Netflix comedy movies in March 2024 cover every subgenre in the category. Whether you’re looking to stream slapstick, a rom-com, or something with a side of horror, Netflix’s March additions have something for you.
While any time is a good time to watch a comedy, springtime and laughs can go hand-in-hand. With warmer weather (and summer blockbusters) around the corner, spend your March with Netflix’s best comedy movies.
‘Beverly Hills Ninja’ Coming to Netflix March 1
Celebrate comedy legend Chris Farley by streaming Beverly Hills Ninja on Netflix beginning March 1. The 1997 martial arts comedy marks the final film released during Farley’s lifetime, as the actor died less than a year after its release.
Farley stars as Haru, adopted as a child by a clan of ninjas who believe he’ll become the master promised in legends. As expected, Haru never entirely becomes a ninja despite his best efforts.

CAA has signed Margaret Zhang for representation as an emerging filmmaker, writer and producer.
The new alliance marks the next step for Zhang, who officially departs her role as editor-in-chief of Vogue China at the end of May.

When Zhang was named Vogue China’s editor-in-chief in Feb. 2021, the then-27-year-old became the youngest Vogue chief in Condé Nast history.
During her tenure, Zhang launched the Vogue Film Initiative, which supports Chinese women in film by identifying and mentoring high-potential Chinese female filmmakers, producers, writers and actors and guiding them from development to production...

Saturday Night Live returns in October with a familiar face: former cast member Pete Davidson!
Davidson will serve as the host for SNL‘s season 49 premiere on Oct. 14, with rapper Ice Spice as the musical guest. Bad Bunny is set to host and perform the following week, on Oct. 21.
The Dumb Money star departed the show following season 47, after eight seasons — most in which he was the youngest cast member. Davidson joined the show when he was just 20 years old and was perhaps most popular for his self-effacing “Weekend Update” appearances.
In recent years, Davidson has become even more well known for his high-profile relationships, which have included A-list romances with Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, and Phoebe Dynevor.
Most recently, Davidson split from his Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star, Chase Sui Wonders, in August and has recently sparked romance rumors with Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline.

Pete Davidson is back in the dating game. According to multiple reports, he’s now dating “Outer Banks” star Madelyn Cline.
At this point it’s unclear how the two met or when things got started, but Us Weekly, citing a source, first reported on Friday that “they spent the night together at the Beverly Hills Hotel and then had a breakfast together there the next morning.”
The pair, according to the outlet, were “really low-key and kept things casual, wearing baseball hats.” TMZ then matched the report Saturday morning and, citing a source close to the Saturday Night Live alum, said they’re officially an item.
The budding romance comes less than a month after Davidson called it quits with Chase Sui Wonders after 9 months of dating. A source at the time told Et, “Pete Davidson and Chase Sui Wonders have broken up and both of them are focusing on themselves.
At this point it’s unclear how the two met or when things got started, but Us Weekly, citing a source, first reported on Friday that “they spent the night together at the Beverly Hills Hotel and then had a breakfast together there the next morning.”

PETA is prepping for the upcoming Halloween season by releasing a recognizable costume: Pete Davidson.
For those scratching their heads at the new costume, the release follows an expletive-filled voicemail sent by the comedian, 29, to PETA’s vice president of cruelty investigations, Daphna Nachminovitch.
Davidson lashed out at her because she, on behalf of PETA, criticized him for buying a new dog from a pet store instead of adopting one following the death of his family’s pooch, Henry.

Actor Pete Davidson reportedly has told his audience at Madison Square Garden, where he was warming up for Dave Chappelle, 50, he’s been using the horse tranquiliser – prompting speculation it is part of his treatments for depression.
A friend of Pete’s, when they were checked by ‘Page Six’, confirmed he has not just been using “a bit” of the drug, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The party substance was approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a nasal spray – which ‘Page Six’ says is the way Pete is taking it – in 2019, and it’s increasingly common as a way to treat serious depression that hasn’t been improved with more typical drugs.
Pete has regularly opened up about his mental health battles, and told Charlamagne tha God, 45, in a 2022 YouTube interview, “I’m always depressed, all the time. I have to constantly bring myself out of it. I wake up depressed.

Apple TV+ has extinguished City on Fire.
According to Deadline, the crime drama has been canceled after just one season.
The decision comes six weeks after the conclusion of City on Fire Season 1.
The series failed to garner much buzz, a surefire sign that a show is not long for this world.
We rarely get viewership statistics for streaming shows, so the buzz is the only indicator of success to observers.
City on Fire was saddled with terrible reviews from critics, with a 39% rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Fans were considerably more positive, with an audience score of 78%.
Apple TV+ recently launched Silo, which became the most-watched drama, achieving considerable buzz and acclaim.
Hijack also seems ripe for success after breaking through in ways many shows haven't.

The Apple TV+ crime drama “City on Fire,” which wrapped up its 8-episode first season two months ago, will not be getting a second season, TheWrap has confirmed.
Based on the novel of the same name by Garth Risk Hallberg, “City on Fire” wasn’t listed as a limited series. But the story shown in Season 1 covered the entire book, which means viewers won’t be stuck with a never-resolved cliffhanger similar to Hulu’s 2020 “High Fidelity” adaptation.
Set in 2003, the story follows the aftermath of the shooting of a young student in Central Park, New York city. The investigation uncovers ties to a series of fires, the Manhattan music scene, and a secretive and wealthy real estate family.
Created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the show was executive produced by Schwartz and Savage alongside Lis Rowinski and Jesse Peretz.

Exclusive: Apple TV+ has opted not to pick up a second season of crime drama series City on Fire. The news comes a month and a half after Season 1 finished its eight-episode run on the streamer. It is not surprising as the adaptation of the novel of the same name didn’t get a lot of buzz the way other recent Apple TV+ entries like Silo and Hijack have.

Pete Davidson has been ordered to complete 50 hours of community service for crashing his car into a Beverly Hills Home earlier this year.
Davidson received a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving in March when he drove into a house with his girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, in the passenger seat. Nobody at the scene was injured, though the vehicle went over a curb and ran into the side of the house.
No drugs or alcohol were reported to be a factor in the crash and Davidson was not arrested.
Without pleading guilty or contesting the offense, Davidson was put in a diversion program and will be required to complete 12 hours of traffic school. He will also have to attend a course on victims of reckless driving, which will take place in a morgue.

Pete Davidson was given a 50-day community service sentence on Tuesday for a March 4 incident in which he crashed his Mercedes into a home in Beverly Hills.
The comedian is expected to do his community service with the New York Fire Department, where his late father worked, Los Angeles County prosecutors told the Associated Press.
Davidson’s father, Scott, was a first responder who died in the 9/11 attacks. The former “Saturday Night Live” star bases much of his comedy on his own life, including his semi-autobiographical Peacock sitcom “Bupkis” and the 2020 comedy feature “The King of Staten Island.”
Davidson pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor and was put in an 18-month program that includes 12 hours of traffic school and to pay an unspecified restitution.

Actor-comedian Pete Davidson has been charged with reckless driving. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office have formally charged the actor after he allegedly lost control of his Mercedes and crashed into a house while driving through a residential street on the evening of March 4, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Sources told TMZ that Davidson mounted the curb and hit a fire hydrant before crashing into the house, but cops didn’t believe drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident and the former ‘Saturday Night Live’ cast member, whose girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders was in the car, was not arrested at the scene.
No one was hurt in the accident but the homeowner told TMZ that his 16-year-old daughter was a “bit” traumatised. However, the unnamed man insisted he had no issue with the driver and wasn’t planning to file a lawsuit against Pete.

Pete Davidson faces a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving for crashing a speeding car into a Beverly Hills house in March, an accident in which girlfriend and actress Chase Sui Wonders was a passenger.
The 29-year-old former “Saturday Night Live” star was behind the wheel of a Mercedes and driving at a high rate of speed through the Flats neighborhood of Beverly Hills at around 11 p.m. on March 4 when he lost control of the car, hopped a curb, knocked out a fire hydrant and slammed into the side of a nearby house, according to police.
“We believe that Mr. Davidson engaged in reckless driving, which ultimately resulted in his involvement in a serious collision into a home,” the Los Angeles County Da’s office said Friday in a statement to media. “Luckily, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision.”

City on Fire extinguishes its first season on Friday, June 16, and huge revelations and reversals are in the offing. As fans of the intricately plotted Apple TV+ drama know, the July 4th shooting of enigmatic Samantha (Chase Sui Wonders) remains unsolved, her smitten pal Charlie (Wyatt Oleff) has exposed the arson ring she was connected to, druggie musician William (Nico Tortorella) — after getting clean and reuniting with his uptown sister Regan (Jemima Kirke) — has been stabbed by their bitchy, shifty step-uncle (John Cameron Mitchell), and, oh yeah, New York has been plunged into the Northeast Blackout of 2003. It’s been quite the journey for this disparate group, from the grungy underground music scene and murder-for-hire plots to a crumbling marriage and a gorgeously directed, wordless exchange between estranged siblings. Along the way, the characters have crisscrossed and collided in ways we never saw coming, especially back in January ...

Pete Davidson slammed PETA after they criticized him for choosing to buy a new dog at a New York-based pet store instead of adopting one.
Not one to hold his tongue, after seeing the headlines, Davidson decided to call PETA’s Senior VP of Cruelty Investigations, Daphna Nachminovitch, himself and leave an expletive-filled voicemail.
After introducing himself, he said in the message, published by TMZ: “I just wanna let you know I’m severely allergic to dogs, so I have to get a specific breed.
“I’m only not allergic to cavapoos and those type of dogs.”
