Exclusive: Skye Townsend (Black Lady Sketch Show) has joined the cast of the CBS comedy The Neighborhood for Season 6 in a recurring role. The show returns with new episodes on February 12.
Townsend’s character Courtney is loosely based on Sarah Francis Jones, girlfriend of The Neighborhood star Marcel Spears, and her real-life experience going into labor at a Beyoncé Renaissance concert.
Courtney is described as very smart—she entered MIT at 16 and worked at Jpl before 21— very cool, very outgoing and with a great sense of humor. She worked with Marty (Spears) at Jpl and he’s recently hired her as an electrical engineer at The Fuse Box. A few months back, they hooked up and now Courtney is pregnant. She’s very upfront about the fact that she likes Marty, but she won’t marry him.
Additionally, Kevin Pollak will also return in Season 6 as Dave Johnson’s (Max Greenfield) father.

A new, darker era is just around the corner for Bond, James Bond. Dynamite Entertainment has announced that a brand new "James Bond" comic book series is set to hit shelves early next year, with none other than Garth Ennis writing the upcoming adventures for 007. Ennis, known for his work on "The Boys" and "Preacher," promises to bring a darker edge to the character more closely associated with author Ian Fleming's literary creation.
"When I took a look at the Bond of the Fleming novels, as opposed to the larger-than-life figure from the movies, I saw a great deal more potential — a much darker character in a more interesting world," Ennis said in a press release. 2023 marks the 70th anniversary of Bond, with the character first appearing in Fleming's "Casino Royale" in 1953. This announcement was made as part of the celebration. As for what Ennis has in store for Bond?...

Here’s something to make you happy that seasons of The Neighborhood are still coming out on DVD: TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the gag reel, a common feature on such sets, proves it’s hilarious. The clip from the Season 4 DVD (out on July 19) begins with Cedric the Entertainer (who plays Calvin Butler) making his castmates laugh, then Beth Behrs (who plays Gemma Johnson) finds herself laughing so hard that she has to step outside. “I don’t know how I’m supposed to act under these circumstances,” Max Greenfield (who plays Dave Johnson) says after she pokes her head back in the door to explain. “All I do is act under duress on this show.” Watch the video above to see the specifics of these two funny moments. Season 4 saw next-door neighbors Calvin and Dave, now good friends, rocked by an unexpected twist in the premiere...

"I like your black eye." A must watch short film - one of the best of the year so far. Wyrm is a short written and directed by Christopher Winterbauer, that originally premiered in 2017 and is now available online after playing on the festival circuit for a while. The nerdy-retro short is about a kid in school who must kiss someone in order to have his My.E.Q. Remote Monitoring collar removed. It's making fun of the feeling that you have to achieve some kind of romantic contact in order to progress in life. And while Winterbauer says Lanthimos's The Lobster was an inspiration, he did originally come up with the idea for this when he was 15 and afraid he was behind everyone else kissing a girl. Starring Reid Miller as Wyrm, with Azure Brandi, Skye Popov, Aidan Dorn Wallenstein, Davey Johnson. (And the voice of Bob Odenkirk.) There's...

Short of the DayEver laughed and cried at the same time?
Breaking up is hard to do. Everybody knows that, there’s a billion songs about it, including one I stole that first sentence from. But some break ups are much, much, much harder than others, and those typically result from one of the two involved parties’ vehement resistance to the dissolution of love. You might not think one such of these situations would be fodder for comedy, but in the case of Break Down, you’d be wrong.
To be sure, Break Down is a dark comedy, but in its darkness there’s a sense of mockery that balances sadness with absurdity, resulting in a short that’s far more laughs than tears. For the audience, at least.
Charlie just wants out of her relationship with David. She has her reasons, she’s even written them down, two full pages, and...
