The Walking Dead's Steven Yeun Defends The "Is Glenn Dead?" Controversy

11 February 2016 10:37 AM, PST | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Hey Walking Dead fans, remember the seemingly endless weeks this fall you spent agonizing over whether or not Glenn had actually died on the ground next to that dumpster? The radio silence on his condition, the absence of his story on the show—and who can forget how the producers went so far as to remove Steven Yeun's name from the opening credits? It was torture. Honest-to-goodness storytelling torture. One person who doesn't really feel all that bad for the agony? Yeun himself. In a new interview, the star of the hit AMC series has finally opened up about the choices made in the first half of season six. "I was all gung-ho and in for it, and whatever anybody wants to say about the »

At the very end of The Walking Dead's fall finale, Start to Finish, fans were introduced to a group known as The Saviors, who inform Daryl (Norman Reedus), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) that all of their property belongs to the villainous Negan. Just a few weeks prior, we learned that Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast as this iconic villain, although he won't actually surface until the Season 6 finale, before becoming a series regular in Season 7. With just a few days remaining until the show returns with the midseason premiere No Way Out, the AMC Twitter feed released a clip with the first four minutes of this first new episode, with the show picking up exactly where it left off.

We still don't know exactly who these Saviors are quite yet, since the leader of this group doesn't identify himself in this four-minute clip. Still, Daryl, »

These New Quotes May Have Just Confirmed a Huge, Devastating Death on The Walking Dead

10 February 2016 12:06 PM, PST | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

The threat of Negan's arrival on this season of The Walking Dead has been looming over us for a while now, especially since his presence in the comics comes with the very shocking death of fan-favorite character Glenn (Steven Yeun). Although Glenn's brief brush with death earlier this season had fans hoping he'd be alive and well for many episodes to come, a few of the show's cast members may have inadvertently dropped some major spoilers regarding his fate. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the intensity of the sixth season's finale came up, and Andrew Lincoln - who plays Rick Grimes - had quite a few troubling things to say. "I felt sick to my stomach when I read the script. It was the first day in the whole six years of working on The Walking Dead that I was late for work because I woke up in »

Glenn and Maggie's 'Walking Dead' Reunion Won't Be a Happy One

5 February 2016 1:31 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

The first half of The Walking Dead's sixth season was particularly hard for fans of Steven Yeun's Glenn Rhee, who was thought to be killed off in the third episode, Thank You. We saw Nicholas (Michael Traynor) kill himself as both he and Glenn fell into a herd of walkers. But we found out just a few episodes later that Glenn did in fact make it out alive. In the fall finale, we saw Glenn and Enid (Katelyn Nacon) make it back to Alexandria, just as the "walkers" started infiltrating the compound. Entertainment Weekly recently spoke with Lauren Cohan, who teased that Maggie's reunion with Glenn may not be as heartwarming as one would expect.

"The reunion is going to be somewhat overshadowed by a lot of other darkness. I think I can say that much. Because they have found each other and just in time to sort »

'Walking Dead' Season 6 Preview Teases the Biggest Threat Yet

3 February 2016 3:38 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

This Sunday, the small screen will be dominated by the Super Bowl, but next weekend, the undead will take over when The Walking Dead returns with the back half of Season 6. To get fans ready for the midseason premiere, AMC has released a new preview, where several cast and crew members tease what's next for Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of his survivors in Alexandria. What's most intriguing is Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) reveals that there will be another major death before Season 6 comes to a close.

This falls in line with an interview Norman Reedus gave last month, where he hinted at a "big fight." We also hear from Glenn (Steven Yeun), who almost died in the first half of the season, along with Melissa Suzanne McBride (Carol), Ross Marquand (Aaron), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha), Christian Serratos (Rosita), Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln, who teases that the show is »

The Walking Dead without Maggie Greene? There was a moment when Lauren Cohan almost called it quits, the actress revealed. While sitting down with James Lipton and other cast members on Bravo's Inside the Actors Studio, Cohan said the season three scene where she had to perform a c-section on Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) almost sent her packing. After reading the script, she said she consulted her on-screen husband Steven Yeun. "I knock on Steven's door and I said I have to leave the show, I don't think I can do it," she admitted. "It affects you so deeply to the core to touch on—to dive into so much of this material and then I realized that's why I have to do it because the outcome of »

That Time Lauren Cohan Wanted to Quit The Walking Dead Because of a Gruesome Death Scene

2 February 2016 10:59 AM, PST | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

You have to be a hardy soul to film a show like The Walking Dead, full of constant death and destruction. Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie with steadiness and warmth, almost reached her breaking point during the third season, when her character had to perform an emergency C-section. When she read the script, she sought her onscreen husband, Steven Yeun (Glenn!), to talk it over. "I knock on Steven’s door, and I said, 'I have to leave the show. I don’t think I can do it,'" Cohan said on Inside the Actor's Studio. "It affects you so deeply to the core to dive into so much of this material." The most important part of this anecdote, though, is that the actors all live next to each other in an "incestuous" situation. Please, go on. »

'Walking Dead' Season 6 Will Bring a Big Fight and Lots of Turmoil

In just a few short weeks, The Walking Dead will return to kick off the back half of Season 6 on Sunday, February 14 at 9 Pm Et. Of course, this date is Valentine's Day, but any fan of the show knows that it's not necessarily romantic, although the relationship between Glenn (Lauren Cohan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) has become part of the show's foundation. Still, don't expect to see any burgeoning romances when the show returns. In fact, series star Norman Reedus, who plays fan favorite Daryl Dixon, teased in an interview with Empire that a huge fight will unfold when the show returns.

"There's going to be a fight. I won't tell you who, when and where, but I can promise you a fight. All of us are about to clash with that motherf---er. There's a lot of turmoil in the second half of Season 6."

Sorry, You Won’t Get to See Jeffrey Dean Morgan Get His Sexy Psychopath on Until the Season Finale of The Walking Dead

27 January 2016 12:16 PM, PST | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

It's just a couple of weeks before The Walking Dead returns from its mid-season hiatus to rip out your hearts! TV Insider has a long piece teasing the show's return with showrunner Scott Gimple, Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, and Melissa McBride, who promise that The Walking Dead's second half will be extra bloody. And yes, as we all know, the biggest bad of them all, Negan — played by the deliciously hirsute Jeffrey Dean Morgan — will arrive this season with his barbed baseball bat, Lucille, in hand. But here's the catch: You won't actually get to see him until the season finale. “His name has been invoked and his group is certainly of growing importance, but it’s not like we are going to see him starring in an episode right off the bat,” Gimple said [editor's note: Lol]. 'The Walking Dead' Brilliantly Mocks Glenn's Season 6 Storyline

21 January 2016 7:04 AM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

At least we can laugh about it ... for now. "The Walking Dead" fans are waiting for Season 6 to return and probably torture Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) in strange new ways. (Keep a Dumpster handy, just in case.) The AMC show is based on Robert Kirkman's comic books, and the official "Walking Dead" account from Skybound Entertainment, @TheWalkingDead, had some fun at the TV show's expense with this mashup of Netflix's "Making a Murderer" and Glenn's fake-out death in the first half of Twd's 16-episode season.

If Season 6 of #TheWalkingDead were on @netflix...

What a Spot-On Photo Mash-Up of The Walking Dead and Making a Murderer!

The Walking Dead knows it put you through the ringer last year with the supposed death of Steven Yeun's Glenn, teasing viewers for weeks with an is-he-or-isn't-he-a-zombie game. It was perhaps reminiscent of the shady strategies employed by Wisconsin prosecutors in making Steven Avery appear guilty in Netflix's Making a Murderer. So some genius over at the Twitter account @TheWalkingDead (that's the cheekier comics handle, not the show's) poked a little fun at the show for its emotionally manipulative tactics.
