A combination of "24" and "Columbiana". Terrific!
I was compelled to write a review because the writing, the acting, and the action is so good! I am a reviewer and movie/ show watcher who approaches things from the 'glass half theory'.
Meaning I first look at the positives and then the negatives. I also either like it or I don't. There's always a middle ground too.
"Lioness" is not only far from average, it's got everything!
Terrific acting, dialogue, action!
Zoe Saldana is sexy and beautiful and just like her boss played by Nicole Kidman, they are both badass women inside American espionage and military. Both are America's defense against worldwide terrorism. What's also helpful to the viewer is all though this is a cable TV Series (Paramount) it has a big movie budget.
The production team does not waste their budget, its' streamlined, practical, and flawless execution of production value.
As I mentioned in the title it has all the excitement of "24" and "Columbiana"! Remember the TV show and the movie? Both were top notch.
I don't mind the family problems and teenage drama. As a parent, I get it. It works well for me. I keep thinking the terrorists are gonna get to Joe's (Zoe Saldana) family. (I hope not, but could see it happening)
Obviously I haven't finished the series yet. And I don't have too, to write this review.
"Lioness" is so good and I highly recommend it. This is one of the first reviews that I have done that I have no issues with the content. My other reviewers about past classics and well done movies / TV shows are obvious.
I haven't checked but I really want a second season for the "Lioness"!!!
