The prequel digital comic book "Better Call Saul: Client Development", is written by Jenn Carroll and Gordon Smith, with illustrations by Steve Ellis, following lawyer 'Jimmy McGill' aka 'Saul Goodman' and ex-cop/enforcer 'Mike Ehrmantraut':
"... ‘Better Call Saul: Client Development' follows 'Mike Ehrmantraut' and 'Saul Goodman' as they work to root out the truth about Saul’s newest client, revealing exactly what took place between when 'Jimmy In-n-Out' gets arrested as 'Heisenberg' and the moment Saul confronts 'Walter White' in his chemistry classroom.
"As a bonus, the 'Better Call Saul' comic also includes an exclusive two-page short that reimagines Saul as a superhero, rescuing a client from the clutches of evil police officers..."

ViacomCBS unveiled a new ad-sales team that relies heavily on senior executives who were already reporting to Jo Ann Ross, the newly merged company’s ad-sales chief, when she was leading them at the former CBS Corp.
ViacomCBS said longtime Ross lieutenants John Bogusz, Linda Rene, Chris Simon, Dave Morris and David Lawenda will all remain part of the ad-sales team. Bogusz will continue to lead sports ad-sales; Rene will oversee primetime ad sales and advertising integrations; Simon will serve as executive vice president of network sales; Morris will take on a new role as chief client officer of ViacomCBS, focusing on the company’s overall portfolio and working to develop a unified ad strategy for the company’s top clients; and Lawenda will take on a new role overseeing ad-sales related to digital video and branded content across all ViacomCBS platforms as well as social influencer sales. About a month and a half after the close of the Viacom-CBS merger, the combined company has finalized the roster of advertising sales executives reporting up to Jo Ann Ross.
Last October, Ross was confirmed as the head of sales for the combined company, following a 27-year stretch at CBS, the latter half of which coincided with the flagship broadcast network’s rise to dominance.
While the announcement last fall about her promotion meant longtime Viacom sales chief Sean Moran was among the executives to depart, six additional departures have been revealed. Several of those remaining in the fold also have new titles and roles.
What follows is an overview of the newly configured ranks, according to insiders at ViacomCBS, who conveyed the news to employees on Wednesday afternoon.

The art above is from the comic book High Moon and it was created by artist Steve Ellis. This is not afliated with the movie. I just thought the art was cool!
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is teaming up with Issa López (Tigers Are Not Afraid ) for an untitled werewolf western, and I couldn’t be more excited for it!
We don’t get enough good horror/supernatural westerns, so when I see something like this go into development, I can’t help but get excited to see it. López recently talked with EW about the project saying:
“Yes, I have a movie with Guillermo del Toro, who not only became a champion of that movie but said, ‘What are you going to do next? Let’s do something!’ I could not believe that. So, we’re prepping a werewolf movie, a supernatural Western. It’s a werewolf-Western! I’m super excited.

Thq Nordic is working away on Saints Row 5, Dead Island 2, and the TimeSplitters franchise.
Thq Nordic has lifted the lid on its future plans just a smidge, following on from its acquisition of a lot of cool properties last year, allowing us to know that another Saints Row game is in the works as well as Dead Island 2 and some sort of content in the TimeSplitters franchise.
This news has come to light thanks to Thq Nordic's latest financial report document, which details the upcoming projects of Thq Nordic's internal publisher Deep Silver.
Lars Wingefors, founder and CEO of Thq Nordic, penned the report, with perhaps the biggest takeaway being the fact that Volition is "deep in development of a brand-new Saints Row game, the first full entry in this much-loved series since Saints Row IV was released in 2013." Whether or not this game will be titled Saints Row 5, Saints Row V,...

Fans of Syfy’s Haven have a little something extra to help tide them over until the Season 4 premiere — a comic book — and TVLine has a first look at a pair of pages from the adaptation, which will be bundled in Season 3 DVD sets (dropping Tuesday, Sept. 3).

Want to know what happened after the "Haven" Season 3 finale? The answer will be in a graphic novel, set to be included with the series' Season 3 DVD set.
"Haven: After the Storm" details the immediate events following the meteor storm seen at the end of the last season. According to Deadline, only 100,000 copies have been printed of this 16-page book. The only source will be as part of the DVD set.
Written by Nick Parker (the "Haven" writers assistant), illustrated by Steve Ellis ("Captain America," "Immortals: Gods & Heroes") and with a cover by Scott Hampton, the graphic novel will be available starting Sept. 3.
Season 4 of "Haven" picks up the story a full six months after the Season 3 finale, so this graphic novel is meant to fill in a bit of that time jump. With Audrey (Emily Rose) and Duke (Eric Balfour) in the disappearing barn, they probably won't be around.

It's not unusual for games to be cancelled before release, and some of them could have been great. Here's a pick of 25 promising examples...
Earlier this week, news emerged that Sega Studios Australia had pitched an idea to its parent company called Sega Reborn. These games would have revived some of Sega's classic names from the 80s and 90s - Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Streets Of Rage and Shinobi - and created new games around them, mixing tried-and-tested gameplay with high-res graphics and new ideas. The studio even put together a proof-of-concept video, which gave a rough idea of what a 21st century Golden Axe might look like.
For unknown reasons, Sega decided to pass on the idea, and Sega Studios Australia is set to close later this year - fittingly, perhaps, its last release will be a remake of Castle Of Illusion,...

Fans of the Syfy supernatural drama won’t have to wait until Haven returns for a fourth season on September 13 to learn what happened right after the explosive Season 3 finale. The Season 3 DVD set of the series will include an exclusive Haven: After The Storm mini-graphic novel. With 100,000 copies printed, the 16-page comic details the immediate aftershock of the meteor-falling season ender on the mysterious town of Haven, Maine. Among other things, that finale saw FBI agent-turned-local cop Audrey Parker (Emily Rose) and the Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour) character disappear into a vanishing barn. The DVD set comes out on September 3, and the graphic novel won’t be available anywhere else. The “Thanks For The Memories” episode of the eOne- and Big Motion Pictures-produced series, based on Stephen King’s 2005 novella The Colorado Kid, aired on January 17. The upcoming Season 4 of Haven actually picks up six months after the events of Season 3 finale,...

Sneak Peek "Breaking Bad: All Bad Things", a digital comic book recapping the first four-and-a-half seasons of the descent of 'Walter White' from mild-mannered chemistry teacher to drug kingpin.
All 20 pages of the digital comic are optimized for tablets, smartphones and Internet browsers.
To create the work, AMC's digital team collaborated with members of "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan's writing staff to hit the key moments in the series. The project also recruited illustrator Steve Ellis, who previously provided art for two "Breaking Bad" digital games.
"We were trying to come up with a bunch of different strategies for people to refresh their memories to catch up, to make sure they’re fully up to speed on everything for the final episodes," said Mac McKean, senior vice president of digital media for AMC.
"We want readers to re-experience what 'Walt' has been through, to kind of help them...

Two former Free Radical staffers have revealed that TimeSplitters 4 was in early production prior to the studio’s closure (and subsequent acquisition by Crytek in 2008), however, the poor reception of Haze and resistance from marketing teams blocked their efforts to find a publisher for the shooter.
Speaking to GamesTM, TimeSplitters co-creator Steve Ellis stated:
“TimeSplitters 4 was in the very early stages of development when Free Radical went into administration. A small playable demo was shown to several publishers, but it didn’t attract any publishing deals.”
Karl Hilton, a former Free Radical employee and current Crytek UK managing director, also spoke with the magazine about the TimeSplitters 4 demo, adding:
“We pitched [Timesplitters] to a lot of publishers, and from each of them we got the same two responses. Firstly, they would ask what happened with Haze. We were the company that made a series of high-rated shooters and then we had released Haze,...

Free Radical Design co-founder Steve Ellis revealed in a new interview that the developer was working on an HD version of TimeSplitters 2 before Crytek acquired the company in 2009.
NotEnoughShaders asked the legendary developer if he would like to see high-definition versions of the TimeSplitters games and Second Sight released through Xbla, Psn, or Nintendo’s eShop. Ellis, who is currently the Managing Director at the mobile developer Crash Lab, responded:
“We had a “HD” downloadable version of TimeSplitters 2 in development at Free Radical in 2008. I don’t know what happened to that but yes, I’d love to see it released at some point. Maybe it could be the catalyst that is required in order to raise enough interest in TimeSplitters 4 that a publisher might want to fund it.”

I’ve been a fan of Reilly Brown’s artwork since I first came across it in Marvel’s Cable & Deadpool, and have been following it off and on ever since. There are a lot of artists I like out there, but Reilly is consistently a favorite of mine – his characters’ expressions and the way his drawings capture the energy and emotion of whatever’s happening on the page really appeal to me. I also consider him among the pioneers of the digital comics medium. One of his current projects, Power Play, is a digital comic that was the first effective use of the medium that I had ever seen. To pull from my thoughts when I reviewed the Power Play preview in 2011:
“This is the kind of thing I geek out about, because it excites me to see the potential of the medium being explored to enhance the reading experience.

Integrity isn't the first word that comes to mind when you think of burritos. Chipotle is out to change that with a new marketing overhaul, Food with Integrity. Though they won't be tampering with the tasty (and caloric) burrito recipe, they hope to alter the way American think about fast food and fast food advertising.
Chipotle, a former subsidiary of McDonald's (the company went solo in 2006), partnered with San Francisco-based design and strategy firm Sequence to create an informative and somewhat irreverent campaign for its website and product packaging. Just click on the knotted string at the bottom of the screen, and The Chipotle supply chain appears.
"While we have never sourced these ingredients to be a marketing platform, it is what makes Chipotle so different from other restaurant companies” the company’s chief marketing officer Mark Crumpacker said in a release.

Just when you thought the Western had hung up its guns, "Jonah Hex" arrives in theaters this weekend.
While "Hex" stars Josh Brolin and Megan Fox are hoping the big-screen debut of DC's scarred bounty hunter does well enough to merit another whiskey-swigging adventure, comic book readers know that Jonah Hex has been kicking ass and slinging a six-shooter for nearly four decades now — and he's not alone. The western hero is not only alive and well in the comic world, there's a multitude of characters and stories to choose from, depending on your personal tastes.
Reckon you'd like to try out a few comics set in the Wild West?
"Jonah Hex: No Way Back" — Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti (w), Tony DeZuniga (a), DC Comics
An origin story of sorts for Jonah Hex, longtime "Hex" writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti team with the character's co-creator, artist Tony DeZuniga,...

Marvel's Russian superhero team The Winter Guard is to return for a new limited series titled Darkstar And The Winter Guard. Written by David Gallaher and drawn by Steve Ellis, the three-issue comic teams the Red Guardian with Darkstar, Ursa Major and the Crimson Dynamo. "People call them the Russian Avengers, but I don't think that's true - they're Russia's top line of defence," Gallaher told Cbr. "They're Russia's GI Joe, essentially. "I think Russia wants their heroes to feel immortal. They want their heroes (more)...

If you want to know where your favorite creator is signing for Free Comic Book Day this Saturday, I recommend checking their Twitter feed. If you're lucky, they might even preview some special sketch cards they've been working on for the event like "Mouse Guard" creator David Petersen has been doing.
His artwork got some competition in the Twitter Report today, though, as Brad Meltzer perused an absolutely stupefying original art collection that included George Pérez Titans, an Alex Ross Green Lantern and even a John Byrne Power Man. Some of those are retweeted below, but Meltzer's account is worth a click for all the TweetPhoto links. Check 'em out along with Stan Lee's latest contribution to Suphero City on "Marvel Superhero Squad," what it's like when Geoff Johns runs into Brian Michael Bendis and which movie Ed Brubaker picked up this week.
It's all documented in the Twitter Report for April 29, 2010.

This week is a lighter week than last week, so I’m going to take this opportunity to talk about some of the books that came out last week that I didn’t get a chance to check out because of Thanksgiving. Which reminds me: comics do not come out today (Wednesday, Dec. 2) they come out tomorrow because of the holiday.
Last week the trade came out for one of the best miniseries that not a lot of people may know about. This book is Wildstorm’s The Winter Men by Brett Lewis and John Paul Leon. Lewis is responsible for the creation of Bulletproof Monk and this new book is incomparable. It involves the development of a super soldier program in Cold War Russia to serve as a deterrent to America’s Superman. The trade came out last week, and if you can find it, you really cannot go wrong with this incredible book.

High Moon
Dave Gallaher & Steve Ellis
DC Comics, 192 pages, $14.99
DC’s online imprint, Zuda Comics, has certainly been a hit or miss affair but when it hits, there’s a pleasure in discovering new talent or new concepts. While Bayou was a breakout hit, the most consistent entry remains High Moon, written by former ComicMix contributor Dave Gallaher, illustrated by Steve Ellis and lettered by Scott O. Brown.
Gallaher had this notion for years but managed to earn one of the inaugural slots when Zuda went live in late 2007 and the strip won the first reader contest. It has since received plaudits from around the field and now DC is releasing the first three stories in a trade paperback.
The three stories comprising the first volume mix the western and horror genres with a dash of steampunk and overly, it’s a breezy, entertaining read. The focal point surrounds the Macgregor family,...

Production Weekly's back with another quick, random update on a script currently garnering some form of attention in Hollywood (similar to their update on War - a script we've received since this report ). This time it's High Moon . Pw writes, "In Eddie Nickerson's horror Western 'High Moon' a reckless outlaw is a small town's only hope for survival from a vicious band of werewolves." Those are the only details they've provided. Our question: Is this an adaptation of Zuda Comics' similarly-titled web series ? (Zuda's an imprint of DC Comics.) Created by David Gallaher and Steve Ellis, the story follows a bounty hunter who strolls into the town of Blest and finds himself neck-deep in lycanthropy and witchcraft. We'll do a bit of digging to find out more...

Fred Van Lente may have one of the strangest resumes in modern comics.
After all, not many writers can give their first claim to fame as writing an award-winning non-fiction comic book series both satirizing and paying tribute to the greatest thinkers in human history; yet that’s his name alongside artist Ryan Dunlavey’s on the cover of Action Philosophers, which won the Xeric Grant in 2004.
Since then, he’s gone on to write what seems like an endless stream of series and miniseries for Marvel: Marvel Adventures Iron Man, Marvel Adventures Spider-man, Marvel Adventures Fantastic Four, Amazing Fantasy, Super-Villain Team-Up: Modok’s 11, Wolverine: First Class, and more besides.
These days, his most steady gig is co-writing (with Greg Pak) Marvel’s Incredible Hercules, a fan favorite series and critical darling that’s been praised for mixing mythology with good old Marvel superheroics. He’s also writing the X-Men Noir miniseries,...

Zuda Comics will offer up their first print compilations next summer according to Wired. Bayou by Jeremy Love will have his feature collected first, coming in June.
The magazine says the strip “tackles racism and violence in 1930s Mississippi, is as hypnotic as it is unsettling.”
Our own Dave Gallaher’s High Moon, illustrated by Steve Ellis, will be out in time for Halloween.
Zuda is now in its second year of existence and has been DC’s unique approach to digital comics. While advertiser supported, the print compilations will go towards monetizing the site for parent company DC Comics.
The magazine notes, “What's new is Zuda's ability to use the internet as a minor league for major comics fame. Now that its webcomics are beginning to metamorphose into printed graphic novels, the operation should reach even more comics fans.”...

Next October, a High Moon will shine at Zuda Comics. The online imprint of DC Comics has announced that in October 2009, the previously web-only comic “High Moon” will be printed into trade paperback. The story revolves around Matthew Macgregor, a former Pinkerton agent, as he investigates a series of disappearances linked to the curse of the werewolf.
The comic was written by David Gallagher and Steve Ellis, and illustrated by Scott O. Brown. The title was selected last December as a winner of Zuda’s online contest. DC gave the team $13,000 to complete a second “season” of the highly-rated web comic.
“With only eight screens to tell your story, you need to be ready to be awesome right out of the gate,” said Gallagher in an interview last year with Johanna Draper Carlson. “So, give it your all and make sure your submission is the best that you can make it.
