Remember Space Jam: Legacy? You probably don’t. It was an ill-advised sequel to 1996’s commercial trash art classic, Space Jam. In the original film, global icon Michael Jordan is sucked into a cartoon world where he must assemble a team of Looney Tunes to play an intergalactic game of basketball against a squad of goons to save the universe. Legacy saw the same plot revisited, subbing in LeBron James for Mj, except being released in 2021, merely showcasing the Looney Tunes would not suffice.

The history of television is fascinating because you can trace lines between almost any modern show and one of the classics, as crews move from one show to another, bringing their past work and their influences with them. This applies to both live-action and animation. In the latter, many animators who start as writers or storyboard artists in one show end up creating their own series years later, bringing colleagues along with them, who then go on to create their own shows in return. Take "Dexter's Laboratory" launching the career of not just Genndy Tartakovsky, but also Craig McCracken, Rob Renzetti, Butch Hartman, and Seth MacFarlane, each going on to make a popular show.
What "Dexter's Laboratory" did in the '90s, "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack" did in the late 2000s. This is a show that helped launch several animation careers, with plenty of writers and storyboard artists...

To celebrate the upcoming broadcast of My Adventures With Superman's season 2 premiere, Adult Swim and Toonami have released a new clip from the first episode, which sees Superman face off against Amanda Waller, Deathstroke, Atomic Skull, and some Task Force X foot soldiers.
In particular, the video shows the terrible schemes Waller is willing to enact in order to protect the planet from Superman and other possible Kryptonian invaders.
While Waller's actions are definitely inexcusable, they might ultimately prove to be necessary as the season 1 finale hints that Spoiler: [General Zod] will soon return in season 2 to attack the Earth.
Are you excited for season 2 of My Adventures with Superman? Let us know in the comment section below.
Season 2 will be the big test for the show, as it was initially greenlit with a two-season order. Although a second season was always planned, a third season is probably not in...

Christopher Walken has a small but highly memorable role in "Dune: Part Two," stealing scenes as Shaddam IV, the Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe. You might not have realized this, but Walken's appearance in "Dune: Part Two" marks his first time on the big screen in four years (he appeared on the small screen via Apple TV+'s "Severance"). It wasn't that Walken was retired, he just was suddenly not working in movies. There was a period where it felt like Walken was popping up nearly everywhere, be it in Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice" music video (which has a "Dune" connection Walken recently admitted he didn't even know about), or his frequent appearances on "Saturday Night Live." But then, suddenly, Walken was gone from films.
But now he's back, and thank heavens for that. Walken is 80 years old, which means he might not want to take on too many more movie roles.

Dune: Part Two marks Christopher Walken’s comeback to acting after a four-year break from the big screen. He last appeared in three films in 2020, then took a break from movies (though he did make an appearance in the 2022 television series Severance).

Now, Walken takes on the role of Shaddam IV, also known as the Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe, in the Denis Villeneuve-directed sequel. He was drawn back from semi-retirement mainly because of the opportunity to visit a European city he likes.

Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two” notably features the acting return of Christoper Walken, who hasn’t been seen on the big screen in four years. The Oscar winner had a trio of films released in 2020 and then went on a hiatus from moviemaking (he did show up in the 2022 television series “Severance.”) Now, he joins “Dune: Part Two” as Shaddam IV, aka the Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe.
Why did Walken decide to make “Dune: Part Two” his comeback? It’s a question Vanity Fair asked the Oscar winner in a new interview, to which Walken responded: “I had, of course, seen the first ‘Dune’ a number of times. I loved it, and I admired [Villeneuve’s] movies. ‘Arrival,’ I thought, was wonderful. And to be with all those terrific actors —Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin, Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh and Stellan Skarsgård—and to go to Budapest,...

Denis Villeneauve’s Dune: Part Two was released earlier this week to overwhelmingly positive responses from critics and fans alike. The follow-up to 2021’s Dune: Part One sees Timothee Chalamet’s Paul Atreides becoming one with the Fremen, while his mother Lady Jessica manipulates events to make him the messiah of the Fremen, the Lisan al Gaib.
While a third film based on the novel Dune Messiah is yet to be greenlit, many scenes in the film set up the threequel, especially through Paul’s visions. The ending of the film also shows Zendaya’s Chani going away from Paul’s journey as he becomes the Emperor of the Known Universe. Though there are no Marvelesque post-credits scenes to set up Dune Messiah, one scene from the visions of Paul is theorized to indicate a key plot element. Spoilers ahead.

Mild spoilers for "Dune: Part Two" follow.
"Dune: Part Two" is loaded with hot young stars — Timothée Chalamet! Zendaya! Austin Butler! Florence Pugh! And nestled among all these new Hollywood faces is someone from the old school: Christopher Walken. When Walken joined the "Dune: Part Two" cast as Shaddam IV, the Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe, I was thrilled. Not because I'm overly familiar with "Dune" lore (I've never read any of the books), but because the prospect of seeing Christopher Walken in a big sci-fi epic as the "Emperor of the Known Universe" sounded pretty damn cool.
Sure enough, Walken shows up in "Dune: Part Two" and walks away with every brief scene he has. It's not a big role. It's not a showy role. But Walken, sporting puffy white hair and a hang-dog expression, has such gravitas, such heft as a performer, that he makes a meal of every tiny morsel.

The third trailer for Dune: Part Two has been revealed and in the clip, we see an all-out war breakout on Arrakis.
Anchoring the new trailer is the relationship between Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and Zendaya’s Chani as their love story underpins a lot of the action and also seeks to explain the leveling nature of Arrakis as it becomes the crucible of a galactic war. We also get more glimpses of Christopher Walken’s scheming Shaddam IV, the Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe and also Austin Butler’s ruthless and psychotic Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen.
But the most jaw-dropping action from the trailer is the scenes of war, as the great houses battle on the desert planet. We see the legions of forces from the Harkonnens and Atreides as well as the Fremen and Sardaukar warriors all engage in combat, but also see the awesome desert power of the mighty sandworms.

With a storied career in bodybuilding, action movies and multimillion-dollar business ventures, the man has been through a lot. But none of it was handed to him – he struggled and he worked hard to go from a young Austrian boy written off by his father to one of the most recognizable and admirable figures in pop culture. So quit your whining and be like Arnold!
Speaking with Howard Stern, Arnold Schwarzenegger said, “It’s all about hard work. That’s why I say…work but work your ass off. There’s no shortcut and you have to kind of put the work in…The human mind can only really grow through resistance. You can only strengthen your character, become a really strong person inside if you have resistance. If you fail,...

If Amazon’s The Boys is an R-rated riff on Marvel Comic’s The X-Men, then its new spin-off, Gen V, effectively serves as a similarly twisted take on The New Mutants. Given that both shows are about a universe where superhero content is relentlessly churned out by a soulless megacorporation determined to mine every last cent from its most famous IPs, there’s a certain irony to Gen V’s very existence. But any serious reservations are quickly blown away by how effectively it iterates upon The Boys’s winning formula, serving up another raucous blend of pitch-black humor, extravagant action, and emotional storytelling.
Gen V follows Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), a blood-bending super with a tragic past, as she enrolls in the prestigious Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. Run by Vought International, the shady organization that drives this world’s superhero-industrial complex, Godolkin is supposed to be Marie’s ticket to fame,...

2014 has been yet another fantastic year for television, one that continued the nichification of the medium, with highly specific and underrepresented voices breaking through in every genre. There was a comedy explosion, particularly on cable, with dozens of new series presenting confident first seasons and several returning shows reaching new heights. The dramas didn’t disappoint either, with visionary creators bringing new life to familiar settings and taking greater risks with their returning series, deepening their worlds. Throughout the year, directors and cinematographers brought lush visuals, composers pushed the auditory envelope, and an astonishing number of actors gave fantastic, memorable performances. More than a few shows delivered spectacle on a weekly basis, while others went small, deriving incredible power out of stillness and self-reflection. Some series swept the audience up, week in and week out, and others built subtly, only showing their hand in their season’s final episodes. There...

Chicago –It’s often surprising what the powers that be decide will be pushed as the next superhero property but one of the biggest of the moment is clearly “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” the Cartoon Network series that will be the focus of an upcoming video game, toys now available at McDonalds, and last week’s DVD release of thirteen exciting episodes from the hit show.
DVD Rating: 3.0/5.0
Kids have it great nowadays. Sure, we had some good cartoons when we were young but the variety and overall quality doesn’t compare to what it’s been over the last decade or so. In the world of superheroes, great programs and movies have arisen from several of the most beloved DC characters including “Justice League,” “Teen Titans,” and a number of great DC Universe films.
