Exclusive: Relativity Media has acquired North American rights to Warren Skeels’ thriller The Man in the White Van from Garrison Film and Legion M, slating the film for a wide theatrical release on October 11.
Starring Sean Astin (Stranger Things), Ali Larter (The Rookie), Madison Wolfe (The Conjuring 2) and more, the film is inspired by a series of true crimes that shook the nation in the 1970s and delves into the harrowing experiences of Annie Williams (Wolfe), a spirited family girl, whose carefree existence is turned upside down as she finds herself stalked by an ominous man in a white van. Prone to exaggeration, her parents’ disbelief in her tales of being followed leads to a terrifying Halloween nightmare.

Running for almost a decade, Grant Gustin’s tenure as The Flash came to a close with Season 9 a year ago. The series finale saw Eddie’s resurrection and transformation into Cobalt Blue, who later reconciled with Barry to save the timeline. However, they don’t exactly part ways as friends. The show ends with Nora’s birth and Barry passing on the mantle to new speedsters.

However, showrunner Eric Wallace had envisioned a different path for the series finale, extending to Season 10 and taking its episode count to 200 before the network decided to conclude the series after nine seasons. Wallace’s plan for the finale included a proposed Blackest Night crossover, promising an ambitious storyline that could rival even Zack Snyder’s twisted take on DC superheroes.

Just when we as viewers were thinking that it would be tough for My Adventures With Superman to top the brilliant sixth episode, which portrayed marginalized characters like Monsieur Mallah and Brain in a sympathetic light, the seventh episode pushed the limits by introducing the multiverse in a brilliant manner. In the sixth episode, Clark came clean to Jimmy and Lois about his secret identity as Superman, and the bond between the three friends grew stronger than ever. As the trio bids farewell to Mallah and Brain, Clark learns about the possibility of his connection with the covert operations spearheaded by the mysterious general. In Episode 7, Kiss Kiss Fall In Portal, the story takes a detour from the central narrative, and we explore the larger DC multiverse with the help of one of Superman’s classic enemies.

Within the first half-hour of the Lifetime limited series V.C. Andrews’ Dawn — premiering Saturday, July 8 at 8/7c — we learn that the titular teen’s parents kidnapped her as a baby, she’s a member of the ruthless and wealthy Cutler family, her high school crush is really her biological brother, and the boy raised as her sibling is her new love interest.
It’s the kind of twisted drama one would expect from the author who also gave us Flowers in the Attic, another salacious tale about an affluent household that won’t let familial relations get in the way of love.

For Halloween 2021, Disney+ entered the world of R.L. Stine with “Just Beyond,” an 8-episode anthology series based on Stine’s line of comic books. The series never got a second season, with Disney+ leaving its fate hanging in the balance these past two years.
Unfortunately, we’ve learned this week that Stine’s “Just Beyond” will be one of many Disney+ original projects that are soon being deleted from the streaming service entirely.
As The Hollywood Reporter explains, “Disney is following Warner Bros. Discovery and removing under-performing titles from its streaming services in a bid to write off nearly $2 billion from its bottom line. In all, there are more than 30 shows that will be removed starting next week from the platforms in this first round of reductions. The titles will vanish starting May 26.”

This Titans season 4 article contains spoilers.
With shows like Loki and movies like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Marvel has established itself as the source for multiverse stories in television and film. But comic book fans know that Marvel was relatively late to the multiverse game, having been beaten to the punch several decades earlier by the DC story “The Flash of Two Worlds.”
So it was more than a little satisfying to see Gar Logan aka Beast Boy take a trip through the Red that connects all of the DC worlds in the ninth episode of Titans fourth and final season, “Dude, Where’s My Gar.” As Gar (Ryan Potter) moves through the Red, we get glimpses of various other DC properties, including Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) of Stargirl, Swamp Thing (Derek Mears) from the short-lived 2019 series, as well as he and Cyborg’s animated counterparts from Teen Titans Go!.

The CW's reality TV ambitions are coming into focus.
Deadline reported Thursday that the canceled HBO Max reality series FBoy Island has landed at the Nexstar-owned fifth broadcaster.
On top of that, The CW is also set to launch a spinoff -- FGirl Island.
STX had been shopping the format to U.S. buyers since HBO Max canceled FBoy Island following its second season.
The cancellation was not thought to be related to performance-based, with the axe dropping around the time Warner Bros. Discovery was shelving projects to save money following the widely-publicized merger.
Despite The CW being in line to be home to the show and its spinoff, the deal has yet to be signed, so the network will hold off on a formal announcement until contracts are written.

One of Hollywood’s most prolific showrunners is switching agencies.
Greg Berlanti has signed with CAA for representation in all areas. The architect of The CW’s Arrowverse and, more recently, co-creator of Netflix’s You and producer of the feature My Policeman, is moving to CAA from WME, where he’d been for 15 years.
Berlanti had been repped for the past 15 years by WME’s Ari Greenburg and will now be with a team at CAA led by Bryan Lourd.
The news comes as Berlanti has been in the midst of negotiations with Warner Bros. Discovery to extend his 400 million overall deal, which he signed in 2018. It’s unclear if he will do so, given that his current deal was made years before the WarnerMedia-Discovery merger. That deal included bonuses for the number of series Berlanti was able to get picked up.

It’s official: Former Pop TV president Brad Schwartz has been tapped to serve as entertainment president at the Nexstar-controlled CW. The executive had been consulting for The CW under former network CEO Mark Pedowitz after a short-lived stint as head of originals at Audible. Schwartz, whose hiring had been rumored, will report to former Nexstar board member-turned-cw president Dennis Miller as the station group begins its efforts to turn the fifth broadcast network into a profitable one that also reaches a broad audience.
In his new role, Schwartz will be charged with leading The CW’s programming strategy, including day-to-day operations, as well as its creative and brand development. Not counting the series that are officially ending this season, the oldest scripted series on the air at the CW is flagship All American, currently in its fifth season. All other shows are three-years-old or younger. That is significant as series tend to get more expensive as they age.
And, as the new owners of the CW, Texas-based Nexstar Media Group, have demonstrated, cutting costs is a key element of their plan to make the independent TV network profitable, which involves reducing the volume and price tag of original scripted series and ramping up cost-effective unscripted fare.
As part of the cost-cutting efforts, I hear Nexstar executives have been looking to restructure the agreements with the CW’s current scripted series suppliers, CBS Studios and Warner Bros. Television, floating a target license fee for drama series of 1 million dollar per episode going forward. That is significantly lower than the current...

The Winchesters and Walker: Independence won’t receive an additional episode order for their first seasons, as the future of The CW remains in flux. Both seasons will remain at the original 13 episodes. According to Deadline, the CW was hit with dozens of layoffs on Tuesday, November 1, and “a significant reduction in expenses will be a centerpiece of the new owner’s turnaround plan.” Season 2 renewals for both The Winchesters and Walker: Independence are still a possibility, but the Nexstar-appointed president Dennis Miller has decided against backorder for any first-year CW series. Nexstar Media has 75 percent ownership of The CW. The Winchesters and Walker: Independence aren’t the only series with futures up in the air, with returning series All American, All American: Homecoming, Superman & Lois, and Kung Fu all awaiting renewal. DC’s Stargirl, Riverdale, Nancy Drew, and The Flash are all coming to an end at the CW this 2022-2023 season.

Exclusive: Faced with their first decision on ordering more of the CW’s existing scripted series, the network’s new Nexstar owners opted against it. I hear there will be no back orders for the CW’s new fall series Walker: Independence, from CBS Studios, and The Winchesters, from Warner Bros. Television, whose freshman seasons will remain at the original 13 episodes.
I hear the same would apply to all CW freshman series and that the network’s head, Dennis Miller, stressed to producers and talent that no decisions about next season have been made, indicating that the lack of back orders does not mean cancellations.
Still, the decision further underlines Nexstar’s push to cut costs, including moving toward more. unscripted and cheaper scripted programming. Four CW scripted series are ending this season, The Flash, Riverdale, Nancy Drew and Stargirl. The list is expected to grow as the season progresses.

Superheroes face death every day. Courtney Whitmore knew that even before she became the superhero Stargirl, as she inherited the rod that gives her powers from her predecessor Starman, who died fighting the Injustice Society of America. Nonetheless, Stargirl entered the fight and inspired others to do the same, leading to the construction of a new Justice Society of America. But this December, Warner Brothers will succeed where the Shade and Eclipso failed, finally bringing an end to Stargirl.
The third season of the CW series will be its last, something that didn’t come as a surprise to creator Geoff Johns. “With all the brewing changes at the network, we were aware this was possibly the last season,” Johns admitted in a statement (via Deadline). In making a sequel to their 2020 Disney+ hit, Co-writer/director Julia Hart and her co-writer husband Jordan Horowitz have evidently completely departed from the novel sequel, which was titled Love, Stargirl. In that, Stargirl leaves Mica and moves to Pennsylvania, whereas here she (again played by Grace VaderWaal) and her mother Ana (Judy Greer) move to Hollywood when Ana gets a job designing costumes for a movie. On arrival, Stargirl meets Evan (Elijah Richardson) who, after hearing her sing, asks Stargirl to be in the ‘sizzle reel’ that he’s written and his brother Terrell (Tyrel Jackson Williams) is directing as a pitch for the film they want to make. While working on the film, Stargirl also meets Roxy (Uma Thurman), a musician who put out one album 25 years ago and her cantankerous neighbour Mr Mitchell (Judd Hirsch), who used to be a producer.

Don’t let the name fool you: Stargirl isn’t looking to break into the Hollywood stratosphere. Mostly, she’s looking for some friends beyond her harried mom and adorable pet rat Cinnamon. For a gal as charming as Stargirl, as good-hearted and caring as she is, that shouldn’t be too much to ask, right? In the world of “Hollywood Stargirl,” a brightly lit and candy-colored place that verges on the fairy tale — if only because everyone who populates it is also charming, good-hearted, and caring — it’s not, with some caveats, the kind happily wrapped up in a fanciful package.
Filmmaker Julia Hart follows her first “Stargirl” feature film — a 2020 Disney+ outing based on Jerry Spinelli’s bestselling YA novel of the same name — with . Picking up soon after the events of the first “Stargirl” concluded, “Hollywood Stargirl” finds our heroine again setting out on a new adventure.

Director Julia Hart has quietly crafted a Disney+ franchise that continues to unfold in creative and charming ways. Her adaptation of “Stargirl” debuted on the streamer just as lockdown began; now with “Hollywood Stargirl,” the second film in the series, it’s clear the writer-director’s voice has taken shape in the same assured way as that of her young heroine. Hart and co-writer Jordan Horowitz’s follow-up goes blessedly off-book, diverging greatly from author Jerry Spinelli’s source novel “Love, Stargirl” to deliver its own unique view on how artistic passion evolves and inspires. The sequel shifts perspective from the original, which captured the eponymous teen’s triumphs through a male protagonist’s lens, and better foregrounds her sparkle and shine.

He categorizes the world’s inhabitants in just two groups: those you serve and those who serve you. Stargirl Season 2 Episode 7

Exclusive: Sean Astin (Stranger Things), Ali Larter (The Rookie), Madison Wolfe (The Conjuring 2), Brec Bassinger (Stargirl), Skai Jackson (Bunk’d), Gavin Warren (12 Mighty Orphans) and Julianne Arrieta (Reagan) have signed on to star in The Man in the White Van, a true-crime thriller from Garrison Film Productions, Legion M, XYZ Films and writer-director Warren Skeels (Siesta Key).
The film co-written by Sharon Y. Cobb is set in 1974, watching as an ominous white van begins stalking a young girl from the town of Brooksville, Fl. Her parents’ disbelief that this is really happening, given her tendency to exaggerate, leads in the end to a terrifying Halloween nightmare. Pic will explore the origins of the “white van” trope in popular culture, and chart the beginnings of the destruction fomented by real-world serial killer Billy Mansfield Jr.
Wolfe will play the lead role of Annie, with Bassinger cast as Annie’s sister Margaret.
