Julia Louis-Dreyfus Gets Roasted, Burns Back at Mark Twain Prize Ceremony

Julia Louis-Dreyfus Gets Roasted, Burns Back at Mark Twain Prize Ceremony
Julia Louis-Dreyfus became just the sixth woman in a 20-year history to receive the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday, following in the footsteps of Tina Fey, Carol Burnett and Ellen DeGeneres.

The “Seinfeld” and “Veep” star accepted the award with style, delivering some sick burns at the expense of all the prior honorees.

“Tina was honored with the Mark Twain Prize, too. You know, before they got real serious about [it],” Louis-Dreyfus said during a ceremony at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in New York City.

Fey, who won the prize in 2011, applauded Louis-Dreyfus for being a performer who in “Seinfeld” didn’t feel the need to show a bare midriff in order to get attention.

“Julia’s not afraid to be unlikable — not onscreen and not in person. Just try sharing an elevator with her,

This Theory About What Really Happened to Dumbledore's Sister Will Make Your Head Spin

As one of the Harry Potter series' most important characters, Albus Dumbledore's early life was fraught with tragedy. Over the course of just a handful of years, his sister was attacked, his father was sent to prison, and his mother was killed in an accidental explosion caused by his sister Ariana. And then Ariana died in the crossfire of a duel between Albus, his brother (Aberforth), and Albus's then-best friend, Gellert Grindelwald.

The real truth of the events that transpired is still widely debated, but one question that's never been answered is a pretty major one: who actually killed Ariana Dumbledore?

It's Time to Answer Hill House's Biggest Mystery: What's Behind That Red Door?
Warning: Big spoilers for The Haunting of Hill House ahead!

I could sit here and type out praise for Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House all day long. The horror series effectively delivers genuine scare after scare while also serving up a gut-wrenching story of grief, love, and the lengths we'll go to protect our family. Oh, and it also unpacks a handful of compelling mysteries over the course of its 10 episodes that will gnaw away at you until you reach the final few scenes. One of the biggest among them is: what's behind that freakin' red door? Before I get to that, though, let's back up a second and review.

Um, Gerald's Game Is Super F*cked Up, and You Need to Watch It Right Now

  • Popsugar
Note: this review is (relatively) spoiler-free, so dig in!

At the end of September 2017, Netflix released an original film called Gerald's Game, based on Stephen King's 1992 novel of the same name. The adaptation promised a pretty straightforward plot: Man and woman go to woods to save their marriage. Man handcuffs woman to bed for kinky sex times. Man dies of heart attack. Madness ensues. You might be asking yourself how a woman chained to a bed makes for a compelling horror movie, but I'm hoping I can adequately peel back the layers and show you that the movie goes way beyond that seemingly basic premise.

Whoops! An American Breaks Royal Protocol by Giving Prince Harry the Biggest Bear Hug
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle set sail at Sydney Harbour on the first day of the Invictus Games on Sunday, and those who joined them were certainly happy to be in royal company. While they were on a boat and talking with a few of the sailors, it was clear one American mariner was especially excited to be in the same watercraft as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. In a video posted by Kensington Palace, the sailor couldn't hold back his eagerness and gave Prince Harry a strong hug that even lifted the prince off the ground.

Technically, people aren't supposed to do that to, ya know, British royalty, but Harry and Meghan didn't seem to mind. Meghan was even cracking up, saying, "Now That's a hug. Nicely done!" Even Prince Harry found the whole thing comical, but he did warn the man not to hug Meghan the same
