The Voice is celebrating 25 seasons on NBC with the Season 25 finale, and it is remembering all the coaches who spun their chairs throughout the years.
Finale night started with a throwback performance from Og coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green, and Blake Shelton. The quartet performed Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy,” which Green co-wrote, during the premiere episode of The Voice back in 2011.
After the performance, host Carson Daly read the names of the coaches who have appeared on The Voice over the past 25 seasons.
Blake Shelton has been the longest-running coach, spinning his chair for 23 seasons. Adam Levine was featured as a coach for the show’s first 16 seasons. Christina Aguilera was a permanent fixture in the first three seasons. She would then take a break and return for three more seasons, in Seasons 5, 8, and 10.

It’s been 25 years since Choclair told us he likes “chillin’, ‘Monday Night Raw’ watching” on Rascalz’ legendary hit “Northern Touch”. And while a lot’s changed — smartphones, global warming, an impending AI apocalypse — some things remain exactly the same.
For one, the Toronto rapper is still a devout wrestling fan. We spend the first 10 minutes of our interview shooting the breeze about the latest WWE storylines. “I don’t want them to break up the Usos,” he insists. “Don’t break up that Bloodline movement!”

What’s more, Choclair still loves chilling. You can hear it all over “Bon Voyage”, his latest single in collaboration with DJ Alonso Mendez and Teria Morada. On the breezy, Latin-flavoured track, the “Let’s Ride” rapper stirs up a lyrical Mai Tai, spitting about kicking back anywhere from Whistler to Cancun.

As we noted earlier today, this season's cast of "Dancing With the Stars" has some great names, from whacked out NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and sex symbol Pamela Anderson to gold medalist Evan Lysacek and polarizing reality star Kate Gosselin. While MTV News has never formally endorsed a contestant on "Dancing With the Stars" (though last season we were torn between rooting for Mya and cheering on Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell), this time there's no doubt about it: We desperately want Buzz Aldrin to walk away victorious.
The 80-year-old former astronaut has had a surprisingly deep history with MTV. The image of Aldrin walking on the moon — an unprecedented feat he accomplished way back in 1969 — supplied inspiration for a lot of early MTV imagery. And of course, any time anybody wins a Video Music Award, they are honoring Aldrin, as he is the space traveler who inspired the Moonman trophy.

Next year @ the film experience I hope to look at shorts and DVDs more on account of easy access for all of you -- this year was so discouraging in how hard it was for anyone outside of NY & La to see the new releases I wanted keep talking about. Maybe next year we shoot for more accessibility.
[soapbox] I can't be the only one that's concerned that the movies --particularly the awards hopefuls -- are veering further and further away from the direction of general pop culture which is all about instant access. Why do the movies keep withholding? --no wonder Oscar ratings keep sinking. I think it's a far more complex problem than "the public doesn't like serious films". I think it's more a problem of "the public likes these movies less and it's really hard to see them even if you're interested in them". After all, who cultivates interest in something they have extremely little access too? Not many people, that's who. Anyway.... [/soapbox]

In support of her new song "T.O.N.Y.", Solange Knowles has premiered a Vashtie-directed music video, featuring cameos from Cee-Lo Green of Gnarls Barkley and Kid Cudi. In the black-and-white music video, she is seen going down the stairs and walking straight through the streets. Her slow walk eventually becomes a hurried run with a couple of men and women following her from behind.
"T.O.N.Y." is a song narrating about a consequence of stepping into a one-night-stand relationship. The track comes off Solange's second studio album "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams", which has come out in North America since August 26 via Music World and Geffen Records.
"By the end of the project [Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams], I had worked with all of the producers and artists I had ever dreamed of including Q-Tip, Boards of Canada, and Mark Ronson ..." Solange said referring to the recording process of the effort.

"Mystery Man" is a non-album track which will appear on the band's "Who's Gonna Save My Soul [Ep]". Speaking of the song itself, the band said, "It's a song we weren't sure what to do with. We didn't know how to finish it, but we still liked what we had. It's half instrumental and half vocals."
The band's forthcoming Ep is due out on November 11 in the U.S. via Atlantic Records. It will list four different versions of song "Who's Gonna Save My Soul" including its original version, demo version, instrumental version, and audio version of MTV's "52 Bands". When eliminated on the season 3 of "American Idol", Jennifer Hudson stepped out with an exit speech, saying that something big out there had been waiting for her. "I don't know when or where or how, but God has something in store for me," she said at that time.
Two years later she proved it by landing the part of Effie White in a musical film called "Dreamgirls" along side other big names such as Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles, and Eddie Murphy. The song, "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going", that she performed on the movie, has been praised as "five mellifluous, molto vibrato minutes". Also as Effie White who sang the tune, Jennifer won Golden Globe Award as Best Actress in a Supporting Role. In addition, she won Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her big screen debut performance.

The Wackness
Starring Ben Kingsley, Josh Peck, and Olivia Thirlby
Directed by Jonathan Levine
Rated R
Sometimes it's the strangest relationships that can be the most rewarding. Felix and Oscar, Harold and Maude, Martin and Lewis, Laurel and Hardy, Gnarls Barkley. The Wackness provides us the most dysfunctional friendship of 2008, but it's one the characters and the audience are both the better for exploring.
Recent high school graduate Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck) attends therapy sessions with Dr. Squires (Ben Kingsley). At the end of each session, Luke pays his doctor with dime bags of pot. It's a win-win situation; Luke gets the help he seeks and gains a customer, and Dr. Squires gets the high he wants and, for 45 minutes, a friend he needs.
Squires lives a pretty vacant life. He's in a loveless marriage (to Famke Janssen) and he doesn't get along very well with his step-daughter Stephanie (Olivia Thirlby from Juno). Luke,...

A massive helium balloon of DreamWorks' "Kung Fu Panda", flew high above Grauman's Chinese Theatre at the film's Los Angeles premiere Sunday Morning.
In front of the theater, Jack Black, who voiced panda Po, and Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo got the celebration going, singing the film's rendition of "Kung Fu Fighting".
"Having Jack Black as the voice of Po has been genuinely magic." DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said. "I don't know that there's ever been a better marriage between an actor-comedian and a piece of animation. It's right up there with Donkey and Eddie (Murphy in the 'Shrek' films)."
The Asian-themed, family-friendly premiere covered a block of Hollywood Boulevard and featured a breakfast buffet as well as activities named for characters from the film such as "Tigress' dance class" and "Viper's Chinese charms".
Helmers John Stevenson and Mark Osborne explained that the film is about self-empowerment.
"Trust that you have everything inside of you to succeed," Stevenson said. "It doesn't matter what your shape is or what your background is."
Added Osborne with a smile: "It doesn't matter if you've never made an animated feature film before for a giant studio with a huge, million-dollar premiere.

LONDON -- EMI Group chairman Guy Hands has made a bid for U.K. independent music group Chrysalis, Billboard understands.
The London Times and Reuters today report that there have also been rival indicative bids from Warner Chappell and Sony/ATV, as well as interest from several private equity funds and music publishers.
Chrysalis founder and chairman Chris Wright announced a review of the business last year, which could result in the sale of the company.
Chrysalis' music publishing arm has the rights to artists including David Bowie, Gnarls Barkley and Athlete, and it recently signed a worldwide deal with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr. Chrysalis also owns the Echo label and the international wholesale distribution business Lasgo Chrysalis.
The company sold its radio business last July for 170 million pounds ($340) in order to focus on its music companies. Last month Chrysalis said it was in preliminary discussions with "select parties" which could lead to an offer. Shares in Chrysalis today increased by almost 11%.

Dixie Chicks triumphed over their critics, Mary J. Blige played comeback queen and Red Hot Chili Peppers reasserted their rock dominance Sunday at the 49th annual Grammy Awards, held at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Chicks won five awards, including record and song of the year for "Not Ready to Make Nice" and album of the year for "Taking the Long Way". Blige won best R&B song and best female R&B vocal performance for "Be Without You" and best R&B album for "The Breakthrough".
"Make Nice", which the Chicks performed live during the show, references the fallout the group endured after singer Natalie Maines spoke out against President Bush at a 2003 concert in England. The song, which trumped hits from Blige, Gnarls Barkley, Corinne Bailey Rae and James Blunt to win record of the year, was shunned by country radio but set the tone for the hit album "Long Way".
"For the first time in my life, I'm speechless," Maines said with a laugh while accepting song of the year. The Chicks got the last laugh later in the evening, when "Long Way" won best country album. "A lot of people just turned their TVs off right now," she said.
Chicks went a perfect 5-for-5 on the night and bring their Grammy total to 13. Chicks' record, song and album of the year trifecta is the first time since Norah Jones in 2002 that anyone has swept the categories.
Blige went in as the leading nominee with eight but was shut out of the major categories; her wins Sunday doubled her Grammy total to six. "This is the first time I've ever been up here to receive anything," she said onstage, holding back tears. "For so many years I had been talked about negatively, but this time, I've been talked about positively by so many people." Later, she added, "Success exposes who you really are.

NEW YORK -- Warner Music Group posted a narrowed fiscal third-quarter loss on reduced costs and better-than-expected revenue gains thanks to digital growth and hot titles from such acts as Gnarls Barkley and Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, shares of WMG declined 0.4% on Thursday to $23.23 as some on Wall Street expressed disappointment that chairman and CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr. said that any deal talks with EMI Group are off the table until European regulators' sentiments become clear. Any further discussions wouldn't happen "until matters become clearer," he said. He added later that the EMI talks did not distract his management team. In trading Friday, shares closed at $23.12.

Carmen Electra has sparked rumors she is dating Miami Vice star Jamie Foxx, after they were spotted leaving a New York City gig through the backdoor this week. The former Baywatch beauty announced her split from rocker husband Dave Navarro only last week, but she is already getting up close to Oscar winner Foxx at a secret Gnarls Barkley show at the Big Apple's Element venue. A source tells PageSix.com, "Jamie's arm was around Carmen More than once and whispers were exchanged several times. No one saw them kissing, but they left together out the back. It seemed like they were out on a date."...
