We’re only a few months away from Halloween Horror Nights 33! This year’s Universal Orlando Resort event is going to be starting early, and we have a new teaser for what’s to come this August!
In April, a short video told us that “fear cannot be contained” and featured a mysterious door that was holding back something terrifying. Today, that same locked passage has reappeared on X.

The tweet doesn’t contain a lot of info, but what it does say is:
“They Dont Want You To Know Theres Something Underneathzev Illn 4 WVHHVNG333333“
Is what’s lurking behind the Do Not Enter sign Halloween Horror Nights 33’s new host/villain? Who knows? We still don’t know the theme for a single haunted house yet!

You’d think it would be a given that any new project that serves as a follow-up to the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) would need to feature two very important elements: the klowns and the famous theme song by The Dickies… but the upcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game is missing one of those elements, as The Dickies have confirmed that their theme song is not being used for the game.
The announcement was made on The Dickie’s Facebook page: Got some gnarly news to share, a true bummer: The Dickies’ Killer Klowns from Outer Space theme song won’t be in upcoming Killer Klowns Video Game. Yeah, makes ya feel a bit gutted. Like a total slap in the face after all the love and loyalty fans have given that song for 36 years. The band really appreciates that you’ve...

Teddy Told Me To, the directorial debut of effects artist Tom Devlin is based on a character he created for an episode of SyFy’s makeup show Face Off back in 2011. Teddy was designed to be the villain for a slasher film, and now eleven years later, he’s just that.
The film opens with a YouTuber sneaking into an old haunted attraction, “abandoned since all the way back in the 90s!”, only to meet a bloody end. That video is being watched by Danny and Zoe who are meeting a realtor about that very property.

John Massari, who composed the score for the 1988 cult classic horror comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here), has returned to create the music for the upcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game, which will be released for PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One sometime in 2023. While we wait for a specific release date to be announced, the main theme Massari has composed for the video game, a track called “The Darkkest Karnival” has been released online, and you can listen to it in the embed at the bottom of this article. Our friends at Bloody Disgusting were told, “This blood-pumping track pays homage to the original ‘Klown March’ recorded in 1987, while also adding darker, unexpected modern twists to its structure.”

Springboarding from a youth spent shooting their own movies on 8mm – the heartfelt intent and burning enthusiasm for which sometimes (but not always) rendered the made-for-pennies mini-epics amusingly watchable today – in 1987 the enterprising Chiodo brothers finally got to stage their first feature film production, which was released to decent acclaim in 1988. Produced and co-written by Charles, Edward and Stephen Chiodo, with the latter occupying the director’s chair, that film is every bit as bizarre as you’d expect of one bearing the title Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

It seems is a pretty good time for film music lovers in general; John Carpenter, Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman got to tour with their work around the world last year, just to name a few of the film composers that are bringing their music to a live audience. But not only the most popular composers are doing the live route, we cult film enthusiasts will have a very special opportunity next month. To Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the release of Killer Klowns From Outer Space, the film's composer John Massari will conduct his score for the Chiodo Bros. beloved film at The Montalban Theater, in Los Angeles, CA on May 19. As something of a connoisseur of horror films I’ve seen many, many of them over the years. Some have been good, some great, some downright terrible and then there are those that just defy definition. They’re so bad that they’re good, and there are few finer examples of these kinds of movies than 1988’s Killer Klowns From Outer Space.
The title alone should let you know what you’re in for, and it doesn’t disappoint, delivering exactly what it says on the tin. The plot, such as it is, has a race of aliens that happen to resemble the titular funny folk touching down in the sleepy town of Crescent Cove and proceeding to kill the townsfolk. Why here? We’re not really sure, but it’s suggested that they’ve made the equivalent of a pit stop at an intergalactic fast food joint for a...

How does one discover a movie like The Wizard of Speed and Time in 2012/2013? Isn’t it antiquated? Isn’t it beyond overdone and dated and doesn’t the premise just fall apart in the face of what we know about Hollywood; the whole movie is one great big farce filled with anti-truths and nonsensical ramblings of a talented special effects man from 1980-whenever? First of all, none of what you have just read is true save that Mike Jittlov is one talented effects man who happens to have a keen eye for film making and a knack for storytelling that touches the heart, inspires and yet delivers a message all at the same time. This is the kind of movie you want you kids to watch if you want them to grow up to be filmmakers like you never became. Follow your dreams. Learn how to accomplish your goals and never give up.

Nostalgia can be a deceptive beast. When I look back at horror films that I adored as a child, some of them just don’t work anymore. Surprisingly, Killer Klowns From Outer Space still plays as well for me as an adult as it did upon endless viewings in my early teens on television. Only now, I can appreciate the dark humor and adult situations in a way my younger mind could not dare imagine.
Although there is nothing really objectionable in this PG-13 horror movie, it’s surprising at times just how dark and twisted the material is, but in the silliest way of course. Can anyone take the film seriously when alien clowns are running around terrorizing people with guns that shoot popcorn and wrapping the townsfolk in cocoons made of cotton candy? Who cares? It’s a fun ride, so sit down and enjoy it!

A Planet Fury-approved selection of notable genre releases for the first two weeks of September.
Mother's Day (1980) Anchor Bay Blu-ray & DVD Available Now
Though the company had yet to be formed, Mother’s Day was the first unofficial Troma film. Written and directed by Charles Kaufman (Loyd’s brother), it’s a violent, cheapjack revenge film with several of the patented Troma ingredients already in place. Uneasy comedic elements, amateur performances, sketchy scripting and aggressive misogyny abound. In spite of all this, Mother’s Day is also a fairly engrossing little exploitation film that seems to get better with age. Featuring the late, great Beatrice Pons as Mother Rose.
Special Features Include:
* Feature Length Audio Commentary with director Charles Kaufman and assistant art director Rex Piano
* Behind the Scenes of the Original Mother’s Day: includes Super 8 footage of screen tests and special effects (with Charles Kaufman commentary)
*Original trailer
* "Ike,...
