There’s something to be said about the resilience of Renée Zellweger. After a 6 year absence, it’s fitting that she returns to mainstream audiences in the comfortable albeit accident-prone shoes of Bridget Jones. She feels right at home here, and I must say, it’s nice to have her back. Bridget Jones’s Baby finds our modern woman at 43, single and wrestling with the notion that (save for her “ideal weight” and producing gig on an international news station) certain prospects in her life are further behind than ahead.
However, none of this initially phases her, and she readily owns it, consistently remarking how great she looks and feels. One can’t help but see Zellweger coming through, given her recent change in appearance two years ago, and the overblown, unnecessary scrutiny that followed. She channels this grit and determination into Jones never more so than in the film’s first act,...

Has Ed Sheeran tied the knot? If you ask the Internet, the answer is ... maybe? The "Thinking Out Loud" singer got fans buzzing after a pal posted a shot of Sheeran wearing a silver band on that finger. Musician Jovel posted a candid shot of himself sitting on the ground next to his daughter, who was celebrating her fifth birthday. On the other side of the girl is Sheeran, who is casually resting his left hand on his leg. "My baby girls 5th birthday part was lit! Even both godparents were in attendance finally lol" he captioned the shot, which...

One of the great mysteries of American Idol‘s farewell season is its failure to snag Red Bull as a sponsor for its semifinal rounds.
There’s been a “blinked? you missed it!” Usain Bolt-ish pacing to these telecasts, in which a dozen performances and 36 individual critiques — plus some pithy “meet the contestants!” packages — get crammed into approximately 42 minutes of airtime.

Ed Sheeran's night at the 2016 Grammy Awards is already off to a great start. The British crooner was just awarded his first Grammy ever for his song "Thinking Out Loud," taking home the trophy for Best Pop Solo Performance. Sheeran beat out the likes of Ellie Goulding, Kelly Clarkson, The Weeknd, and good friend Taylor Swift. The win wasn't a part of the main telecast, taking place instead during the pre-show awards ceremony. Sheeran's win was revealed to the world via the Grammys Twitter account, with a screenshot from the live stream of the singer holding his trophy. "Congratulations to Ed Sheeran for his first Grammy win on GrammyLive," they wrote. One famous fan...

Fresh off giving Chris Martin a ride to the Super Bowl, James Corden was back behind the wheel to chauffeur Elton John around Los Angeles in the latest installment of "Carpool Karaoke." Like previous segments, the ride was a mix of funny anecdotes and sing-alongs, with "Your Song," "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" and "Tiny Dancer" among the tracks the pair duet on.
Discussing why he wore such flamboyant stage outfits over the course of his career, John explained, "I was never a lead vocalist. Not like Bowie or Jagger.

He’s ready for the release of his comeback album Purpose, and Justin Bieber just gave his fans two more reasons to look forward to Friday.
The “One Less Lonely Girl” singer rolled out “Love Yourself,” a song co-written by Ed Sheeran, as well as “The Feeling,” a duet with Halsey earlier today (November 9) and they’re both winners in our book.
Bieber called in to Beats 1 and chatted with host Zane Lowe about his new record, hitting stores November 13th, and given that the previous three songs (“I’ll Show You,” “What Do You Mean?” and “Sorry”) all had music videos, it stands to reason Justin will release treatments for the two new ditties as well. Have a listen!

She's back! Monica Michael was snapped in rehearsals for The X Factor yesterday after becoming the show's Wildcard this series.
Michael - who was originally sent home after Judges' Houses - was seen performing her rendition of Ed Sheeran's 'Make It Rain'. Oh, and she had time for a hug with mentor Rita Ora, too.
Rita was really dishing out the hugs, as she was also spotted embracing Louisa Johnson - who'll take on 'God Only Knows' as part of this weekend's 'This Is Me' theme.
Elsewhere, she could be seen giving Kiera Weathers a pep talk ahead of her performance of Katy B's 'Crying For No Reason'.
But there was also time for a giggle and some dance practice with Lauren Murray, whose dream of performing a Whitney track on the show will become reality this weekend when she tackles the legend's version of 'I'm Every Woman'.

How sweet is this? When a childhood friend of Ed Sheeran's was having trouble paying her mortgage, the singer invited her to contribute to his album. Mirror reports that pal Amy Wadge was able to tend to her financial problems after the duo wrote "Thinking Out Loud" together. If you've been living under a rock, the song is pretty stinkin' popular, meaning Sheeran really did his pal a favor there. Mirror writes the song has been streamed over half a billion times on Spotify and went platinum a whopping three times. Have you checked out his YouTube page? The video for their song has well over 700 million views! One million of those views were probably us Tbh, so...

Red carpets might be run-of-the-mill for Jackie Evancho since the 15-year-old vocal wonder placed second on America's Got Talent five years ago. But when she stepped out to perform at the Global Lyme Alliance's inaugural gala in New York Thursday, the whole night was full of firsts for the person by her side, her sister Juliet.
First fancy gala, first time posing on a red carpet – and first time sharing with the world that she is transgender.
"I was so nervous, I was excited – so many emotions. I couldn't sleep last night," Juliet, 17, says of preparing for her public coming out.

Curios and documentaries outshone the glut of middling biopics and fact-based films brazenly touting for awards
For fans of whippet-thin Brits of a certain age, this year’s Toronto film festival afforded some real rock star moments. One involved an actual rock star: Keith Richards, subject of a new documentary and recipient of the longest queue for a press conference. That he had nothing newsworthy to say (likes Ed Sheeran; doesn’t like rap: “I prefer Mary Had a Little Lamb without a bad drum beat”) wasn’t a problem. Just a few wheezy cackles, a flash of his lemon snakeskin blazer, and everyone was happy.
The previous evening, Jeremy Irons, who has two movies playing, was interviewed by Tina Brown at a supper in front of an audience pulsing with lust. Irons is 67. Richards 71. The other toasts of this year’s Tiff were a touch younger, more American: Michael Moore...

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards kicked off in Los Angeles Sunday night, with Ms. Miley Cyrus on hand to host the wild festivities.
Miley didn't disappoint when it came to her always-entertaining brand of enthusiasm and her fashion picks -- the pop star rocked a variety of barely there ensembles, including a see-through number that had what appeared to be balloons pinned to it. Oh, and she also announced that she just dropped a free album. Surprise!
One of the other biggest moments of the night was when Nicki Minaj shocked the audience by opening the show with a special guest: Taylor Swift. The formerly twitter-feuding superstars appeared to bury their public bad blood with a duet. Good one!
Speaking of Tay, the "Blank Space" singer was the most nominated performer of the evening -- she was up for 10 moon men and ended up picking up Video of the Year.

It’s no secret that she’s had her heart stomped on several times by ex-fiancé Lewis Hamilton and it seems Nicole Scherzinger has finally moved on- with a crimson-haired British singer/songwriter.
According to several sources, the former Pussycat Dolls dame is “in the early stages of dating” Ed Sheeran, and things are going quite well.
One insider told press, “As far as he’s concerned they were in the early stages of dating and he’s been open about it with close friends and colleagues. When she split from Lewis, she was heartbroken but ended up playing Ed’s songs on a loop. They're extremely close. Nicole says he is the male version of her.”...

Night One of The Voice's two-night finale featured original songs from each of the finalists, for the first time in the show's history. Nashville soul singer Meghan Linsey and Michigan folk rocker Joshua Davis each premiered self-penned numbers, while the two teenage contestants showcased tunes by a pair of well-known Grammy winners: Ray Lamontagne and Voice coach Pharrell Williams.

Activision may be gearing up for a grand reveal at E3 next month, but that doesn’t mean the studio can’t grant backstage passes to budding Guitar Hero Live fans in order to tease some details ahead of time.
Part and parcel of the series’ lucrative success a generation ago was the songs featured on the set list, and developer FreeStyleGames – creative minds behind 2009’s spinoff DJ Hero – is ensuring that Live‘s soundtrack is just as memorable, with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Fall Out Boy and Rage Against The Machine toplining the game’s early set list.
That said, the music scene isn’t what it was a decade ago when the franchise first debuted, and Guitar Hero Live will reflect the new tones and tastes of 2015, all the while retaining some old school classics for good measure.
