a woman utterly devoted to finding and saving her eldest daughter from a life that no mother should ever have to imagine.

At the end of Mel Brooks' 1981 sketch comedy film "History of the World, Part I" (a movie /Film once ranked higher than "The Producers"), the director included a preview for the inevitable sequel and some of the segments that might be seen therein. Whereas Brooks explored the Stone Age, Ancient Rome, and Revolutionary France in "Part I," "Part II" was to feature a Viking funeral, "Hitler on Ice," and the distant future of "Jews in Space." In 2023, the mythic second part finally came to fruition — as a six-part miniseries — with the 96-year-old Brooks writing and producing along with an entire team of the comedy world's biggest stars. Wanda Sykes, Ike Barinhotlz, Nick Kroll, and David Stassen are credited as the primary writers, and the sketches are presented in shorter snippets, skipping merrily back and forth in time.

In Liquid Death’s rollout for their new iced tea beverages, a little caffeine goes a long way. Grannies playing brutal death metal? Check. Grannies grinding rails on their skateboards? Check. Grannies shooting bottle rockets out of their nether regions? Uh… check.
The 80-second ad is complete debauchery; though, to be fair, the grannies in question appear to be either real metal musicians or stunt actors in costume. Still, it’s a ton of fun and a humorous callback to Monty Python’s “Hell’s Grannies” sketch.
“We grew up on Monty Python and Jackass, so it’s no surprise we made an homage to some of our heroes,” Liquid Death VP of creative Andy Pearson told the advertising site Muse. The flavors of the new iced tea line include the cleverly named Grim Leafer, Armless Palmer, and Rest In Peach.

The Jackass series debuted on MTV in 2000, quickly becoming one of the most popular television shows. It followed the antics of a group of friends as they engaged in outrageous stunts, pranks, and dangerous physical challenges. The show cast included Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-o, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Dave England, Preston Lacy, and Ryan Dunn.
Despite parental and political worries about the show’s potential impact on younger viewers, it quickly skyrocketed in popularity. After three seasons of wading through constant censorship notes from MTV, Knoxville and his pals decided to end their run; thus began, Jackass’ successful transition to the silver screen era.
The Jackass franchise spawned several movies that were released between 2002 and 2022, in the following order:
All the Jackass Movies in Order of Release Date Jackass The Movie (2002) Jackass Number Two (2006) Jackass 2.5 (2007) Jackass Presents Mat Hoffman’s Tribute to Evel Knievel (2008) Jackass 3D (2010) Jackass 3.5 (2011) Jackass Presents...
