Bravo is taking a page out of Jerry Seinfeld’s book and releasing a new web series, “Sitting in Diners Eating Donuts,” (an obvious riff on Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”), to promote the second season of its first scripted comedy, “Odd Mom Out.”
The web shorts feature “Odd Mom Out” executive producer and star Jill Kargman sitting down with fellow funny New Yorkers, discussing topics relevant to that week’s episode. Jessica Seinfeld, wife of Jerry, shares tidbits about her family life and childhood. Claudia Oshry, a plucky young blogger known as “Girl With No Job,” matches her brand of “modern ortho” Jewish humor with Kargman’s Upper East Sider outsider schtick.

“Odd Mom Out” is a half-hour comedy series based on Kargman’s book, “Momzillas,” about one mom’s failure to fit in with the upper echelon of the Upper East Side. Kargman’s character isn’t quite rich enough or together enough to impress the Stepford moms she encounters at pre-school interviews: “Between Lexington and Fifth, I’m a charity case.”
Serving as her foil is her sister-in-law and the show’s shining star, Abby Elliott. Elliott ranks among the many promising comedians whose tenure at “Saturday Night Live” was too short-lived for many fans, but with “Odd Mom Out” she has returned with a flourish. Other standouts include Andy Buckley (“The Office”) as Kargman’s husband, and Joanna Cassidy (“Six Feet Under“) as her mother-in-law.
The first two webisodes debut exclusively on IndieWire. The second season of “Odd Mom Out” premieres June 20 at 10Pm on Bravo.

Some say, write what you know. I guess the idiom here would be to…run with what you know. A project that producer Laura Wagner received support on via Sffs and the Sundance Institute, Tracktown is the sum of a devotion to a sport and a creative collaboration that sprung up at Dartmouth College. Grads Jeremy Teicher and Alexi Pappas combined forces (both personally and professionally) in 2012 on the micro feature Tall as the Baobab Tree, and they are currently in finish line mode with their second creative collaboration. Teicher (featured in Filmmaker Mag’s Top 25 in 2013) co-wrote/directed/produced the project with Pappas who stars an literally borrows from her blistered feet days of the sport. 'Jurassic World' velociraptor kicks Iron Man ass at worldwide box office. 'Jurassic World' officially surpasses 'The Avengers' at worldwide box office Directed by Colin Trevorrow; starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Vincent D'Onofrio; and co-executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, Jurassic World has officially become the third biggest worldwide box office hit in history. The Jurassic Park sequel – or reboot, as it's basically the same story with a slightly different twist – has surpassed Marvel's Joss Whedon-directed all-star superhero flick The Avengers, which broke box office records back in 2012. Of course, "officially" just ain't what it used to be – like, in the days before The Fall. So you wisely ask, "But which movie has actually sold the most tickets?" After all, that's the true measure of a film's popularity. Well, that's a tough one to answer without the studios providing accurate, precise numbers. And that's not about to happen. It always...

A very British supernatural comedy that deserves to be a box-office hit
Here's a smart, strange British film that carried off the Michael Powell award at Edinburgh last weekend. Its release is a small one, through the admirable New British Cinema Quarterly initiative pioneered by Soda Pictures to generate a following for smaller British movies. It involves touring the picture around the country for single screenings at selected cinemas, following each show with a Q & A with the actors or director. If it pops up near you (check at nbcq.co.uk) it would be well worth an evening out.
Davis and Bennett (played by odd couple Ed Gaughan and Andrew Buckley) are psychic cleaners. They work for a company which visits homes in need of a purge – if marriage guidance, regression therapy or theta healing haven't worked, you need these spiritual ghost-busters to rattle through the skeletons in your bedroom cupboard.
