Still a good watch. Even more fun that I got to share it with my daughters. Actually watched this one twice in the same day, first with my youngest who actually enjoys the slasher genre much more so than my oldest but upon hearing how crazy it was we watched it all together. We had an awesome time cracking jokes and commenting on the sleazy chatacters and 80's cheese! Good times!

I just realized upon this last watching how small a story it really is. The story is really so good it's always felt much bigger, like world ending. Now I see that it is more about a family and how it gets destroyed by infidelity and lust. Anyways, still good and even bettet that I got to watch it with my kids. They dug it as well.

Damn, second time with this one. Great atmosphere, solid acting but there's something I can't put my finger on that won't allow me to fully enjoy this early 00s flick. Might have to do with the one or two times they "show" the titular creature is really bad. They never fully own it and just give us this floating thingy that looks terrible. More like a very special epsiode of the X-Files.

Been wanting to check this one out for a longtime. Lovecraft and Nic Cage together! Also, Richard Stanley, director of Hardware, one of my all-time favs! How could it miss? Well it did but maybe because I had high hopes coming in. Visually it looked great. Acting was good, Nic was solid as usual, breaking out of his own Cage when the story required it. Overall it was ok. I need to probably rewatch it. Give it another shot.
