Art the Clown is making his return to theaters nationwide with Terrifier 3 on October 11, 2024, and Bloody Disgusting can confirm that a horror legend has joined the slasher sequel.
Makeup effects master Tom Savini will be making an appearance in director Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3, which Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting are bringing to the big screen!
Tom Savini’s work has long been a huge source of inspiration for Leone, whose Terrifier movies are of course loaded with the kind of practical effects-driven brutality that Savini helped pioneer. From the very first arrival of Jason Voorhees on screen in the original Friday the 13th to the splatter effects in horror classics including Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead, Savini is one of the all-time great masters in the world of special makeup effects, elevating the art of horror movie gore and paving the way for all...

Popcorn buckets are all the rage right now with several sparking controversy, including this gem for Dune: Part Two. Studios continue to push the envelope with rumors that the bucket for Deadpool & Wolverine will be nothing short of “intentionally crude and lewd,” teased Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. But what about horror?
Horror fans hope to see a Terrifier popcorn bucket available in theaters nationwide when Terrifier 3 releases this fall. Over the weekend, a hardcore fan launched a petition to raise awareness for a potential Terrifier 3 popcorn bucket. I immediately fantasized about eating pink popcorn out of Art the Clown’s head.
What would you want to see out of a Terrifier popcorn bucket? Damien Leone and Phil Falcone’s third film is Christmas-themed so I’m sure there’s no shortage of cool ideas.

Huge news for fans of old-school horror as Bloody Disgusting and Screambox have acquired U.S rights to one of my favorite horror films of the year, Here for Blood, an over-the-top gory and insanely fun home invasion slasher that’s no doubt going to gain cult status.
The news was first reported by JoBlo over the weekend.
Directed by Daniel Turres, Here for Blood follows a down-on-his-luck wrestler (Shawn Roberts; Albert Wesker in the Resident Evil films) and his girlfriend (Joelle Farrow) who are having a hard time making ends meet. When his girlfriend finds herself overwhelmed by exams, muscle-bound wrestler Tom O’Bannon steps in to cover one of her babysitting gigs.
But his chill night of junk food and video games quickly takes a turn for the cult-ish when the home is invaded by a gang of mask-wearing maniacs. Isolated and unprepared, Tom, his girlfriend, and a...

Almost exactly one year ago, Bloody Disgusting started our reign of blood with Screambox, our very own streaming platform that’s now jam-packed with a unique blend of kickass horror films. The most notable is Terrifier 2, which challenged the theatrical model and changed the game for independent horror cinema last Halloween season.
I will never forget the first time I watched Terrifier 2, creator/director Damien Leone‘s slasher epic that continued Art the Clown’s bloody rampage from the original Terrifier movie. I sat in silence for several minutes just trying to absorb what I had witnessed. I was in shock and absolutely certain I had just experienced something truly special.
What was so exciting about Terrifier 2 was how defiant and unapologetic it felt. It had a punk rock vibe all the way through. In a time where everyone feels like they’re walking on eggshells, team...

We love a good micro do-it-yourself indie and we think horror fans are going to be blown away by Adrian Konstant‘s survival horror film Shifted, which has shades of George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead with a modern twist.
The festival favorite takes us into a world where a group of neighbors are fighting for survival on multiple fronts, where no one is safe if they stay and no one is safe if they leave.
First reported by Variety this week, Shifted will premiere on the Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox streaming service on April 18.
“As murderous creatures ravage the outside, a group of neighbors take refuge in an isolated house. Their relief is short-lived as a sinister secret hides within those walls, and they become the prey of a serial killer hidden among them. As supplies dwindle and paranoia grows, they are left to wonder who will...

Cinedigm has snapped up North American rights to Country Gold, a surrealist country music film from director Mickey Reece (Alien, Climate of the Hunter).
Reece co-wrote Country Gold with John Selvidge and plays the lead, the up-and-coming country music star Troyal Brux. The offbeat comedy follows a fateful evening in 1994 when Troyal meets up with country legend George Jones (Ben Hall). Together, they embark on a wild night in Nashville, the eve before George plans to cryogenically freeze himself.
Reece describes the film as a surreal satire on American celebrity culture. “I wanted to explore a seminal moment in American music history,” said Reece. “Not to belabor the facts, but to rather play with some icons of this particular era and let their vibes take the audience to surprising places.”

Huge, huge, huge news today as we’re excited to announce that Cinedigm, Bloody Disgusting, and Screambox have teamed to acquire all North American rights to Robbie Banfitch‘s haunting and hellish horror nightmare, The Outwaters!
The news was first reported by Variety this afternoon.
The visceral, chaotic, and disorienting horror film is hands down one of the scariest films of the year. Nightmarish Conjurings noted it was “a rare gift in horror” and “something [viewers] haven’t seen before,” while our very own Meagan Navarro called it “a singular, experimental descent into depravity and gory chaos.” You have to read her review.
In fact, DailyDead calls it “a terrifying, suffocating viewing experience,” while iHORROR says it’s “on track to become the next cult horror movie,” adding that it’s “the most disturbing movie of the year.”

Cinedigm has acquired all North American rights to horror film “The Outwaters,” a throwback to the early days of the found footage genre.
Written and directed by Robbie Banfitch, “The Outwaters” plays out over three memory cards found in a sun-drenched section of the Mojave Desert. The footage within is that of a foursome, who set out to make a music video while camping, led by a charismatic filmmaker. Their trip starts out uneventful, though their peace is occasionally disrupted by unexplained sounds, vibrations, and unnatural animal behavior. Then one night everything changes, sending the foursome on a mind-bending trip through terror.
The film is enjoying a festival run and won the jury prize for best feature at the Unnamed Footage Festival. It was also appreciated at Panic Fest, The New Jersey Film Festival and the Chattanooga Film Festival. It will play at the Dead of Night Film Festival in Liverpool in October.
