Director Dan Trachtenberg described his Predator movie, Prey, as a “David and Goliath story” in a recent featurette. It’s an apt description, and not solely because it refers to the first Predator hunt on Earth, 300 years ago. It’s also because the Predator itself is a bit of a giant.
Actor Dane Diliegro towers over Prey star Amber Midthunder at 6’9″. And that’s before you factor in the fully mechanized Predator head that sits atop Diliegro’s own head.
Bloody Disgusting spoke with the actor to discuss what it was like to play the much more feral iteration of the iconic horror character, the extensive training it required, and more.
For starters, how did Diliegro find his way into the role?

The direct-to-Hulu release of “Prey,” the action-thriller prequel to “Predator,” notched the most viewing hours ever on the Disney-owned streamer in its first three days — among all TV series and movies.
That would mean “Prey” had a bigger aggregate viewing-time total over three days than “The Kardashians,” which Hulu in April said was its biggest TV series premiere at the time.
Disney decided to forgo a theatrical release for 20th Century Studios’ “Prey,” which premiered Aug. 5 on on Hulu in the U.S., as well as on Disney’s Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories.
Disney said “Prey” also was the most-watched film premiere on Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ under the Star banner.

It’s good news all around for brand new Predator movie Prey, which has not only won over critics and franchise fans alike, but the film has also broken a new record over at Hulu.
We’ve learned today, “20th Century Studios’ highly acclaimed action-thriller Prey is the #1 premiere on Hulu to date, including all film and TV series debuts. Additionally, Prey is the most watched film premiere on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star Banner in all other territories, based on hours watched in the first three days of its release.”
Meagan Navarro wrote in her 4-star review for Bloody Disgusting, “Prey surprises in how different yet similar it feels to the franchise’s origins. It feels right at home with the mythology of the Predator universe yet stretches the boundaries in tone and scale. Soaring spectacle meets intimate storytelling, delivering one of the most solid entries in the franchise yet.

New York City architect Natalie works hard to get noticed at her job but is more likely to be asked to deliver coffee and bagels than to design the city’s next skyscraper. And if things weren’t bad enough, Natalie, a lifelong cynic when it comes to love, has an encounter with a mugger that renders her unconscious, waking to discover that her life has suddenly become her worst nightmare—a romantic comedy—and she is the leading lady.
Wilson stars as Natalie, alongside Hemsworth as Blake, a handsome client; Devine as her co-worker and earnest best friend, Josh; and Chopra as Isabella, a model and self-proclaimed yoga ambassador.

We need more Pennywise. It is a novel that has one of the most memorable villains in the shapeshifting Pennywise, and as fans of the book, we really want to see as much of Pennywise as we possibly can. Sure, that very idea goes against everything most great horror films do, but what can we say? We live in an era of instant gratification, and any bit of extra footage that we can get will go a long way in convincing me that this version of the character.
So far in the trailers, we got a couple lines here and there, and a couple of extended looks, but we have still to see much of the clown in motion. In this new clip from a Latin American TV spot, we get to see a little bit more of the famed supernatural baddie. It may seem like small stuff, but seeing...

It’s been a long time coming, but after years of development, and months of teasing from the production, we now have our first official teaser trailer for the hotly-anticipated film, It, from the mind of author Stephen King.
The anticipation for this flick has been very real, and in true fanboy form, many have been unconvinced that this film could be tackled. Lucky for us, the approach they’re taking is a smart one. Rather than try to fit the 1,000-plus page tome into a single movie, they’re splitting it in half, with this first film following the Losers Club as kids, and the second one following them as adults.

"Derry's not like any town I've ever been in before. People die or disappear six times the national average. And that's just grown-ups. Kids are worse... way, way worse." Ancient, evil, and looking for new victims, Pennywise the clown stalks the young residents of Derry in New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures' unsettling first teaser trailer for It, based on Stephen King's epic 1986 novel of the same name.
Press Release: New Line Cinema’s horror thriller “It,” directed by Andrés Muschietti (“Mama”), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades.
When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

“Let go. Be afraid. You all taste so much better when you’re afraid.” – It.
Winter of 1990 and ABC showed a miniseries that scared the living daylights out of viewers with it images of clowns and balloons. These were the days of Vcr’s and cassette tapes, when DVR’s and Blu-ray weren’t even thought of yet.
The miniseries It was true water-cooler banter for the next morning. Starring Richard Thomas, Tim Reid, Annette O’Toole, Richard Masur, Dennis Christopher, Harry Anderson and Tim Curry, it was based on the novel by Stephen King.
In 1960, seven pre-teen outcasts fight an evil demon who poses as a child-killing clown. Thirty years later, they reunite to stop the demon once and for all when it returns to their hometown.

The new movie version of Stephen King's It will be a 15, and well over two hours long...
Good news for fans of Stephen King's classic 1986 horror novel It: the movie version doesn't look like it'll skimp on the extensive plot that follows Bill and the rest of his childhood friends as they seek to end the terrifying reign of Pennywise the Clown in their small town of Derry, Maine.
The BBFC have slapped It with a 15 certificate, which was certainly expected from the disturbing trailers we've had so far for the film, and it'll be 134 minutes long, so you're in for a bit of a sit down when it arrives in cinemas next month. You can also expect "strong horror, violence and language." The film was passed uncut.
Here's the latest TV spot...

The Accountant is one of the most anticipated upcoming movies, but it isn’t revealing a lot of details, even in the trailer. The film has finally released a large set of images, and while it isn’t really the norm, you can get quite a bit more detail from them, including a look at a lot more characters and the situations Affleck’s character finds himself in.
We’ve got the basic idea that Christian (Ben Affleck) is a math genius who has some criminal clients and that he takes on a legitimate client to help an accountant (Anna Kendrick) who has found something funny in the books of a legitimate company. We also know that things go wildly wrong because Christian starts shooting people and goes a little “Bond.”
But, now we get some insight into how the story maneuvers, and the other characters. For example, Christian in...

Warner Bros. Pictures has released a second trailer for the upcoming drama The Accountant.
Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town Cpa office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations.
With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King (J.K. Simmons), starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client: a state-of-the-art robotics company where an accounting clerk (Anna Kendrick) has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian uncooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.
The film also stars Jon Bernthal (“Fury,” “The Wolf of Wall Street”), Jean Smart (TV’s “Fargo,” “24”), and Cynthia Addai-Robinson (“Star Trek: Into Darkness”), with Jeffrey Tambor (TV’s “Transparent,” “The Hangover” films...
