A former Fox News employee claims in a new civil lawsuit that Tucker Carlson’s top producer Justin Wells sexually assaulted him in 2008.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court on Monday and cited New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which gave a one-year window for plaintiffs to file civil sexual abuse claims regardless of the statute of limitations.
Andrew Delancey, former regional producer for affiliate service Fox News Edge, claimed that in 2007, Wells contacted him on Facebook through a Fox employee Facebook group. At the time, Delancey was working at Fox 13 in Tampa Bay, and Wells was a producer at Fox 5 in New York. The next year, Wells encouraged Delancey to move to New York, and Delancey sent him his resume, according to the lawsuit. He eventually landed a job as a producer at the Fox News Edge team, and started in September, 2008.

“I don’t know why I was fired, I really don’t,” declared Tucker Carlson today on his sudden departure from the airwaves of Fox News on April 24. “I’m not angry about it,” the former primetime host told pal Russell Brand. “I honestly don’t know.”
“I was surprised,” Carlson said at another point in the heavy hyped interview on Brand’s podcast. “I didn’t you know expect to get fired that morning at all in April. So, I was shocked, but I wasn’t really shocked. And I wasn’t mad. It’s not my company. And when you work for someone else, that person reserves the right and in fact has inherently the right to decide whether you work there or not.”
“You can believe me or not, but …I wish Fox well,” one-time GOP kingpin Carlson added.

Fox News is forking over $12 million to Abby Grossberg, the producer who sued the network in March. Grossberg alleged both that Fox News manipulated her into giving misleading testimony in the Dominion Voting Systems case, and that she was subjected to rampant misogyny and other workplace discrimination while working on Tucker Carlson Tonight.
“While I stand by my publicly filed claims and allegations, in light of today’s settlement of $12 million, pursuant to which I have now withdrawn those claims, I am heartened that Fox News has taken me and my legal claims seriously,...

Fox News has settled another lawsuit, this one from Abby Grossberg, a former producer for Maria Bartiromo and Tucker Carlson.
Grossberg alleged that her time at Carlson’s show was marked by sexist, racist and antisemitic comments. She also claimed that she was intimidated and misinformed as she prepared to be deposed in the defamation suit brought by Dominion Voting Systems.
Recordings made by Grossberg ended up becoming key evidence in the suit, which was ultimately settled for $787 million right before the trial was set to begin.

Fox News has settled a lawsuit filed by a former producer for Tucker Carlson Tonight who claimed harassment based on her gender and Jewish religion, and that she was coerced in deposition testimony in the Dominion litgation.
Attorneys for Abby Grossberg said that network settled the case for $12 million.

Fox News agreed to pay $12 million to Abby Grossberg, a former producer for Tucker Carlson and Maria Bartiromo, who alleged the Fox Corp.-backed outlet had coerced her into providing false testimony in a deposition related to a recent defamation suit levied by Dominion Voting Systems as well as operating a hostile and discriminatory workplace.

Tucker Carlson launched his promised new show on Twitter on Tuesday with talk of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, UFOs, who killed JFK and what really went down on 9/11 — and the former Fox News host was a hit.
In its first four hours-plus, the low-tech 10-minute video posted on the Elon Musk-owned social media platform attracted 27 million views.
Broadcasting from what looked like a wooden cabin home studio and postulating that “American citizens are the least-informed in the world” along with his well-trodden take on the failings of the American media, Carlson essentially delivered what counted for a more echoing and caffeinated version of his nightly monologue on Fnc’s Tucker Carlson Tonight.

Tucker Carlson is on his way back to screens — well a smaller one anyway. The former Fox anchor is going to launch a new version “Fox News Tonight” on Twitter.
“Amazingly, as of tonight, there aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech. The last big one remaining in the world, the only one, is Twitter. Where we are now,” Carlson said in a tweet accompanied with a video on Tuesday.

The Republican presidential primary debates aren’t likely to play out in a neat and orderly fashion.
The New York Times reported earlier this week that Donald Trump, as of now the overwhelming favorite to secure the nomination, is probably going to skip one or both of the first two debates. The Washington Post added on Thursday that Tucker Carlson is thinking about getting into the debate game now that he’s no longer with Fox News, and that he’s been discussing plans to do so with the former president.

A new bombshell text sent by ex-Fox News host Tucker Carlson was published by The New York Times on Tuesday that reportedly was the catalyst to his ouster from the network in which he spewed more of his racist vitriol. But “The View” host Sunny Hostin just isn’t buying that idea, considering “Fox knew” about his racism.
In the text, which was written the day after the Jan. 6 insurrection, Carlson wrote about an apparent desire to support a group of Trump supporters, who “surrounded an Antifa kid and started pounding the living s–t out of him.”
“Suddenly I found myself rooting for the mob against the man, hoping they’d hit him harder, kill him,” Carlson wrote. “I really wanted them to hurt the kid. I could taste it. Then somewhere deep in my brain, an alarm went off: this isn’t good for me. I’m...

Fired Fox News producer Abby Grossberg sat down with CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Monday night and opened up even further about her experience as a booker for fired Fox News host Tucker Carlson. And, according to Grossberg, Republican politicians were actually “terrified” of appearing on the show — something Carlson himself delighted in.
During her appearance on “Anderson Cooper 360,” Cooper pushed for further details on Grossberg’s description of the environment she faced while working for Carlson, honing in on the fact that “from what you say, he talks as if he was in the position to destroy campaigns and would actually threaten politicians.”
At that, Grossberg readily agreed, and recalled a specific example from her time there.

Tucker Carlson’s abrupt exit from Fox News last week came after the revelation of a text message in which the host shared his views on a video in which a group of Donald Trump supporters attack an individual that Carlson calls an “Antifa kid.”
“It was three against one, at least,” Carlson wrote. “Jumping a guy like that is dishonorable obviously. It’s not how white men fight.”
The New York Times reported that the text message, still redacted in the trove of documents produced in the Dominion-Fox defamation litigation, set off concern about Fox board members, who planned for an investigation by an outside law firm.
The text message quickly spread across social media and other outlets, who have for the past week been speculating as to what ultimately led the network to cut loose its top personality.

A bombshell text sent by ex-Fox News star Tucker Carlson, published by The New York Times on Tuesday, finally reveals the beginning of the chain of events that led to him being fired by the right-wing network last month.

In the segment seen in the video above, Melber sets up his questions for Reiner by indicating that Fox’s $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems came to pass after what must have been a careful deliberation of which would cost the network more: settling for that gargantuan sum or taking matters to court and having Carlson and his colleagues take the stand.

“The thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on television are. They’re completely irrelevant,” he began in a video missive posted online just after 5 p.m. Pt/8 p.m. Et Wednesday.
Lashing out at so-called “liars” and declaring “the iron law of the universe,” Carlson — who ironically just last week was the host of TV’s top-rated cable news show and among the most powerful people in television — postulated: “Our current orthodoxies won’t last. The people in charge know this, that’s why they’re hysterical and aggressive. They’ve given up persuasion. They’re resorting to force.”

Tucker Carlson has issued a statement following his exit from Fox News.
In a video posted to Twitter on Wednesday, Carlson delivered a vague speech in which he spoke about what it’s been like to “step outside the noise” and how “true things prevail.”
“One of the first things you realize when you step outside the noise for a few days is how many genuinely nice people there are in this country,” Carlson started. “Kind and decent people, people who really care about what’s true. And a bunch of hilarious people, also. A lot of those. It’s gotta be the majority of the population, even now. So that’s heartening.”
He continued, “The other thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on television are. They’re completely irrelevant. They mean nothing. In five years,...

“The Daily Show” correspondent-turned-guest host Desi Lydic may detest most of what Tucker Carlson says, but on Tuesday night, she argued that there is one slur he’s allowed to use: the C-word.
Of course, that’s only “because he is one.”
On Monday, Fox News announced they had split with the controversial “Tucker Carlson Tonight” host, saying in a statement, “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.” No official reason for the firing has been revealed, and Carlson himself apparently wasn’t even told.

Fox News executives have in their possession a dossier of alleged dirt on Tucker Carlson should he attack the network in the wake of his departure, eight sources at and close to the network tell Rolling Stone.
When Fox announced Carlson’s departure on Monday, the network presented the separation as amicable. But according to one former on-air Fox personality, the anchor and some of the channel’s top executives are parting ways on “the worst” and “messiest possible terms.” Indeed, in private communications released last month as part of the Dominion-Fox lawsuit,...

Former Tucker Carlson producer Abby Grossberg had a lot to say about her ex-boss, detailing her experience with the noxious behind-the-scenes culture of Tucker Carlson Tonight in an interview with MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace on Tuesday.
Grossberg filed two explosive lawsuits against Fox News in March. She alleges that the network coerced her into changing her deposition to lawyers for Dominion Voting Systems and that she was the victim of a pervasive culture of misogyny and workplace discrimination while working as a producer for host Maria Bartiromo, and now-former host Tucker Carlson.

The news of Carlson’s sudden firing from Fox News was met by a round of applause from Fallon’s in-studio audience. “Some people aren’t sure what led to his exit, but Fox News can think of almost a billion reasons why,” Fallon joked, alluding to Fox News’ recent $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems. With all due respect to the debate over theatrical windowing, CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas kicked off with conversation not about movie theaters, but about much smaller screens. At Caesar’s Palace, everyone’s talking about cable news.

Carlson, who “agreed to part ways” with Fox News on Monday, and Lemon, who said in a Twitter post that he was informed by his agent that he was “terminated” by CNN, sucked up a lot of the oxygen early going amid all the Day 1 CinemaCon festivities.

Tucker Carlson, the now-former Fox News primetime host, used to deride critics’ attempts to get his show cancelled.
“Trust me, it’s a constant assault. It’s a never-ending effort to take us off the air,” he told Variety in 2020. At the time, he said he was lucky to have “the support of the Murdochs,” including that of Rupert Murdoch, chairman of Fox News’ corporate parent.
On Monday, however, the pundit found he should have been watching his back. Murdoch, according to a person familiar with the matter, decided he could no longer support the popular conservative pundit. His son,Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch, and Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, made the decision to cut ties with Carlson on Friday, according to a different person familiar with the circumstances. “Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” the company said in a statement.
Fox says a rotating slate of guest hosts will fill in at 8 p.m. on a show now called Fox News Tonight until a replacement is found.
The decision to split with Carlson is a surprising one, with Carlson’s program routinely ranking as the most watched on Fox News and on some days all of cable TV. Carlson and Fox’s afternoon panel show The Five had been trading off the ratings crown in recent months.

Fox Corp. may have settled the defamation suit brought by Dominion Voting Systems, but it still faces sprawling litigation related to its claims of election fraud.
Even after paying $787.5 million to end the case, Fox has to deal with a second defamation suit brought by another election technology company, Smartmatic, which seeks $2.7 billion.
Lou Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo, Jeanine Pirro, Rudy Guiliani and Sidney Powell are all named as defendants in the suit filed in February 2021 in New York State Supreme Court. Smartmatic argues that it only provided election technology and software in Los Angeles County but that the network and its commentators portrayed it as a “Venezuelan company under the control of corrupt dictators from socialist countries,” says the complaint. In their story, Smartmatic’s tech was used to switch and alter votes in many of the states with close outcomes in the 2020 election that Donald Trump lost. The company...

A judge overseeing a much-scrutinized defamation trial brought by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News and its corporate parent has admonished attorneys for the media company several times this week in preliminary hearings and suggested Wednesday he may appoint an outside monitor to ensure Fox isn’t withholding evidence.
Judge Eric M. Recently fired Fox News producer Abby Grossberg has revealed more behind-the-scenes details of her tenure at the network, saying her boss once told her after the 2020 presidential election that fact-checking at the network had been curbed and that show host Maria Bartiromo could “go wild.”
Grossberg, in an interview with NBC News that was to air Thursday night on “Nightly News with Lester Holt,” said her boss’ text message was part of an effort at Fox News that suddenly threw “caution to the wind.”
“There was no one to be found,” said Grossberg, who is suing Fox News, alleging she was set up to take undue blame in the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit against the network. “And these were the individuals that were ultimately responsible for the programming at the network.”
Grossberg paraphrased a text message from her boss in the interview with NBC News, indicating there had been a change in approach.
