The Day of the Triffids (2009)

Decent Remake

I loved the older version of this series but i was a lot younger so i was scared slightly easier but this still is quite scary it provokes the things that we were scared of as a child like the dark and the unknown.

If a bit far far-fetched the story's is still fairly solid with it having a solid cast which perform brilliantly in a low budget TV programme the action scenes are directed brilliantly..

The only problem is that think they could have made the series a bit longer because the story is a complex and long one..

But other than that a well directed programme with what i hope has a worthy ending of such a good start.

Avatar (2009)

Spectacular in 3D

i went to see this in 3d at my local cinema and i was blown away by the quality of the film i had seen a couple of film in 3d before but they were just little bit of 3d thrown into a 2d film whereas this was all 3d and was amazing i would go see it again..

The story is a classic romance but with robots,guns and massive blue people its a very well written and superbly directed film the cgi was amazing..

The cast are amazing with Sam Worthington leading the line up in his new found stardom with a line of film hoping to have him on board and i can see why he is amazing in this film and its nice to see sigourney weaver back in big films after my previous favourite film being aliens..

A Must See!!!!!! 10/10

Dr Who but Darker

This is a spin off from doctor who but i think it better..

With john barrowman taking a lead role as the awesome captain jack who was in Dr who.This turns out to be a adult version of doctor who with blood,sex and gore taking its roles in the storyline but also a very thrilling series and a TV programme i found myself sitting down and watching every single episode.

You can feel for the characters and get to know them as they go along. There is also a large amount of humour in this series..

This series has to continue for more than 3 series i hope and i cannot wait until it come back..

A Must See!!!!!

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007 Video Game)

Great Improvement!!!

I liked the old call of duty's but bringing it into the 21st century is activision and what a way to bring it.

The graphics are truly brilliant with the streets of Iraq and the forests of Russia coming to life.

The level that really stands out it "all gillied up" which involves you crawling though the Russian defences and the detail of Chernobyl is truly spectacular it looks so real with the ferris well and swimming pools of priypet.

The multi player made me a slave to my living room spending a total of 5 day online trying to be better.

A Must Buy!!!!!!!!

The Most Amazing Film!!!!

This film is got everything!!! Its got the comedy of tom hanks and his part with him playing it brilliantly i don't think anyone could have played it better he bring out the seriousness of the situations hes in but still plays them like a child would.

Then there's the story behind the comedy with it revolving around Forrest love interest in the film and him trying to win her back from the life's shes chosen..

The direction in this film is truly amazing with the war scenes being intense and sad at the same time..

A Classic!!!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009 Video Game)

Amazing!!!!

This has everything the old call of duty had and more the battles are more intense and on a epic scale.

Your put right back into the action as the marines or the sas the story is epic putting you in to a global war..

The characters are really believable and you feel really close to them by the end of the story especially ghost who for some reason was my favourite even though he didn't really say much he was just cool.

The game play is intense with bullets whizzing passed your head and your comrades fighting back against the onslaught of Russians.There is nothing wrong with the game play its perfect even though the story may have been a bit short.

The graphics are amazing playing on a Sony bravia on hd blew me away such rich colours and intense sound.

The multiplayer is addictive as usual playing hours without noticing and the new perks are brilliant which add a whole new depth to the game play making it more interesting..

Its also nice to see that that captain mactavish is back and fighting leading the British forces to victory.

Truly Amazing a must buy!!!!!!

Defiance (I) (2008)

Brilliant!!!

this film is Daniel Craig's finest performance..

The film starts out very slowly telling the story of the main characters but picks up speed very quickly after that with numerous battles with the Germany's with amazing effects and explosion.

This film is also very deep with the story if the characters being very well written and played by the actors.The film becomes slightly repetitive after a while but if you can survive that it is a very good solid film...

This film isn't quite the adrenaline rush of other war films but it has a much more complex story line that makes up for any loss of action.

A Must see!!!!!

Casino Royale (2006)

Classy,Confident and Cool!!!

This is a return to form for the James bond movies!!! The earlier James bond movies were my favourite with Sean Connery but this is a amazing film awesome car chases and massive flips. Daniel Craig is brilliant he is less smooth as the other bonds but he is far more gritty and hardcore..

The Scenery in the free running bit is epic that is the best 10 minutes of any film with 007 chasing someone over cranes and constructions sites the direction and stunts are awesome..

For me this film has no bad point other than it actually ended i didn't want it to end.

Truly Awesome!!!!!

Black Hawk Down (2001)

An Epic Film!!!

This film is amazing i must have watched it about 20 time now!!!! The action in this film is amazing it really draws you in and immerses you in the action with the bullets and explosions. You really feel connected to the characters.

The whole film is on an epic scale with the amount of helicopters and humvees they use it all look like its actually happening right in front of you.

Josh hartnett is immense in this film filling the role perfectly much better than he did in pearl harbour which is almost the opposite of this film. The rose tinted glasses are off and you are thrown in to the gritty streets of Mogadishu..

A Must See!!!!

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)

Really Cheesy!!

This film looked really promising and started that way too but then took a turn for the worse..

The film is far too cheesy to be taken seriously from the really bad British accent to the massively advanced weapons they use to kill each other.

It does have its good points such as the ninjas fighting and the two lead women look amazing (sienna miller and rachel nichols) and the cgi is really impressive..

But for me its too childish and a bit of a boring story i think they could have done a lot better with the franchise.

If your looking for a decent American action movie just watch iron man!!!!

Pineapple Express (2008)

Hilarious!!!!!!

This film made me cry laughing!!! I had never heard of any of the actor in this film but after i had to go and buy all of the films they starred in. This film takes funny to a whole new level with it managing to make things that aren't funny and make them hilarious.

The addition of amber heard to the film was inspired because the chemistry between her and Seth rogen is hilarious.

In my opinion the film has no bad points it is almost perfect and will make you laugh every time you watch it.

A MUST BUY!!!!!!

The Hills Have Eyes (2006)

Adrenaline Rush!!!

This is probably the best remake of any of the original classic horrors !!!! The original was one of my favourite films ever with its thrill a minute attitude towards the horror genre. This remake is nearly as good or dare i say it better. It has everything you could want in a film Mutants,blood,gore and a hell of a lot of jump out of your seat moments.

The best thing about this film as well as the old one is the story its almost plausible it draws on the classics fears=rs that everyone has such as the unknown...

It does let its self down in some points such as the rape scenes were a bit uncomfortable and i feel it ended in a too sudden way i feel it should have continued a bit longer.

But other than that a very good watch..

The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007)

Not Bad

It has its moments but not as good as the original.

This is a movie with a great heritage i feel that the original hills have eyes were some of the best horror movies of all time which literally made me freeze with terror this one not so much.

it has its moments but It lacks that certain factor which makes a good horror movie it tries to hard using cheap scare tactics which become old very quickly.

the cast on the other hand were very good with a lot of unknown and young actors that stepped up to the roles very well especially Jessica stroup and lee Thompson young who coped very well.

Worth a watch but no where near the originals.

Jarhead (2005)

Very Moving

This isn't just any run of the mill war movie...

This movie is about operation desert storm but from the point of the marine most war films symbolise the marine as some hardcore killing machine and this starts out no different but as the film goes on you become to feel sympathy for the marine...

This sheds a whole new light on war the bits in between the fighting and the bonds the characters share.The film does lack some elements that make a good war film but otherwise a solid watch.

Most probably Jake gyllehaals best film and a truly moving film.

This has to be the horror film of the year...

The story was very sound if a bit far fetched you can easily associate with the characters thats what makes so the film so scary you feel that you're in the film.

The direction in this film truly brilliant the sound is chosen perfectly and the use of the home video camera adds to the effect of the film .

The only thing about this film is that it takes a little to long to get into the action and that i could become slightly repetitive but other than that its a solid scary movie..

Don't WATCH IT ALONE!!!!!

Band of Brothers (2001)

Best Series Ever!!!!!!

A virtually unknown cast but a amazing director in the form of Steven Spielberg.Even so the cast prove themselves to be true actors and the direction is as usual brilliant.

The fight scenes are truly epic but in the midst of the explosions and gore is a very serious message about some of the bravest men. You truly feel the bond between the solders and get very emotionally attached to the characters over the 13 hours of film.....

i recommend this to anyone even if you don't normally like war movies you have to watch this.

Truly Epic.
