Update: Tanya Roberts’ publicist confirms the actress passed away Monday night. Read here for more.
Following the news that “A View to a Kill” and “That ’70s Show” star Tanya Roberts is still very much alive despite her publicist saying she died on Sunday, many stars and social media users reacted with disbelief — and gratitude.
“Very happy to hear that Tanya Roberts is still alive. But what other crazy surprises does 2021 have in store for us?” William Shatner wrote on Twitter.
“Happily, Tanya Roberts is like democracy,” screenwriter Billy Ray wrote. “We only Thought it was dead.”
“The Bachelor” producer Mike Fleiss took the opportunity to plug his own show, which begins a new season on Monday night. “If you think Tanya Roberts being alive is shocking, wait til you see tonight’s season premiere of #TheBachelor,” he tweeted.
“That ’70s Show” star Topher Grace initially mourned Roberts’ death in a heartfelt Twitter post.

If you're still reeling from the destruction that happened during "Sons of Anarchy's" latest episode, "The Mad King," creator Kurt Sutter and members of the cast can talk you through it in the latest "Anarchy Afterword." Beware the spoilers that follow, though.
In the online post-show, which runs about 45 minutes, Sutter admits that nothing in the show is sacred, as is evidenced by the clubhouse being bombed. He says the moment actually dates back to Season 2, when a car bomb exploded in the Teller Morrow parking lot, hospitalizing Chibs (Tommy Flanagan).
Sutter is joined by Flanagan and Theo Rossi (Juice), along with celebrity superfan Retta ("Parks and Recreation") for the episode, hosted by Chris Franjola. In addition to the explosion, the panel talks about their individual characters, what's to come and they share some fun behind the scenes stories. The "Sons of Anarchy" online post-show has announced the guest lineup for its second episode, which will air after "The Mad King." "Chelsea Lately's" Chris Franjola returns as host, along with creator Kurt Sutter, Theo Rossi (Juice) and Tommy Flanagan (Chibs) from the show.
The celebrity superfan for this outing is "Parks and Recreation" star Retta, who will join the panel to discuss what goes down in the episode. The series will air three times total, after key episodes of "Sons of Anarchy" Season 6.
The timing is interesting. If "Wolfsangel" wasn't a key episode but "The Mad King" is, what on earth could be happening to the club that's bigger than the death's in the last episode?

If you can't wait to get a taste of the Season 6 premiere of "Sons of Anarchy," your time has come. Three video clips have been released from "Straw," which reveal quite a bit about where the characters are as the season begins.
In the first, Gemma (Katey Sagal) welcomes Juice (Theo Rossi) home. You may recall at the end of Season 5, Juice was very useful in helping frame Clay (Ron Perlman) for the murder of Damon Pope (Harold Perrineau). The second clip is a personal moment between Unser (Dayton Callie) and Gemma. While their relationship was always very close in the past, something has definitely changed, with Gemma emotionally blocking herself off.
The action comes in the third clip, when Jax (Charlie Hunnam), Nero (Jimmy Smits) and the club find a warehouse with women locked in cages. When the guys running the show don't take kindly to Jax's warning to...

Fans of "Sons of Anarchy" now have one more thing to look forward to when the new season begins. Three key episodes will be accompanied by a post-show with creator Kurt Sutter, celebrity fans and select cast members, called "Anarchy Afterword."
Sutter broke the news himself in his latest "Wtf Sutter" video blog, admitting he was probably ruining a press release that would be coming. The show will be hosted by "Chelsea Lately" regular Chris Franjola.

It seems the trend of airing post-episode talk shows after a popular cable drama is far from coming to an end. FX has announced it will be following in the steps of AMC and producing a talk show to follow new episodes of Sons of Anarchy’s sixth season. The only difference between what FX is doing and what AMC has already found success in is FX won’t be throwing nearly as much money at the production, which, to me, seems a quick way to ensure this venture doesn’t take off. But I could be wrong. This might be even more successful than other talks shows.
According to THR, the Sons of Anarchy talk show, called Anarchy Afterword, will only be airing after three episodes of Season 6. All three episodes will be 30-minute installments, airing after the 90-minute season premiere, Episode 5, and the season finale. They will air...

Our friends over at E! sent us this clip from next Monday's episode of After Lately which features lesbian comedian Fortune Feimster confronting Kevin Nealon about hitting her car in the parking lot... and accidentally showing him her sex photos in the process. "Looks like you have someone in a scissor lock," says Nealon. "Are you cage fighting?"
Everything about Feimster (name/appearance/line delivery) is hilarious-- this woman needs to be a bigger star.
[logo_video_player|video_id=890858|width=540|height=350]
In addition to Nealon, this episode also features a a guest appearance by Kate Beckinsale who guilts Chelsea Handler into doing a juice cleanse. Of course, Chelsea forces her staff to do it with her and everyone's at each other’s throats due to hunger by day two. They resort to discussing, if it came down to it, who would eat Chris Franjola’s penis.
After Lately airs Monday at 10:30pm on E!

She’s always been a fan of kooky antics, and Chelsea Handler is up to her old tricks on a new sneak preview of “After Lately” Season Three.
The 37-year-old comedienne dressed up as Lady Gaga for a new sketch, though she definitely seemed less-than-excited about the ordeal.
Handler declared, “Let’s get this over with because I’m not wearing this for long. What am I doing?” while clad in an outrageous getup complete with hair bow wig.
Director Chris Franjola fires back, “I don’t know what we’re doing. You sent me an e-mail at 2:00 in the morning. It said, ‘Divas, Cher, Gaga.’ This is what I came up with.”
Of her meat dress, Chelsea complains, "There's meat everywhere. You can't smell it? Let's hurry up. It's disgusting. I have prosciutto in my ears."...

Perhaps as a primer for his character on "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23," James Van Der Beek played a fictional version of himself on "After Lately" (Sun., 11 p.m. Est on E!). The partially improvised show features parodies of all of its characters, but Van Der Beek has come to make a name for himself lately by playing essentially himself.
He's becoming famous for being himself in the same way that Adam West and David Hasselhoff have before him. It's something he seems to have embraced, and can make incredibly entertaining.
When he discovered Chris Franjola was wearing the same shirt at him, he said, "If you had a show named 'Franjola's Creek,' you can wear the shirt."
Chelsea Handler solved the dilemma by throwing food all over Franjola's shirt, making the decision for Van Der Beek, but it's pretty clear he wasnt going to change. The hits kept coming,...

Sass, skepticism and smarm are the trademarks of Chelsea Handler, America.s fiercest little late night host. "After Lately" is a a 'Larry Sanders'-ized approach to what a fan might imagine the behind-the-scenes are for the sardonic E! host, but unfortunately for E!, Sunday night is the fiercest little night in all of TV programming. Premiering tonight, Sunday night at 11 on E!, .After Lately.. is a send up sitcom filmed 'Office' style of writer situations, fan situations and a cast of characters that include Jeff Wild, Chris Franjola, Brad Wollack, Heather McDonald and the fan favorite, Handler aide-de-camp, Chuy Bravo. .After Lately.. is a mockumentary series that follows Handler and her staff as they plan and execute the nightly E!

Tonight we have the return of football (even if it's only preseason football) and the months long passive aggressive comment war between the people who love football and the people who don't care for it much but insist on informing us that they don't care for it much Every Single Time it comes up. Listen, I get it. Some of you aren't football people and that's cool. We all have our preferences. Me? I hate mushrooms. And coconut. However, the football season is long and it only seems longer if you take every opportunity to remind us that you don't like football, usually in a way that implies that it somehow makes you smarter or culturally superior. Unless you can figure out a really clever way to say it, in which case dive right in. I will enjoy wit over originality any day. Here's your Thursday night TV:

Chelsea Handler used a New York Times article about Judge Judy Sheindlin's astronomical salary as a jumping off point for some laughs on 'Chelsea Lately' (weeknights, 11Pm Et on E!). According to the report, Judge Judy makes $45 million a year, a bafflingly gigantic figure to Handler and her roundtable of comedians Bobby Lee, Arden Myrin, and Chris Franjola.
Handler observed that Sheindlin's salary, "is more than Jay Leno and David Letterman make combined, which is hard to believe. But she only works five days a month, so she makes 865,000 dollars a day."

Over here in Rusty-land it's one of those Wednesday that seems to be taking forever but at the same time every so often I'll look up at the clock and be like "wait, it's what time now? Crap." I find this to be a particular problem with Wednesdays, perhaps because of the transition from first half of the week to second half of the week at least if you're going by the standard Monday to Friday week schedule. Although perhaps I should be more upbeat since according to today's xkcd Wednesday is frequently Ladies' night. Oh, right, there's also some television going on. A few of those reality series that some of you adore, so that's cool. So, here's your Wednesday night TV, which will be on both forever from now and sooner than I think it will:

Good new, everybody! Well, maybe not for everybody but for some of you anyway! Misery night has returned! Yes, now you can spend your summer evenings watching hoarders and addicts fight with their families, tell heartbreaking stories of abandonment and abuse, frustratingly resist help, and finally show some small amount of progress such that you get your hopes up for them before finally realizing that most of these people will backslide within a month or two. Aren't you thrilled!?! I'm sure there are those of you who are, either because you like the show or because watching "Hoarders" keeps your apartment/house in tip-top shape because watching it gives you the screaming heebies. Here's your Monday night TV:

Last night one of you lovely readers out there caught a proofreading mistake I'd made in the column and pointed it out. Now, it's not unusual that I make slight spelling or grammar mistakes so I want all of you to know that please, feel free to let me know if you catch one. You can mention it in the comments or email me because I'm terrible at proofreading things I've written and am happy to fix them if they're really irking you. Most of the time. I've found that some of my spelling mistakes end up making things more amusing for all of us so some of them I just leave alone even if I know they're there. So, with that said, here's your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: "The Bachelorette" on ABC
"Basketball Wives" on VH1
"Last Man Standing" on Lifetime. Original Telefilm.
"Mastercheif" on Fox. Second season premiere.

I hope those of you (Americans) who get Memorial day weekend off have lovely plans this weekend for picnics, grilling, bbqs, pool time, beach time, or maybe just shutting all your curtains turning your phone off and getting some sleep. Really, it's all about what you consider fun. It's also the official beginning of summer, which means nothing to me because it's been hot and humid for about the last month and before that the temperature hasn't gotten below the 70's since February. Still! For those of you who get to see this weekend as the weekend that reminds you that your world will slowly thaw and warm and bloom again, I hope you have a blast with that. And that all of us take a few moments to remember the soldiers this holiday is dedicated to and the recent victims of tornados who aren't going to be planning parties for a long time.

Tonight features the reality shows of Sinbad, Toni Braxton and Family, and Toya who is... famous for apparently one single from 2001. I'm beginning to question the qualifications for having your own reality series, seems like back in the day you had to at least pop out an extraordinary number of babies to get a camera crew to follow your every movement. Now not having any sort of notable career for the last decade seems to be the new benchmark, unless you're in Miami when that's just a reason to run for Mayor. (Seriously.) I'm not mad at these people for getting their own shows, good on them for managing to get a paycheck on a name that hasn't been news in years, I'm just wondering what audience is like "You know what I really want to see? A show about Sinbad's family. That would be just perfect." If you are...

Not that I should have to tell most of you the big TV news tonight but just in case; tonight is the season two finale for "Justified" so all of you out there who love you some Raylan Givens (I consulted IMDb for the correct spelling of that name since I've seen like three different versions in the comments) are going to be very sad for a while. I missed the beginning so I've got season 1 in my Netflix queue now and only recently (like, today, when I consulted IMDb) became aware that Jacob Pitts of EuroTrip fame is on this series which makes it extra intriguing to me because I love that movie so much that "Scotty Doesn't Know" was my ringtone for almost a year. And will be again, once I get around to putting it on my new phone. Anyway, here's your Wednesday night TV:

I've been writing this column for... I don't know, like a year and a half now? And I still don't have a handle on how television schedules work which is kind of alarming. Like, "Grey's Anatomy." The most recent new episode aired on March 31st and there's not a new one scheduled until next week. There was another month long break between new episodes from February 24th to March 24th. Now, this isn't my favorite show by a long shot, but it's a show that I watch sometimes if I don't have something better to do on Thursdays and usually keep up with on Hulu on slow Fridays or over the weekend but I still find it incredibly frustrating that there's these weird gaps in the airing schedule. I can't imagine how annoying it must be for people who are really invested in the show. Oh, and Happy Easter to everyone celebrating this weekend!

Elizabeth Taylor died today and that's sad in that somewhat disconnected way that celebrity deaths tend to be. There's very few celebrities I feel strongly enough about that when they die I feel genuinely shocked or upset; they more exist somewhere in the abstract realm where you know of them, you know what they do, what they wear, and what they sound like, who they've married and/or dated, etc., but you've never met them or interacted with them and their death won't affect your life in any significant way. However, Ms.Taylor was loved by many people who will surely miss her and they have my condolences. Here's your Wednesday night TV:

I've spent a good portion of today half convinced it was Thursday. I'm sure this happens to everyone now and again, the persistent feeling that it's a different day than it really is, but seeing as how I'm going out of town on Thursday and I haven't even finished packing yet this particular bit of cognitive dissonance is more confusing than usual and is causing me the occasional mild panic until I remember that it's not freaking Thursday and I maybe need some more coffee. This is similar to those times that I wake up from a dream where I slept through my alarm by hours only to realize that it's still dark out and I begin to wonder if my brain is driving me crazy and then I think "how can one's own brain drive them crazy?" and then I realize that my brain can totally tell I'm onto its plan.

Welcome to Monday evening! There's really no good news about it except for the fact that if you're reading this you survived Monday and frankly sometimes that's enough. Personally, I'm not done yet because I have laundry to attend to and yes I know I could've done it over the weekend but I'm sure the other apartment dwellers who contend with community laundry rooms can back me up on the fact that the weekend (particularly Sunday) is the worst time to do your laundry. Sunday is apparently the day everyone wakes up and realizes they've got nothing to wear but blood drive tee shirts and workout pants bought in a fit of enthusiasm and hope over New Year's Eve that still have the tags attached. If you can somehow make it over into Monday (in jeans that are slightly too small with holes in places you hope no one is...

Part of late night show Chelsea Lately’s appeal is the seeming lack of effort involved by the people producing it: Chelsea Handler has a hard time reading the prompter and knows it, Chuy the Nugget recites poorly written jokes but makes them funny by mangling them, and the roundtable comedians acknowledge that they’re part of something delightfully slapdash. To me, the show is best when I put as little effort in watching it–it works well as background noise while I’m cleaning, reading a magazine, or playing Angry Birds. Anyone who watches "Chelsea Lately" knows a few things about it's host:
1. She hates redheads
2. She often berates her staff on the air
3. She's absolutely f-in' hysterical
Also hysterical, are the writers who help make her show a success. Now with E!'s new Sunday night show, "After Lately," we get to see even more of the crew behind Chelsea Handler.
Zap2it caught up with Chris Franjola and Brad Wollack, who often appear on the "Chelsea Lately" round-table and will play prominent roles in the new "After Lately." We asked them about their first interactions with the funny lady and what it's really like to work in that office.

Any show that starts off with the phrase "This is my staff. They're idiots," is alright by us. And we certainly wouldn't expect anything less from the team behind Chelsea Handler's hit late-night show, "Chelsea Lately."
"After Lately" premieres this Sunday (Mar. 6) on E! and gives us a peek into the "Chelsea Lately" offices, which are clearly not for the faint of heart.
Show writers Brad Wollack and Chris Franjola, who also star on the new show and often sit on the "Chelsea Lately" round-table, tell Zap2it that the semi-scripted comedy could be considered "groundbreaking."
"Not to toot my own horn, but it's really funny," Franjola tells us. "I don't like to use the term groundbreaking, but... no one's done anything like this before."
Each show will follow a 30-minute story arc in which the staff-members reenact some of the craziest behind-the-scenes shenanigans that they've encountered over the years.
