The second part of The Challenge: Battle For a New Champion reunion featured cast members claiming Jay Starrett was unfaithful to his girlfriend during a moment not captured on film.
During the special, there was a segment about various cast members’ showmances and hookups, including the ones fans saw.
Those included Horacio Gutierrez and Nurys Mateo, Kyland Young and Melissa Reeves, and James Lock with Moriah Jadea.
However, a few other potential hookups or makeout scenes didn’t make Season 39’s final footage and got attention at the reunion.
One clip featured Emanuel Neagu heading to the shower to join castmate Berna Canbeldek.
While some cast members were surprised, another big revelation arrived. Several cast members claimed Jay was kissing a castmate despite having a girlfriend back home.

Michele Fitzgerald faced backlash after a recent scene from The Challenge: Battle For a New Champion’s reunion special surfaced.
In the clip, reunion host Maria Menounos asked Nurys Mateo about the situation with former friend Jay Starrett, where she ended up on the outskirts of his and Michele’s alliance.
Nurys said she felt things went awry between her and Jay when she started to date Horacio Gutierrez during the show’s filming.
However, Jay quickly argued that wasn’t the case and tried to shut her down, with Michele also jumping in to offer her two cents.
Nurys had a few choice words for Michele during the reunion moment, as she said the conversation involved her and Jay.
Meanwhile, fans of The Challenge expressed their thoughts about Michele getting involved in other people’s drama, leading to the Survivor star firing back.

Some viewers and former cast members have debated if The Challenge: Battle For a New Champion winner is now a legitimate champion based on their season.
While Emanuel Neagu won the final, despite some claims he cheated to win, there has been talk about how he never went into any eliminations during the season.
Some suggest it’s not as legit a championship since the Season 39 cast included all players who were relatively new to The Challenge and hadn’t won a season.
That topic came up during the Season 39 reunion, with host Maria Menounos mentioning Emanuel’s win early on and asking for the opinions of the former champs there.
Among those replying were Ride or Dies winners Devin Walker and Tori Deal, with Tori defending Emanuel’s championship.
Former show winner Zach Nichols recently weighed in with his thoughts about Emanuel’s win and explained why Tori had...

Do The Challenge castmates Laurel Stucky and Nurys Mateo have some unresolved issues between them?
Laurel and Nurys appeared as castmates on the previous season, Ride or Dies, before returning to different roles for Season 39.
They appeared in the Battle For a New Champion season, where Nurys was in the main cast, and Laurel was among the 10 former Challenge champs who showed up at The Arena for eliminations.
More recently, they’ve appeared in MTV’s airing of the Season 39 reunion and didn’t have any arguments during the first part of the special.
However, there may be more to the story than was previously shared during the reunion.
Laurel recently took to social media with an interesting message suggesting something might be happening in terms of them being amicable.

The Challenge: Battle For a New Champion winner was revealed last week during the season finale, and cheating claims have ensued.
The Season 39 reunion brought all seven finalists back together, with Nurys Mateo suggesting that show winner Emanuel Neagu cheated on his way to victory.
Host Maria Menounos asked reunion participants if Emanuel is a “worthy champion,” with Devin Walker joking he’s the “champion on a season of losers.”
Emanuel fired back that he would “kick the hell out of anyone up there,” which got Nurys fired up.
“Actually you want me to tell the truth? You only won because you cheated off Colleen [Schneider]…so humble yourself,” Nurys said, referring to the giant sudoku puzzle finalists had to solve at one checkpoint.
“Maybe a little bit, but a win is a win,” Emanuel replied, but the castmates took things further on social media.

During The Challenge: Battle For a New Champion reunion, Tori Deal and Cara Maria Sorbello were among the five former champions who participated in the special, with several back-and-forth quips.
There’s no love lost between the two castmates and champions, based on their history during The Challenge.
They appeared together in Cara Maria’s last Challenge season, War of the Worlds 2, before her hiatus of several years.
Unsurprisingly, a remark arrived during part of the reunion involving that season, as Tori brought up that season’s gameplay to Cara Maria.
That season featured Tori and her boyfriend, Jordan Wiseley, who were initially part of Team USA but then decided to defect to Team UK after Cara’s alliance started working to eliminate them.
Cara’s boyfriend, Paulie Calafiore, has now weighed in on the topic, as he was also part of the Wotw 2 alliance with his girlfriend.

The first part of The Challenge: Battle For a New Champion reunion featured a Horacio Gutierrez appearance despite him being away to film another competition show.
It was an emotional moment for his girlfriend, Nurys Mateo. She shared it’d been a rough time for her without him at the reunion to support her as she relived and rehashed all the drama from Season 39.
That included calling out Olivia Kaiser and Jay Starrett, as Nurys went into the season believing they were close friends who had her back.
The issue with Olivia was presented as her backstabbing or betraying Nurys during the season by choosing castmate Moriah Jadea to save from potential elimination rather than her friend Nurys.
At the Season 39 reunion, Nurys and Olivia argued more over what went down, with Olivia getting emotional and crying over their ruined friendship.
There was also mention of Nurys’ brother being on...

The Challenge: Battle For a New Champion reunion brings an entirely fresh battle as cast members will recall the season, hash out feuds, and battle it out with verbal jabs.
Not only will main cast members appear at the Season 39 reunion, but several returning champions who showed up for elimination will also be there.
Cara Maria Sorbello, Laurel Stucky, Devin Walker, Tori Deal, and Darrell Taylor are among them.
Maria Menounos returns as The Challenge reunion host to ask difficult questions and mediate the event as best possible.

Paula Shugart is departing the Miss Universe Organization after 23 years as president, she revealed on Thursday night in El Salvador — where this year’s event is set to take place on Saturday. Shugart’s exit comes following news that Thailand-based Miss Universe owner Jkn Global Group had filed for bankruptcy in its country, but insiders said Shugart’s announcement was unrelated to that news and had been in the works for a long time prior to that news.
Shugart shared the news of her departure while on stage at Thursday night’s National Costume Show portion of the Miss Universe pageant.
“In my 25 years at Miss Universe, we expanded global reach for this iconic entertainment brand by focusing on telling the stories of these incredible women,” Shugart said in an exclusive statement to Variety.” But more important than numbers and metrics, I’ve learned what it means to truly be a transformational leader.

Families with young children were in recline inside the suburban New Jersey Cinemark for an opening-weekend matinee screening of Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid” remake. That’s when it rolled: an ad for Hulu reality series “The Kardashians.” Cue the mom groans.
This dad of two, ages 3 and 6, didn’t groan outwardly; I braced for impact. And then it came in the form of a loud whisper: “I like them,” said my 6-year-old, who definitely does not know who Kim Kardashian and the gang are. But of course she would like them — she’s very into Barbie dolls.
The jarring moment was saved by Cinderella’s Castle and not spoken of again. But one of us couldn’t stop thinking about it. Why would an ad for “The Kardashians,” even a pretty innocuous one, run ahead of the animated-movie trailers that ran ahead of the kiddie feature presentation? My...

Calyn Thompson, the morning anchor at NBC affiliate Who 13 in Des Moines, Iowa, revealed to viewers she is battling breast cancer, a diagnosis she received after covering a story about staying up on regular mammograms.
Thompson, overwhelmed with emotions, made the announcement Wednesday morning on “Today in Iowa” and said she was diagnosed with the disease last November.
“Six months ago, I did an interview during breast cancer awareness month reminding you to stay up to date on your mammograms, little did I know that interview would foreshadow the beginning of my own journey,” Thompson said with her colleagues, co-anchor Justin Surrency and meteorologist Megan Salois, by her side.
As tears streaming down her face, the 28-year-old told viewers if something feels off or not right to get screened. She said she was glad to get the chemotherapy behind her and expressed things are looking good.

Maria Menounos has had a rough year as she was diagnosed with Stage 2 pancreatic cancer and undergoing surgery all while expecting a baby via surrogacy.
“I was feeling so good, and then I got slapped in the face with a new diagnosis,” Menounos told People. “I’d scream out loud, I was inconsolable.”
The former Extra host opened up about her health telling the magazine that she had been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes (which runs in her family) last year. Menounos said that she “was crushing it” by October after being prescribed insulin and going on a strict diet.
However, by November, the former E! News host was back at the hospital “with excruciating abdominal pain coupled with diarrhea.” Menounos underwent more tests but the results yielded nothing.
With pain continuing to affect Menounos’s quality of life, she had more studies done and received a whole-body Mri. The results...

For Maria Menounos, this past year can be summed up in three words: “trauma, stress, crisis.”

Maria Menounos has revealed she survived a fight with stage 2 pancreatic cancer.
The former E! News host, who in 2017 opened up about having surgery to remove a brain tumor, tells People that she was diagnosed in January and had surgery the next month to remove a pancreatic tumor.
After suffering from painful leg cramps, she went to the hospital, where she learned she had type 1 diabetes, which runs in her family. As she dealt with that “new diagnosis” through insulin and a strict diet, she started experiencing “excruciating abdominal pain coupled with diarrhea.”
At one point she felt “like someone was tearing my insides out.”
Though a Ct scan and extensive testing showed nothing, she tells People, she had a full-body Mri, which showed a 3.9 cm mass that was later revealed to be a stage 2 pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor.

In 2022, the last in-person event of the Iab Newfronts was Twitter, a sort of last hurrah for advertisers on the platform before it was sold to Elon Musk.
In 2023, the newfronts will end with another evening presentation from a platform with a decidedly uncertain future: TikTok.
The advertising trade organization released its planned schedule for this year’s newfront, with a bevy of heavy hitters set to participate. The evening presentations May 1, 2 and 4 will belong to Amazon, Yahoo and TikTok, respectively. NBCUniversal’s Peacock, Meta Platforms, Snapchat, YouTube, Roku and Condé Nast are also set to host presentations.
There will also be a “main stage” May 3, where companies will deliver more rapid-fire presentations. Maria Menounos will host that day.
Most presentations will be streamed live, in addition to some people being invited to attend in person (TikTok, it’s worth noting, will not be streamed).

In the sketch, presenters Mario Lopez and “Maria Menounos or Kit Hoover” (Marcello Hernandez and Heidi Gardner) are interviewing celebrities ahead of the awards show, which takes place on Sunday (12 March).
“I’m told that we have the stars of The Banshees of Inisherin, Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson,” Gardner says, with Mikey Day and Molly Kearny then appearing as the pair of Irish actors.
“How do you guys like your chances tonight?” Gardner asks them, with the comedians replying in extremely thick, hard-to-understand accents.
“Wow, and they haven’t even started drinking yet!” Hernandez responds as Lopez.

Farrell, who was in contention for the Best Actor award for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin, was approached during the ceremony by host Jimmy Kimmel, who relayed to him a “fan question”.

Kimmel said that someone wrote in to say that they had adored Farrell’s performance in the film but was unable to understand what he said in it.
The actor replied: “Watch SNL from last night.”

Saturday Night Live had more than half its cast hit the faux red carpet in a cold-open spoof of the 95th Academy Awards. And from mentions of Ariana DeBose’s Angela Bassett rap and Will Smith’s Oscars slap to jokes about Ozempic and Tár, nothing was off the table! March 11’s cold open took the guise of an Oscars red carpet pre-show, hosted by Marcello Hernández as Mario Lopez (“the man inside your hotel TV who tells you what the movies are”) and Heidi Gardner as either Maria Menounos or Kit Hoover. “You’re about to watch the 95th annual Academy Awards, sponsored by Ozempic,” Mario says. “Ozempic: I guess everyone in Hollywood has diabetes,” adds Maria/Kit. Mario says that he and Maria/Kit have been outside the Dolby Theatre for almost 153 hours. “But it’s all worth it to ask Angela Bassett if she really did ...

Ahead of the 95th annual Oscars on Sunday, the Saturday Night Live cold open featured a live red carpet segment and what audiences can expect ahead of the ceremony.
Marcello Hernandez and Heidi Gardner played Mario Lopez and “Maria Menounos or Kit Hoover,” hosts of Access Hollywood‘s Oscars Red Carpet Show. “We are so excited to have been standing outside the Dolby Theatre for almost 153 hours,” Hernandez’s Lopez said. “But it’s all worth it to ask Angela Bassett if she really did the thing.”
Gardner’s host also referenced Will Smith’s infamous smackdown of Chris Rock during last year’s ceremony, saying, “This year, to make sure nothing crazy happens, the Academy hired a new head of security: notoriously calm and sane person, Mike Tyson.”
When asked about what new security measures are in place, Kenan Thompson’s Tyson, said, “This year, all the nominees have been given tasers,...

It had to be the Academy Awards that got burned in tonight’s SNL cold open, didn’t it? But did it have to be this gammy cold open?
“Last year’s Oscars had the slap, which was awesome, I mean bad, so bad,” said Heidi Gardner as “either Maria Menounos or Kit Hoover they haven’t told me which yet” in the NBC late-night show’s first few minutes. “So, this year to make sure nothing crazy happens, the Academy hired a new head of security: notoriously calm and sane person, Mike Tyson,” she says as Kenan Thompson strolled on screen as the former heavyweight champion.
At that point, Saturday Night Live should have realized that it had a case of less is more. But the show wanted more.
“I should warn you, the following things will set me off,” Thompson’s Tyson told Gardner’s Access Hollywood host...
