Originally released in 2018, as far as I know All The Creatures Were Stirring is the second ever Christmas horror anthology movie, with the first being the highly entertaining A Christmas Horror Story.
This one has five segments and one encompassing segment which begins and ends the film as well as linking each other segment. In this we see a man and woman who are kind of on a date at a local theatre. They meet outside and once inside are introduced to a couple of strange characters until they are eventually seated to watch the show. The first part of the show then leads into the opening segment The Stockings Are Hung.

Bernie Su, the creator of several Emmy Award-winning interactive web series, is partnering with new video game broadcast network Venn to create gamified television programming. Su gained notoriety in 2012 for his video adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice,” called “The Lizzie Bennett Diaries,” which reimagined Jane Austen’s classic love story in the 21st century in the form of fictional social media posts and vlogs, usually filmed from Lizzie’s bedroom. Every ten episodes or so, Su would open the video up to the viewers, with Lizzie (played by Ashley Clements) answering live questions from the audience. The effort won Su the Emmy Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media, and two Streamy Awards. “If anything, I’ve found that my career has generally been more interesting in the interactive spaces,” Su told TheWrap. “I’ve done TV development, which is great, but I think the intrigue comes more when...

With Emma and Sanditon making waves (seaside resort pun!), we're listing up the best screen adaptations of Jane Austen's work.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that every Jane Austen novel must be adapted an infinite amount of times and we will be grateful for all of them.
There have been a lot of adaptations of Jane Austen's six major novels and some of her other works, including the recently-released Emma starring Anya Taylor-Joy. These are the ones we recommend watching.
Best Pride and Prejudice Adaptations
Easily the most adapted of Jane Austen's works, Pride and Prejudice is a foundational work in the broader romantic comedy genre and in so much of our mainstream storytelling. People tend to have opinions about which of the P&p adaptations are the best. (Who is the best Elizabeth? Who is the best Darcy? Which is the most faithful? Does it matter?...

Ashley Clements, the powerhouse actress who starred in Hank Green and Bernie Su’s Emmy- and Streamy-winning YouTube web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, has successfully funded a new creative project.
She and her team raised $31,560 on Kickstarter to produce 10-episode series A Tale Told by an Idiot. Pitched as “Shakespeare meets Silicon Valley,” the series is a modern retelling of Macbeth where the titular and main characters run an indie virtual reality game company.
Clements is the series’ co-creator, writer, producer, and lead actress. She’ll play Beth, the modernized Lady Macbeth — who, as in the original play, may be the story’s real star after all…

Alpha, the two-year-old streaming service owned by Legendary and touting content from its two subsidiary brands Nerdist and Geek & Sundry, has been shuttered
The streaming service, launched in Nov. 2016 and previously priced at $5 per month, sought out a relatively niche audience of gamers, geeks, comic book nerds, pop culture aficionados, superhero fans, and other assorted nerds. Nerdist was founded by comedian and host Chris Hardwick, while Geek & Sundry is the brainchild of early digital star Felicia Day. Notable programming included Geek & Sundry’s TableTop, featuring board and card game play, and Nerdist’s role-playing series Critical Role. Most recently, the service premiered Sona, a sci-fi series from Lizzie Bennet Diaries star Ashley Clements.
Going forward, all Alpha content will be streamed on Twitch “effective immediately,” the company said. Some titles are already being streamed on the Geek & Sundry Twitch channel. After they have been streamed, shows will become available...

[Editor's Note: With this past year being another great one in the horror genre across multiple mediums, Monte Yazzie continues Daily Dead's "Favorites of 2018" features by reflecting on his favorite viewing, listening, and collecting experiences from 2018.]
Hereditary: Horror films have utilized the family dynamic, mostly broken beyond repair, to build visions of invasive family structure terror. Think of films like The Omen, The Shining, or even more recently, The Conjuring. What makes director Ari Aster’s first feature film different from most is the structure concerning the family, specifically the historical structure and the ongoing trauma and despair that has permeated the foundation of this family’s ancestry. Hereditary takes the viewer into horrific aspects concerning grief, trauma, and ultimately despair before unleashing the supernatural threat—it’s why the film is so effective. It’s this journey into emotion that ultimately makes the visions of horror resonate so strongly.
Suspiria: Nothing is sacred in today’s remake-obsessed film world, yet it still sounds absolutely foolish when...

“I can’t wait to watch you all die.”
We’ve got a trailer here for a new holiday anthology horror film called All The Creatures Were Stirring. As you’ll see, Christmas takes a very dark and sadistic turn in each of the jacked-up segments in the film. I like these kinds of movies so I think this actually looking like it could deliver some wicked entertainment.
Here’s a synopsis that gives you a little tease of what this movie entails:
Ho, ho, no…! The joyful spirit of the holidays is about to take one dark turn after another. From sadistic office parties and last-minute shopping nightmares, to vengeful stalkers and immortal demons, there’s plenty out there to keep you from getting out of bed to see what’s under the tree this holiday season.
The film is also described as a “devilish stocking stuffer of a movie.

"The next person can steal someone's already opened gift." Rlje Films has unveiled an official trailer for a creepy holiday horror titled All the Creatures Were Stirring, which premiered at the Chattanooga Film Festival this year, even though it will be getting a direct-to-vod/DVD release this fall. This looks like a fun anthology horror to catch. When an awkward date on Christmas Eve leads a couple into a strange theater, they're treated to a bizarre and frightening collection of Christmas stories, featuring a wide ensemble of characters doing their best to avoid the horrors of the holidays. From boring office parties and last-minute shopping, to vengeful stalkers and immortal demons, there's plenty to fear this holiday season... The cast features Constance Wu (from Crazy Rich Asians), Amanda Fuller, Jonathan Kite, Graham Skipper, Jocelin Donahue, and Ashley Clements. This looks a bit low quality, but it might still be entertaining.

Ashley Clements’ “Sona” space-drama series — a labor of love that was shot mostly in her L.A. apartment — premieres today on Legendary Digital Networks’ Alpha subscription streaming service.
“Sona” was created by and starring Clements (“Lizzie Bennet Diaries”), directed by Brendan Bradley and produced by Bradley’s Jigsaw Ensemble production company. Legendary’s Alpha, which has exclusive rights to “Sona” for six months, will release new episodes of the eight-part series on a weekly basis each Wednesday. The show is available at watch.sonaseries.com.
Set in a future where aliens are no longer welcome on Earth, the show stars Clements as Lt. Belyn Sona, a United Earth Space Corps officer who’s separated from her alien husband (Bradley) and jettisoned into space in a malfunctioning escape pod. Sona slowly unravels mentally and emotionally through a series of flashbacks as she drifts through space in isolation.

Digital studio Geek & Sundry, which was founded by veteran YouTube star Felicia Day, is set to launch a brand new sci-fi series titled Sona on Alpha -- a streaming service owned by Geek & Sundry's parent company Legendary Digital Networks.
Sona was created by and stars Ashley Clements, who notably headlined 2012's The Lizzie Bennet Diaries -- the first-ever web series to take home an Emmy. Sona is set in a future where aliens are no longer welcome on earth, and will follow a Space Corps officer (Clements) who was formerly married to an alien and is now trapped in a malfunctioning escape pod. The series will use flashbacks to recount the decisions that led to her isolation, and in the process touch on pertinent social issues including mental health, immigration, and betrayal.

Fans of the popular trading card game Magic: The Gathering will soon be able to celebrate the return of one of the best web series the game's community has to offer. Magic's developer, Wizards of the Coast, has teamed up with Geek & Sundry for a third season of Spellslingers, which will once again be hosted by excitable gamer Sean "Day9" Plott.
As in previous seasons, the new Spellslingers episodes will give Day9 a chance to, in his own words, "play Magic: The Gathering with my nerd friends." This season's competitors will include Lizzie Bennet Diaries star Ashley Clements and Kyle Hill, the host of Nerdist's Because Science.

After appearing in multiple award-winning web series, Ashley Clements is now adding some behind-the-camera work to her resume. Through Kickstarter, the Lizzie Bennet Diaries star has raised "finishing funds" for Sona, an eight-episode sci-fi web series.
Sona will star Clements as a military officer who must survive in an escape pod in open space. Brendan Bradley, a veteran actor with nearly a decade of web series experience under his belt, will direct Sona and will co-star as the protagonist's alien husband. At the time of this post, the project has raised more than $21,000, which is enough capital to ensure that all of its nine episodes will be funded.
Between 2012 and 2013, Clements portrayed Elizabeth Bennet in 100 episodes of the Emmy-award winning series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Her portrayal of the Pride and Prejudice heroine earned her a Streamy Award win in 2014. Later, she and Bradley teamed up as the romantic leads of Non-Transferable,...

A rom-com script featuring the former Lizzie Bennet, revived by an unlikely but true Buzzfeed story, and partly financed by Turkey’s tourism board is hoping its good fortune continues to transfer today as it helps launch a new distribution platform delivering 4K-resolution streams through a single click on social-media sites.
Brendan Bradley wrote the script for Non-Transferable several years ago, creating a fairly traditional take on a rom-com with an unlikely “meet cute." The protagonist buys non-refundable tickets for a big overseas trip to surprise her boyfriend on their anniversary. He, however, breaks up with her, leaving the protagonist with a broken heart and non-transferable tickets in someone else’s name. She advertises for another guy with the same name and, well, you can probably guess how the rest unfolds.
Except that seemingly everything else about the film has been anything but traditional. First, that unlikely setup in Bradley...

The love story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy has been told again and again onscreen, and each adaptation has in its own way addressed themes of class, social etiquette and romance that Jane Austen wove into the 1813 classic, Pride and Prejudice. But now Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, in theaters Feb. 5, introduces a whole new slew of themes: the undead, for example, and martial arts and lots and lots of blood and gore. The film has Cinderella star Lily James playing Elizabeth, who in this version just happens to be leading a small army of sword-toting society women in...

The nominees for the 4th annual Streamy Awards—acknowledging explemplary, original online video content—have been announced. “If the caliber of this year’s nominees is any indication, we’re on track for the biggest Streamys ever,” said executive producer Drew Baldwin, co-founder of Streamy Awards presenting partner Tubefilter, in a statement. At the forefront of the nominations was the Emmy-winning “Pride and Prejudice”-inspired Web series “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries,” which landed a best drama nomination as well as taps for two of its actors: Daniel Vincent Gordh and Ashley Clements. It’s a good year for the series that was picked up by Starz Digital Media in June. Well-known Viner Brittany Furlan also received three nods including best actress in a Web series comedy for “Shfty ~ Super Happy Fun Time, Yay!,” best Vine comedian, and Viner of the year. Fellow Viner Klarity, also on “Shfty,” was recognized in...

1. The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. A runaway success that sparked a veritable wave of web adaptations of romantic novels and stories, this Emmy-winning series is inventive, romantic, and beautifully executed. Ashley Clements and Daniel Vincent Gordh (particularly the former) handled their iconic Lizzie/Darcy roles with aplomb, and the series pulled a particular coup by casting Mary Kate Wiles as Lydia and reshaping her story as that of a party girl who gets hurt and slowly grows up over the course of the series. The interactions between sisters Lizzie, Lydia, and Jane (Laura Spencer), are warm and real and the highlight of the series along with the slowly-built-up Darcy/Lizzie romance.
The main flaw in the series is that it’s too long – the first 50 episodes chronicle every event that happens in the book, and while book purists might call this praiseworthy, this is a web-series not a BBC adaptation, and...

16 months after the final episode of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, creator Bernie Su has adapted his literary web series into a book. Su and collaborator Kate Rorick have authored The Secret Diary Of Lizzie Bennet, a novel based off of Pemberley Digital's YouTube adaptation of Pride And Prejudice. The Secret Diary Of Lizzie Bennet was first announced in January, when it was given a July 1st release date. Instead, it arrived a week before that date, hitting shelves just in time for VidCon. To promote the release, the Lizzie Bennet team returned to the web series' main channel for a pair of bonus vlogs starring lead actress Ashley Clements. The goal of The Secret Diary is to appeal to both diehard Lizzie Bennet fans and newcomers who have not yet fallen in love with the clever Austen adaptation. The novel satisfies the latter group by retelling many major plot points from the web series,...

Project Name: Muzzled the Musical Asking For: $45,000 on Kickstarter Amount Raised Thus Far (At Time Of Post): $5,707 Days Remaining In Campaign (At Time Of Post): 36 Description: Muzzled is a musical set in a fanciful and somewhat dark world. As with most musicals, the inhabitants of the Muzzled world are looking for any reason to start singing, and the series' creators have facilitated this desire by turning song into a major plot point. The only people who are allowed to sing are a collection of princesses who use music as a symbol of power. They are opposed by a ragtag group called the Blackhearts, who must wear titular "muzzle" tattoos that prevent them from singing. Web series fans will find plenty of familiar faces among the cast, including Ashly Burch, Ashley Clements, Mary Kate Wiles, and Jeff Lewis. A first look at this cast is available in the Muzzled...

It is a truth universally acknowledged… that Jane Austen’s novels will never stop being reimagined, readapted, or reworked. But among the countless parodies, books, and films that are based on Pride and Prejudice, only “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries” managed to make it a web-based, immersive experience. The web series, a modern adaptation co-created by Bernie Su and Hank Green, premiered in 2012 and ended this year after 100 episodes, finishing off a stellar 2013 by winning a Creative Arts Emmy.
At the center of the series were the three — not five, as in the original — Bennet sisters: Jane, Lizzie, and Lydia. Played by Laura Spencer,...

Forget Oscar-tipped films and lush BBC dramatisations – the Lizzie Bennet Diaries is an addictive bi-weekly retelling of Pride and Prejudice for the web generation
Jane Austen has been providing us with Sunday-evening viewing fodder ever since someone had the ratings-winning idea of putting gowns and tight breeches on primetime TV. But as Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy celebrate their 200th anniversary of appearing in print, the best Austen adaptation around at the moment isn't an Oscar-tipped film or a lush BBC dramatisation – it's a series of 10-minute YouTube videos, with accompanying in-character tweets. And it's modern-day. And American.
The Lizzie Bennet Diaries calls itself an "innovative, original episodic video and social media series produced for the web". Actually, it's an addictive bi-weekly retelling of Pride and Prejudice, in which Darcy is a hipster, Lizzie is a beleaguered grad student and her mother is just as desperate to get her married off as in the original.
