The three major news networks all carried Donald Trump’s remarks reacting to the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision Monday that states cannot deny him access to the ballot.
In doing do, Trump was given a platform to blast prosecutors and judges in other cases, and to make unfounded claims that President Joe Biden has been engaging in a “weaponization” of the Justice Department.
“President Biden, number one, stop weaponization. Fight your fight yourself. Don’t use prosecutors and judges to go after your opponent so you can win an election,” Trump said in his remarks from Mar-a-Lago.
Trump used the occasion to also argue that he should be immune from prosecution in the January 6th federal conspiracy case, something the Supreme Court will consider next month. But he also suggested that Biden orchestrated his legal woes, even at the state level.
Fox News, CNN and MSNBC carried the remarks live.

Republicans are trying to spin the Biden impeachment inquiry forward after an hours-long deposition with his son Hunter Biden on Wednesday. It’s proving difficult, as the closed-door hearing doesn’t seem to have yielded many revelatory details.
Some Republicans are even conceding that Biden performed well under questioning. “I think when the transcript comes out, it’s gonna read well for him, because they did a great job prepping,” Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) told Fox News host Harris Faulkner Thursday.

The Fox News Channel was cable television’s most-watched news network for the 36th straight month, notching higher total day and key demographic viewers throughout the month of February when compared to its two closest competitors, according to Nielsen data.
The channel was also the most-watched in prime-time across cable news for the 37th straight month, the Nielsen ratings showed, with programs like “Hannity,” “The Ingraham Angle,” “Jesse Watters Primetime” and “Gutfeld!” drawing millions of viewers to the network during the week.
Fox News grew its television audience 8 percent during the day among total viewers and 5 percent in prime-time among the key demographic of adults ages 25 to 54 years old (A25-54), a group that is most attractive to advertisers, according to Nielsen data. Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany took an obtuse approach Wednesday to covering Donald Trump’s win in the New Hampshire primary — and the lies he told in his victory speech — focusing instead on how other news networks covered the comments.
McEnany, in the opening segment of her “Outnumbered” news talk show, attempted to shame MSNBC and CNN for not similarly covering President Joe Biden’s speeches.
“The media, they had a rather interesting decision to double down on not showing President Trump’s victory speech in full,” McEnany said before greeting her viewers and introducing fellow “Outnumbered” panelists Emily Compagno and Harris Faulkner. They were also joined by guests: former Michigan gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon and Democratic campaign strategist Kevin Walling.

Nikki Haley said last week that New Hampshire voters would have an opportunity to “correct” the results of the Iowa caucuses when they headed to the polls Tuesday. Whether they did depends on Haley’s definition of a course correction. Trump secured a solid — although not a total landslide — victory in the Granite State, further thinning the former South Carolina governor’s already-long odds of unseating the former president atop the Republican Party.

The Kansas City Chiefs delivered a blowout win against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but it wasn’t the score that left fans breathless. The internet broke over the all-but-confirmation that one Ms. Americana — Taylor Swift — and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are starting their very own love story. Swift was spotted enthusiastically cheering on Kelce from a private box at Arrowhead Stadium, in the company of Kelce’s mother, Donna. The pair were later spotted together in the stadium and drove off to dinner in Kelce’s own getaway car.

Fox News anchor Jeanine Pirro used a news segment Wednesday on “The Five” to mock the government response to the East Coast smoke crisis, disparaging Democrats who have encouraged mask usage despite its obvious and proven safety benefits.
Pirro, pulling straight from the right-wing pandemic playbook, called some of the smoke mitigation efforts in Washington “mask insanity” in video you can watch above.
“While Americans choke on the smoke, the far left smells an opportunity,” Pirro began, beside video of an indecipherable gray screen presumably featuring a smoky landscape.
“The Five” then pulled up an Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweet addressing the likely future needs surrounding similar climate crisis with Pirro’s sarcastic tone on full blast.

In her lawsuit (read it here), Jankowicz claimed that the network last year began a “malicious campaign of destruction” against her.
“Over the course of eight months in 2022, Fox talked about Jankowicz more than 300 times,” according to the lawsuit. “Across its broadcast and online publications, Fox’s employee hosts and commentators derided and lied about Jankowicz on repeat—and continue to do so even today.”

The journey from speculation to information can be a twisty one.
Many of the nation’s biggest TV-news outlets started their Tuesday-evening Election Night broadcast under the premise that Republicans were about to take significant share of Congress from their Democratic rivals. Within the first ten minutes of CBS News’ coverage, for example, Major Garrett and Anthony Salvanto unveiled a graphic projecting that the majority of races for seats in the U.S. House would lean red. During Fox News Channel’s coverage, opinion host Jesse Watters joined Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum to tell them he was hearing “good anecdotes” about voters in pivotal Western states.
Just before midnight, however, NBC News raised eyebrows by telling viewers it was indeed possible that the Republicans might just end up with only a few extra House seats, narrowing the party’s ability to govern. Within an hour, most major outlets were...

All the usual suspects will be on hand for Fox News Channel’s Tuesday-night coverage of the 2022 midterm elections. Viewers may see some unexpected ones as well.
Yes, Bret Baier, Martha MacCallum and Bill Hemmer will be on hand to guide the Fox News audience through the vote tallies, as will Arnon Mishkin, who leads the network’s Decision Desk. But Harris Faulkner will also take part in the coverage, and in a decidedly non-traditional way.
Most TV networks hope to inform voters about how their ballots affected the course of an election session. Fox News will do more with them. Faulkner will be stationed with as many as 25 to 30 voters from various walks of life and will be ready to quiz them on their reactions as the night proceeds. The “Voters’ Voices” group will be waiting in the studio that normally houses Greg Gutfeld’s late-night show, and Faulkner...

Former president Donald Trump was met with a civil fraud lawsuit from New York Attorney General Letitia James on Wednesday, and “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon can tell he’s getting worried. “He just asked Ron DeSantis to fly him somewhere random in the middle of the night,” he joked.
Breaking down the contents of the 250 million suit, which accuses the twice-impeached former president of widespread business fraud and inflating the value of his properties, Fallon detailed how Trump claimed his Mar-a-Lago estate is worth 739 million, but it was only appraised at 75 million.

Fox News’ drive to cast President Biden as a job-killing socialist took a hit on Friday when the January jobs report revealed the economy has added 467,000 jobs since the start of the year, despite Covid-19 cases spiking as the Omicron variant continues to spread.
“We created 467,000 jobs in January,” Biden tweeted. “That’s more than 6.6 million jobs since I took office. 2021 was the greatest year of job creation under any president in history.”
The numbers were surprising, as economists forecasted growth to dip from the 199,000 jobs created in December to around 150,000 for January.

All of the news networks carried events marking the anniversary of January 6th, albeit with differences in tone and tenor, but by the time of the opinion-heavy primetime hours, there were wildly different characterizations of the significance of attack on the Capitol.
MSNBC’s Chris Hayes opened his how at 8 Pm Et saying that “today we saw on full display the battle over the meaning of this date,” talking of Donald Trump’s “failed coup” as the probably the most infamous event since 9/11.
Fox News’s Tucker Carlson said it was “really just only a riot — maybe just barely,” while he again gave a platform to a theory that the events were a “false flag” operation. He even had on as a guest Sen. Ted Cruz (R-tx), who rather sheepishly said it was “sloppy and it was frankly dumb” to refer to the January 6th riot as a “violent terrorist attack” earlier this week.

After a Christmas tree outside Fox News headquarters in Manhattan caught on fire early Wednesday morning, talking heads at the network jumped to label the event as a “hate crime” against Christianity, and even against Fox News itself.
The fire was allegedly started by a homeless man who may have been mentally ill, according to New York City’s police commissioner.
The network’s outrage crescendoed on Thursday when a Fox News contributor compared event, which caused a grand total of zero injuries, to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec.

The series had most recently been on Paramount Network, which canceled the series in June, 2020, in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death. But Langley Productions went back into production that fall to produce episodes for international territories.
Fox Nation will debut the first four episodes on Oct. 1. The deal also includes 15 episodes from season 32.
As part of the launch, Fox Nation also is offering all first responders, including police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians and paramedics a one-year free subscription to the service starting on Sept. 13. The streaming service also will donate $5 to Answer the Call, which provides financial support to families of New York City first responders killed in the line of duty, on behalf of each new subscriber during the week of Sept.

Media Matters for America, a watchdog group that focuses on right-wing media, released findings Friday that said 60% of Fox News’ summer programming undermined Covid-19 vaccines. In total, Fox News talent and guests made 840 claims undermining or downplaying the immunization effort, the report said.
The organization has been analyzing Fox News’ vaccine coverage for months. A previous report showed that 57% of segments from June 28 to July 11 downplayed or undermined the vaccine, so anti-vaccine content has increased in recent weeks.
This coincides with increased calls from some Fox News personalities, like Steve Doocy and Sean Hannity, for viewers to get vaccinated. Those calls were reported widely as an about-face for Fox News, but the Media Matters study contradicts that narrative.

Fox News leadership reminded staffers to upload proof of their Covid-19 vaccine status Tuesday, regardless of if they work remotely or in one of the company’s offices. Tuesday was the final day to upload the statuses, which were requested in June, according to reports.

Employees were told to continue masking “in small, confined spaces with limited opportunities for social distancing and where there are multiple employees, including control rooms.” Essential employees are required to be tested for Covid-19 on site once a week, either Monday or Thursday.

“Fox & Friends” co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade shared two very different opinions on vaccines Thursday morning.
Doocy encouraged viewers to vaccinate their kids over the age of 12, causing Kilmeade to interject, “Right, or see a doctor and decide what you want to do. That’s who usually, people, go to for medical advice: doctors.”
Doocy, who has been vocal about his own vaccination and participated in Fox News PSAs urging viewers to get the shot, remarked that he hadn’t consulted with a doctor before getting his own jab, but Kilmeade maintained, “I don’t think anchors should be recommending medical advice.”
“A lot of people have been tuning into the show for 25 minutes to see what we think about things,” shot back Doocy. “I think if you have the opportunity, get the shot.”

Fox News released a recut version of a February Covid-19 PSA on Wednesday directing viewers to the new vaccine finder on the company's digital homepage.

The White House has had “regular contact’ with Fox News over vaccine coverage, but the administration says it isn’t singling out the news network.
Joe Biden’s administration escalated its efforts last week to combat misinformation about vaccines, but that effort has focused in large part on the role of Facebook and other social media companies, not on what conservative hosts like Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham have said on their nightly shows.

Joe Biden’s administration is preparing to allow for media access to border facilities and will release details in the coming days, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Monday, amid criticism over the ability of reporters and photographers to gain entry to facilities housing a surge in migrant children.
“First of all, we are working to finalize details, and I hope to have an update in the coming days,” Psaki told reporters at the White House press briefing. “We are working through with the Department of Health and Human Services, and also the Department of Homeland Security to ensure privacy and to ensure that we are following Covid protocols. We remain committed to transparency, and of course as I noted last week, we certainly want to make sure the media has access to this sites.”
The issue of media access has drawn attention from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

Conservative radio host Larry Elder compared Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi Bi’s Grammys performance of “Wap” on Sunday night to a trip to the strip club.
