Two Door Cinema Club is already working on their next album -- sort of. The Irish indie rock trio tends to get distracted by touring, soccer and The Royal Family. We'll let them explain.

Two things: The delightful soundtrack for Kelly Fremon Craig’s new release “The Edge of Seventeen” does not feature a) The classic Stevie Nicks track from which it borrows its title or b) A song from its star Hailee Steinfeld, who also happens to have her own — very respectable! — pop music career, in addition to her long-running work on the big screen.
But don’t let that stop you from checking out the soundtrack, which is now streaming on Spotify, as it still features a hearty and exciting mix of talents as diverse as Aimee Mann, Two Door Cinema Club, Phantogram and Santigold. Ah, to be young again.

Anticipation for 2017’s major festivals is at an all time high, with Coachella‘s lineup serving as the holy grail of the entire season. We’ve already heard some rumors about the alleged headliners, while DJ Khaled inadvertently spilled the beans on his slot at the festival. Now we have another enticing update to ponder with a list that attempts to predict the entire lineup.
A website called TravelGrom has consistently made predictions about Coachella lineups in the past with a high degree of accuracy compared to the average rumor, and they’ve just offered up their projections for 2017. While the information is just conjecture at this point, TravelGrom predicted last year’s lineup with 64% accuracy. If that figure holds true again, over half of the list will wind up on the official lineup.
The alleged lineup includes a diverse array of styles, with representation from Edm, Rock, Rap, Pop and everything in between.

Lollapalooza has wrapped in Chicago — here are pictures of the most memorable performances. This marks the 25th anniversary of Lollapalooza, which counts Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell among its founders. Among this year’s performers were the Red Hot Chili Peppers, led by Anthony Kiedis. Would you believe the Red Hot Chili Peppers also performed at the second Lollapalooza, in 1992? This year’s lineup included a mix of old and new. The prominent artists also included Major Lazer, Leon Bridges, Two Door Cinema Club, the Band Ghost, Boombox Cartel and Baio. All were photographed by Justin Mauldin. Follow him on Instagram at https://www.

After all these years, deadmau5 has remained one of electronic music’s most sought-after commodities. Releases aside, the Canadian progressive house virtuoso has garnered a reputation as an act not to miss – but just in case you weren’t fortunate enough to catch his set at Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware, we’ve got you covered (that joke never gets old to me).
After starting off his set with an understated piano interlude, deadmau5 whipped the audience into a frenzy with tracks of his own like “Imaginary Friends” as well as those of other artists, such as Sphinx’s “Novar.” While not the most grandiose lighting array ever to accompany the ‘mau5 onstage, Firefly Music Festival’s main stage setup certainly didn’t detract from his set by any means.

Madeon‘s debut album, Adventure, is already complete, and the French wunderkind is starting to tease us with some of the tracks that we’ll be hearing once it drops on March 30th. The latest song to be released is “Pay No Mind,” a fun, upbeat tune that features Passion Pit.
“I’ve been a huge Passion Pit fan for years so they came to mind right away,” said Madeon. “I wanted some extra guitars on the song and reached out to Sam from Two Door Cinema Club (I met them after producing their last single). It’s one of those songs that came together very naturally. I love it because it reflects a lot of my influences, from electronic sounds to 70’s Wurlitzer keyboards.”

Before you finalize that playlist of your new favorite summer jams, make sure to save a spot for Go Wolf. “One More Night” is the latest clip from the dance pop group that hails from Belfast. The video, directed by Gregg Houston, is one that makes you stare wide-eyed, thinking you're seeing something. Then, when the illusion reveals itself, you have to go back and remember what you just watched. It's a clever, psychedelic experience the builds on the lush music underneath the visuals. Go Wolf is certainly in good company with Houston, who got his feet wet working with Two Door Cinema Club and Cast of Cheers, among others. The band also made big waves at least year’s Belfast Music Week. The hometown group came out of the festival with many singing their praises and are now making their official foray into the stateside scene. A big step...

Kendrick Lamar recently scorched his competition with a searing verse on Big Sean's "Control (Hof)," but having the verse of the summer isn't the only accolade the 26-year-old notched this year. According to a new report from Songkick (via NME), the rapper spent more time on festival stages than any other performing artist or band.
The Compton standout topped 46 hours -- or 2760 minutes -- performing at summer festivals, according to data the gig-tracking website studied from hundreds of events. Two Door Cinema Club (41 hours) was in second place, with Of Monsters and Men, Local Natives and Major Lazer rounding out the top five, and perennial favorites Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, The Vaccines and Calvin Harris also notching tallies that were not to be messed with.
As we previously reported, Lamar's "Control" verse was seen as perhaps the distinct hip hop moment of the summer, if not the year:

Maybe you couldn't get a ticket. Maybe you hate camping. Maybe you're too old to do the mud, drugs and dancing in the Shangri-La until 4am. Whatever the reason you're not at Glastonbury this weekend, it doesn't meant that you can't do Glastonbury.
Thanks to the BBC's monstrous coverage, you can watch more on the TV than you could if you were there in your wellies. Turn up the volume, buy some dodgy cider, bring in some mud from the garden and cook yourself a dodgy cheeseburger for dinner and you'll have near enough the Pyramid Stage experience in your living room. Sort of.
Friday
After weeks of build-up, the BBC's TV coverage starts properly tonight with viewers having the choice of BBC Two, Three or Four, depending on your tastes.
The big hitters and highlights from Day One will be on BBC Two at 10pm-10.30pm and 11pm-2am...

This is the stuff that viral video dreams are made of.
Jimmy Kimmel sent his popular "Lie Witness News" segment from "Jimmy Kimmel Live" down to the Coachella Music Festival during its two weekend run and interviewed hipsters as they were on their way in, gauging their excitement on a list of made-up band names. The amount of excitement over The Chelsea Clintons, "straight out of Williamsburg," is incredible. They "give off good energy," one girl claims in the clip, which aired Monday night (April 22).
One guy admits to loving The Obesity Epidemic's "whole style, their whole genre ... They're very innovative and they're new."
Also, Two Door Cinema Club is a real band, but their album "DJ Cornmeal" is definitely not.
To write too much more would spoil the joy of the video. Be sure to watch the clip above.

Bastille are currently Two Door Cinema Club’s support act, so you’d imagine that, like them, their début album Bad Blood would sound like your typical Arcade Fire rip-off that appears to be emerging in certain British indie rock bands.
I was rather surprised.
While you do have those elements, such as the overkill harmonies and the folky plucked acoustics, this album rises above that kind of mediocrity. Frontman Dan Smith’s vocals are lovely, and some of the melodies employed in the chorus vocals and synths (which fit in surprisingly well) are very original indeed. In fact, a lot of the instrumentation is quite clever, how this band manages to fit church-like chorus parts with playful synth pokes is mildly impressive.
