Ever since X-Men ’97 was revived by Marvel Studios, the superhero landscape has entered into a pseudo-nostalgic era, where audiences have begun to reminisce about the good old days, when animated series were the go-to format for good superhero fiction. Almost immediately, there was a demand to bring back other animated series, not just from Marvel, but other studios that had previously produced great superhero content like Batman Beyond.

The casting and voice director of the show, Andrea Romano, might just have told fans how they could get it if they wished for it enough.

Batman Beyond remains one of the greatest versions of the Dark Knight, following Terry McGinnis in the city of Neo Gotham, as he is mentored by Bruce Wayne in a cyberpunk setting. The show was unceremoniously canceled, despite its great premise and ratings, in favor of Justice League Unlimited, which also ended the show officially in its episode Epilogue.
Batman Beyond
Bruce Timm, in conversation with Think McFly Think, revealed the original ending that the show was supposed to have, which has a rather Star Wars quality to it. The original ending would also have been a direct-to-video film, much like The Return of the Joker.
The original ending of Batman Beyond was to reveal Bruce Wayne as Terry McGinnis’ biological father
Terry McGinnis and Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond
Bruce Timm had a lot to say about Batman Beyond, especially when it came to the ideas about the ending of the show.

The Bear is one of those rare stories that comes along once in a blue moon. It doesn't get by on flashy CG, explosions, or modded-out race cars flying down the streets.
Witty dialogue, high stress, and intense drama fuel this machine, and perhaps that's why so many big-name actors are attracted to its frenzied undercurrents.
Kudos to the creative team assembled under the banner of The Bear. They've created a fantastic ride, thrumming with intensity and entertainment without needing to spend a fortune.
They're clearly doing something right. Series creator Christopher Storer (bolstered by incredible writers like Joanna Calo) nails the pace and character beats while accomplishing a rare feat within the industry, perfecting the art of the cameo appearance.
Cameos are often tricky for several reasons. They tend to disrupt the immersive nature of the story. As a prime example, everyone is still trying to forget Ed Sheeran...

The DC Animated Universe wouldn’t be what it is today if it were not for Bruce Timm. The legendary DC icon’s contribution to the tales of Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond is irrefutable. And yet, the artist’s reach can only extend so far in giving the audience hope of a new era of comics and their adaptations.

However, Bruce Timm’s authority does reach Batman Beyond for being essential in its creation and successful execution during a period of extreme turmoil at DC. After decades of hoping to witness Terry McGinnis back in action, the dream could finally get a shot at coming true.

The BBC sitcom Terry & June is available to stream unedited in full, but a warning at the start of it has left one MP demanding his country back.
Starring June Whitfield and Terry Scott, the BBC sitcom Terry & June was a big hit for the corporation, particularly in the 1980s. It debuted in 1979, ran through until 1987, and the show has been made available to stream in full via the BritBox service.
To the best of my knowledge, not a single frame of the show has been edited or altered. In spite of if being a programme very much of its time, the decision has been made to leave the material in tact, and instead just add a warning at the start.
This seems a decent way of doing things. Retrospectively censoring material to modern sensitivities is a dangerous and evolving path. Letting people wander unwarned into family-targeted viewing...

The Most Precious of Cargoes, the first animated feature from Oscar-winning French director Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist), will open this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
The feature is a 2D animated adaptation of the best-selling book by French author Jean-Claude Grumberg. Set during World War II, it tells the story of a French Jewish family deported to Auschwitz. On the train to the death camp, in a desperate gesture, the father throws one of his baby twins out into the snow, where he’s discovered by a childless Polish couple living deep in the forest.
Hazanavicius presented the film as a work-in-progress at Annecy two years ago. French actor Jean-Louis Trintignant narrates the film with voice acting from Dominique Blanc, Denis Podalydès, and Grégory Gadebois. Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water) composed the score. Animation is from 3.0 Studio – formerly Prima Linea — the group behind the...

Back in 2023, Warner Bros. were gearing up for the release of one of the last movies to come out of the Dceu. The Flash, starring Ezra Miller in the lead, and directed by Andy Muschetti, had a lot hanging on its shoulders. The movie was supposed to be the vessel to reboot the Dceu to give way for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s Dcu.
A still from The Flash (2023)
Though fans weren’t sold on Ezra Miller’s involvement after their various scandals came to light, the reviews coming from the who’s who of Hollywood had them holding on to hope. From Tom Cruise to Stephen King, many celebrities came in defense of the movie, lauding it as one of the best superhero movies ever made. Unfortunately, the movie’s reception was not what anyone had hoped, and The Flash ended up being one ofe the worst features from Dceu.

First-time feature director Theda Hammel looks straight into the sun of the Covid summer of 2020 — PPE, GrubHub, lazy liberal gesturing, and all — with “Stress Positions.”
The Brooklyn screwball comedy, set around the Fourth of July weekend that year, asks us to relive the days of sheltering in place and banging pots and pans in solidarity with healthcare workers while doing little else but navel-gazing at our own misfortune indoors. With a chatty ensemble led by John Early as Terry, a gaping wound of an idler reeling from a herniated disc and an ongoing breakup with his husband, “Stress Positions” sounds on paper like the coronavirus indie we’d like to ignore so as not to re-traumatize ourselves. But where many of the Covid-reacting films we saw spin out of 2020 were tethered to Zoom, “Stress Positions” goes straight into the “hell mouth” of the moments lived off Zoom.

Batman will go down in history as one of the most iconic superheroes of all time. Over the years, we have seen many iterations of the Caped Crusader in multiple animated series, movies, and video games. However, most of these iterations revolve around Bruce Wayne’s version of Batman.

Batman Beyond was considered one of the most popular animated series back in the day. The series revolves around the story of Terry McGinnis, a teenage boy who is being trained by Bruce Wayne aka Batman himself to become his successor and watch over Gotham City. This is because The Caped Crusader has become too old himself.

The Los Angeles Times is removing “interim” from executive editor Terry Tang’s job title.
The newspaper announced on Monday that it was making things official with its former editorial page editor, who was elevated to the leadership role on a provisional basis in January. “We’re thrilled to have Terry Tang leading the L.A. Times newsroom,” owners Patrick and Michele Soon-Shiong said in a statement. “We made a decision in December to make changes in leadership to revitalize the L.A. Times. Terry in short order has demonstrated the capability of building on our legacy of excellence in journalism with stories that matter.”
In particular, the Soon-Shiongs highlighted Tang’s comprehension of their mission to make the paper “a thriving pillar of democracy” and to highlight the “issues that matter most, especially for those whose voices are often unheard.” Tang also understands that the paper must build new audiences...

Many stars have voiced the character of Bruce Wayne’s version of Batman over the years since that is the most popular version of Batman. However, only a handful of actors have been blessed with the opportunity to voice Terry McGinnis’ version of Batman and Will Friedle is one of them.

Friedle once even mentioned how he got the role of the character and revealed that it was Bruce Timm’s wife who suggested him in the first place.

Batman Beyond was considered one of the most popular animated series back in the day. The series revolves around the story of Terry McGinnis, a teenage boy who is being trained by Bruce Wayne aka Batman himself to become his successor and watch over Gotham City as The Caped Crusader has become too old.

While Batman Beyond was a phenomenon upon its release, lauded as one of the best Batman stories told onscreen, the creators never really expanded on it after its initial run. Even 25 years after its debut, Return of the Joker remains its only feature film, which failed to make it big during its DVD release for being too dark for kids.
However, per Bruce Timm’s long-time collaborator Butch Lukic, there were once talks about revisiting Terry McGinnis’ story, but unfortunately, the idea never took off the ground.

Haven't any of these politicians heard they should be careful what they wish for?
They all try to get Frank to do what they want, but it never works out the way they expect.
On Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 5, Tate Donovan's character was the latest person to insist Frank come to a meeting Frank didn't want to attend, and as usual, it didn't work out as expected.
Frank's stance on the Teamster Union idea was confusing. He told the Dream Team he was for it in principle, told Terry he was against it, and told his family he saw both pros and cons.
Frank is usually intractable because his decisions are based on deeply held values, so the inconsistency didn't make much sense.
Still, he followed the tried-and-true Frank Reagan formula of dealing with politicians who want him to co-sign opinions he disagrees with. He always refuses to attend the meeting,...

“Not everyone is trans!” Terry Goon exclaims as tensions reach a climax over his nephew Bahlul’s birthday cake. It’s the summer of 2020, amid the height of Covid panic in New York City, so the only other person present is Terry’s friend Karla, who invited herself under the pretense of treating Terry’s back pain. But she’s mainly there to get a look at Bahlul, a young male model whose presence has captured the imagination of Terry’s friends.
Karla is trans and Bahlul wants to hear her story. She tells him he’d make a cute woman. Terry does not want to corrupt his nephew, who grew up in Morocco, or anger his Muslim sister. But he spends so much time worrying about this corruption that he never stops to think that maybe Bahlul is there because he wants to be part of his uncle’s world.

Exclusive: Desean Terry (The Morning Show) and Nikkole Salter are partnering to adapt and executive produce Salter’s play Lines in the Dust into a feature film under Terry’s Think Switch Entertainment banner. Terry is also set to direct.
Loosely inspired by real-life cases, Lines in the Dust shines a light on the issue of school residency fraud against the backdrop of Newark, NJ. The play, like its film adaptation, delves into this silent crime prevalent across America, particularly in communities of color. The film will tell the story of a Black woman facing prosecution for this crime, highlighting the systemic inequities and challenges faced by marginalized communities in accessing quality education for their children.
Salter, a Los Angeles-born, Obie Award-winning actress and dramatist, arrived onto the scene with her co-authorship and co-performance with Danai Gurira (Black Panther) of the Pulitzer Prize-nominated play In the Continuum.

That meant the good guys won this final battle but is happiness on the horizon?

General Hospital spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) is spinning out and no one knows why. Slowly but surely, Sonny has distanced himself from everyone who cares about him, except Ava Jerome (Maura West).
This seems like a strange decision given Sonny and Ava’s history. But unknown to anyone, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has taken over the Pikeman Organization from Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure), who is serving time in Pentonville after being caught by Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zomprogna).

During a recent discussion between Valentin and Brennan, they revealed that they were responsible for the death’s of former mob bosses who have outlived their usefulness to the group.

Instead, like Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was forced to do by the FBI’s John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) he’s infiltrated Pikeman for the Wsb and is playing Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure).
General Hospital Spoilers – Valentin Cassadine Has Old Pikeman Contacts
Without a doubt, Valentin does have old Pikeman contacts from his mercenary days when he did help run Pikeman Security Group. But when Sonny was first put in contact with them, Valentin warned him to watch his back with them-why would he do that if he was out to kill him?

Despite being intended for kids, Batman: The Animated Series didn’t shy away from delving into heavy and mature themes, making it the most definitive version of Batman to be put on screen. Following in its footsteps, Bruce Timm would go on to work in several more acclaimed DC animated projects, with the most notable of them all being 1999’s Batman Beyond.
And while 1999 wasn’t the best time for the caped crusader following the failure of Batman & Robin, Batman Beyond‘s success was enough to warrant a feature film, Return of the Joker. Even though many count it among the best Batman animated films out there, on par with 2010’s Under the Red Hood, unfortunately, meeting the release guidelines for the film was torturous for Timm.

"Be free! Fiction is freedom!" Neon has revealed an official trailer for a totally bonkers indie comedy titled Stress Positions, marking the feature directorial debut of trans filmmaker Theda Hammel (also of the series "My Trip to Spain"). This premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival in the Dramatic Competition section, and it's also playing at New Directors/New Films in NYC in April before it opens in select theaters later in April as well. Everyone is falling apart in “Stress Positions,” the Sundance premiere now opening in U.S. theaters from Neon on April 19.
The anxiety-inducing comedy directed by Theda Hammel, which she co-wrote with Faheem Ali, centers on a cluster of Brooklyn-dwelling New Yorkers spiraling during the first Covid summer of 2020 and also reeling from their own hang-ups, breakdowns, and break-ups. There’s his Moroccan nephew Bahlul (Qaher Harhash), a beautiful model badly injured with a broken leg and convalescing at said brownstone, with nowhere else to go and identity questions of his own. Then there’s Terry’s best friend, Karla (also played by director Hammel), a trans massage therapist in a shitty relationship with a writer (Amy Zimmer), reaping...
