Dominic Fike has released a music video for his song “Think Fast,” which features Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo. The moody clip was directed by Floridaman, and sees Fike singing from atop a wrecked boat and while fighting the wind in a desolate field.
“Think Fast” appears on Fike’s recent sophomore LP, Sunburn, which dropped in July. The singer has previously shared music videos for album cuts “Ant Pile” and “Dancing In The Courthouse.”

slowthai has pleaded not guilty to two counts of raping a woman in September 2021, reports BBC News.
The rapper, born Tyron Frampton, entered the plea on Thursday, June 15th at a Crown Court in Oxford, where the alleged incident took place. In May, slowthai was charged with oral and vaginal penetration of a woman without her consent.
His co-defendant, Alex Blake-Walker, pleaded not guilty to one charge of sexually assaulting the same woman, as well as charges of raping and sexually assaulting a second complainant. Both defendants have been released on conditional bail until their trial in July 2024.
After the charges were made public, slowthai’s name was removed from the posters for several major UK festivals — including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, and Parklife — and many of his remaining shows have either been canceled or postponed.

Slowthai’s name was quietly removed from the lineups of the Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds festivals after the British rapper was charged with two counts of rape on Tuesday. While neither festival has made an official announcement regarding the decision to drop him, Rolling Stone confirmed that Slowthai is no longer listed on the lineups for the events on their official websites. A rep for either festival did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.

UK rapper slowthai was charged with two counts of rape on Tuesday, May 16th for an alleged September 2021 incident that took place in Oxford, reports The Guardian.
According to the British newspaper, the artist born Tyron Frampton was charged with oral and vaginal penetration of a woman without her consent while appearing remotely before Oxfordshire magistrates court via video. Frampton only spoke to confirm his real name, date of birth, and Northampton address.

Shortly after the charges were made public, slowthai shared a statement on social media. “regarding the allegations being reported about me,” he wrote. “i categorically deny the charges. i am innocent and i am confident my name will be cleared.”

Dominic Fike has dropped a new single, “Dancing In The Courthouse,” along with a Florida-set music video directed by Jack Begert.
The song and video reflect on the actor and musician’s upbringing in the state, including his childhood run-ins with the law that ultimately led to him being placed on house arrest and serving a short stint in jail just ahead of the release of his debut EP. Fike has been teasing the track all week on Twitter with clips from the video.

“Hi, motherf***er, did you miss me?” Lizzo opens the show with the sing-song taunt of her 2022 song “The Sign”. Judging from the roar that subsequently fills the O2 Arena, the answer is clearly, yes. It’s the first time that the 34-year-old empowerment pop-soul sensation has headlined an arena tour in the UK but she’s familiar with this side of the pond. During her early years on the scene in the 2010s, Lizzo played in the country’s various bars and small venues. Smallest venues, even. “We went from getting f***ed up in the Travelodge to selling out the O2 twice!” she exclaims later.

Katherine Ryan has admitted she is eager to “roast” celebrities and revealed that an award show stage would be the perfect place for her to do it.
The Canadian comedian, 39, who starred in The Duchess, explained in a new interview that she “would die” to present any of the major awards ceremonies this season.
The mother-of-three told Metro: “I would die to present the Baftas or the Oscars or the Emmys or the Mobo awards or the Brits – anything like that.
She added: “I feel like it’s almost the last place where a comedian can roast and that’s because the status in the room is so high that someone like Ricky Gervais does an incredible job of letting those people show their vulnerability and have a laugh at themselves.”
“I love that kind of comedy. I would love to do that,” the comedian said.

It’s 9pm on a Wednesday, and a man with a mullet is crowd surfing across the George Tavern in Shadwell. The weekend has arrived early in this corner of east London, it seems – and it came with Slowthai.
The punkish, 28-year-old Northampton rapper is four nights into a six-date tour of pubs, social clubs and back rooms that’s so far touched down in Sunderland, Blackpool and Milton Keynes. He’s blitzing through tracks from his scuzzy new post-punk leaning album, Ugly, which no one in the 150-strong crowd has heard yet – but that, evidenced by the man with the mullet, doesn’t appear to matter. “Everyone put your phones away, so we can just be in the moment,” says Slowthai, born Tyron Kaymone Frampton. It’s more demand than request: people nattering at the back get booted out to the smoking area not long after.

slowthai has released his third studio album, Ugly, via Method Records/Interscope Records. Stream it via Apple Music or Spotify below, and get tickets to his upcoming tour dates here.
The title of the album is an acronym for U Gotta Love Yourself, the sentiment of which is reflected in slowthai’s description of the album as “completely me — about how I feel and what I want to be… it’s everything I’ve been leading up to.” The sound of Ugly taps back into slowthai’s love of artists like Nirvana, Radiohead, and Daniel Johnston.
“This album was me trying to emulate the spirit of the brotherhood ethos that bands have. Music is about the feeling and emotion that goes into it,” the British artist said in a statement. “Like an artist making a painting, it’s the expression of that moment in time. “I’ve been lacking motivation, I need an innervention,” gasps slowthai in the opening bars of his third album, Ugly. It is, perhaps, an acknowledgement of his disappointing second album, Tyron (2021). Released in the wake of his bad behaviour at the 2020 NME awards (where he made sexually inappropriate comments to host Katherine Ryan), that record had handed off all his most personal lyrics to guest artists. But Ugly finds the Northampton-born rapper back on intense, energetic form, taking a series of rapid breaths before plunging back into the chaotic energy of his soul. An “innervention”, he told Rolling Stone, is a self-reckoning. “You look inward,” he explained, “and you go, ‘Check yourself, man.’ Then you’re like, ‘Ok, I went into autopilot, and I had to pull myself back into my body in some way but I’m awake now.”

Slowthai leans into a bruising post-punk sound on his new song, “Selfish,” which will appear on his upcoming third album, Ugly, out March 3 via Method Records/Interscope Records.
Though arguably known first-and-foremost as a rapper, the frenetic, anxious rock-leaning style of “Selfish” is something Slowthai has explored on past songs like “Doorman” and “Deal Wiv It” (both of which were collaborations with Mura Masa). In a statement, Slowthai spoke about examining his own selfishness, especially in relation to his ambitions: “I want to be there for them but I’m always striving,...

Blur’s guitarist Graham Coxon has opened up about his worries during the height of the band’s success.
Coxon said he struggled to deal with fame, and the attention from some of the band’s more obsessive fans, whom he described as“unhinged”.
“You get unhinged people. People who are obsessive,” said the 53-year-old in an interview with The Idler.
Coxon explained that some intrusive attention had led to him worry constantly and suffer from insomnia.
“Until it happens to you, you don’t quite realise just what a nightmare that is,” he said.
“Months and months of not sleeping. Worrying every day, every hour of the day. It was awful,” he added.
Some superfans even made efforts to have engagements with Coxon’s girlfriends during the 1990s, he recalled.
“You’d be on tour and your girlfriend would have all these suitors, trying to get with your girlfriend.

Slowthai, the fiercely political U.K. rapper, was forced to issue a clarification and apology after his anti-fascist t-shirt was misconstrued as fascist.
While performing at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal over the weekend, Slowthai wore a version of an iconic Vivienne Westwood-designed shirt emblazoned with a swastika, an upside-down illustration of Christ on the cross, and the word “Destroy” above it. Photos and videos of Slowthai and his shirt quickly started spreading on social media, and even though the extremely important word “Destroy” was pretty clearly visible, the...

After feuding with local officials in his hometown of Virginia Beach, Pharrell will take his Something in the Water Festival to Washington D.C. this year.
The fest premiered in 2019 but was postponed in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19. It will return this summer, taking place on Independence Avenue in D.C. during Juneteenth weekend, June 17 through 19.
The musician made the decision to pull Something in the Water from Virginia Beach last year, citing “toxic energy” in local government. Specifically, he criticized the narrative changes that surrounded the police killing of his 25-year-old cousin,...

Dominic Fike has released his inadvertently meme-able ballad, “Elliot’s Song,” from the Euphoria finale — and, yes, it is shorter than it was on the show.
The tune, penned by Zendaya and series composer Labrinth, featured prominently in the final episode of the show’s second season as Fike’s character, Elliot, broke out the ol’ acoustic guitar and serenaded Zendaya’s character, Rue, as the pair made amends. While the moment was intended to be poignant, it ended up causing a stir among Euphoria fans online, mostly due to...

Brockhampton’s Merlyn Wood has dropped the video for new solo single “S.Y.K.” He’s the latest member from the group to step out from the band with solo material following founding member Kevin Abstract since their Saturation trilogy in 2017.
In the “S.Y.K.” (which stands for “so you know”) visual, he teams up with Los Angeles-based artist Connie, who co-directed the video with Well Known Studios. The pair are seen in a black light-lit room.
“I don’t got no friends, just the benefits,” Wood raps.

Amazon Prime Video announced that the comedy special “Yearly Departed” will return for its second special this December, this time hosted by Yvonne Orji.
The new special will feature an all-female lineup of guests to be announced at a later date. They will bid farewell to the trends we are leaving behind in 2021, including hot vaxx summer, hermit life, ignoring the climate crisis and Zoom.
“In my career, I’ve been fortunate to work on a show that was created by Blacks, for Black characters, and now, I get to host a special that was written by all women, featuring a lineup of incredibly funny female comedians, directed by a talented female director and produced by a group of amazing female producers. I guess lightning can strike twice,” said Orji.

Gorillaz have surprise-released a new three-track EP, Meanwhile, to celebrate Carnival and West London.
The project opens with “Meanwhile,” featuring Jelani Blackman with Barrington Levy, which is described in a release as an homage to the famous Notting Hill Carnival, which would have taken place this weekend, but was canceled due to the pandemic. Kevin Abstract and longtime collaborator and friend Ryan Beatty team up in the video for new song “Sierra Nights.” The single is his second solo track of the year and is expected to appear on Abstract’s upcoming third solo album.
In the laidback, self-directed clip, the Brockhampton founding member and Beatty take a road trip around California, where they drive along the Pacific Coast Highway, and chill with friends and drop verses at gas stations. Towards the end, the duo hang out on a roof and soak in the star-light night sky.

Lollapalooza, one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S., is coming up fast, following up hip-hop fest Rolling Loud Miami as one of the music festivals making their big summer comeback. While everyone has already started to pack some bags and coordinate a plan (like we’ve said before, planning is key), it doesn’t come without a hint of caution this year.
The annual fest comes after Lollapalooza postponed the 2020 event due to Covid-19, missing a year in Chicago’s Grant Park for the first time since...

As the world re-opens and live music and nightlife return, you can sense a significant shift of energy in the air. A fluctuation in the cultural mood. More people are returning to the summer parties and club nights that once cemented us in the present moment and reified our participation in living amongst other people. The artist and DJ Shygirl has emerged as the soundtrack to the moment. The 28-year-old musician has seen a steady rise in the U.K. Grime and queer club scenes and is known for her unique synthesis of the two.

It’s not too difficult to imagine the impulse behind a song like “Cancelled,” the second single from the British rapper Slowthai’s new album, Tyron. The track features Skepta and follows a familiar revenge fantasy: our anti-hero MCs versus the proverbial naysayers, who in this case are the online agents of so-called cancel culture. At this point it’s an exhausting form of discourse. There are few things more unappealing than thinking about what people have to say on the internet. But throughout Tyron, Slowthai appears to be reckoning...

Slowthai and Skepta pay tribute to an array of classic horror flicks in the new video for their track, “Cancelled,” off the former’s new album, Tyron.
Directed by the Rest, the video opens with a nod to the classic “Whassup?” Budweiser commercials — which were in turn spoofed in Scary Movie — with Slowthai, Skepta, and Slowthai’s frequent collaborators Kwes Darko, Krash, and Samo all hopping on the phone to give a full-throated “Wagwaaaaan?” The rest of the clip finds Slowthai and Skepta recreating scenes from slasher flicks like American Psycho,...

Northampton, situated about 90 minutes north of London in Britain’s East Midlands, is best known for making shoes. Its residents have been churning out footwear since the 17th century, when they provided the boots worn by Parliamentarian soldiers in the English Civil War, and the town remains home to some of the best shoemakers in the world. “People travel to get these shoes, and that’s always been the thing we’re known for,” says Slowthai, 26. “It makes people think it’s a bubble here, like this is as far as it goes.

U.K. rapper Slowthai has enlisted A$AP Rocky for a new song, “Mazza,” from his upcoming album, Tyron, out February 5th via Method/Awge/Interscope.
Tyron is split into two thematic and sonic halves, and “Mazza” fits decisively in the album’s harder opening section. Slowthai produced the track with regular collaborator Samo, letting a woozy synth purr over dense bass hits and sharp drums. Slowthai and Rocky peel off verses packed with punchlines, the former spitting, “Gin and tonic/I’m a bigger topic/Bigger pocket/Can’t close my wallet,...

Los Angeles, Nov 25 (Ians) The 2021 Grammy Awards nominations are all about women power with Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa leading the way.
Beyonce is leading the contender at the 2021 Grammy Awards with nine nods. She is followed by Taylor Swift, Roddy Ricch and Dua Lipa, who earned six nominations each.
Brittany Howard, of Alabama Shakes fame, earned five nominations for her solo debut. Earning four each were Billie Eilish, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Phoebe Bridgers, Justin Bieber, jazz pianist John Beasley and classical producer David Frost, reports Variety.
As a shocker, The Weeknd didn't get nominated. Despite being predicted to dominate the nominations at the 63rd annual Grammys, the pop-r&b superstar's "Blinding lights" single and "After Hours" album got zero nominations.

That’s saying something; Albarn has always proposed Gorillaz as a space beyond and between pop music’s borders, and over the decades everyone from Mark E. Smith to Bobby Womack to Pusha T has felt at home swinging by to chill. It’s a project that feels especially worthwhile in the era of Brexit and hyper-nationalism, even if the albums it produces can often be so intentionally all-over-the place as to sometimes seem nowhere at all.

Slowthai gives birth in the video for “Feel Away,” a new song featuring James Blake and Mount Kimbie.
Directed by Oscar Hudson (who previously worked on Radiohead’s “Lift” video), the clip features the U.K. rapper in a maternity ward as he grows a pregnant belly and gets an ultrasound. Shortly after he gives birth, the baby bizarrely turns out to be cake — which he eagerly breaks apart and eats at the end. Blake appears on vocals, singing, “This time I’ll have one hand free/This has nothing to do with me.
