Gravitas Ventures gave the shark thriller Deep Fear a VOD release in the United States and Canada on November 3rd, and the movie also received a release through the Netflix streaming service in Brazil earlier this month. If you haven’t taken a look at Deep Fear yet, we have a clip to share with you that might get you to give it a chance. The clip can be seen in the embed above and features a shark burying its face in a load of cocaine, bringing to mind this year’s earlier “nature run amok” release Cocaine Bear.
Directed by Marcus Adams (Long Time Dead) from a screenplay written by Robert Capelli Jr. (The Rules (for Men)) and Sophia Eptamentis (Invincible Summer), Deep Fear centers on Naomi, a yachtswoman embarking on a solo trip in the Caribbean. Her last stop is Grenada, where she plans to rendezvous with her boyfriend Jackson,...

Like Jaws before it, the release of Cocaine Bear earlier this year has resulted in a slew of natural horror films, many of which are using the same conceit of an animal driven to extreme behavior by the consumption of narcotics. Projects already in production include Crackcoon and the delayed Methgator, created by The Asylum. You can probably guess their plots.
One animal-on-drugs movie that has already seen release is Cocaine Shark. Whereas that film treated its subject matter with an unabashedly schlocky approach, though, the more recent Deep Fear takes a similar gimmick and plays it with a straighter face. It could be the perfect post-summer movie for anyone who wants a fun cinematic trend taken a little more seriously.
Set on a yacht sailing around Grenada, Deep Fear centers on a woman named Naomi (Mãdãlina Ghenea) who, during a sailing trip to see her boyfriend (Ed Westwick), gets...

Deep Fear, not to be confused with last year’s film about monsters under the streets of Paris (which is probably why they added the “Sharks vs Narcs” subtitle to the film for its digital release), is a call back to the shark films of the past. Not to Jaws or its imitators but to something earlier, like Shark!, Shark’s Treasure, and The Deep where the sharks were a secondary plot element, an added threat for the protagonists to face in addition to other humans.
In the case of Deep Fear that would be Naomi whom we first see showing her co-worker Barney how easily a reef shark can be steered away from people. When she surfaces her partner Jackson that he’s booked another tour.

“Deep Fear,” the upcoming shark thriller starring “Gossip Girl’s” Ed Westwick and “House of Gucci’s” Madalina Ghenea, has gone into production in Malta.
The feature has also added Stany Coppet (“Vikings: Valhalla”) and Macarena Gomez (“Shrew’s Nest”), who will play drug traffickers Jose and Maria, as well as Ibrahima Gueye (“The Life Ahead”) who will play a boat hand called Barney.
“Deep Fear” sees Ghenea star as accomplished yachtswoman Naomi who embarks on a solo trip through the Caribbean to meet her boyfriend Jackson (played by Westwick) in Grenada.
When a storm forces Naomi of course, she encounters survivors of a shipwreck who, it soon transpires, are actually drug traffickers. They force Naomi to dive into the hull of their sunken ship to retrieve their shipment of cocaine, where she encounters a frenzy of vicious tiger sharks, whom she must outwit to survive.

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night Hmmmmmm.... what was that horror comedy starring Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) that came out to theaters earlier in the year and quickly vanished? And it was based off an the Italian comic book, right? For those that need a memory refresher, it was Dylan Dog: Dead of Night which follows Brandon Routh as the eponymous detective whose specialty is paranormal cases. Now, he must deal with vampires, werewolves, zombies and a guardian of Hell, all due to a client's (Anita Briem) case. With the help of Marcus Adams (Sam Huntington), his undead assistant, he will have to persevere for the sake of the Earth.
Dylan Dog: Dead of Night was one of the biggest box office flops in recent memory scoring one of the lowest per theater averages in movie history. Hoping to make up for that disastrous run at the box office, Twenieth Century...

Its not uncommon for an actor or actress to play a superhero in one comic book film then turn around and grab a role for a completely different one shortly down the road. It's a new trend that's kicking up for actors like Chris Evans and Ryan Reynolds who have already done such things. But perhaps the one actor who has a high comic book movie count is Brandon Routh. He not only did it once ("Superman Returns") or twice ("Scott Pilgrim vs. the World") but is doing it a third time on "Dylan Dog: Dead of Night."In the upcoming Kevin Munroe horror-comedy, Routh brings the popular Italian comic character to life on the big screen. The first domestic trailer for director Kevin Munroe‘s (Tmnt) new comedy-tinged horror-thriller, Dylan Dog: Dead of Night, is now online.
The film, based off the popular Italian horror comics, stars Brandon Routh as the titular character – a hard-bitten paranormal investigator – with Sam Huntington as his assistant Marcus Adams and Anita Briem as Dog’s client Elizabeth Ryan.
Dylan Dog: Dead of Night blends horror, humor and sophisticated storytelling set in the backstreets of New Orleans – a city with a long and storied history with the supernatural. The story revolves around Dylan Dog, the world’s only private investigator of the undead with a business card that features his slogan, “investigator of the paranormal: no pulse, no problem.” Along with his assistant Marcus, Dylan will go where the living dare not — facing down friend and foe alike, until justice is done.
Dylan Dog was created in 1986 by Tiziano Sclavi and published by Sergio Bonelli Editore.

"Dylan Dog: Dead of Night" was first announced way back in 2008, and now it's finally on the verge of arriving in theaters. The Kevin Munroe-directed adaptation of Tiziano Sclavi's comic book series "Dylan Dog" is set now for a wide theatrical release in the United States on April 29.
The release is possible thanks to Omnilab Media, an Australia-based producer/financier that picked up the U.S. distribution rights for the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Dead of Night" will be released under the new Omni/Fsr label, with Freestyle Releasing overseeing the theatrical run.
The business arrangement gets even more complicated from there, but the gist of it is simple: "Dylan Dog" will be in theaters at the end of April.

Director: Whit Stillman
Summary: The story revolves around a group of style-obsessed college girls who take in a new student (Gerwig) and teach her their misguided ways of helping people at their grungy university.
Analysis: The first film in a decade from arthouse darling Whit Stillman, a filmmaker's filmmaker whose three Manhattan-based, yuppie-themed mannerist comedies - "Metropolitan," "Barcelona" and "The Last Days of Disco" - were a big influence on the likes of auteurs such as Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach. Stillman says this film varies somewhat from his previous trilogy of sorts, telling First Things that "This film is different, Completely different. Okay, not completely different, but it’s different".
