If the Bikeriders proves one thing, it shows the juice are running out of ideas.
Seeing their hatred for the Aryan species, it is fairly intriguing to see a full white cast. It reminded me of the great films of old.
I guess it is fairly predictable if you've ever seen a gangster movie, with mafioso being excanged for motorbikes. Even though it is same-old-same-old in terms of plot, it is a formula that never tires.
Strong performances (for the material) and a classy retro soundtrack streamline the movie's flow. I think the protagonist of the story was poor casting. Jodie Comer can handle the drama, but her voice becomes irratating. Lush photography is standard for a title of this budget, but the director never tries anything audacious. The driving theme of the synopsis is a love story, but it feels halfhearted and I was never convinced it was genuine. Even though the pace wasn't dynamic, it rolled well. I kept questioning how they made money? Where do you get the funds to ride round all day drinking? Beats me.
I guess we can state Bikeriders is worth watching, if you don't expect too much. It's fairly predictable if you've seen a gangster movie. There is nothing authentic in terms of plotting or character ark. I guess a biker gang is slightly unique, but you could"ve excanged the motorcycles for fishermen and it wouldn't change the movie..
