Sneak Peek outtakes from "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off "The Originals", airing on The CW since October 3, 2013, following 'vampire'/'werewolf' hybrid 'Klaus Mikaelson' and his family, as they become embroiled in the supernatural politics of New Orleans:
"...focus is on the 'Mikaelson' siblings, 'Klaus' (Joseph Morgan), 'Elijah' (Daniel Gillies) and 'Rebekah' (Claire Holt), as they return to the city of New Orleans for the first time since 1919.
"Having originally built the city, they had been forced to flee from their vengeful father. In their absence, Klaus's protégé, 'Marcel' (Charles Michael Davis), took charge of the city.
"Klaus resolves they must take down Marcel and get back the city that once belonged to them, while protecting their city from a war brewing between vampires, werewolves and witches.

When I saw Moonlight, the first thing I said as the lights came up was “school sucks.” And it does.
I think this will be spoiler-free, but if you haven’t seen this magnificent movie, I hope you go as soon as you can. Like the best art, it showed me a new way of seeing the world and made me feel emotions that bound me to the characters. Although this is in no way real, for the two hours of that film, I was a self-loathing gay black man, unable to express my personal truth.
My life is privileged, however, and part of that privilege is comics.
Chiron, the boy/teenager/man who is the main character in the film, is not very articulate. This isn’t an unusual trait in a child. We all struggle to learn how to use our words. Unfortunately for him, none of the...

Take a look @ 'gag reel' blooper footage from "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off "The Originals", as vampire 'Klaus Mikaelson' and his family become embroiled in the supernatural politics of New Orleans:

Howdy wrestling fans, and a big thanks to Aaron Oster and James Montgomery for tending to the homestead while I was off for last week's Raw and Payback spectacles. And I have no idea why I'm aping cowboy parlance, or if that's even appropriate while recapping a show that went down in Omaha. But in the interest of corralling my thoughts, let's look toward Extreme Rules.

On a night when WWE was going head-to-head with Monday Night Football and the Mlb postseason, you figured they'd put together a can't-miss broadcast. Alas, that's less likely to happen when Steph and Triple H run into turbulence and leave their show in the hands of the "World's Greatest Director of Operations," Corporate Kane. (Hey, like Roman Reigns said, "This is real life," right?)
So instead, we got lumberjacks loitering, Divas dissing and Dolph Ziggler channeling Chase Utley and fighting dirty against John Cena. But in the end, was there really much of anything?...

The easy pops for the Patriots and the cheap shots toward the Red Sox meant only one thing: WWE was back in Boston on Monday night.
In addition to the requisite hometown heat, the Massachusetts masses also got an eyeful of a returning Brock Lesnar, in addition to robust appearances from Boston's Sasha Banks and New England's most divisive son, John Cena. Mostly though, there was a lot of drama surrounding Kane's split personality, in addition to a big night for the New Day that suggested the company finally...

To quote the signature opening of Bill Maher's monologue, I know why you're excited. It's because this recap marks one year since we started offering our weekly take on pro wrestling's premiere episodic series. Unless I'm mistaken, and you simply can't curb your enthusiasm for the glorified Msg house show that's airing live on the WWE Network this coming Saturday. In which case, all I can say is: weirdo.

Hear ye, hear ye, we are gathered in this fine online forum to discuss the matters of the day as they pertain to last night's USA broadcast of sports entertainment. There will be several items on the agenda, including: a demon with the propensity for hiding underneath rings; a frustrated Diva who feels entitled to things; and a Bray Wyatt disciple who, to loosely paraphrase Johnny Cash, killed a snake in swampland just to drink its blood.
But we know what most of you were really thinking: Where's the Miz?...

Here's the good news heading into Sunday's Night of Champions: All the belts are officially on the line, now that Ryback vs. Kevin Owens for the Ic strap was made official, New Day vs. The Dudley Boyz was cemented with the former's win over Ptp and Nikki Bella's been saddled with a rematch against Charlotte for the Divas crown.
Less encouraging is that the go-home show did little to intensify most of the current beefs, nor drum up much more intrigue for matches without any hardware at stake.

Ah, Tampa, haven for aging wrestlers (anyone seen the Nasty Boys?) and birthplace of Aaron Carter. But isn't there another celebrity born and raised in the Tampa area who invariably came to mind during last night's broadcast? A celebrity who, as of a few months ago, was an untouchable icon in sports entertainment, but as of this week, was on Good Morning America defending himself against perceptions of unvarnished racism and reconciling his severed ties with WWE?
I'm sure it'll come to me.

What a SummerSlam! Oh, wait, that was on Sunday. Well, last night sure felt like the real prestige affair, as there were debuts, returns and celebrity cameos galore.
Not necessarily a ton in the way of wrestling, of course, unless you were among those who enjoyed the broadcast's sidebar into house-show territory with that inconsequential eight-man tag toward the end. But I digress. In fact, I'll go one better, skip the formalities and segue straight into the five key things (in addition to the usual Twitter-friendly sidebar observations) that I...

"Go-home show" had more than one meaning in Minneapolis. Not only was it the final Monday night before SummerSlam (in case that failed to register amid Triple H and Stephanie's lengthy opening address), it was also Brock Lesnar's chance to bask in the adulation of his adopted home state. Side effect: The Undertaker got pooped all over, as did the Divas and anyone else in the final few segments who wasn't Brock Lesnar.
But hey, let's not dwell on the more controversial aspects of a fine show.

Let freedom ring! After months of anticipation, carefully seeded #GiveDivasAChance memes and arbitrary merry-go-rounds of contenders for Nikki Bella's title, the revolution was finally televised. All hail WWE, as the glass ceiling has at last been lifted! Ok, it wasn't quite that groundbreaking, but the introduction of Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte to the main roster (we assume) was a nice kick in the knickers. A belated konnichiwa to you all a few days removed from WWE barnstorming Tokyo for its Beast in the East special. Jet lag and all, the intrepid performers who made their way around the world this past week were back at it last night in Chicago, notably John Cena, who closed out East but had enough left in the tank for an epic Monday main-event rematch against Cesaro.

As much of the roster rallied for WWE's big trip to Singapore and Japan, there was ample room on last night's card for matches to run well past the five-minute mark. Hell, even Paige and Alicia Fox had an opportunity to showcase more than a pair of moves each before the former beat the Bellas' new Bff and scurried to safety.
And with Brock Lesnar among those en route to Asia, it meant Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns would finally get a chance to move their rivalry front and center.

Whether it's 3Mb (R.I.P.) hitting Bourbon Street to bring the rock or Dean Ambrose taking Seth Rollins' Heavyweight Championship belt on an Instagram tour of the French Quarter, WWE loves to make New Orleans a character in its own right when descending upon the Crescent City. In fact, they may as well have entered New Orleans as a final participant in Sunday's Money in the Bank ladder match, since it's already a fairly unwieldy affair.
But then, all that would have taken away from the surprise of Kofi Kingston not winning.

WrestleMania 31 has come and gone. Against all the odds (and audience apathy) WWE put on one hell of a show on March 29th.
Very few people expected Reigns versus Lesnar to be the spectacle that it ended up being. Even fewer though that we’d get to see the nWo and Dx collide, fourteen years after the Monday Night Wars officially ended. And who will ever forget Randy Orton’s spectacular Rko on Seth Rollins?
There were a lot more highs than lows at ‘Mania, but in the days after the event it’s hard not to think about what WWE does now and where it goes from here. The big stars, like The Rock, Sting, Lesnar, Triple H and The Undertaker, will not feature wrestle or even feature on WWE TV for some time. There's nothing like a night in the great city of New Orleans to buoy a wrestling fan's spirits. Unfortunately, like most of you, I was at home, many hundreds of miles from the nation's home of all things jazz and jocular. Fortunately, WWE's King of Swing and dozens of other superstars were on hand at the regrettably named Smoothie King Center (especially unforgiveable in the city of Hurricane slushies) to make sweet, scripted in-ring music.
So without any further needless editorial improvisation, here are the five things I took...

With the coming of a new ice age, mankind finds itself struggling to survive against mother nature. Humanity has grown to take modern medicine for granted, but now that society has been reduced to the most minimal remnants of what we once knew, the common cold and the flu has become our worst enemy, but what could be worse that microscopic killers?
In The Colony, writer and director Jeff Renfroe takes us into the weary lives of the few survivors living underground from the harsh icy wasteland that was once the surface of the Earth. Renfroe, who recently directed a stint of episodes for TV’s Being Human, seems to have an all access pass into the minds of characters forced to endure abnormally stressful circumstances of life.

Surely everyone who enjoys Bollywood at their leisure has at one point fantasized about being a star in one of the biggest film industries in the world. Well for those who want to turn their fantasy into a reality; take a look at what filmmaker Karan Johar recommends in his 8 top tips on becoming a Bollywood star.
One of the first things which Karan recommends is for an aspiring star to have that passion for Hindi cinema. “You have to love everything about it — the song and dance, the hero, the typical hero-wali entry or the heroine’s nakhra,” says Karan. “You have to love all these things which stand for mainstream Hindi cinema. Whoever has done well in our industry in the past has had tremendous affection for these elements.”
Karan also believes that hard work and honesty is crucial in order to flourish within the Indian film industry.

Review Caroline Preece 28 Apr 2013 - 17:20
This week's episode of The Vampire Diaries proves just what a good idea The Originals spin-off really is. Here's Caroline's review...
This review contains spoilers.
4.20 The Originals
We’ve all been nervously awaiting the appearance of this backdoor pilot episode for The Originals aka The Adventures of Klaus the Lonely Snowflake, and here it is. Taking a moment away from the tedious and troubling goings on back in Mystic Falls, we spend an hour in New Orleans with Klaus and Elijah (with Rebekah to join them soon), and it was pretty darn good. The Originals borrowed a few problems from its parent show but, by and large, this was a darker, more adult take on the world the exec producer Julie Plec and co. have already spent four years building.
I’m going to ignore the unnecessary bookends, which I thought took away some...
