Cheryl Burke was the longest-running female Dancing with the Stars pro. However, despite her longevity and success on the series, Burke once believed she was “too fat for TV.”
Cheryl Burke felt negative about her body as a ‘Dancing with the Stars’ pro
Throughout her Dancing with the Stars career, Cheryl Burke felt she looked different than her other female pros. She compared her body to others whom she believed were thinner.
During an appearance on the Amy & Tj Podcast, Burke admits she has body dysmorphia. She believes appearing on the show added to the negative feelings she already had about her body.
“As far as wearing one of the outfits, I would probably get on some, I don’t know, some sort of strict diet,” Burke said of the possibility of ever appearing on the series again.
“But that’s my body dysmorphia that I’ll forever have … I’m very open with that,...

The longtime ballroom dancer is settling the score herself. Cheryl Burke has revealed that she had a total of three romances over the course of her 26 seasons on the ABC competition series Dancing With the Stars. Some of her past dance partners on the show included Drew Lachey, Rob Kardashian, William Levy, Drew Carey, and Ryan Lochte. But Burke is keeping secret exactly who she romance ed, at least for now. The dancer unveiled the lore regarding her love life on the show on Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes‘ podcast, “Amy & T.J.” As Burke explained, ballroom dancing is an intimate sport that requires time and vulnerability from both partners for several weeks seven days a week. Especially given the fact that contestants are learning a new skill, it’s a natural – or unnatural – environment for romance to emerge. “It happens,” said Burke. “It is [love] in that moment, and then you’re like,...

“Dancing with the Stars” premiered in 2005 with a focus on teaching celebrities some fancy footwork. But along the way the professional dancers who teach and partner with those celebrity amateurs became stars in their own right. Many of them returned to the show year after year, and over a dozen have won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy over the course of the series. Scroll down to see every single “DWTS” pro champion, listed by their number of victories.
It’s fitting that the “DWTS” pros have become fan-favorites because they’re not just dancers. Will Grammy-winner Jason Mraz win the Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy this season on “Dancing with the Stars”? He’s one of five finalists headed into the December 5 season finale, and he’s the latest in a long line of successful recording artists who have appeared on the show.

It’s hard to know how musicians will do on “DWTS.” Given their professional experience, they usually have a natural sense of rhythm and musicality, but they don’t always have prior dance experience, and they don’t always make it far in the competition. Sometimes they fall short like Spice Girls member Melanie C, “American Idol” champ Jordin Sparks and R&b star Tinashe, often because viewer voters let them down.

Pop group 98 Degrees is crediting Taylor Swift as the one who inspired them to rerecord their masters.
The boy band, comprised of Jeff Timmons, Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, and Justin Jeffre, recently told E! News that they have been in the studio working on a new project after their tour wrapped.
“We’re gonna rerecord five of our classic hits in kind of the rerecord/get-your-masters-back move,” Nick said. “And then we’re also gonna have five new songs as well, and a new single coming out at the top of the year.”
Jeff noted that the group has been talking about doing it for some time because “there have been opportunities for our songs. And you know, you have these battles with the label.” But it was the global pop star who actually pushed them to make the jump.

You can take the dance pro out of the ballroom but not the ballroom out of the dance pro. Cheryl Burke, a two-time mirror ball champion, whose name is synonymous with Dancing With the Stars, left the reality-based competition series at the end of Season 31 last year. However, she’s still got plenty to say about her experience having coached celebs including Emmitt Smith, Drew Lachey, Gilles Marini, Ian Ziering, and many others how to Tango and do the Paso Doble. She’s doing so on a new iHeartRadio podcast, Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans. Sure, the series may have a provocative title and Burke is already digging deep with the interviews she’s done, but she’s approaching her interviews with a deep sense of gratitude for how DWTS changed her life. Read on to get the scoop on how the idea for the show came about and a preview of upcoming guests.

Cheryl Burke is leaving “Dancing With the Stars” after Season 31 — and hopes she’ll be back in another capacity.
In an interview with Variety, the professional dancer, who announced her exit via Instagram on Sunday, detailed the decision to leave after competing on 26 seasons.
“If I were to just talk as an athlete, a dancer and a woman, my time has been up. I’m 38 years old. When I came on as a competitive dancer at 21, It was a different story,” she explains. “That decision in itself was really tough for me — to put everything aside, to come [to L.A.] and do a TV show that I had no clue was gonna last for this long. My intention was just to be here for one season and move back.”
Burke has been part of “Dancing With the Stars” since 2006. She won both Seasons 2 and 3, with partners Drew Lachey and Emmitt Smith, respectively.

“Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough holds the record for the most championships among professional dancers. He won the Mirror Ball Trophy six times over the course of his run on the show. That’s even more remarkable when you consider that no other pro dancer on the show has ever won more than two. It’s unlikely that anyone will come close to that record before the show ultimately runs its course — whenever that will be — but this season there are multiple double winners who could finally achieve that elusive hat trick.

The recording industry has certainly transformed since 98 Degrees came onto the scene 25 years ago, but one thing remains the same: "There's still some great music being made," Nick Lachey tells Popsugar. Ahead of a 98 Degrees reunion concert at all-inclusive resort Beaches Turks & Caicos in late August, the R&b group chat with Popsugar about nostalgia's impact on their revival, all things '90s boy bands, and what members Nick and Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre have been up to since they first started adorning posters.
Last summer, the band released new music for the first time in eight years: an upbeat track called "Where Do You Wanna Go" that was "great for the moment." "Everybody had been in lockdown for so long, and when things were opening back up, we thought the song was incredibly catchy and just represented fun," Jeffre says. "Everybody was ready to get back out and have some fun.

“Dancing with the Stars” season 31 premieres on Monday night, September 19, on its new home, Disney+, but which of the 16 celebrities will win the Mirror Ball Trophy? The celebs haven’t stepped foot in the ballroom yet, but fans have been making their predictions here in our predictions center since the cast was officially announced. So who are they betting on?
Right now it looks like a two-horse race. Jordin Sparks leads our predictions with 4/1 odds based on fans’ combined predictions. So what makes her such a strong early contender to win? Well, she’s an “American Idol” alum, just like season 16 winner Kellie Pickler. And beyond that, singers and recording artists in general have had a strong track record on “DWTS.” Consider other winners like Drew Lachey (season two), Nicole Scherzinger (season 10), and Amber Riley (season 17), and finalists like Nick Carter (season 21), Normani (season 24), Lindsey Stirling (season 25), and Ally Brooke...

Cheryl Burke is gearing up for “Dancing with the Stars” Season 30 — her 24th as a pro — but she may very well hang up her “Dancing” (and dancing) shoes after that.
“You know as a dancer, especially as a woman, our career — it doesn’t last very long. The fact that I’m 37 and still sambaing out there and shimmying is pretty unheard of,” Burke said on Tuesday’s “Tamron Hall” when asked if this season will be her last (watch below). “I’m not in the competitive level anymore, but still, I also have to understand that I have arthritis in my body, you know? The pounding and pounding and pounding.”
The pro added that she also wants to start a family with her husband of two years, Matthew Lawrence. “I have to think about, ‘Ok, it’s not just me now. It’s me and my husband, and what...

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for the Season 5 finale of Fox’s “The Masked Singer.”)
Piglet was crowned the Season 5 winner of “The Masked Singer” tonight and unmasked to reveal singer, actor and TV personality Nick Lachey as the man inside the pink costume. But Lachey said his kids have known who he was ever since the season premiere on March 10 — unlike his clueless 98 Degrees bandmates.
“You know what, I don’t know if they just weren’t watching or what. But my brother [Drew Lachey] kind of heard about it and chimed in,” Lachey told TheWrap, noting that if Drew, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre did figure out he was competing on “The Masked Singer,” none of them pushed him on the matter.
“But the funniest reaction, I think, was my kids,” Lachey continued. “We were watching the premiere episode and I was holding my daughter. I think I...

The final three celebrity contestants in the fight for the Golden Mask are disguised as the Black Swan, Chameleon and Piglet. Over the course of the first 10 episodes, the rest of the 14 contenders were unmasked. The most recent of these was eliminated on the May 19 semi-final when the Yeti was revealed to be rapper Omarion.
We had figured out the real name of the last of these four Wild Cards before this big reveal by rewatching all of Yeti’s previous performances and clues videos. “Dancing with the Stars” is coming back for a 30th season this fall, and there’s a long list of celebrities I’d love to see compete. Let us know which you’d most like to see on “DWTS” by voting in the poll at the bottom of this post And of course let us know in the comments who else you would like to see when the show returns in September.

The Piglet proved himself to be the most versatile performer on “The Masked Singer” with his appearance on last week’s quarterfinal. He started out singing opera before transitioning into “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder. This double play won over the four judges, who put the Piglet through to the May 19 semifinal. They are right about his talent and, among their many wrong guesses, they might finally be right about his real name.
We nailed his name the first time he sang back in Week 2 when he covered the Dan + Shay hit “Speechless.” Since then he has gone from strength to strength starting with “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” by Andy Grammer in Week 4 followed by “7 Years” by Lukas Graham in Week 6, “The Pretender” by Foo Fighters in Week 7 and “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now”) by Phil Collins in Week 8. After nailing his cover of the Phil Collins classic “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now”) on the Week 8 episode, the Piglet heads into the May 12 quarterfinals as the frontrunner to win season 5 of “The Masked Singer.” We’ve been a fan of his since he made his debut in Week 2 with his version of the Dan + Shay hit “Speechless.”
We’ve been sure about the real name of the Piglet since that first appearance. We concur with the four judges that the Piglet got his start in a boy band. However we don’t think he is Lance Bass, Brian Littrell, Aj McLean or Kevin Richardson.
Each time he has performed since, we became even more convinced we were right with our guess about the Piglet’s true identity. We went back and watched all his performances including “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” by Andy Grammer...

The Piglet has been one of the favorites to win season 5 of “The Masked Singer” since he made his first appearance back in Week 2. He rocked the room then with his cover of the Dan + Shay hit “Speechless.” In Week 4 he nailed his cover of “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” by Andy Grammer. The following week he did it again with “7 Years” by Lukas Graham. Then in Week 7, he impressed the four judges by shifting genres so seamlessly and delivering yet again with a performance of “The Pretender” by Foo Fighters.
When it comes to guessing the true identity of the Piglet, the judges are on the right track with their thinking that he got his start in a boy band. However we disagree with them that the Lance Bass, Aj McLean or Kevin Richardson. We’ve gone back and rewatched all of his appearances and clues packages.

With every appearance on “The Masked Singer,” the Piglet has moved one step closer to winning the Golden Mask for season 5. On April 21, he wowed us once again with his change-of-pace performance of “The Pretender” by Foo Fighters. The four judges were equally impressed with his cover of this rock classic. We agree with them that the Piglet got his start in a boy band, but we don’t think he is Lance Bass, Aj McLean or Kevin Richardson.

Cheryl Burke is still on this season of “Dancing with the Stars,” but she might be done as a pro on the show for good soon. During an interview on the “Chicks in the Office” podcast, the two-time champ suggested she’ll call time on her “Dancing” career after being asked how long she envisioned herself doing the show.
“My hips don’t lie, and I’m starting to get tendonitis. For a woman, as far as ballroom dancing competitively goes, normally in their 30s [they retire],” Burke said. “I’m 36, so it’s like, ‘Ok, time to hang up those shoes.'”

The third time has been anything but a charm for “Dancing with the Stars” pros, but you hope Cheryl Burke can become just the second pro to win a third Mirrorball trophy.
Burke is one of three two-time winners competing this season, along with Val Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, and 43 percent of you want her to notch a third win first. Derek Hough, who is now a judge on the show, owns the most Mirrorballs, at a whopping six, and no one else has won more than two.
The result isn’t that surprising since Burke has the most seniority and the longest gap since her last win of the three. Now in her 23rd season, she won on her very first try, Season 2 with Drew Lachey, and defended her crown the following season with Emmitt Smith, becoming the first two-time champ. She’s since had two second-place finishes and three third-place finishes.

Three wins is a very tough barrier for “Dancing with the Stars” pros to cross — well, unless you’re name is Derek Hough. The new judge is the only pro to have crossed that threshold, having nabbed a record six victories. Six other pros have triumphed twice, three of whom — Cheryl Burke, Val Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd — have yet another chance to add a third this season. Who would you like to see lift their third Mirrorball trophy?
Now in her 23rd season, Burke came in to “Dancing” hot: She joined in Season 2 and won that with Drew Lachey and then backed it up with a second straight victory in the third season with Emmitt Smith. She’s since notched two second-place finishes and three third-place finishes.

We had high expectations for Aj McLean going into season 29 of “Dancing with the Stars,” not just because singers have done well on the show in general, but because boy band members have done especially well. “Girl on Fire” indeed. Hannah Brown’s “Dancing with the Stars” victory on Monday ended a four-season streak of male champs and equalized the number of male and female winners.
Now “Dancing” has an even 14 male winners and 14 female winners through 28 seasons. As Thanos would say, “Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.” What’s interesting about its champs, though, is a bunch have come during some one-gender domination. Seasons 2 through 5 were won by men; Seasons 15 through 18 were won by women; and Season 24 through 27 were all dudes again.
Had Kel Mitchell, who finished second, prevailed, it would’ve marked the longest win streak by either gender at five straight.

The last female winner was Laurie Hernandez on Season 23. The Olympic champ also set a record as the show’s youngest female winner and youngest overall winner at 16. To...

After a one-week hiatus, James Van Der Beek has reclaimed the top spot in our “Dancing with the Stars” odds as not only the one to beat, but the guy to beat. The next closest man in our odds is — gulp — Sean Spicer in seventh place. If the “Dawson’s Creek” alum does take home the Mirrorball, he’d be the fifth consecutive man to win, marking the longest win streak by either gender on the show.
“Dancing” has had a pretty even split through 27 seasons with 13 female champs and 14 male champs. But there has been some same-sex domination in there, but none more than four in a row: Seasons 2 through 5 were won by men; Seasons 15 through 18 were won by women; and since Season 24, we’ve had dude champs.

“Dancing With the Stars” premiers on Monday, September 16, with former Fifth Harmony singer Ally Brooke among the celebrities vying for the Mirror Ball Trophy. Will she be able to capture the win that her former band mate Normani was unable to? Let’s consider her pros and cons.

Pros
Pop singers tend to have a leg up in the competition due to their musical background. In fact, several former boy band and girl group members like Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys), Mel B (Spice Girls), Joey Fatone and Lance Bass (Nsync), Drew Lachey (98 Degrees), and Nicole Scherzinger (Pussycat Dolls) have made it to the finals, with Lachey and Scherzinger winning season 2 and 10, respectively. Brooke could join this group, along with the aforementioned Normani, who placed third in season 24.
Although pop stars may have the dance experience, some lack an emotional connection to the audience.

“Dancing with the Stars” was recently renewed for a 28th season, and there’s a long list of celebrities who deserve to compete on the dance floor. ABC entertainment president Karey Burke also recently revealed that they’re “going after bigger stars than we have in a long time.” Below is a list of female celebs I think the show should consider inviting to the ballroom to vie for the next Mirror Ball Trophy. Do you agree with my picks? Check them out below, and vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know which you’d most like to see on “DWTS.” And feel free to let us know in the comments what other stars you would like to see when the show comes back in September.

After following in his late father Steve Irwin‘s footsteps as a conservationist, Robert Irwin may now follow in his sister Bindi Irwin‘s footsteps on the hardwood on “Dancing with the Stars.”
“I’m not as graceful as Bindi, let’s just say that. I’m not very graceful,” Robert warns “Entertainment Tonight.” “[But] I’d give it a go.”
One of the best contestants in the show’s history, Bindi won Season 21 in 2015 with Derek Hough, giving him his record sixth Mirrorball trophy. The pair also set a record of most perfect scores in a season with eight, a mark that has since been eclipsed by Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold in Season 25.
Robert, 15, doubts he’d come anywhere near that, which could just be him being humble or tempering expectations; Bindi did set a very high bar to clear. But it doesn’t sound like he’d turn...
