On the day of the funeral, Sandra finds a mysterious truck parked in her driveway that belongs to hunters looking to hunt on her property. Sandra is soon drawn into a battle of escalating wills in the Western-set thriller.

Nobody in the Montana Territory circa 1881 watches a former slave like Cicero (Isaiah Mustafa) walk into town without keen interest. That goes for friends and foes alike. Luckily for him, Yellowstone City is a progressive settlement in many ways. It has its fair share of racists and bigots to be sure, but you can’t help feeling heartened as far as seeing a saloon owned by a gay couple (Richard Dreyfuss’ Edgar and John Ales’ Mickey) who act as fathers to wayward souls like the young Dakota native working the stables (Tanaya Beatty’s Violet) or the Latina den mother of their brothel (Aimee Garcia’s Isabel). If anyone is willing to open their doors to Cicero, these are the folks. But they’re not the only ones drinking today.
Director Richard Gray and screenwriter Eric Belgau’s Murder at Yellowstone City takes pains to ensure everyone is at attention this Sunday.

The first tip-off is the title: “Murder at Yellowstone City” is not your standard-issue shoot-’em-up. Rather, director Richard Gray’s well-crafted and handsomely mounted indie is as much a solidly constructed mystery as it is it a conventionally satisfying oater, with much to recommend to fans of either genre who rarely get to sample such a mix. Indeed, outside of Henry Hathaway’s “Five Card Stud” (1968) and the lamentably short-lived 2003 TV series “Peacemakers,” it’s hard to recall many other scenarios that suggest what might have resulted had Zane Grey and Agatha Christie bellied up to the bar and swapped ideas.

Viggo Mortensen is Saul, part of a performance artist team with Caprice (Léa Seydoux). In the future, feeling the pain sense has been eliminated and there are those with Accelerated Evolution Syndrome that can actually grow new organs … which Caprice removes from Saul as part of their act. This cutting has replaced sex as the ultimate feeling, and there is actually a National Organ Registry, run in part by Timlin (Kristen Stewart), to monitor new developments. The performance duo looks to their ultimate show … the autopsy of newly evolved-but-deceased eight year old boy.

Take a look at more new footage from writer, director David Cronenberg's latest feature, "Crimes of the Future" opening May 25, 2022:
"...in a not-so-distant future, when humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings, their biological makeup has changed, with many humans having adapted to life with 'Accelerated Evolution Syndrome' thanks to specialized equipment that aids in everything from eating to sleeping.
"Beloved performance artist 'Saul Tenser' sleeps in a womb-like bed suspended in mid-air. The 'OrchidBed', as it’s called, comes complete with software to anticipate and adjust his every bodily need. The machine even detects the growth of new organs, which Saul’s creative partner 'Caprice' can observe and tattoo in his personal operating theater.
"Together, Saul and Caprice ghoulishy turn the discovery and removal of these new body organs into performance art, via sold-out voyeuristic surgical shows using a sarcophagus-like machine where the surgeries take place.

"Let us not be afraid to map the chaos inside." Neon has revealed main official red band trailer for David Cronenberg's new film Crimes of the Future, his latest since making Maps to the Stars in 2014. A deep dive into the not-so-distant future in which humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings. This evolution moves humans beyond their natural state and into a metamorphosis, which alters their biological makeup. An investigator from the National Organ Registry tracks the two main characters. This must be related to Cronenberg's very first feature film also titled Crimes of the Future from 1970. This is culmination of all of his years of making body horror films and experimenting with the human body - this looks gnarly. The horror film stars Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, and Kristen Stewart, with Scott Speedman and Tanaya Beatty. The film is premiering at the 2022 Cannes Festival playing...

David Cronenberg, the master of body horror and discomfiting cinema, is back for the first time in eight years with “Crimes of the Future.” The film, a typical Cronenbergian offering that combines science-fiction with the director’s unique point-of-view, is set to debut at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in May before it bows theatrically via Neon in June. To celebrate the news, Neon released a new trailer for “Crimes of the Future” on Thursday.

Whether diehard fans of Yellowstone choose to admit it or not, we are closer to the last episode of the show than we are the first. A shocking revelation to those who don’t wish for Paramount’s Golden Goose in Cowboy boots to end, but creator Taylor Sheridan has explicitly expressed he knows how the new-age cowboy-opera is likely to culminate. Paramount has not announced how many more episodes are to come after this year’s upcoming fifth season, but the end is nigh. With some major loose threads needing to be tied up, and some even larger continuing story threads laid throughout the first four seasons, here are five theories on what the end of Yellowstone might look like.
Jail Time
This could be the best case scenario for the family. Yes, that is a bleak outlook right off the bat, but rest assured, one of Taylor Sheridan...

With filming having wrapped in Greece on Crimes of the Future––his sci-fi drama starring Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Viggo Mortensen, Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar, Lihi Kornowski, Tanaya Beatty, Nadia Litz, and Yorgos Karamichos––the director is now in the editing room and new plot details have arrived. While the film borrows the name from his early 1970s feature, the story is completely different, featuring a script Cronenberg wrote two decades.
“It’s set in a world where people have evolved to a point where we don’t feel physical pain,” Stewart tells Screen Daily. “Sex has changed quite a bit, and the new art form is growing organs. Viggo [Mortensen] is a famous performance artist. Léa Seydoux is his partner who tattoos these organs and displays them. My character becomes enamoured with Viggo’s artist.

As we speak, a new David Cronenberg film is in production, marking the Canadian master’s long-awaited return after 2014’s Maps to the Stars. Crimes of the Future, starring Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Viggo Mortensen, Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar, Lihi Kornowski, Tanaya Beatty, Nadia Litz, and Yorgos Karamichos, borrows the name from his early 1970 feature but with a new plot. Now, thanks to a snap from the Greece set, the first look of Seydoux has arrived.
“As we begin filming Crimes Of The Future, just two days into this new adventure with David Cronenberg, it feels like we’ve entered a story he collaborated on with Samuel Beckett and William Burroughs, if that were possible,” said Mortensen. “We are being pulled into a world that is not quite like this or any other, and yet is one that feels strangely familiar, immediate and quite credible. I can’t...

Filming is underway in Europe on David Cronenberg’s Crimes Of The Future, starring Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart and Scott Speedman.
Joining the cast are Tanaya Beatty (Yellowstone), Nadia Litz (Big Muddy), Yorgos Karamichos (The Durrells), and Yorgos Pirpassopoulos (Beckett). Also previously announced were Welket Bungué (Berlin Alexanderplatz), Don McKellar (Blindness), and Lihi Kornowski (Losing Alice).
The film shoots in Athens, Greece until September 2021.
The film takes a deep dive into the not-so-distant future where humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings. The evolution moves humans beyond their natural state and into a metamorphosis, altering their biological makeup. While some embrace the limitless potential of ‘transhumanism’, others attempt to police it. Either way, “Accelerated Evolution Syndrome”, is spreading fast.

Tanaya Beatty, Johnny Depp’s co-star in a short film promoting luxury brand Dior’s fragrance Sauvage, has spoken out about the controversial campaign.
In multiple posts on Instagram, titled “Just Ad Indian,” the “Yellowstone” actor wrote about her own experience as a performer of First Nations descent and of the Native American-themed Dior campaign specifically. Beatty’s character, “the maiden,” is described in marketing collateral as a “suggestive feminine presence, febrile and sensual,” evoking negative stereotypes about Native American women.
Beatty wrote that she was hesitant to take on the role and felt conflicted during filming, “witnessing as a company blatantly disrespected indigenous culture.”
“When we filmed it, I could only hope that it would start the conversation it now has,” the Canadian actor, who is of Da’naxda’xw tribe descent, said.

Future scholars of the Cultural Appropriation Wars of the late 2010s are going to find a lot to talk about with Don McKellar’s “Through Black Spruce,” a film produced by a Cree woman (Tina Keeper) and directed by a white Canadian man that deals explicitly with sexism and Indigenous issues, and is based on a book by novelist Joseph Boyden whose own First Nations identity has recently come under dispute. More casual viewers, however, are going to wonder where all that offscreen drama went, and how it can possibly have translated into such low-blood-sugar lethargy. Ostensibly a First Nations riff on the perennially popular missing-girl genre, “Through Black Spruce” is a disengaged slog that confines its poetry to a title that nonetheless remains appropriate in one key way: The film creaks like it’s made of wood.
The cast, however, appropriately featuring indigenous actors playing the indigenous roles, is not to blame.

The continuously astounding Christian Bale is one of our best film actors, and he's at his peak in Hostiles, a powderkeg of a western, written and directed in a soulful fever by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace, Black Mass). Working from an unpublished manuscript by the late Donald Stewart, the filmmaker echoes The Searchers – John Ford's 1956 classic starring John Wayne as a vengeful cowboy – in tackling the way racism and violence seem to be hardwired into the American character.

The fact that America’s past isn’t without its horrific nightmares of misguided violence and oppression shouldn’t be lost on anyone, especially not with everything that’s going on here today. Our history runs red with the blood of men, women, and children who fought to survive against a force that thought themselves superior because of the color of their skin. White Europeans staked claim upon their arrival, killing the Native Americans with gunfire, alcohol, and disease before chasing them off west. They brought slave ships full of Africans as unpaid laborers, property to be bought and sold. And after the latter won their freedom as a result of the Civil War, the former remained in invisible chains—the discovery of gold in the Black Hills eventually tightening them further.
Scott Cooper’s Hostiles (based on an unrealized manuscript by the late Donald E. Stewart) isn’t about that fight per se.
