Brie Larson is widely regarded as “pretty cool,” mostly because she tends to do things that are pretty cool. She was in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, she was in a Jenny Lewis video, she was in a Sleater-Kinney video, and she might be flying into the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon. Now, though, Larson has topped all of that with a great tweet related to Room, her most famous movie that does not include Michael Cera defeating seven evil exes.

After taking part in Austin City Limits' milestone 40th season, Ryan Adams was back on the long-running music program Saturday as the prolific singer-songwriter delivered a rare all-acoustic set as part of Acl's Season 41. Both Acl performances stemmed from Adams' October 22, 2014 visit to Austin's Moody Theatre; whereas the Season 40 episode (shared with Jenny Lewis) focused on the latter half of that concert where Adams was surrounded by a full band, Saturday's episode spotlighted Adams' solo set that night.

Ryan Adams last appeared on Austin City Limits last January with Jenny Lewis. But for his latest episode of the long-running concert show, Adams is delivering a rare solo acoustic set. Rolling Stone has a clip from his tender performance of "Desire," off 2002's Demolition.
During the episode, which airs Saturday, January 16th on PBS, Adams dedicates the song to his manager, who he claims is "the most tolerant man on the face of the planet." Detailing how much the pair have been through, Adams reveals that "Desire" is his manager's favorite Adams song.

Rumors swirled that Bill Murray and Jenny Lewis could be Hollywood's hot new couple, but sadly it isn't true. Sources confirm to E! News that the Rock the Kasbah actor and the Rilo Kiley singer are not dating. "It's not true," a source reveals. "They're just friends." Page Six reported that the A-list actor and the musician were an item after he took her to a party he hosted in honor of his new movie's release, calling her his "current younger love interest." But another insider tells us that they're "just friends" and they also "never travel romantically with each other." Even though these two aren't an item, Murray isn't alone! He has...

Earlier today, the Internet was a-tizzy at the prospect of Bill Murray, 65, and Jenny Lewis, 39, dating, after Page Six used such phrases as "special friend" and "current younger love interest" to describe the Rilo Kiley leader's relationship with Murray. They cited her late-night presence at his Rock the Kasbah blowout and her Instagram of them onstage together there, as well as a few other pretty tenuous connections, as proof. (It's also worth pointing out that Lewis has been with fellow musician and sometimes collaborator Johnathan Rice for a number of years.) Still, in some indie-movie universe Murray and Lewis made sense: Can't you just imagine them going on dates, running through crowded flea markets and putting hats on each other? Well, Vulture is here to sadly or gladly — depending on how much you fixate on their 26-year age difference — inform you that they are not dating.

Relationship goals? Not so fast. Despite reports, Bill Murray and indie rocker Jenny Lewis are not dating, a source tells Us Weekly. It all started after Page Six reported that Lewis, 39, is 65-year-old Murray’s “special friend.” The two partied together at the Rock the Kasbah premiere party at Good Units in New York City on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The site also reported that Lewis attended the Hamptons screening of Murray’s new film, and that the two were spotted together after at the Huntting Inn. During the fete, the [...]...

Sarah McLachlan fans, take note: sister-trio pop rock band Haim wants to bring back a Lilith Fair style festival for the 2015 generation.Speaking with music critic Kelefa Sanneh at the New Yorker Festival on Friday, the eldest Haim, Este, said, “We talk about this all the time, how there aren’t enough female-represented bands and artists at festivals. You don’t see them. And it’s really sad for us. We came up with the idea basically of why can’t we just bring back a festival that’s just ladies. Not that we don’t love the boys. Love the men.” She went on to list her fantasy line up, which includes female-friendly artists like Lorde, Florence and the Machine, Savages, Chvrches, Haim mentor Jenny Lewis, and Taylor Swift (Haim is the current opener on the megastar’s 1989 tour). While the 29-year-old singer never witnessed the original incarnation of the female-focused Lilith Fair,...

Anne Hathaway kicked off Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle with a high the show hasn’t quite been able to match, performing Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” complete with sledgehammers and, most memorably, a wrecking ball. But as she told Vulture at Tuesday night's Peggy Siegal screening of True Cost, hosted by Dean & DeLuca, she can't take credit for the song selection. "I wasn’t quite sure what song I was going to do, but then I reached out to my buddy Jenny Lewis, and she got back to me in three milliseconds with the 'Wrecking Ball' idea," Hathaway recalls. "I’m a big Miley fan. I think she is tremendous. I think she is really, really special. And I love that song." The actress also offered up some advice for future celebrity contestants on the show: "The phrase go big or go home applies to that show. Leave...

Long before Jenny Lewis was a successful indie-rock singer, she achieved a very different kind of success: Child stardom! The former Rilo Kiley musician, now 39, isn't embarrassed by her younger years onscreen—in fact, her newly released "She's Not Me" music video playfully pays homage to her child star past! For the creation of the quirky clip, Jenny enlisted the help of several of her famous friends, including Fred Armisen, Zosia Mamet, Vanessa Bayer, Feist and Leo Fitzpatrick. Together the pals parody some of Jenny's earlier work, including her TV roles on Golden Girls, Roseanne and Mr. Belvedere as well as her film appearances in Troop Beverly Hills, The Wizard and...

A lot of former child stars like to run away from their pasts, but not Jenny Lewis! Way back in the day (like, before Rilo Kiley), Lewis appeared in The Golden Girls, Troop Beverly Hills, The Wizard, Pleasantville, and so many other goodies. And because Jenny has both zero shame and a lot of famous friends (see: her last video), she's parodying some of those famous roles in her latest video for the brilliant "She's Not Me." Yep, that's Fred Armisen as Sophia freakin' Petrillo and Vanessa Bayer as Phyllis Nefler. Zosia Mamet, Leo Fitzpatrick, and Feist (!) are in there, too. Is this the best music video of 2015 so far? You're damn right it is.

Is this the Lost in Translation sequel we have desired? Probably not, but it will still be great.
Netflix released the first trailer for A Very Murray Christmas on Thursday, which reunites Bill Murray with his Translation director Sofia Coppola. The cast will be led by Murray playing a version of himself with guest stars, including: George Clooney, Paul Shaffer, Amy Poehler, Julie White, Dimitri Dimitrov, Michael Cera, Chris Rock, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, Phoenix, Frederic Moulin, Rashida Jones, Miley Cyrus and more.
The teaser doesn’t show much outside of Murray, with reindeer ears, looking out a window that is very reminiscent to many scenes in Lost in Translation, but regardless, I’m sure a lot of people will tune in to see something starring both Bill Murray and the array of guest stars that he and Coppola have amassed.

It was just over eleven years ago when a little side project from Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and Dntel knob twiddler Jimmy Tamborello blew up, but in a way many didn't expect. Known as The Postal Service, the carefully crafted blend of melodic electronic music and indie rock on Give Up grew by word of month. Sales of the album were a steady, slow burn, but within four years or so, it went platinum. While fans clamored for another record, it wasn't to be, but the band did reunite in 2013 for a string of live dates, and now a documentary is here chronicling what went down. Directed by Justin Mitchell, "Everything Will Change" captures that 2013 tour, with Gibbard, Tamborello and Jenny Lewis (who sings backup on six songs and also toured with the band way back in 2003), all participating. Today, Jenny Lewis' premiered the music video for her Beck-produced song "Just One of the Guys." It is silly to perfection. And it has more than just Kristen Stewart, Anne Hathaway and Brie Larson in drag to unpackage. I think of Jenny Lewis as an artist whose spent a career surrounded by dudes. She started up with in Rilo Kiley at the age 22 with all-guys, toured with the Postal Service, written and recorded music with her boyfriend Johnathan Rice as Jenny & Johnny, works in an indie rock industry that is male-dominated. In her earliest career, she was a child actress, and now she writes scores and soundtracks for film. (Though, don't discount: she also recorded and toured with ladies The Watson Twins, who helped launch her as a solo act, a wonderful ensemble.) In a lot of industries, being "just one of the guys" holds serious social capitol as a woman.

Trying out a whole new look, Kristen Stewart donned a fake mustache and a 1980s tracksuit in the new “Just One of the Guys” music video from Jenny Lewis.
Joined by Anne Hathaway and Brie Larson, the “Twilight” babe also rocks out on a Fender Stratocaster in the band sequences, something that would make ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson quite proud.
Lewis’ song is a slow drag to lament the dreaded ticking biological clocks of women everywhere, especially those who want to have kids.
Adding to the visual greatness, Ms. Hathaway’s character even has a rat tail hairdo, making for a masterful creeper vibe.

Imagine Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart and Brie Larson as guys - in '70s-inspired Adidas tracksuits, flat-bill ball caps and gristly porn-staches, as they breakdance in all-white suits. A modern nod to Robert Palmer's "Addicted To Love" video, perhaps? Not quite, but why the disguises? It's for Jenny Lewis's new video her song "Just One of the Guys." As for Lewis's outfit, she dons a teal tracksuit and scraggly beard Her video, which debuted on British GQ Tuesday morning, pulls heavily from the androgynous undertones of the indie darling's upcoming album, The Voyager, to be released in its entirety July 29. As described by GQ,...

Photos THR's Beauty Issue: Anne Hathaway, Olivia Wilde Pose With Their Imagemakers Or, at least, that's what they're singing about in the new video for Jenny Lewis' song. "Just One of the Guys" is the lead single off Lewis' first solo album in six years, The Voyager, which drops July 29 through Warner Bros. Records. Ever wondered what Kristen Stewart and Anne Hathaway would look like in drag? Us either. Regardless, the two actresses (plus peer Brie Larson) dressed up like dudes for pal Jenny Lewis' "Just One of the Guys" music video. The song serves as the first track from The Voyager, the indie singer-songwriter's first solo album in six years. Lewis calls the compilation "the hardest one" she's ever made. What was it like shooting the music video? "We screamed with laughter all day, huddled behind the monitor," Lewis tells GQ. "I haven't laughed that hard since What About Bob? came out on laser disk." The actress' transformations are purposefully...

As the director for her "One of the Guys" video, Jenny Lewis invited a bunch of famous friends — some cool girls, if you will — to hang out. Then they all dressed in tracksuits and fake mustaches and did their best Justin Bieber impressions (or maybe that was just Kristen Stewart) while also acting as Lewis's faux backup band. Although it'd be very impressive if Brie Larson could actually play guitar and drums at the same time? (Or is that just a Brie Larson lookalike?) Meanwhile: No matter how hard they try, to be just one of the guys ... Anne Hathway has to go ahead and cry.

With help from track suits and mustaches, some of Hollywood's top actresses make for quite handsome — if unconvincing — men. Jenny Lewis’ music video for “Just One of the Guys” features actresses Kristen Stewart, Anne Hathaway and Brie Larson dressed up in drag.
Jenny Lewis Music Video
“Just One of the Guys,” a track off Jenny Lewis's forthcoming solo album The Voyager – her first in six years – explores the pressure placed on women to have babies in their prime child-bearing years. While the song itself conveys the melancholy of the ticking biological clock, the music video uses humor to show Lewis’ frustration with the disparate expectations placed on men and women.
Stewart, Hathaway and Larson are introduced in the music video looking more or less like their normal selves in white suits with a feminine silouette as Lewis’s band. Before long, however, the women do away with their feminine hairstyles and makeup and ditch the suits – changing into track jumpsuits, hats and mustaches.

It's a mix of tried-and-true names along with some relative unknowns on the music version of Beck's "Song Reader." "No matter how hard I try, to be just one of the guys/There's a little something inside that won't let me," sings Jenny Lewis on "Just One of the Guys," the first single off her upcoming album, The Voyager. The title is funny if only because of the fact that the song is produced by Beck. (Is that him in the background?) And while the rest of the album promises production and songwriting from the likes of Ryan Adams and Jonathan Rice, we'll let the downer parts of the song fade into its wonderfully breezy-sounding backdrop. Summertime shouldn't feel this introspective. The Voyager is out on July 29.

Now entering its third season, Comedy Bang! Bang!, which started as a humble podcast, has come into its own. And just in time, as next year the show will air 40 episodes. What's a better way to celebrate than this clip from this Thursday's episode, airing on IFC at 10:30, in which Zach Galifianakis sings host Scott Aukerman's favorite tune, which, lucky for them, is in the public domain? Jenny Lewis sings backup. It's just like the Postal Service, if the Postal Service sang about "Camptown Races" instead of eye freckles.
