Great Movie
5 April 2006
This is probably Spike Lee's best movie, except for Malcolm X, growing up in Washington DC and being dark skinned, I can relate to what the movie is really saying, I went to one of the lesser known colleges in DC, and I do wish that I could of went to Howard University, but it seemed that if you are light skinned, you will be noticed more than others, I was truly inspired about Spike Lee's performance as Half Pint, he was infatuated as being a gammar man, and was really trying very hard to fulfill his obligations and make everyone believe he is strong and not weak, I also liked the other actors in the movie like Lawrence (Larry) Fishburn and Sammuel L. Jackson whom went on to become huge stars of there on.

I was told about this motion picture from my good friend Rick, and he has always told me to look up this movie from the Web Site and view it, after all of the comments that I have read, I am surely excited about getting this motion picture and seeing it, it is about the group Earth, Wind and Fire, they was one of my favorite singers during the 1970's, right after I came back from Viet-Nam, the motion picture depicts about them coming into the spot light, there many songs and encounters with other groups has made this movie something special to see I was told by Rick, I am looking forward to seeing this motion picture, and I hope many of you are also wondering about this movie.

I loved this movie, but I did not know that my favorite black female star was in it Kimberly Elise), this beautiful black woman does something to be when I watch her on the screen, I am also a fan of Tyler Perry, I am extremely glad to see a young black man make it in the motion picture field, as an actor, writer and producer, (spike Lee move over because there is somebody coming up behind you), and he is very very talented. This movie has everything in it, laughter, sadness, it also will make you mad at some of the screens, but you will love it always, I cannot wait until it comes on DVD, I know I will see it again and again.

GOOD

Denzel is one of my favorite actors, and yes I know that he has to be in a film where he plays the bad guy, he is unique, and can take a film to the limits of his acting ability; speaking as a former police officer, I sometimes wonder if police offices do hesitate to take brides, especially when it's 3/4 of a million dollars,I guess they have to think about the risk that will be involve.

This is by far one of bogie's great movie pictures, I put it up front ahead of Casablanca and Sierra, Katharine Hepburn was also superb in this movie, the look on Bogie's face after he inavertently hugged and kissed Ms. Hepburn was one of the best parts of the picture, I will always regard this motion picture as one of the greats.

A Bronx Tale (1993)
Great direction
7 June 2004
I feel that Robert de Niro did a great job in directing this motion picture, this picture depicted the very essence of life in the Bronx during the 1960's, it shows the unbias character of a teenager and the love to a black girl, which might not of really happen in those days but could. Robert De Niro also did a superb job of acting in the movie.I will always remember this as one of the great pictures of all time.

When the lady said that the Hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world, was truly a great statement. This picture had me at the edge of my seats many, many times, I do wish that we had pictures like this one made a lot, the actors were superb, especially Ernie Hudson, who played the mentally retarded maintenance man. This picture has all the qualities of being one of the great motion pictures of all times,

Sugar Hill (1993)
EXCELLENT
1 March 2004
Clarance Williams III, Gave one of the best performances by a black character actor I have ever seem, he portrays an elderly junkie in this fast pace and exciting movie. Sugar Hill is a picture that every african american should see, it has all the qualities that make a motion picture excellent, see it, and you will never forget this movie. Wesley Snipes also gave a great part as the head of the herion empire in Harlem, he and his brother started from nothing, and move to become feared by the white society and the mob, what kept them going is there love for each other, it is something that we should always remember between two people, I know that I will never forget the chemistry they had in this movie.

I am a true Mel Brooks fan, and anything that he writes, directs, or produce, I am in favorite of. this was a good movie, not like blazing Salddles, which was one of the best comedies of all time, this movie was good because it had the Mel Brooks favorite casts, Harvey Korman, Don Deluise, Madaline Kaun, one of my favorite parts was when Moses came down from the mountains with the commandments, he had 15, but dropped a slap of commandments, and moses then said, I bring you 10 commandments.

Clint Eastwood is portrayed as a private in this picture, but because of his ability to lead men and command, there most of been some reason he was not an officer (which gave the reason in the movie)in this ready packed, action and funny world war ll movie, Don Rickles was superb as crabgame, Donald Sutherland was great as oddball, and Telly Savalas was fantastic as big joe. The whole picture circulated around robbing a bank behind enemy lines, I guess Don Rickles gave the perfect line in the beginning scenes when he said that this could be the perfect crime.

A must See

When I first saw this movie, it made me a fan of Ed Norton, He is a good actor coming into the movie business, it is one of those pictures that gives you a big surprise at the ending, if you saw the picture, I feel that the character that Mr. Norton played was to smart to have made a stupid mistake of saying something that gave him away, again, it is truly a good movie.

If you want to rate an actor's performance, put him in an act where he plays himself three times. this picture is truly funny with a capital F, I give this picture an 8 out of 10. Michael Keaton really outdid his self this time.

The movie is OK, a typical Whoppi Goldberg movie, with all the one liners, the humor, the good and bad guys bit; everything that goes into a comedy. What I really like about this motion picture is that they had Whoppi Goldberg wearing contact lenses (I think it was blue), I had to take a second look to see what is making Whoppi look so beautiful, I found out it was the contacts.

Set It Off (1996)
Good Movie
27 August 2003
Being a Queen Latifah fan and also Jada Pinkett Smith , this movie was good, not all that great because of the typical sterotype saga of blacks robbing banks. I think one of the best scenes was when they were at work around the big round table portraying and imitating the Godfather, and of course when Queen Latifah met her dome in the hail of bullets after she rode past the bridge.

This was one of the first real movies that I was amaze with, living and growing up in Washington, DC where the space ship landed, and knowing all the streets that were named in the movie, it really was something. I remember my brothers Bernard, Alvin, Leroy, and Kennedy, and my sister Sandra were glued to the TV when we first saw it, as a matter of fact, where Mr. Carpenter lived at 1412 Harvard St. NW was a couple of blocks from where we lived at 1028 Kenyon St. NW. He did not really stay there, but the house where the smartest man in the world lived at 1609 16th St. NW is still there today,(it is the house where young Billy Gray and Michael Rennie went, to talk to Professor Barnhardt). I went there myself and it looked the same as in the movie.

This is one of the greatest westerns ever filmed. The characters were superb, the music was fantastic, the background sceens were breathless. This film had you from the beginning when the train was coming and the three men waiting, the shooting at McBain's house, to the end when Bronson and Fonda had their standoff. Claudia Cardinale was also great with her beauty and saultry look. I always love looking at this picture from the beginning to the end, If you have never seem this movie then you are in for a treat.

I have been a John Malkovish fan for some time and I just love him in Places in the Heart, also Sally Field and Danny Glover gave memorable performances, every time I look at this film and when It gets to the ending, it baffels the heck out of me, I just cannot get the meaning of it, the only thing that I can think of is that, we should get a good feeling and cry knowing that the two men who died at the start of the film are in heaven now.

I throught Platoon, The Green Beret, and Full Metal Jacket were good movies about Viet Nam, but after I saw casualties of war, those movies do not even come close. This movie brought out the true events that really accured in South East Asia, I throught that the vietnamease girl that was took from her village, rape and murdered did an exceptional acting performance, I was also truly glad that the girl on the bus at the end of the movie were the same vietnamease girl.

I saw this movie in High School, at that time I thought he was the bloodiest movie I have ever saw, I loved it, the acting, the shooting and everything. Now as I look back on it, I still think it is a good movie with suberb acting.

Fantastic

This is by far one of Bette Davis's greatest performances, she is to me one of the best actress of all time. She put everything into this movie like she always do in all of her other movies, I expecially liked the way she was manipulating Henry Fonda and George Brent, there is no other actor who could of portrayed the roles the way she did.

One of the Best

This is by far one of the best Mystery movies there is, I just loved this movie. the stars were incredible, just to name a few, Lauren Becall was fantastic as the loud, sarcastic and funny widow. Albert Finney whom I felt had to much make up on was very amusing in investigating each person on the train. Martin Balsam who thought everyone did it at one point of time was also funny and amusing.Ingrid Bergman whom I did not recognize right off, did a splendid performance as the African Missionary. I am very glad that this movie still exist and is not in the preservation vault.
