BAFTA-winning Once Upon a Time In Northern Ireland creator James Bluemel has found his next project, an exploration of space.
Bluemel, who has made some of the most critically-acclaimed British docs of the past few years, has also joined Once Upon a Time … producer Keo Films as Creative Director.
Once Upon a Time in Space will look at the humans who are once again heading back out into the atmosphere. China, Russia, America, India, Saudi Arabia and Japan are all investing heavily in lunar exploration, jostling for power and influence amongst the stars, and the series will profile this new space race, examining the consequences for the future of humankind.
“It will be interesting creatively to take the Once Upon a Time approach and focus it on a subject like space, to move the strand on in an unexpected and refreshing way,” said Bluemel. He is EPing alongside Will Anderson and Andrew Palmer for Keo.

The BBC is heading back under the sea with Blue Planet Live – a spin-off of the hugely successfully Sir David Attenborough-fronted blue-chip wildlife series.
The British public broadcaster is to launch it as a stripped four-part TV event, revisiting the wildlife and the stories of Blue Planet II, which was a huge ratings success last year with some 62% of the UK population watching it. The show will air in March 2019 and will be broadcast live from the East Coast of the U.S., the Bahamas and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Paul MacInnes tuned in at 12:15pm to watch classic 1972 upside-down-ocean-liner drama The Poseidon Adventure. It was a grand end to our week of liveblogging films from the TV. See what happened here
2.24pm: "If you're a blogger and you've been watching with us this week, it's been lovely Channel Four". I don't think that was delivered quite as it was intended. But thanks! We lovely you too!
Conclusions: This film is terrible. High concept, tedious execution, with bizarre relgious allegory layered on top for good measure. At least it was absolutely jam-packed with Seventies cliches - like sexual exploitation and shouting.
It's been an absolute pleasure to share this movie with you. Let's do it again some time!
2.21pm: One last shot of Susan and Nonnie (Hippy's) thighs, and we're free!
Final survivor count (unless the chopper blows up unexpectedly): Borgnine, Susan, Nonny, Mr Rosen, Cagoule Kid, and Mr Red Buttons.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has admitted that he does not like losing to fellow celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. The River Cottage presenter told Metro that the competitive streak he exhibits on his shows is genuine. Fearnley-Whittingstall said: "Some of the directors I've worked with have worked out there might be some mileage in needling me a little bit, getting my competitive juices flowing. "I don't mind taking a fall now and again, both literally and metaphorically. I don't always have to win as long as I've enjoyed playing the game. Obviously I don't (more)...

This documentary-installation piece by the Austrian film-maker Nikolaus Geyrhalter left me speechless. It is a compilation of coolly framed, static shots of hi-tech farming in various colossal bio-factories throughout Europe. Vast production lines of animals, and some plants and flowers, are shown being harvested in huge rows, seen from dizzying, vertiginous perspectives. Farmed salmon are slurped out of the water by giant hose contraptions, and then gutted, relentlessly, endlessly, by a machine whose workings are filmed with utter dispassion. The suspended bodies of pigs sway gently as they arrive, one after the other, at an unspeakable device that efficiently rips them open to remove their intestines; an act of repeated violence that reminded me of Macbeth's claim to have "unseamed" Malcolm "from the nave to th'chops".
A sequence showing cows introduced one-by-one into a machine that will kill them, then turn them upside down for the carcass to be removed,...
