We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Girl Meets World, Jane the Virgin, NCIS and Scandal!
1 | Shouldn’t Girl Meets World have given Maya and her mother a scene to discuss how they felt about Kermit’s arrival? Also, are we to trust that Katy and Shawn are still dating, despite the fact that Rider Strong hasn’t made an appearance for 16 episodes?
2 | Where do you fall on Undateable making meta jokes about the actors’ past projects: Yea or nay?...

Some shows just don't need to be canceled. Why ever cancel 'Survivor'? We don't tire of the conceit. It's not like "American Idol" where the glory of winning depends on our investment in an artist's market potential. "Survivor" is about "Survivor" and that''s that. Though quality may vary from season to season, we're never bored of the ludicrous machinations and maddening puzzle challenges. As we process the "Worlds Apart" finale, let's pick an underrated season to spotlight: I think "Survivor: Philippines" deserves a bit more credit -- not only because Denise Stapley was a valiant and cool winner, but because Lisa Whelchel's arc on the show was, um, astounding? She went from being a self-assigned, miserable hermit to a real player and pseudo-philosopher who was both sincere and successfully manipulative. A rare kind of character, even for "Survivor." Here's what else is going on at HitFix today.

The comeback of "The Comeback" cleverly began exactly the same way as the first season, with a test pattern and an indication that we were seeing raw footage for a show called "The Comeback." Yet the show that followed was very different. Yes, it's still raw footage from a camera crew -- this time, a group of students Valerie Cherish is using to produce a pilot presentation for her own reality series -- but both Valerie and the series have changed. Most significantly, Valerie is in control. She's far less insecure and constantly troubled about how she'll appear to others, in part because she's the one controlling her film crew, however amateur they are. This time, if she makes that T with her hands, they really will time out and not use it ("My show, I can cut it"). Or at least, that's the way things appear now. It's a remarkable change for the character,...

Because of travel last week, I didn't get to do my "Survivor" recap until Friday and I didn't get to do my "Survivor" exit interview until Tuesday and I'm only posting it tonight, which probably means that I already need to remind people who Dale Wentworth even was. It's not that Dale didn't do interesting things. Kelley's father started fire with his glasses, orchestrated Nadiya's elimination by referencing "Amazing Race" precedent, bickered with Missy about rice and made a semi-valiant attempt to save his hide with the use of a Fake Immunity Idol. It's just that when "Survivor" moves on, it's sometimes hard to remember the people left behind. Fans are already on to being up-in-arms about this week's departed castaway and that unapologetic exit interview will be posting tomorrow. In my conversation with Dale we chatted about his difficulties swaying his tribe to focus on somebody else instead of him,...

We interrupt your regularly scheduled recap with a warning to the quintet of lovely brunettes who make up The X Factor Season 2 girl group Fifth Harmony: Do not stand too close to Khloé Kardashian Odom. She can sense your youth. She is beginning to feed off your effervescence. She has been instructed to assimilate you into the Kardashian collective.
With that housekeeping detail out of the way, we can now focus on the important business of Top 8 performance night: A world premiere “video” from “will.i.ann” (hey, that’s what Mario Lopez called him!) and a robot rendering of Britney Spears 2.0 (airbrushed into submission,...

Welcome to The X Factor, sponsored by Aleve — the long-acting analgesic with the power to ward off gale-force migraines caused by the pack of perpetually screeching harpies sitting in the first three rows of the audience.
It doesn’t matter what the Top 13 are singing. It doesn’t matter how the judges are reacting. It doesn’t matter if Demi Lovato can’t pronounce the names of the singers she’s mentoring. And it doesn’t even matter whether the producers fill Mario Lopez’s teleprompter with the script from Ken Burns’ Jazz or an announcement that a meteor is...

After creating buzz the minute it was added to NBC’s Fall TV schedule, The New Normal is finally airing and we can all see if the fuss it has stirred up was truly fuss-worthy. The gay community will undoubtedly form its own opinion, but what are critics – gay and straight - saying about the show?
AfterElton gathered some of the top TV voices in print and online to chat about the series and its stars (Andrew Rannells, Justin Bartha, Ellen Barkin, Georgia King, Bebe Wood and NeNe Leakes). Under discussion was what works in The New Normal pilot -- and what doesn’t --- and whether the the show's future is cloudy or bright.
Is The New Normal (and Andrew Rannels & Justin Bartha) worthy of a hello or a buh-bye?
Included in the roundtable, Laura Prudom (Associate Editor, HuffPost TV) and Dan Fienberg (Executive Editor, HitFix.com), both of whom happen to be straight,...

Christina Cha and Alicia Rosa took fourth and fifth place, respectively on "Survivor: One World" and while they may have started out pretty rough on the show, in their exit interview with Zap2it, the friendship was palpable.
Congratulations on the all-female Final 5. That was awesome.
Alicia: "I loved that throughout all the hot mess we had in the beginning and even at one point when Troy was trying to waver us from that plan, it just, to me, I just love the message and what came across. If we all stick together and we all just trust each other and work together, we can do something amazing."
Was "Survivor" everything you hoped it would be?
Christina: "Oh, absolutely. I never expected the turnout, of course. In my perfect world, how I would play it, it would be different. Who I was in the beginning of the game...

So what's next for the channel that has given us plenty of things that have gone bump in the night along with more CG monsters than anyone could possibly keep up with? Read on for details of Syfy's "upfront" presentation.
As you'd expect from a network named Syfy, several of these projects are more sci-fi than horror, but we thought we'd pass on all the news anyway:

On Sunday, Survivor: South Pacific comes to its conclusion. The season's been full of blindsides, big characters and some of the strangest strategic moves in recent memory (Ozzy asking to get voted out! Brandon handing over his immunity! Everything Cochran ever did!) Now there are six players left, three of whom will face the jury. The phrase "bitter jury" is redundant. All Survivor juries are bitter. They've seen their hopes for a million dollars and reality TV stardom crushed by the three people sitting before them. The question is - what are they bitter about? Juries all make their decisions on different criteria.

This year's Emmys telecast was produced by Mark Burnett of Survivor and Apprentice fame, and his reality show experience might have served him well as he staged a few truly memorable moments during the show. But there were a lot of misfires too.
One overarching problem: at times it felt like the show was actively insulting its audience. When the opening number and various time-wasting musical interludes by "The Emmytones" constantly referred to how vapid and mind numbing the medium is - you wind up feeling like a sucker for you know... watching it.
Also pretty much a total disaster: the trivia voiceovers every time a winner took the stage. Incredibly not funny, and also completely inappropriate when viewers are trying to cheer a winner they happen to be sentimental about.
But then there were some really clever moments during the ceremony: like when Amy Poehler jumped the gun and...
