Damage is largely an expository episode of Supergirl, letting us get more familiar with our new characters as well as the new dynamics between old favourites. But don’t mistake that for meaning the episode is clunky or a bore. On the contrary, for the second week in a row Supergirl continues the winning formula of focusing on the women at its core, with the welcome addition of James.

Easily the most mellow of the films of Sam Peckinpah, this relatively gentle western fable sees Jason Robards discovering water where it ain’t, and establishing his private little way station paradise, complete with lover Stella Stevens and eccentric preacher David Warner. Some of the slapstick is sticky but the sexist bawdy humor is too cute to offend . . . and Peckinpah-phobes will be surprised to learn that the movie is in part a musical.

Veteran’s Day is November 11. While we all try to escape from the most exasperating Presidential Campaign in our history let me pay tribute to the Men and Women who have served in the military to insure we keep our electoral process and our freedoms.
Having served in the Navy four years (there he goes again!) I have a keen interest in any movie about the military, especially the sea service. I did serve during peace time so had no experience with combat but still spent most of my tour of duty at sea on an aircraft carrier, the USS Amerca CV66. Among other jobs I ran the ship’s television station for almost two years. Movies have always been important to me and so providing a few hours of entertainment every day when we were at sea was just about the best job I could have had.

The ability to stand still every so often works wonders for a thriller. Quiet moments don’t just offer a slip road away from the roaring influx of revelation, they allow tension to build and realisations to gradually dawn. Characters are given a chance to breathe uninterrupted by the noise of plot.

The rumours sounded crazy, but it now seems they were true. You may have read the stories from earlier this year - the forthcoming Transformers: The Last Knight will take in elements of Arthurian legend, including Excalibur, horses, dragons and wizards in pointy hats. That’s pretty outlandish stuff, even for a franchise which is about alien robots from space who specialise in punching each other and disguising themselves as vehicles and household objects.

What better way to celebrate the life of one of the world's greatest ever singers? A man who sold over 150 million records and won eleven Grammy Awards?
Scoop up some rejected singers from The Voice UK, gather some rejected props from The Voice UK and assemble some judges not good enough to be rejected from The Voice UK. Then put it on BBC One.
Spread all over last Saturday night like tar, Frank Sinatra: Our Way featured seven 'talented but unknown music acts from across the UK' who were competing to win a slot to perform at the singer's centenary concert later this year.
Presented by Alexander Armstrong and Rochelle Humes, who were both doing the best with what scraps they had, we were confronted with a judging panel that comprised of Rufus Hound, Mica Paris, Dave Stewart and Leo Green. And they had absolutely no sway at all.

The guys were more than happy to share not one, but two hilarious secrets that you never knew about each of our demon-hunting actors.
Watch: Is This the Sexiest Season of Supernatural Yet?!
After all, when a show has been on the air for ten years and the plot centers on the trials and tribulations of two brothers, it's only natural that the co-stars would become incredibly close. You may have recently heard: How to Get Away With Murder – the third prong in ABC’s new “#Tgit” triple play from the Shondaland production house — was not created by Shonda Rhimes.
Rather, Murder is the brainchild of Shondaland vet Pete Nowalk, a non-angry white man who has penned scripts and produced for both Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal. As such, the freshman drama — premiering Thursday at 10/9c, after the Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal season openers — marks the shingle’s first non-Shonda creation to score a time slot since Jenna Bans’ Off the Map.

Hey DEADheads, it’s Ryne from The Moon is a Dead World. We’re covering all your favorite horror TV shows (and some not-so-favorites). Shawn’s got The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story(Yeah, you read that right), Kevin‘s got Teen Wolf, Under the Dome, and The Strain, and I’ve got the rest. The Last Ship‘s season finale included!
The Last Ship: “No Place Like Home” - Sunday, August 24 at 9 Pm
I’m really, really torn about last week’s development on The Last Ship; Dr. Rachel Scott found a cure for the virus – known as Red Flu in this episode, maybe some sort of jab at the Russians? – and created a vaccine that will protect any who come into contact with an infected person. In “No Place Like Home,” all of the crew members are vaccinated, effectively eliminating risk of infection.

We're not going to lie - when we found out that Zoe Birkett was entering the Big Brother house earlier this week, the Digital Spy office got very excited indeed. What a blast from the past - and how much the "little podgy kid from Pop Idol with the dreadlocks" (her words, not ours) has grown up in the last 13 years. But it got us thinking - what happened to the other contestants? We put on our deerstalker, pulled out our magnifying glass and started digging...

In cinemas now, Cheap Thrills and The Sacrament find horror in unusual topics. Ryan compares and contrasts two daring genre films...

Nb: The following contains mild spoilers for The Sacrament and Cheap Thrills.
Horror films are like a mischievous child with a wooden stick: they prod and probe at our subconscious, searching for the sensitive spots that make us jump or recoil in fear and disgust. Yet while the horror genre's main purpose is to reflect our phobias and anxieties, it can also, on occasion, say something wider about society or human nature.
By a strange cosmic coincidence, the 6th June saw the release of two wildly different horror films which both attempt to do something more than chill our bones: El Katz's blackly comic Cheap Thrills, and Ti West's faux documentary The Sacrament. The first delves into such themes as class, poverty and reality TV, while the second touches on belief,...

Nordegren, 34, who rarely speaks publicly and gave her only interview to date to People on the eve of her 2010 divorce from Tiger Woods, told her fellow Rollins College graduates at the Winter Park, Florida, commencement ceremony that she was surprised - and "a little scared" - when she got the call about the award and the commencement address that comes with it. After all, she said,...

The anticipation leading up to Supernatural: Bloodlines was undeniable. With the mothership show heading into its tenth season next year, the idea that a new era could be on the horizon was an exciting prospect for fans of the fleshed-out world of Supernatural.
So how’d this backdoor pilot fare? If I’m being honest, the episode was very much not a normal episode of the show we watch every week together. (SPNBFFs4EVER…or something less awkward.) Gareth Gates was voted off 'Dancing on Ice All-Stars' tonight (09.02.14). The 29-year-old singer, who first rose to fame on 'Pop Idol' in 2002, became the latest star to leave the ITV series after losing a skate-off against former 'EastEnders' star Sam Attwater. Despite impressing judges Jason Gardiner, Ashley Roberts, Robin Cousins and Karen Barber with his performance to Wham!'s hit 'Freedom,' during which he wore a George Michael-style blonde wig, Gareth and his professional partner, Brianne Delcourt, failed to win them over with their follow up routine to U2's 'Beautiful Day.' All four judges chose to save 28-year-old Sam. Upon hearing the result,...

Lionel Blair has spoken about his relationships with the younger Celebrity Big Brother housemates.
Appearing on ITV's Daybreak today (January 20), the 82-year-old entertainer revealed that he asked Towie star Sam Faiers if he can go clubbing with her in Essex.
Blair explained: "I said to Sam, 'When you go out, can I come down and come out with you?' So I'm now out with them."
He went on to say that he was shocked by some of the things he has read about the house love triangle involving Lee Ryan, Casey Batchelor and Jasmine Waltz - and thinks the drama will "go on and on".
"Lee is a young man [who thinks], 'There's a lovely girl, ooh there's another lovely girl'," he commented. "I read things this morning that I can't believe happened. If I was there, it wouldn't have happened."
Blair added that he is backing Ollie Locke to win the show.

It's not like a secret. In some ways I feel the more I talk about it, the better it is - because I kept it a secret at the time." Confirming that she returned to work shortly after the first baby loss, the star continued: "In some ways I think it was easier to be Sam than be Lisa. [I was] facing up to a lot of stuff (more)...

The BBC has confirmed a third season of The Sarah Jane Adventures, to air in the fall of 2009.
Their website reviewed their future children’s offerings and said, “Together with her companions Rani and Clyde and her adopted son Luke, Sarah Jane once again comes face to face with a whole host of weird and wonderful alien beings.”
Additionally, they will be transporting Stan Lee’s Who Wants To Be A Superhero? to England and turning it into a new show aimed at younger viewers, hosted by Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes. The show lasted just two seasons on Sci Fi Channel before becoming a ratings victim.
The series wants kid heroes between 9-13 who “will create their own unique, never-seen-before superhero character, including original name, catchphrase and superpowers.
The BBC wrote,” The last super-hero standing receives the ultimate reward – immortality with a starring role in their very own comic...
