The hit ABC singing competition is reportedly negotiating a deal with Season 4 champ Carrie Underwood to replace pop singer Katy Perry on the judges’ panel. Perry announced her departure from the show while appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in February. She was an integral part of the show’s successful transition to ABC and earned an estimated $25 million per season.

Will Moseley is one of the Top 7 contestants on American Idol this season, but PETA wants him out of the competition.
The animal rights organization is speaking out amid the discovery that Will has hunted hogs in the past.
An old video that Will posted on social media shows him hunting hogs with the help of four hunting dogs, who hurt the helpless animal. The singer also seen in several photos where he’s posing with dead wild hogs.
While hog hunting is legal in Will‘s home state of Georgia, PETA is lashing out.
Keep reading to find out more…
“Anyone who encourages dogs to rip apart other animals should be in jail for cruelty to animals, not on a stage. Unless Will Moseley has changed and gained some much-needed compassion since his boar-killing days, PETA urges the public to vote according to their values and end his American Idol dream,...

The Monday, April 22 live episode of “American Idol” Season 22 proved to be the end of the road for two fan-fave singers: Jayna Elise and Roman Collins. They were the only artists in the Top 12 that failed to earn enough votes from viewers to make it into next week’s all-important Top 10. Host Ryan Seacrest delivered the unfortunate news in front of judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. The guest mentor for “Billboard #1 Hits” night was Meghan Trainor.
Throughout the competition, Jayna sang tunes like “The Climb” (Auditions round), “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” (Showstopper round), “Confident” (Top 24 round), “My All”, “All I Wanted”, “I Have Nothing” (Top 14 round) and “Diamonds” (Top 12 round). The 22-year-old performer from Washington, D.C. actually began her journey last year on “Idol,” but was eliminated prior to the Season 21 live shows. The good news is that she made it much further this time around.

The judges had their work cut out for them on Sunday’s American Idol, which kicked off Hollywood Week with the introduction of the “Idol Arena,” and ended with the biggest round of cuts in the franchise’s 22-season history.
Also referred to as the “gladiator’s pit” by Lionel Richie, the Idol Arena was essentially an enormous stage where each singer would perform at random, surrounded on all sides by their competitive peers. 143 singers have made it to Hollywood this season, but only 56 would remain at the end of the two-hour broadcast. For the mathematically challenged, that meant 87 hopefuls would have to be cut.
