This is the story about the life and adventures of the last man on earth. Phil Miller was once just an average guy who loved his family and hated his job at the bank - now he's humanity's last hope. Will he ever find another person alive on the planet? Would hoping that she is a female be asking too much? Written by FOX
I went into watching this show as someone who does have a warped sense of humor. I enjoy shows like The Interview, Team America World Police, Monty Python, Family Guy, Ted etc. Equal opportunity offenders and potty humor can be very funny, if done right.
However, this show misses the mark in my book.
For one, you can't apply any type of logic, however subliminal. Whatever happened that wipe out the population, there is no sign of it anywhere. It feels like everybody is out on vacation. Neighborhoods look clean and neat - just abandoned.
Just because you think you are the last person on earth doesn't mean you have to retrogress into a caveman, randomly destroying things, not making any plans for your survival, incl. figuring out how to search for human life beyond this country.
Would I go insane all by myself for 2 years? Probably. And I might neglect some basic things like keeping myself clean and my living area tidy. But the main character does have ambitions - they pretty much consist of taking care of his sexual needs, which seems to be the main theme.
I really got "done" with the show when he didn't change his Neanderthal behavior after meeting another human being - regardless of what their relationship ends up to be.
Just not funny...
Despite its current *unreal* IMDb rating of 8.5 from under 3,000 people, I doubt it will survive.
