Trench
Logline: Reclusive writer Becky Holt is being stalked in her high-rise apartment, so Samantha Slade, failed stand-up comedian turned fledgling private eye, comes to her aid… for a fee, of course. But will her first case be the death of them?
Elevator Pitch:
“Trench” is a girl-powered modern-day detective comedy/thriller, shot like a 1940s Film Noir and set in the city of Melbourne, Australia. When reclusive writer Becky Holt experiences strange phenomena in her apartment, her online call for help is answered only by Sam Slade — a stand-up comic on the skids who needs cash and fancies herself a private eye.

As if the original retro poster for The Editor wasn't enough (the one you see on the right), the film has received another one-sheet from artist Graham Humphreys.
The cast is terrific: Paz de la Huerta (always an interesting choice because you never know what you're going to get!), Samantha Hill, Adam Brooks, Laurence R. Harvey and Udo Kier star.

Was a royal fan trying to send a less-than-subtle hint to the Duke of Cambridge? While he and the Duchess were visiting Cambridge Wednesday, Prince William was handed a baby's onesie decorated with a helicopter and the slogan "Daddy's little co-pilot" - a gift from well-wisher Samantha Hill of Sudbury, Suffolk, who also brought her 4-week-old daughter Beth to see the royal couple. Hill, 27, told reporters, "I made it for when his little one comes along. He's a helicopter pilot, so his baby will think his daddy is cool." Dad seemed to think the present was pretty cool, too. Said...

Earlier this month, Shock had learned that Bad Meat - a film formerly directed by Wrong Turn 's Rob Schmidt before funding was pulled from the production - found new life in the hands of filmmaker Lulu Jarmen. To further confirm that the film is complete, it was recently picked up by Film4FrightFest for a Halloween All-Nighter event on Saturday, October 28. We have the very first image to come out of the film, too. Elisabeth Harnois, Dave Franco, Mark Pelegrino, Tahj Mowry, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Joe Dinicol and Samantha Hill star. In the film, a group of so-called problem teens are sent by their parents to a repressive Boot Camp in the middle of nowhere, in the hope that the strict regime will transform them into youthful model citizens that their parents can be proud...

2008 was not a good year for Rob Schmidt ( Wrong Turn ) or his film Bad Meat , starring Elisabeth Harnois, Dave Franco, Mark Pelegrino, Tahj Mowry, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Joe Dinicol and Samantha Hill. You see, the company backing the film financially shut down and shooting came to a halt. An estimated 2/3 of the project was said to have been in the can. Since then, Schmidt has apparently pulled the film from his IMDb page and so has screenwriter Paul Gerstenberger and many others. But we stumbled over some news that may indicate the film was completed. Jinga Films is selling the project at the American Film Market in November. The company's listing says the film is now completed and directed by "Lulu Jarmen." Of course, there is no record of a Lulu Jarmen on...
