General Hospital fans knew it was coming, but that doesn’t make it sting any less.
When Nicholas Alexander Chavez debuted as Spencer Cassadine, he was an immediate hit with the fan base. Couple that with pairing him with Trina, and magic was made.
Sprina fans were devastated when Spencer “died” after a fall off a boat with Esme (Avery Pohl). Initially, it was set to be a leave of absence while he filmed a Ryan Murphy project, but now it’s an official exit.
Speculation about whether Nicholas was out ran for at least a month, but he hadn’t spoken out until now.

In 2022, Netflix and showrunner Ryan Murphy released Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story to mixed reviews and a tremendous amount of controversy.
While the series received acclaim from some critics for its performances and its unflinching portrayal of Dahmer's grisly crimes, others felt that the show went too far in humanizing the monster at its core.
Now, Murphy is preparing to court controversy again, this time with the story of Erik and Lyle Menendez.
The Menendez brothers are far more sympathetic figures than Dahmer, but the fact remains that they committed two brutal murders, which the show will likely depict in graphic detail.
Their murder trial became a national sensation when it was broadcast on Court TV in 1993, but our younger readers might be hearing the Menendez name for the first time.
So here's a rundown of what you can expect from a show that's sure to generate a lot...

Set to air on March 2, 2024, at 10:00 Pm Et/Pt on the CBS Television Network and available for streaming on Paramount+, this episode promises to delve into the heart of the Menendez brothers’ quest for justice.
From the outset, the Menendez case has been nothing short of sensational. Super producer Ryan Murphy, who has produced and written iconic projects such as Glee, American Horror Story and Scream Queens, is leaving Netflix for Disney to reconcile with his old friend, Dana Walden. Murphy worked with Walden when he was under contract with 20th Century Fox TV when she helmed the division.
Walden, a good friend of Murphy’s, is now the chairwoman of Disney Entertainment.
Murphy’s agreement with Netflix doesn’t finish until the end of June and when it does, he will be able to work again with his longtime partner, FX’s John Landgraf, who serves as the chairman of the organization, which is also part-owned by Disney.
ABC, another Disney network, paid for ownership of 9-1-1, a drama that Murphy developed for Fox in 2018.
The choice to exit Netflix for Disney comes five years after he joined the streamer in a blockbuster $300 million agreement.

Lyle was 21 at the time; Erik was 18. The crime was committed in their family’s Beverly Hills mansion with shotguns they had bought just days before. In the title announcement video above, audio from Lyle’s infamous 9-1-1 call is played. “Somebody killed my parents!” he cries. The brothers weren’t...

Convicted murderers Erik and Lyle Menéndez will serve as the focal point of the forthcoming second season of Monster, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s Netflix series that delved into the horrors of Jeffrey Dahmer in its award-winning first season. The announcement trailer for the new season sets the scene as “August 20, 1989” and “Beverly Hills, CA” flash across the screen before it fades to black. Once the chilling audio subsides, a 911 dispatcher answers...

"I burst into tears. I had to walk a long way to see him...when he got brought over in a van, I was able to see him coming off and meet with him and I wasn't sure how I would react," Lyle Menendez told DailyMailTV in 2018, describing his emotional prison reunion with younger brother Erik Menendez after 22 years apart. "I just felt a lot of adrenaline and just, I ended up bursting into tears, which is quite an emotional moment... just wonderful as you'd expect." Finally one of Lyle's half-dozen transfer requests had been granted that February without fanfare, and two months later he was moved into the same housing unit as Erik at Richard J. Donovan Correctional...

For many, the O.J. Simpson murder trial remains the most memorable real-life sordid saga to play out on television, day after day for almost 16 months, until the words "not guilty" rang out on Oct. 3, 1995. Court TV played an out-sized role in that wall-to-wall coverage, the all-legal-drama-all-the-time cable network showing the daily proceedings in Cspan-like fashion and then blanketing its lineup with analysis, interviews and reporting on all things O.J. But by the time the Simpson trial came along, Court TV was more than ready, having already shown that one case could be the end-all and be-all of unscripted entertainment. On the night of Aug. 20, 1989, 21-year-old Lyle Menendez and his...

Miles Gaston Villanueva (Law & Order True Crime) is set for a major recurring role on Fox’s medical drama The Resident.
Villanueva will play Alec, a born innovator, a loner and iconoclast who has spent a lifetime on the move. His father was an eccentric and Alec lived part of his childhood in a converted school bus. He studied to be an infectious disease doctor, but after a stint volunteering with Partners in Health on a Navajo reservation, he embraced a vision of medicine that tries to alter lifestyle via community outreach to prevent, rather than treat, illness. Alec is tender with patients but blunt with everyone else. And yet he is a charmer. His relationships with women tended in the past to lack deep roots. Whenever it was necessary, he moved on.
Created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore and Roshan Sethi, The Resident stars Matt Czuchry, Bruce Greenwood,...

It's not uncommon for the wives or confidants of famous criminals to pen novels about their experiences with the convicted — think My Friend Dahmer or The Stranger Beside Me. What is uncommon, however, is for the author to be in such great denial about the reality of their situation. Which is seemingly the case with Tammi Menendez, wife of convicted murderer Erik Menendez. In her 2005 memoir They Said We'd Never Make It: My Life With Erik Menendez, Tammi described her deeply strained marriage with Erik — who was convicted of a double life sentence without parole for the 1989 murder of his parents. In excerpts obtained by Radar Online, Tammi wrote, "I cry myself to sleep. I didn’t realize it would be this difficult.” Question is, what did she expect? Additionally, the now 56-year-old blamed the prison system for the distance in her marriage to Erik. "Being married to you is a hard and painful life.

Erik and Lyle Menendez, two brothers convicted of murdering their parents in Beverly Hills in 1989, are reunited in the same California state prison after having been kept apart in separate prisons since their convictions in 1996, more than 20 years ago.
Lyle Menendez made a transfer request from Mule Creek State Prison in Northern California to the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, according to CNN, which cited a spokesperson for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Lyle Menendez was transferred on Feb. 22, but on Wednesday, he was moved into the same housing unit as his brother Erik.

According to CNN, the prison board saw no reason why Erik and Lyle should be kept apart. They’ve each been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
On Aug. 20, 1989, Lyle and and Erik shot their wealthy parents in their mansion using shotguns they bought just days before the murders. Their father had been a successful Cuban-American business executive, while their mother was a homemaker and a socialite. Both had been shot in the kneecap (among other wounds) which made authorities believe the brothers wanted it to look like a mob hit.
The Menendez case was highly publicized and has been the subject of a recent ABC documentary, “Truth and Lies: The Menendez Brothers – American Sons, American Murderers,” which dug into the family’s more troubled history than originally understood. It was a ratings juggernaut.
The brothers were also the subject of a “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders” in 2017, starring Edie Falco as their defense attorney Leslie Abramson.

If you're ever itching to watch a true crime movie, you know that Lifetime has some of the best. They've focused on plenty of big stories, like those of Casey Anthony, Natalee Holloway, and Erik and Lyle Menendez. But they've also made movies based on crimes you may have never even heard of that are just as eerie and awful as the ones that captured headlines for years. What's even creepier than watching a movie about a famous serial killer, like The Capture of the Green River Killer, is discovering the movie you just watched is based on a real-life murder that seems too crazy to be true. Yep, some of your favorite Lifetime movies are based on real murders and kidnappings that will seriously haunt you. Because the idea that someone like the assailant from The Girl in the Box could really exist is so much more frightening than...
