Coldplay are looking back on their early days with the re-release of their debut single, “Brothers & Sisters.”
Before Coldplay were the platinum-selling, stadium-filling pop band they’re known as today, they were four college kids in London, studying for finals while they sought out a record deal. After the three-song Saftey EP, Coldplay were signed to Simon Williams’ Fierce Panda Records in 1998 and re-recorded their song “Brothers & Sisters,” which arrived on April 26th, 1999 as the quartet’s first official single release. Now, “Brothers & Sisters” will receive an exclusive vinyl re-release for its 25th anniversary, arriving on November 15th.
The original single release featured “Brothers & Sisters” as the A-side and “Easy to Please” as the B-side, with the CD version also containing third track “Only Superstition.” The new vinyl re-release will contain all three songs, as well as a newly-added fourth track called “The Story of Brothers...

One of the upcoming projects in the MCU that fans were often talking about was ‘Wonder Man.‘ It’s a Hollywood satire about Williams, who becomes a superhero after being an actor in Tinseltown.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play Simon Williams (Wonder Man), with Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse, and Ed Harris also starring. Recently, there were strong rumors about ‘Wonder Man’ being canceled, especially since it spent a long time in development with little news.
‘Wonder Man’ filming began in January 2024, but it faced delays due to strikes. This isn’t unexpected, as many other projects were also affected by delays or are undergoing reworks since the strikes ended. Unfortunately, just a few days into filming, a tragic accident resulted in the loss of a set worker’s life. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Wonder Man’ is in post-production. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will star as Simon Williams alongside Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse, and Ed Harris. Just recently, before the historic SAG-AFTRA project was over, ‘Wonder Man’ was heavily rumored to be canceled, which at the time made sense considering that the show spent a lot of time in development hell, with little to no news regarding it.
‘Wonder Man’ filming started in January 2024, the production was reportedly delayed due to the strikes, which isn’t as surprising considering that plenty of other anticipated projects were severely delayed or are in the middle of reworks now that the strikes have ended. Just a few days into filming the project, sadly one of the set workers lost his life in a tragic accident.

When the character Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne) made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut back in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the idea was that we’d be seeing the character again the following year in her own Disney+ show Ironheart… but 2023 came and went without Ironheart, and the show still doesn’t have an official premiere date. This has caused some fans to speculate that Marvel and Disney+ might have decided to scrap Ironheart, along with the series Wonder Man, which had Yahya Abdul-Mateen II taking on the role of the title character, who is also known as Simon Williams and hasn’t been seen in the MCU yet. But no, Ironheart and Wonder Man are not being scrapped, and in a new interview with Agents of Fandom, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation Brad Winderbaum described the shows as spectacular, amazing, and different.

If you were to design a global sales agent in a lab, they would come out looking a lot like Tamara Birkemoe.
Born in Italy to Chilean parents and raised between Sweden and Rome before moving to the U.S. for film school, the multilingual exec has been a force on the indie film scene since her first job, straight out of UCLA, for Mark Damon’s Mdp Worldwide. For the next 16 years, Birkemoe put in time at Mdp (later Media 8 Entertainment) and then at Foresight Unlimited, the production and sales group Damon set up in 2005. The slate she oversaw ranged from studio-released big-budget action fare, such as Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor and Baltasar Kormákur’s 2 Guns, both Universal Pictures films, which grossed $155 million and $132 million worldwide, respectively; to Kevin Costner starrer The Upside of Anger, a New Line release that earned $28 million worldwide; and Patty Jenkins’ low-budget true-crime drama Monster,...

Sometimes, you have too many irons in the fire and must take one out and let it cool. According to Deadline, Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is no longer helming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for Marvel Studios. Deadline says they hear Cretton’s exit is amicable, with the in-demand filmmaker remaining in the Marvel family for Wonder Man and Shang-Chi 2. Thankfully, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is years away from hitting theaters, giving Marvel ample time to reassign the Infinity War-level project to another director. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty releases on May 1, 2026, setting up Avengers: Secret Wars for May 7, 2027. The two event-driven films end the MCU’s Phase 6 timeline.
Cretton remains a creative force on Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man, which he co-created with Andrew Guest, who serves as showrunner. Cretton executive produces Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. Filming for the Disney+ series falls under...

Have you been wondering about "Wonder Man"? You're in good company. Given the recent news that Marvel is slowing its roll on releasing new TV shows and revamping its television production process to, well, make more sense, the future of most MCU shows is a bit nebulous. It's not that these shows won't happen, but between SAG-AFTRA's ongoing fight for fair pay and the entertainment industry's general post-pandemic belt-tightening, any show that's not already on the release schedule feels a little bit up in the air.
Thankfully, one of the most intriguing upcoming Marvel shows, "Wonder Man," still seems to be in the works as of publication time. With a crowded slate of shows on the horizon, including "Hawkeye" spinoff "Echo," "WandaVision" spinoff "Agatha: Darkhold Diaries", Riri Williams-led series "Ironheart," and reboot "Daredevil: Born Again," it's hard to remember what phase of the MCU we're even in anymore, nonetheless what's releasing next.

Marvel Studios has a hefty lineup of projects in the pipeline. The progress of these projects faced uncertainty amid the SAG-AFTRA strike, causing a halt in new developments throughout Hollywood. While writers have come to an agreement, the current status of the actors remains uncertain, with no resolution reached.

Marvel Studios has a pretty long list of upcoming projects. Projects whose developments were put under question due to the SAG-AFTRA strike that has paralyzed the development of new projects all across Holywood. And even though writers have reached an agreement, the current status of the actors is still under question, and no agreement was reached.
Now, due to these upcoming developments, it looks like ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ and ‘Deadpool 3’ will switch release dates, ‘Brave New World’ coming on May 3, 2024, and ‘Deadpool 3’ likely releasing sometimes in November or December of 2024.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is set to star as Simon Williams (Wonder Man), alongside Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse, and Ed Harris. This isn’t entirely surprising, given that many MCU projects are at risk of significant reworking. The most recent shock came with the announcement that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ would undergo major changes because the studio deemed the original concept dull. Instead of sticking to the comic material, the writers are shifting towards a procedural legal drama, focusing on Matt as he takes on a group of rogue policemen.

As the impact of the pandemic starts to dissipate, studios and film financiers are winding down some of the costly Covid protocols that added millions of dollars to their bottom lines. They are also avoiding the kind of prolonged shutdowns that dogged film sets during the initial years of the virus. That’s the good news.
But as the entertainment industry converges on Cannes, hoping to sell finished films and line up financing for their next projects, they are grappling with economic headwinds that threaten to sweep aside the cost savings associated with post-pandemic production.
“It’s just the nature of the industry right now — whenever something positive happens, there’s a new challenge that arises,” says Simon Williams, managing partner of Ashland Hill Media Finance. “You’ve cut a lot of what had been budgeted for Covid in terms of testing and contingency plans if someone gets sick, but...

This article contains minor spoilers for "The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."
Actor Nathan Fillion, a widely beloved figure thanks to his appearances on the cult series "Firefly" and on the hit series "Castle," has played three different roles across James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies. In the 2014 original, Fillion played the voice of a character called Monstrous Inmate, a tough space-alien prison denizen that the Guardians fought. Fillion also filmed scenes for "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2," but they were cut for the film's theatrical release. He was to play a human actor named Simon Williams.
In "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3," Fillion finally appears on screen in a recognizable way, playing a character named Karja. Karja was one of the many elite security guards — called Orgosentries — who worked on the high-tech, organically grown medical space station called the Orgosphere. It was explained that the Orgosentries,...

This Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 article contains spoilers.
One of the biggest thrills in a new James Gunn movie is seeing how he uses his stock company of players. Since his earliest days in the business, Gunn has loved bringing back actors from his other projects, making his brother Sean cameo as Calendar Man in The Suicide Squad, getting Nathan Fillion from his first feature Slither to play Simon Williams aka Wonder Man in unused artwork for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and even sneaking Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman into a big budget Disney movie for the first and third Guardians films.
But while Guardians Vol. 3 finally saw Fillion get a bigger part, and the move also brought back Old 97’s frontman Rhett Miller from the Christmas Special for a couple of shots, the most unlikely cameo involved a relative newcomer to the cast of Gunn players.

When it comes to cameos in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the franchise overlord put the “awesome” in Awesome Mix. We blasted off into the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s cosmos for what’s supposed to be a final hurrah for the team first assembled in 2014, and it was a who’s who of returning favorites and new faces in this new offering.
As with any MCU outing, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was stuffed to bursting with Easter eggs and cameos. Alongside the welcome return of Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar Ogord and Seth Green’s Howard the Duck, there’s even a role for Gunn’s wife and Peacemaker star, Jennifer Holland. Still, there’s a sense that Marvel ultimately wasted one actor that really could’ve had major potential.
Those up on Gunn’s back catalog...
