Tennis star Justine Pearce and elite coach Glenn Lapthorn, the lead characters in new Prime Video series Fifteen-Love, are works of fiction. Their story is not. After decades of silence and whispers, allegations of predatory sexual behaviour and abuse perpetrated by tennis coaches on young players are finally being voiced, and the consequences finally being felt.
In the new British TV drama, 24-year-old newcomer Ella Lily Hyland is outstanding as Justine, a physiotherapist whose promising tennis career ended at age 17, following an injury. 40-year-old Aidan Turner plays her former private coach Glenn, a married father of two whom Justine reports to the police for multiple counts of historical sexual assault. Glenn denies any wrongdoing, calling Justine a fantasist harbouring a bitter grudge. What really happened in the run-up to the 2018 French Open tournament unspools over six tense episodes.

As an avid Wimbledon fan, Kate Middleton is no stranger to the thrill of the courts. However, there’s a lesser-known tale of a blush-worthy incident that involves none other than her own father at the prestigious tennis event.
Kate felt rather red-faced after the episode, as her father navigated an awkward encounter with tennis great Tim Henman. Despite feeling embarrassed, Kate hasn’t stopped returning to Wimbledon as one of the tournament’s biggest fans.

Kate, a steadfast presence at Wimbledon, frequently shows up to cheer on British tennis talents. But sometimes, bringing her family into the public eye doesn’t pan out as smoothly as the mother of three would hope.
According to Express, one memorable instance involved her 74-year-old father, Michael Middleton, who found himself in a slightly awkward situation when introduced to ex-world champion Tim Henman.

What’s a wedding reception without “Shout?”
Newlyweds Pippa Middleton and James Matthews celebrated their nuptials at a lavish reception at the Middleton family estate in Bucklebury, England, on Saturday.
While Prince William and Kate Middleton were driven to the Middleton home in a Land Rover early in the evening, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were flown back to Kensington Palace in a helicopter with their nanny, Maria. The cute siblings stole the show at the ceremony at St. Mark’s Church on the Englefield Estate in the English county of Berkshire, then attended a champagne reception at the estate before retiring for the night.

Get Your Own Back Live, Knightmare, Chloe from 24 and a bit of GroupOn? Jenny and Alex have been to the Fringe...
We've just spent a week at the Edinburgh Fringe, where we devoted equal amounts of time to eating, tutting and refusing leaflets. In between this, we managed to fit some shows in.
We're going to talk about some of these shows here, instead of telling you about the thousands of hipsters we encountered. Seriously, guy doing “street typing” on a typewriter – no thanks.
Get Your Own Back Live!
I'll cut to the chase here – being in the audience for Get Your Own Back Live was the most fun I've had since I was born. And I'm counting that time I found a bottle of mystery booze in a hedge.
The show is a pretty faithful (if cheaper and more self-aware) version of the original.

Andy Murray recorded his 42nd win at Wimbledon yesterday (June 30), and also marked his 10th year at the biggest tennis tournament in the world.
There have been many stories of triumph, tears and tantrums since making his debut as a gawky teenager in 2005, peaking at his incredible win eight years later in July 2013. Here's a look back at his decade of putting us through the emotional wringer each summer.
2005
Result: Third round
Hair level: Scruffy but short
The year after triumphing at the Junior Us Open, Murray had won his first senior matches at Queens just two weeks before his first Grand Slam. It was truly the changing of the guard as Tim Henman lost in the second round, the first time he failed to get to the second week since 1995.
Despite the presence of Sean Connery in the crowd, Murray's inexperience wasn't enough to beat David Nalbandian in a thrilling five-setter.

Andy Murray wed girlfriend Kim Sears on Saturday. The couple tied the knot in Andy's hometown of Dunblane, Scotland. After exchanging vows at a 12th-century cathedral, they were cheered on by family, friends, and a large crowd of fans. The bride beamed in her bespoke Jenny Packham gown, which was hand-embroidered and featured Swarovski crystals, and she was flanked by bridesmaids in long pink dresses by the same designer. Meanwhile, the groom paid homage to his heritage in a traditional kilt. The guest list included British tennis player Tim Henman; Andy's mom, tennis coach, and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Judy Murray; and Andy's brother and fellow tennis pro, Jamie Murray. Following the ceremony, the group moved on to a reception at Cromlix House, Andy's country hotel. Andy popped the big question in November after a long-term courtship that started in 2005. It’s the end of the day and we’re tired and just want to laugh and cure cancer. Fortunately for us, we can do both by watching this two part video for Stand Up To Cancer UK (and then clicking on the link to donate money). In the videos, every geek girl’s favorite comedian/actor/director, Richard Ayoade, and maybe a few geek girls’ favorite tennis player, Andy Murray, audition a variety of celebrities for various roles in a biopic about Andy’s life. Michael Sheen, Andy Serkis, Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran, and Britney Spears all appear, as do a slew of celebrities that you might need to be an anglophile to recognize. Dara Ó Briain! Noel Fielding! Dynamo!? Tim Henman…?
The whole thing is very fun, and Murray is a really good sport about all the shots Ayoade takes at him. And of course, Ayoade is his usual delightful self.

Pharrell Williams, Michael Sheen and Dynamo are among the stars 'auditioning' to play British tennis number one Andy Murray in a new Stand Up to Cancer skit.

As auditionees try to impersonate the 27-year-old with varying success, the It Crowd actor assesses their likeness while Murray peppers the criticism with self-depreciating comments.
Footballer Cesc Fabregas takes a dig at Murray by claiming he heard the casting call was for "the tennis world's biggest star" and assumed he was going to play Rafa Nadal, whereas Dara O Briain claims he misread the advert after aping The Pub Landlord, Al Murray.
The sketch is the first of two comedy clips featuring the tennis star that were recorded for the charity telethon.

In the 10 years that have passed since the romantic comedy Wimbledon was released, Great Britain has finally crowned a British champion in Andy Murray.
At the time of its release, Tim Henman was the UK's biggest hope, but it had got to the point where we were so desperate to see a British champion, we had to make a movie about it just so we can pretend what it's actually like.
I say 'we', but the film was actually written by two Americans and a Canadian, and that does explain a lot when it comes to classic British stereotypes and fantastical depictions of London. However, it was directed by a Brit, Richard Loncraine.
The movie shows just how highly regarded and romanticised the Wimbledon Tennis Championships are around the world. It's hard to imagine a similar film titled French Open.

The broadcaster brought us every single golden moment, didn't fluff any of its lines, and allowed its best presenter talent to react with emotion and sensitivity to each occasion.
Andy Murray's victory at Wimbledon on Sunday afternoon was another incredible British sporting moment. As he served for the final game, the TV ratings were astronomical, and that doesn't even take into account the thousands in pubs and parks across the country.
However, unlike Murray's perfect forehand and unbeatable backhand, the BBC's Wimbledon coverage felt shaky.
John Inverdale's blundering remarks about Marion Bartoli on Radio 5 Live were the biggest crime, but the heat directed at the commentator has actually distracted attention away from the cracks elsewhere in the BBC presentation.

The rebranding of sulky-drawers Murray got off to an unpromising start, while a timely reminder of workhouse inhumanities made powerful viewing

Andy Murray - The Man Behind the Racquet seemed to be part of the ongoing drive to reframe Murray, from number two-seeded, Us Open-winning, sulky-drawers face-ache, to someone, well, nicer, or at least more marketable.
Presented by Sue Barker in the wistful preoccupied way of a woman who finds it hard to forget how fine Jimmy Connors once looked in his tight white shorts, it wasn't entirely unconvincing. Though I'm still not persuaded that crying because you've lost a Wimbledon final means you're any "nicer" than you were before you became publicly emotionally incontinent. Nor am I convinced that...

A man stands at one end of the court, sweat dripping, heart pounding, at 40-15 up against the defending champion. That man, none other than Britain’s Andy Murray. Is the 76 year wait over? Is this the moment he makes history? He serves, Novak Djokovic attacks, but what’s that you say? The ball is long? It is, the ball goes long, Andy Murray is the Us Open champion.
For years and years, Britain waited, through the generations of players that have come and gone, ones that have gotten close and others not so much. As a young boy, I got into tennis in the years of Tim Henman, and he was the name on any person’s lips but not now, now it is time for Murray mania.
In 2005, Andy Murray burst onto the scene after being handed a wildcard for Wimbledon. He was ranked 312th, but he became...

It seems to be the same old story with British incumbants when it comes to tennis. One good player arises, and the hopes of a nation are thrust upon their shoulders. This was the case with Tim Henman. The years went by and the phrase that kills would always crop up. ‘It’s going to be his year’. No, no it will not be. It never was. The weight of expectation constantly saw him succum to the pressure, and fall at the final hurdle. If, like the majority of British people, your tennis calender only includes Wimbledon and you believe that tennis stops following this and nothing happened before it, then this would usually be at the semi-final stage.
For Andy Murray, it appears that his achilles heel is (or was) Grand Slam finals. Before his loss to 7-time champion Roger Federer in the Wimbledon final this year, he had...

A 1999 demo promoting the ruinously expensive Shenmue (called “What’s Shenmue?”) featured an exclusive scene in which then company president Yukawa-san could be seen slumped at his desk, head in hands, surrounded by piles of unsold consoles (above). Deep down, Sega must have known the Dreamcast didn’t stand a chance even before they axed it two years later.
Even though the Sega Dreamcast enjoyed a relatively short lifespan (officially somewhere between its 1998 Japanese launch and late 2002 termination) and wasn’t supported at all by the most powerful publisher of the day (Electronic Arts) the well-loved machine still boasts an impressive library of titles.
Even extending this “best of” list, from the originally planned 10 to a whopping 30 games, has seen me leave out such gems as cult top-down shooter Ikaruga, well-regarded sports sim NHL 2K2, online deathmatch game Outtrigger, stylish BioWare-made shooter MDK2 and Street Fighter III: Double Impact (to...

The summer of 2008 – happy days for Russell T Davies. Or should that be Lord Rusty Of Daviestown OBE, given that in mid-June it was announced that he would be joining the august ranks of Tim Henman, Bill Oddie and Sir James Of Savile by being appointed to the order of the British empire. Clearly whoever decides these things had not been watching New Earth that day.
Still, the cynics were out in force, given that at the time, Rusty's last written Who contribution was Partners In Crime , a story that's not regarded with the warmest welcome from fans (although I rather like it). So the day after the announcement of the OBE, his next writing assignment was due to be broadcast. Would this be another Last Of The Time Lords fiasco?
Well, as luck would have it, Davies, over the course of the next two weeks, would produce two of...

Though famed (and feisty) Wimbledon champ John McEnroe was never a favorite among the Brits, his projection appears as a ghost at this museum. Considering, however, that McEnroe is still very much alive, we imagine he's somewhere shouting, "You cannot be serious!"

Tucked away on High Street, this secluded hotel and bar caters to high-profile visitors like Andy Roddick.

It’s impressive really, that Top Spin has been able to muscle its way onto gaming’s Centre Court over the years.
Virtua Tennis, since its very first incarnation, has managed to bottle the irresistibly entertaining lightning captured within what is – for all intents and purposes – Pong on Steroids.
So 12 years after its not-too-shabby debut, what else is there to bring to the table?
Well with new technology comes a whole host of shiny add-ons designed to tempt you into parting with your cash above and beyond the consistently enjoyable, eternally reliable tennis mechanic.
Yip, Virtua Tennis 4 comes with 3D TV compatibility and motion controller support – so with a boldly stated ‘Better With Kinect’ strapline plastered across the front of the box (and Playstation Move functionality for the PS3 fans), it certainly has a lot to live up to.
As all good British Tennis fans are preternaturally braced for disappointment anyway,...

Celebrating their big achievements, Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal were the guests of honor at a London dinner party on Sunday night (July 4).
The tennis stars were all dressed up as they attended the 2010 Wimbledon Gala Dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel.
Also on hand for the swanky soiree were Tim Henman and his wife Lucy Heald, Annabel Croft, Vania King, John Inverdale and Cliff Richard, among many others.
The party was held after Miss Williams easily won the women's championship on Saturday over Vera Zvonareva by a score of 6-3, 6-2.
Meanwhile, Mr Nadal claimed the men's title on Sunday morning over Tomas Berdych in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4.

Remember last year's seven-hour final at Wimbledon? Never again.
As the tennis world switches this week from baguettes to strawberries and cream in anticipation of Wimbledon, the sport is abuzz with several tantalizing questions. Is Roger Federer the greatest player of all time? Better than rival Rafael Nadal? Better than Rod "Rocket" Laver? Will Nadal's knee trouble prevent him from defending his Wimbledon title? And this: Is Wimbledon without rain delays still Wimbledon?
Thanks to a new retractable roof designed by Populous (formerly Hok Sport), there will never be another final like last year's epic Nadal-Federer showdown. Three rain delays. Huge momentum shifts. Seven hours of drama. Play after 9pm. It all added up to arguably the greatest men's final in Wimbledon history. "Shower & the Glory," The Mail dubbed Nadal's upset.
There's no question that the new Centre Court roof is a technological marvel. It can unfold over the grass...
