Vandalism is in high demand over at Netflix. American Vandal will return for season two...
A new vandal is coming to Netflix, as American Vandal season 2 has been confirmed for 2018. Netflix made the announcement for its documentary parody series via a video that asks: “Can you be above the law?”
Season one followed high schooler Peter Maldonado (played by Tyler Alvarez), a documentarian who chronicles the mystery of whether senior Dylan Maxwell (played by Jimmy Tatro) pulled off a prank in which he vandalized 27 faculty cars with spray-painted penises.
American Vandal will follow an anthology format. The second season will focus on a new group of students at a different school, but Peter will be at the helm of the doc. The series is a play on shows like Netflix's Making A Murderer and the popular podcast Serial.
You can watch the renewal announcement and teaser here:...

Peter Kraus Sounds Off on Arie Luyendyk Jr. Being Named the Next Bachelor: "ABC Made a Great Choice"
Peter Kraus has no hard feelings. Though he was the frontrunner to be the next star of The Bachelor after he became the fan-favorite during Rachel Lindsay's season of The Bachelorette, Bachelor Nation was shocked when Arie Luyendyk Jr., the runner-up from Emily Maynard's season in 2012, was officially named season 22's lead. Philip Winchester will lay down some Chicago Justice to Manhattan later this year, when his character from that cancelled NBC procedural winds up on another: Law & Order: Svu.
Per our sister site Deadline, Winchester will recur on Svu as Peter Stone, the role he originated on Chicago P.D. and then played on its legal-themed spinoff. Stone’s appearance in the Svu-verse makes sense: He’s the son of Benjamin Stone, the Ada on the original Law & Order. Peter will be an Ada in the Big Apple like his dad.

Yesterday during the D23 Expo: Live Action Panel attendees got to see the first trailer for Avengers Infinity War, and boy was it epic. The trailer started off with a montage of all the movies Marvel Studios has produced over the past 10 years leading up to this big moment. By now, for those of you who weren't in attendance have already read a description about the trailer and have an idea what it looked like. For a first release trailer Marvel Studios packed a ton of footage into this reel, and the list below are the five things we learned while watching the trailer.

5. The Cast Is Enormous
You are probably saying that I am an idiot for not already knowing this, but the size of the cast didn't really hit me until I saw a majority of our favorite heroes lined up on stage at one time.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is less than two weeks away from release and the buzz is good! Though the sequel to Homecoming isn't due out until July 2019, you'll still have two chances to see the character Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige calls "the jewel in the crown" before then. Spider-Man will appear, and likely have sizable roles due to his popularity, in next year's Avengers: Infinity War and May 2019's Avengers 4. But what will life look like for Peter Parker following Earth-shattering events the size of Infinity War?
Cinemablend asked Feige how Spider-Man will readjust to a less cosmic lifestyle after fighting threats like Thanos alongside the Avengers. Feige has this to say about what life for Peter will look like after Avengers 4:
"In Infinity War, we'll showcase almost all aspects of the worlds we've established. What is exciting is that after Infinity War, and the untitled Avengers in May of 2019... everything will be very different,...

The release of Spider-Man: Homecoming is drawing near and more and more from the reboot continues to be revealed. This week, two brand new images have been released which feature Tom Holland’s Peter Parker both in and out of his costume as the wall-crawler.
The first photo sees the iconic superhero leaping into action on the ferry we’ve seen in the trailers, something we know will lead to Iron Man having to step in and save the day after it’s broken in half and the youngster finds himself overwhelmed by what looks to be a tricky situation for him. Speaking of Robert Downey Jr.’s mentor-like figure, the second image shows him talking to Peter with Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan watching on in the background, following a few steps behind.

When it comes to big-budget tentpoles like Spider-Man: Homecoming, we often learn a lot about what to expect from them from the licensed action figures attached to them. They often provide insights about things like what a character will look like in the theatrical cut, or give us glimpses at alternate costumes that offer possible crumbs about the plot of the film itself.
Such seems to be the case when it comes to these new figures from Spider-Man: Homecoming. The film, in many ways, is a follow-up to Captain America: Civil War. We know it takes place after the events shown in that film, and yet it looks like we're going to get a glimpse at the costume Peter Parker (Tom Holland) wore before Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) gave him his fancy new duds in Civil War.

Coming to a close this week is Ultimate Spider-Man, which will air its final episode tomorrow, January 7th. Marvel is pulling the plug on the show to instead focus on a new effort. We don’t know too much about it just yet, but the company is planning a new animated series for Disney Xd, and as the teaser above confirms, it’ll arrive in the summer.

While we continue to wait with bated breath for our first look at Marvel and Sony's Spider-Man: Homecoming tonight, some new details on the film have arrived via USA Today. While action and excitment will no doubt compose a large part of the film, star Tom Holland sees Homecoming as less of an action film and "more a character piece about this kid who's struggling to talk to girls and also struggling to save the city." As evidenced in previous interviews, the film will kick off with Peter Parker returning to his normal life in Queens after his major battle in this summer's Captain America: Civil War, a secret the young Peter will struggle with. “He literally just went to Europe with the coolest clique of them all," said co-producer Eric Hauserman Carroll. “And now he’s back with the academic decathlon and the mathletes and going, ‘What am I doing here?...

Whether or not Zendaya is playing Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming remains to be seen, but the actress claims that she won't be a love interest in the reboot from Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. Superhero movies obviously don't have to feature a romantic interest for the titular hero, but they more often than not do, so who will Peter Parker end up asking to the Homecoming dance? Well, according to a new report from Latino-Review, they've heard from sources close to Spider-Man: Homecoming that Peter will actually be interested in Liz Allen, a chracter played by Laura Harrier. This actually follows the classic Stan Lee and Steve Ditko comic books where Peter had a crush on Liz. Unfortunately for him, she was dating Flash Thompson, and by the time she started developing feeling for the wall-crawler, he had started dating Betty Brant. It will be interesting to see...

Welcome to the Marvel movie lull, folks. We’re a bit out from Doctor Strange and it’s the summer, so there’s no television (if you’re into Agents of Shield). There are some things in production or gearing up for production, but there isn’t a ton of stuff out on the wire.
That doesn’t mean that there isn’t interesting stuff to talk about on the Spider-Man front, though! There’s been some casting news on Jon Watt’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and there was a crazy PS4 game teaser released at E3. Also, Wolverine 3 is starting to look like an X-23 story that has an Old Logan, not an Old Man Logan story that has X-23.
The most exciting casting first: It looks like Donald Glover is going to be joining Spider-Man: Homecoming! You have to admire the career path of the guy who was the subject of an internet campaign to be the lead in Amazing Spider-Man being able to keep the momentum going to the point where he has voiced Miles Morales, the black/latin Spider-Man for Disney Xd and now he is going to be in Homecoming!
The thing is we don’t know who he is playing yet, so here we sit in the pool of wild speculation. Over on the deep end of this pool is Miles Morales. It does not make sense for Sony to add Miles Morales to the Spider-Man universe and it does not make sense for Miles to be older than Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is still the same story world that the Avengers exist in, I don’t think throwing in another Spider-Man this soon after the first one makes sense and I don’t think that’s how we want Miles Morales adapted to the screen when he gets there. I still like the rumor that Sony has an animated Spider-Man movie with Miles at the forefront and that one seems much more likely.
To recap: Donald Glover, not playing Miles Morales.
Everyone else, though, is up for grabs. I’ve been reading a lot of speculation online about who Glover could be playing and there are some options I like more than others. Instead of jumping to my wildest idea, I’ll start with the most likely one: Donald Glover is a teacher at Peter’s school. From the little that we do know about Homecoming, it’s going to lean into having such a young Spider-Man and give him the teenage drama that most of his other adaptations have only given occasional glimpses into. Instead of Tobey Maguire’s Parker trying to deliver pizzas, Tom Holland’s Peter will have High School problems.
Now, let’s say Glover is a teacher. That leaves us with two choices if he plays a large part in the film: the teacher is stupid and used for comic relief or the teacher is smart and realizes Peter is special. If it’s the second one, Glover is probably playing a villain. Peter Parker got an equipment upgrade from Tony Stark, so he doesn’t need a secret High School Q or anything. If the teacher is smart and notices Peter, this is where we get to toss in adaptation characters that could fit that adaptation choice: the Prowler, the Tinkerer, Doctor Octopus, The Chameleon, Mysterio, etc.
If Glover’s not a teacher, I want him to be at Peter’s job. If there’s a new J. Jonah Jameson that embodies both the hot-headed nature of the previous film’s version with Ultimate Spider-Man’s Jameson (the one from the Bendis comics), I’d want to see that Donald Glover character.
The other addition to the Homecoming cast is Kenneth Choi, who was in Captain America: The First Avenger as Jim Morita. We know he’s going to be playing the principal of Peter’s Queens high school. Needing a principal for the movie is about all we can glean from that. There’s a few cool ways that could play out, but he’s probably just the authority figure. And, if this movie really does have a Homecoming dance like I not-so-secretly hope it does, he’ll get to put his hands on his hips and look sternly at people who are dancing inappropriately.
Also in the world of Spider-Man, E3 is happening, which means the internet is flooded with gaming news I vaguely understand (wake me up when you have your “Project” done, Microsoft, and there’s a single bundle of Vr peripheries I can buy in one go, Sony). One thing that did make me sit up and take notice was the trailer for this Spider-Man game from Marvel Entertainment and Insomniac Games:
I’m not sure what this game is, but I can tell you I do not like this trailer. It feels like it was directed by someone who doesn’t know how to shoot Spider-Man. Most of the action moments are too close to Spidey and are traditionally animated: as in not gameplay.
There looks like there might be some hints at what the gameplay is going to look like from a few shots - particularly when Spidey uses his webs to throw a metal box at some guys on a roof or when he’s parkour-ing through an office building. Both of those moments feel small. The bigger moments in the trailer, like the train fight and the instances of Spider-Man jumping in the air are all shot in ways where they feel small. Something’s wrong with the physics in this trailer, but not wrong enough that I can tell you what it is.
Certainly the webbing bothers me:

However, this is all just to get us hype for the new PS4 Spider-Man game that will have a completely original story (not one tied into the movies). It doesn't even have a title they want to reveal yet. So What: his costume sucks and he’s only fighting street-level villains in a trailer I can only describe as “What if Arkham City was played in perpetual twilight?”, this is not the final game.
I want to see some gameplay footage. That trailer did not do enough for me.
Finally this week, X-Men: Origins Wolverine 3 (not the actual title) is shooting in New Orleans where set photos captured scenes from the exterior of a casino set. Hugh Jackman is there sporting a beard as is Patrick Stewart (the title Wolverine: Beards would be good, but totally has a double meaning) who is back in a wheelchair as Professor Xavier.
Just Jared, who released the photos, noted that one scene had Wolverine pull up in a bullet-riddled limo, another had Wolverine, Patrick Stewart and Mystery Girl getting into a van and -
Right, I skipped the girl. The Hashtag Show found what they think is a breakdown for a character codenamed “Zoe” for Wolverine 3:
Code Name: Zoe
12-to-15 year-old girl
A pound puppy, raised in captivity in a time of battle, without support systems of a normal childhood.
She has no family and until now, has never left the compound in which she was born.
She has an authentic intensity - Her expressions & body language speak volumes, without words.
Once released in the outside world, everything is new, every experience and every image a first.
This does not mean everything is wonderful or wondrous. Some thing she sees (things we might regard as conventional) may scare her or anger her and things we may find interesting may bore her.
She has not been instructed in many social conventions - she can eat like an animal. She studies and often mimics people's behavior.
She has a high Iq, but is also a temperamental, impulsive and feral creature that can raise genuine mayhem.
She is a girl that has never been kissed. Looking for a real girl - not made up or done up. Also with genuine edge, not made up or put on.
Martial arts or gymnastics experience preferred but not necessary - but actress must be extremely physical and able to improvise scenes without necessarily resorting to speech. Do not play it "cute."
Sounds like a young X-23, doesn’t it?
Like a day after that rumor broke is when Mystery Girl started popping up in set photos. She was in that “fleeing to the van” scene and here she is in another scene entirely where it looks like she’s been shot but is strolling confidently along the street?
Great time to reiterate that no one has said anything about what the plot of this movie actually is. Finding and protecting Mystery Girl through a few different time periods could be cool, but that’s how it would have to go. That girl is a smidge too young to stride into the Female Wolverine role...right?

A video posted by Bryan Singer (@bryanjaysinger) on Jun 13, 2016 at 11:58pm Pdt
Bryan Singer released a little behind the scenes video from Hugh Jackman filming the Weapon X sequence in X-Men: Apocalypse. If you notice, they had actually cut together rough footage or an previz for what they were shooting: the sound effects for the shot are Already in the monitor for playback. Just one of those cool filmmaking things.

[Warning: This story contains spoilers for the series finale of The Good Wife, "End."] "Do I look like I'm breaking down?" Alicia Florrick as a TV character will be dearly missed. Welcome to the superhero franchise, Spider-Man: Homecoming. Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothman confirmed the new movie's title Tuesday while giving a presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The new title is meant to be a reference to the high school event (Peter Parker is a high school student, after all) and also his desire to "find his true identity and where he really belongs in this world." It's also a slight wink at Spidey's return to the Marvel universe. Homecoming's Peter will be played by Tom Holland, who is filling the shoes of both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. When Holland's casting was first announced, the Twitterverse (and Marvel obsessors) were none too pleased with the...

Well, a new Spider-Man is upon us. And coming with him, a new Aunt May. Over the past few years Aunt May has become drastically younger and younger and with the recent casting of Marisa Tomei, I have a feeling that Marvel can go younger. I mean, if Marvel/Sony is going to completely ignore the point of the Aunt May character, we might as well stick with the trend am I right? So here's my idea. Elle Fanning. Yeah, I'm sure you're going "whaaaa?" here. The point is, with Marvel continuing to cast younger actresses for Aunt May, Elle Fanning is the only logical successor in 2023's inevitable reboot. With Marvel completely ignoring Aunt May being the burden to Peter Parker, casting an actress the same age as Peter will completely add a new dimension to the character. Instead of Peter having to worry if Aunt May dies, he...

Sir Peter O'Sullevan has passed away, aged 97.
The BBC horse-racing commentator, dubbed 'the Voice of Racing', died at home in London following a long illness.
During his career, he commentated on 50 Grand Nationals and a massive 14,000 races in total before retiring in 1997.

"Big races brought big stories and the 'Voice of Racing' knew how to deliver."
He added: "Even through illness, he was bright, funny and dignified. The ultimate gentleman, who will be deeply missed."

It's the eve of Parenthood's last season - a fact Monica Potter, who plays Kristina Braverman, still hasn't quite accepted. The cast and crew were just about a week into shooting the final episodes of the NBC drama when I stopped by the set. Monica took a seat next to me on the couch in the Bravermans' house after wrapping a scene, settling in as comfortably as she might in her own living room. "I have hope that we'll come back next year," the actor says. "And I'm the only ding-dong walking around saying that. I just . . . I don't know." It's not hard to understand why Monica feels a little reluctant to let go. After more than four years as Kristina, she's seen her character through her teen daughter's coming out, a run for mayor, and even breast cancer; that storyline eerily corresponded to Monica's own irregular mammogram in...

Back when The Amazing Spider-Man was still in development, one of the biggest names tossed around for the part of Peter Parker was Community actor Donald Glover. Glover himself campaigned hard for the role, but his race was an issue with some people and he was never seriously considered for it. As we know, the role of Spider-Man ultimately went to Andrew Garfield, who has done a pretty good job in an otherwise contentious franchise reboot.
The desire to see Glover suit up as Spidey never died down though, especially when the actor showed up in Spider-Man pajamas on Community. Fan reactions were so strong that they caught the attention of comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli, who were inspired by Glover’s campaign and created a new Spider-Man, the half-black half-Latino Miles Morales who first appeared in Ultimate Spider-Man.

Doctor Who could be getting just a pinch of Malcom Tucker’s manners, according to Steven Moffat..
As we’ve already mentioned, the new issue of SFX has a Doctor Who feel to it, thanks to some interesting interviews it's put together. One of them is with Steven Moffat, and in it, he's been hinting that Peter Capaldi’s Doctor will have a touch of Malcom Tucker-esque dark humour to him
"He has a tremendous ability with throwaway humour, and a lot of it is around the fact that sometimes he is terribly rude,” Moffat intriguingly teased. “I think kids will think he is the rude Doctor. You might want to cuddle him, but he really will resist."
"Peter will be very much the Doctor," Moffat added, in case anyone thinks he really will regenerate into Malcolm Tucker at some stage.

Although Spielberg has done his share of adult-oriented films that cater to the sophisticated masses he is primarily known for his whimsical kid-friendly fare or at least releases that feature children in some of his escapist gems that may not necessarily be considered kiddie-coated. The Mindy Project may be a smart, silly, starry-eyed comedy about an urban gynecologist looking for love, but executive producer Matt Warburton says the Fox series’ second season took major inspiration from AMC’s gritty Rick Grimes and his haggard band of zombie fighters.
When Fox offered Mindy the chance to take a midseason break, the Ep tells TVLine, the team behind Shulman & Associates saw “a tremendous opportunity.”
“The way we thought of it, at least, was the way that The Walking Dead does it, where they split their season into two chunks,” he says. “There’s a natural climax in the middle.

Peter Capaldi will go on a world tour to promote the new series of 'Doctor Who'. When he’s not being Wolverine – which is kind of what he does most of the time – Hugh Jackman is transforming his body and soul for art. Well, maybe not soul and maybe not art, but he has shaved his head for his role as Blackbeard in Joe Wright’s Pan. We have yet to learn why lack of hair is important to Jackman’s character though – perhaps he’s trying to emphasize that villainous beard?
Jackman recently posted a picture of himself sans hair via Instagram, simultaneously showcasing the hirsute adornment that is so important to his part as the villainous pirate captain. Blackbeard is reportedly the major baddie in Joe Wright’s reimagining of the Peter Pan story, with future nasty person Hook (Garrett Hedlund) taking something of a backseat. Given that Jackman has spent most of his career playing good guys, it will be fun to see him exercising his villainous muscles.

This week, Penny Dreadful takes a step back from the main storyline to finally give us what we’ve all been waiting for – a proper explanation of the tangled relationships between Sir Malcolm, Vanessa and Mina (guest star Olivia Llewellyn). Sadly for viewers, that means no further development of the bizarre, romantic web being spun between Dorian, Ethan, Vanessa and Brona – for now. Still, Penny Dreadful doesn’t sag despite turning its focus back in time, which is a credit to John Logan’s writing and the strength of the performances.
On paper, it would be a somewhat risky move for a show as young as Penny Dreadful to drop all of its active plot threads for an entire episode to tell what amounts to an origin story. But then again, “Resurrection” did the same thing (to an admittedly lesser degree) while fleshing out the backstory for Caliban/Frankenstein’s Monster.

A quick review of the "Silicon Valley" season finale coming up just as soon as I pivot from social media to a playground for the sexually monstrous... I wrote my initial review of the show based on the first five episodes, which were unfortunately the only ones to include Christopher Evan Welch before he died. And though it doesn't feel like the Pied Piper vs. Hooli plot changed an enormous amount due to Peter Gregory's absence, the show definitely missed something without his weird energy, especially because Monica is such a non-character. (Though the tech field is overwhelmingly male, I stand by my belief that "Silicon" could stand to do much better with women, whether that's making Monica more interesting or bringing in some new people.) That said, there was still an awful lot to enjoy in the concluding three episodes, and particularly in the finale. This is a crude,...
